Hi guys! In this episode, I have my brother, Pastor Tim Hamlette, on to talk with me & dissect some of the questions I have heard, asked or know should be asked about our faith, Christianity. This week's music inspiration is religion x PJ Morton. It is a personal fav of mine because it just poetically reflects on how people put their own ideas, beliefs & attitudes that really have nothing to do with their faith ON their God. As I believer, of course, God influences or should influence, what we do, how we think & the way we act. Unfortunately, that is not the case so let's talk about it! As a Christian should you be in a local body of believers and either serving/functioning in the body? Is my faith the “white man’s religion”? Has church hurt blocked people from seeing Jesus? Should we be surprises by people being people? What is the church’s job and is it doing that? What should the church look like today? Misconceptions that are put on pastors: ie. “pastors get all money from the church” → how PKs are affected by gossip. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Exhaustion. This episode's name is self-explanatory but mostly what you can expect to listen to is how the Black experience feels like someone who is a Christian. Dealing with racism is hard enough but when you have to continuously feel it from other brothers & sisters in Christ who do not look like you, it cuts even deeper. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Let's talk about it! Often times I hear “America was built to be a Christian nation and this is why this policy should/shouldn’t be…” This episode will address how we as Christians through politics, specifically in America, without being tone-deaf and ignorant yet still keeping God 1’st and in the center of it all. This subject matter is too diverse, especially in what I want to cover, that this episode is the first of a series of sorts. Take it as an interlude between each episode or an introduction into what the content of the next episode will be centered towards. I am excited to dive into these discussions because honestly, I usually feel like my thoughts, philosophy, & conclusions are different from many people I know. Not only in for secular arena's or other religions but also within my own faith. Diversity in thought is something I'm an advocate for, I don't want everyone around me to think the same; I personally believe, if I cannot be challenged in my conclusions how do I know if they are true? That is something my father instilled in me though, I was never allowed to just believe something for the sake of it, I had to logically figure out why I believe what I believe & be prepared to be wrong. Growth is a beautiful place to get to in ANY discussion. So, I could continue talking about my love for these things over & over but honestly let's get into the questions for today: Is there a specific place for a Christian in the two-party American system? Should we encourage the government to make laws and policies that are strictly Christian? --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

By the title you know we're discussing forgiveness & specifically what biblical forgiveness looks like. I have the co-founder of Seven x Seventy, a clothing brand with the mission of spreading forgiveness, Maurice Victor on to share why forgiveness is important to him. Here are the questions & links related to this episode: Article Maurice references throughout the episode: https://www.ibelieve.com/relationships/7-myths-we-have-about-forgiveness-and-what-biblical-forgiveness-really-looks-like.html What does biblical forgiveness look like? Is everything a person does meant to be forgiven? How does forgiveness & righteous judgment co-exist? Brandt Jean's display of forgiveness to Amber Guyger, the convicted murder of his older brother. Why did Maurice & Zion create seven x seventy? What about revenge? How do we ensure people get "what they deserve " if we as people are so forgiving? That is all for this episode, love y'all have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Years! See you in the new year

Hi everyone, Today I have a friend of mine that I am so grateful to know, Bethany Adams. We will be discussing purity culture & sex as we understand it to be for Christians: What does the Bible say about sex? What is purity culture? Who does it primarily affect? Is the culture effective in its goals? My own struggles with pornography since I was exposed to it at 12 years old Our view of sex in a relationship (as virgins) Has church culture become better with conversing & educating people about sex? I felt the need to be transparent in my own struggles in pursuit of purity & how my life has changed as a result of telling others about my struggles. I pray this episode helps anyone who may be suffering from similar struggles & have never heard anyone talk about these things. Just know there is NOTHING that can separate you from the love of God. We must first acknowledge there is a problem to be able to fix it. Call on God, ask for forgiveness, forgive yourself & walk in the freedom Jesus Christ has given each of us. A bonus to this episode is our discussion in T.I.'s recent insight into his approach to trying to keep his daughter pure. Was his approach appropriate? Does it seem he is just as adamant about purity to all his children or just is this approach because Dejah is a woman? Why did he feel comfortable telling the public such a private thing about his daughter's sexuality? Love you all & see you in the next episode! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

How being in a relationship with God affects our relationship with one another? How can social media impact a relationship (negatively)? Is privacy key in a relationship?
