Some say its a Podcast, some say its a devotional, some say it is an introduction to a community. Whether we realize it or not, we all have a desire to live it, we want it, we need it. Living the Freedom Life. We are not here to talk religion but we are here to talk about a genuine relationship wit…
I remember as a kid, we had this wooden box thing that would sit on our cedar chest in front of our big picture window, and mom had these little ceramic figures that went in it. And this was serious stuff, they HAD to be in their places and NO, I could not touch it. Like everyone had their specific place that they went. And then, at the top of this little wooden barn looking thing was a hole. And that's where this light bulb fit perfectly snug inside. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 127 and today we are talking about A Hole. The post A Hole for Christmas first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.
The long awaiting of Christ. It's so much more than some little wooden calendar that you open up little doors and get candy out of. And I'm not talking about some fat guy in a red suit, letting you know how many shopping days you have left. But nonetheless, Christmas is Approaching. When Christ came, you know, when people say “the reason for the season”, This was a time that only a select few knew about. This wasn't common knowledge. Yeah sure, the Magi, wise men, shepherds, the sheep, the cows (which are not too bright by the way), camels, they showed up, some kid with a drum, even a star knew about Christ's approach. But not everyone knew about the event, well, not just the event of the year or even century, but the event of all of time. Not everyone knew that it was coming. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 126 and today we hope that you know, Christmas is Approaching. The post Christmas is Approaching first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.
The Holiday Season as we call it, is a force to be reckoned with. I mean, we have to give it a name that bundles it all together like some big Tech company would bundle our internet. The Holiday Season. We want to think that we live such an important, fast-paced life that we give it an overall name. Like we don't have time to name each one anymore. But there are distinct areas of focus that we can take for each one that can be beneficial. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 125 and today we are talking about The Holiday Season. The post The Holiday Season first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Look, I'm just going to come right out and say it, everyone's family is weird. I know, you probably think that you need to put up this big charade to let all of us know that your family is perfect, but deep down, you know, all of us have this one family member. . . and there is some truth to that old joke. . . if you can't think of who that person is in your family, it may just be you. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life podcast, this is episode 124 and today we are talking about Who You Really Are. The post Who You Really Are first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.
Today's episode is our 123rd. If you Google 123 you get a ton of Songs Jess Glynne, Brian McKnight, Jackson 5, Feist. You'll also find songs on how to teach your little one to count, but some other things you'll find when you google 123 are Drug Court Dockets, Cross Stitch Patterns to Printer forums, a Blended Tequila, you'll even find an Aircraft that dispersed Agent Orange when you search 123. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life and this IS episode 123 and today we are discovering that “Change is Easier Than 123”. The post Change is Easier Than 123 first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.
Do you realize why we love the Marvel movies so much? Because against the odds, they are fearless. They are always up against a villain and the task is usually unsurmountable. Then, the hero overcomes and conquers. The classic story line. It's exciting, ...to see and watch. . .but for some… okay, for me...that's waay in the distance. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 113 and today we are talking about How to be Fearless. The post How to Be Fearless first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.
You know about daylight saving time, right? This weekend we will turn our clocks back an hour. Right now, it gets dark before I get home, I'm sure it's the same with where you are too. The post The End of Daylight Savings first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.
Traditions are peculiar. For example, think about some traditions that you like to see for your Birthday. Mine is coming up and I have to tell you, I struggle with a few different aspects of my Birthday. It makes me feel a little weird. I mean, I didn't do anything. I was just born. We're really just celebrating the marching of time. Well, we'll talk about that today, You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 120 and today, awkwardly enough, we are talking about Time Marching On. The post Time Marches On first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.
Have you ever been driving along, minding your own business, and saw a squirrel come out in the middle of the road? Why do you think there are so many squirrels that are flattened on our streets and highways? Okay, besides the tires on vehicles. It's not like they're slow. They're fast enough to get out of the way. Why do you think so many squirrels meet their demise? It's because of indecision. They can see danger approaching, and they're able to see all the options before them, but they can't make a decision. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 119 and today we're talkin about Squirrel! The post Squirrel! first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.
After doing 118 Episodes of this audio podcast, you learn a few things along the way. I mean, I've had an Audio career most of my life, that's not what I'm talking about. I've learned mostly about myself. I mean, this podcast has taught me A LOT about how differently I write things and outline thoughts and how they actually come across to you, our listeners. Our main goal is to help people do exactly what the Title implies; We want to help people, we want to help you, Live the Freedom Life that God originally intended you to live. That's it. That's the bottom line. But I have to confess, there is a major hurdle that stands in my way and I want to get it out in the open today and share it with you. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 118 and today we are talking about My Critic. The post My Critic first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.

My Granddad was a dairyman. That means that he had a huge farm and he milked cows for a living. These big tanker trucks would come on a daily basis and collect the raw milk from the stainless steel tanks he had and they would process it so that you could soak your Tony TigTiger flak for the morning Breakfast. He taught me a lot. He had little one liners that he would say that, over the years, have proven to me of what gems they are. I want to share one with you today. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 116 and today I'm sharing with you the fact that Cows Don't Give Milk. I'll have a link in the show notes for you so you can see them. We want to share our second concept with you because this concept is well known but rarely activated. Because it takes someone outside of yourself to activate it. That's just the way the Brain works. Let's get started on today's episode of Living the Freedom Life podcast, we're on episode #109 and today we are discovering the importance of Unlocking You. The post Unlocking You first appeared on Kyle McMurray Coaching, LLC.

So I want to introduce you to a new friend of mine. His name is Ron Clark. We ran into each other on Social Media. He consistently posts genuinely thought provoking statements, whether they are memes or simply writing down his thoughts. One of his recent posts, and I will let him explain this in a moment, it really caught my attention. I want to share it with you today as we welcome Ron Clark to Living the Freedom Life. This is episode 107.
Have you ever cooked something in a pot? Yeah, I think that's safe for me to assume, but you never really know. If you've ever cooked something in a pot and let it sit on the stove for any amount of time, what do you need to do on occasion? Right, you stick a spoon or ladle or something in there and give it a good stir. I mean, there's a few reasons you need to do that and we'll talk about them today on Living the Freedom Life. This is Episode 106 and today we need to Stir the Pot.
We've recently talked about vacation and usually when you return, people, friends, and co-workers usually ask “Did you have a good vacation?”, “What did you do?”, “Where did you go?”. I've been back just long enough for me to observe something about myself… You see, I try to implement this stuff we talk about in my life. This isn't just a situation where I spew how you should live your life, I have things to learn too. I'm observing how I answer those questions and I want to share those with you today. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is Episode 105 and today we are talking about Total Recall at a Bar.
I remember as a kid, when we would go to my Grandparents, there was a certain hill that we would top and I could see in the distance, the town church steeple. You could see it for what seemed to be miles around. Once we went through town, I would always know that we were getting close. You could see that steeple before anything else. My Grand Dad would tell me that back when settlers would move to a new town being developed, they would instantly know where the hub of that town was. It was the pinnacle, the main influence and the genesis of everything in that town. Oh sure, there may have been a courthouse, but the church steeple was the tallest thing in the town. It was the first thing you saw. Every culture has a key hub. There is always a central social common ground that gravitates certain birds of a feather, where they can flock together (as the saying goes). Today I would like to discuss with you the importance of that social hub and remember, we are not talking about religion. We are talking about your influence today on Living the Freedom Life. This is Episode 104 and we are talking today about Your Steeple.
A few months ago, we did a series in Fall being my favorite season of the year. But there has been a shift. I'm not rescinding my claim, I still love Autumn. It's still my favorite time of year, but my view of Summer has changed. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is Episode 102 and today we are talking about Changing Seasons.
Do you know the importance of hope? Let me ask this in a different way. Have you ever been in a situation where you just see no other answer and you've given up? Then you've found that Hope is important. Hope is like refined jet fuel for the soul. It drives us. It gives us life. It provides endurance, when in dire circumstances will be the only reason victory is possible. I have something very special to share with you today about Hope. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is Episode 102 and today we are talking about Hoping for Hope.
Remember when you were younger and you used to get SO bored? Oh wait, we just spent nearly a year on lockdown, of course you remember...Well, you were still younger, technically. I've heard it said that “The two enemies of happiness are pain and boredom.” Now, we talk about pain quite a lot with our clients, but boredom? No one ever talks about that. Well, we're talking about it today. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is Episode 101 and today we are Breaking Boredom.

Remember last week's episode about what you drew on a piece of paper? Well, it caused a response that I didn't expect. As usual, I felt like we should talk about it today. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life podcast and this episode is the last of the double digits, we are on Episode number 99 and today's title is “Keep a File”.
If you’ve ever attended one of our classes or had very many coaching sessions, you’ve heard me say that “People only fall into 2 categories; people that either bring me closer to Jesus, or the other ones”. Well, as any good coach would say, “Everyone needs a coach”. And I’m not immune to that statement. I’m included in “everyone”. Well, MY coach told me about 4 categories of people. I want to share them with you today. So, get a piece of paper and something to write with. Yeah, we are going analog today. Get ready! It doesn’t have to be fancy, just a yellow sticky note is all. Maybe a sharpie. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life Podcast, this is episode 98 and today, I’m telling you, “There Are 4”.
Some people can’t handle the truth about themselves or others. Some of you know me well. Through the years, you’ve watched me grow, walked with me, encouraged me, sharpened me, there’ve been some correction and a few swift kick in the pants. Some of you know me through our Coaching practice, and as you know, as candid as I am and as open as I am about my life, we’ve grown to know each other pretty well in a short amount of time. There are some of you who listen to this podcast and don’t know me at all, . . . yet. And that’s okay. In fact, that’s why we produce this podcast, not only for me to open up, to share. You get to know me and then, I get to know you; for us to sharpen each other. I love getting to know new people. But there is a risk involved in that. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life podcast. This is Ep 97 and today we are talking about Handling the Truth
Did you ever see the bottom of an old glass bottle or can? You could get yourself a shiny nickel if you turned it back in. To a 5 year old, that’s like free money! And that is a great example of redeeming something. You turn in something that is used and you get something in return that has value! Redemption is an important concept to understand as a follower of Christ, but if we only look at it through “Coke Bottle lenses”, we may be setting ourselves up for a great disappointment if we are not careful. You are listening to Living the Freedom Life podcast and today we are talking about Redemption.
Today is an extremely special day in the McMurray household. There will be consequences for me later, but I just can’t help myself. I have a story to tell. It is a foundational part of my personal Freedom Journey and I want to share it with you today. It has a lot to do with this song. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life Podcast and this is Ep 95, Love Struck.
Our perspective on things and the world around us is crucial. The way we see things sets the stage on how we make choices. Our choices are what assist in what we call “Life navigation”. Our choices steer us in one direction or another. So, whether we see the glass as half full or half empty is a pretty big deal. You would think. Well, I’ve never been accused as being normal. So, let me challenge you to look at this a little differently today. And it might change the way you see your day to day life. Because that is what we are about. You’re listening to Living the Freedom Life podcast, and today we are talking about the Glass being Half What.
Even if you’ve never cracked open a Bible in your life, you’ve probably heard the scripture in 1 John 4 that tells us “God is Love”. Well, to put it bluntly, we’ve lost sight of that. We have forgotten it. We’ve watered this section of scripture down so much, that it has become dangerous, spiritual malnutrition, to the point that we may not know what Love is. Our view of what Love is has become so delicate and conditional. Love is meant to be powerful, robust, strong and a powerful transforming force. I don’t believe most people get to experience that. They wind up truly identifying with this song. We are so desperate to experience this, we may be confusing it with something else. Something much different. Something drastically opposite of what it really is and meant to be. Fear. When I say it like that, it seems outlandish. Well, maybe not. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life podcast and this is episode number 93. Today we're talkin about Love and Fear.
We are creatures of habit. I know that you know this and probably have quite a few examples of this truth in your life. Some, you would even be willing to admit. Habit is one of the enemies of Growth. I want to share with you today a topic that we commonly face at Kyle McMurray Coaching, and that is the unspoken, outwardly silent but inwardly violent battle for your Growth. I’ve recently fought this battle and I want to share it with you. Sometimes that's the best coaching, just sharing my story. You’re listening to Living the Freedom Life Podcast, and today we are talking about The Growth Battle.
The week after Easter. Yes, I am grateful for His resurrection and I’m convinced that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the single most important event in history. That being said, I’m a “Rubber Meets the Road” type of guy, where “The proof is in the puddin” as my Grandad would say. This week I would like to talk about, well for 40 days after Jesus walked out of the tomb, He spent it with the Disciples. By sticking fingers in His wounds, walking through walls, and assuring some pretty amazed faces that He was indeed, alive. Along with that, were some residual facts. Like conquering death, overcoming the enemy, Healing, and now…”What’s Next?” This week, like every week, I would like to talk about the answer to that question. “What’s Next? You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 91 What’s Next
Happy Calendar Day! Oh, you know today is usually called April Fool’s Day...on April 1st. But are you aware of how this day of expected trickery began? It’s really all about the calendar. We’ll talk about it in just a moment. You’re listening to Living the Freedom Life podcast. Ep 90………..No Foolin’
Have you ever had a pebble in your shoe? You know, like a small rock or something hard inside your shoe? It can be really annoying rolling around in there. I mean, you can push through it. You know, mind over matter and all that. But don’t worry, it will still be there later to surprise you. Who wants to take the time, who HAS the time to take off their shoe and take care of a pebble inside? There are times that I’m convinced, I don’t. So, on I go. Walking through my day, with this small rock in my shoe. Jabbing my foot every time I step. Hmmmm. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, Ep 89 “Pebble in My Shoe”.
I was setting up a new calendar for our Coaching Practice and with all of the options, it asked me if I wanted the first day of the week to be on a Sunday, or Monday. At first I didn’t think much about it, I’ve just always chosen Sunday. Because of the old calendars that always hung on the wall. But then, as you know me, I started asking questions. . . You're listening to Living the Freedom Life Ep 88 and today we are talking about The Sabbath.
Okay, before we get started with today's episode I want to teach you a little something that's very important to me in my coaching practice. Point your head, right at your temple. And repeat after me. “This is my thinker. And my thinker is not my knower.” Now, point at your heart and repeat after me. “This is my knower. And my knower is not my thinker.” I know it seems elementary but stay with me. Point back to your head, “My thinker tries to be my knower. But my thinker is only my thinker. It’s not my knower.” Now point to your heart, or your knower, “My knower doesn’t really need my thinker to know. Even when my thinker wants to be right, I still know.” Now, that little exercise my friends, will come in handy later. It’s okay, You can rewind so your thinker can catch up. On today's topic, Do you ever feel like you're just not good enough? That life requires more than you have. In many areas of my life, I mean, this is real. I feel like I don't have what it takes, often. Most of the time. There have been books written about this, and there's definitely a lot of podcasts on this topic. But lately I've been thinking about this differently. Because not only am I a Certified Life Coach, I am also a client. There are a lot of days where I feel that I don’t measure up. You’re listening to Living the Freedom Life podcast # 86 and today we're asking the question, are you good enough.
I’m a starter. Those of you that know me well, already know that. In my life I have been fortunate enough to have an 50k foot view on some really cool projects. But that also has a dark side to it. You see, I’m a starter. I get excited about things and I sometimes see a vision clearly. I find it easy to communicate that vision. I’m a communicator and some things just come natural to me. They fall into place easily and that’s exciting, it’s invigorating and some say that I’m a little too intense when those things are working in me. But what happens when the dust settles? What happens after I follow what is said in Hab 2:2 when the vision is written down and explained and communicated? What then? What happens after it’s started? How do you get past that? I want to share with you a struggle I’ve had for years, and the answer is quite simple. Welcome to Living the Freedom Life This is Episode 85 and today we’ll talk about the solution of walking with an Open Hand.
Have you ever reached a point where you've told yourself “Something's Gotta Change”? With everything going on nowadays, it may be a more common statement than I realized. There's a lot of tension in our society right now. Including the weather, power outages, food shortages, boiling restrictions on water, Patience wears thin. Intolerance is at an all-time high with our society. Everywhere you look, there is a flavor of division, it’s everywhere. Unity seems like a pipe dream. We are a divided nation and it’s much more than politics. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, ep 84 and today’s title is “Something’s Gotta Change”.
I don’t like to fail. I’m sure you don’t either. But I have and I do fail. A lot. It’s difficult for me to keep moving, to keep trying after I realize that I have failed. Sometimes, I refuse to see it when it's right in front of me. The most dangerous part about this is that most times when we fail, we face it alone. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, ep 83 and today we are talking about Embracing Failure Alone.
One of the main keys to success is to keep going when you start. I’m sure that you’ve heard the old adage, “If you’re going through Hell, keep going.” Let me explain a few things today that’s helped a lot of people. This has EVERYTHING to do with Living the Freedom Life and I want to share it with you. This is Episode 82 named after those infamous words of Winston Churchill, We are talking about “Going Through Hell” today.
When it comes to New Year Resolutions, by now, there are only four options. Either you are well on your way to accomplishing the task you set out, or they’ve flopped, or you didn’t make any, or, the fourth option is that you just need some encouragement to keep going. This is episode # 81 and you're listening to Living the Freedom Life.
I want to ask you a rhetorical question. How many times have you been talking to someone, they ask “How have you been?”, and your answer goes something like this... “Oh man, I’ve been really busy.” Or “Yeah, I just don’t have time for much anymore, between work and family.” You're listening to Living the Freedom Life Ep 80 and today we are talking about being The Art of Marinating.
As we dive into today’s topic... It’s one that I face quite often and I’m sure you do too. Even with our Coaching clients, we find that this is a huge driver to many things we do in our lives. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is episode 79 and today we are talking about Rejection.
How many of you have made it this far? You know, with your New Year Resolutions. Are you still holding down the fort, even though the enemy is circling? Why are resolutions so hard? I know, resolutions are usually things, that I know that I should be doing, but aren’t. You're listening to Living the Freedom Life, this is ep78 Resolution, Schmed-jo-lution.
Look, there hasn’t been much gone untouched by 2020. This year has been a doozy. I’ve seen everything from making sure that everyone eats Black Eyed Peas for the New Year to Opening your Back Door just before midnight to “Let out” everything about 2020 and open your front door to let the newness of 2021 in. There is a lot that needs to change about 2021. But this time of year sparks that kind of thing, now doesn’t it? You’re listening to Living the Freedom Life ep 77 and today we are asking What Do You Want to Change?
