Join guest speaker Russell Siemer, formerly the Worship and Outreach Pastor at Transformation Church, as he returns to share a deeply personal and powerful message entitled "Built to Last." Russell begins by highlighting the profound impact of a father's words and love in shaping a child's identity, urging all parents to verbalize their pride and affection, breaking generational cycles of unspoken love. Drawing from his own experiences as a church planter navigating both the urgency of reaching the unchurched and the patience to trust God's timing, Russell sets the stage for a profound dive into Ephesians chapter 3. He reveals the secret to living a life "built to last": understanding and internalizing God's boundless love. Russell unpacks Paul's message to the Ephesians, a church situated at the epicenter of both human knowledge and diverse worship. Paul reminds them—and us—that through Christ Jesus, the gospel is now inclusive, granting both Jews and Gentiles equal access to God's presence and an equal share in the riches inherited by His children. This "mysterious plan," hidden for ages, was always God's intention: a meta-narrative of restoration for all. A poignant segment of the message addresses the counterintuitive truth that where the church faces the greatest persecution, the gospel spreads like wildfire. Russell offers a stirring challenge to American believers, reminding them that an increasingly unpopular Christian faith is, in fact, a sign of an opportune time for a great spiritual awakening. The heart of the sermon lies in Paul's prayer in Ephesians 3:14-19: that we would be "empowered with inner strength through His Spirit" and that "Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him." This leads to the core truth: God loves you. Russell tackles common misconceptions about this foundational truth, debunking the myths that God's love is a license for complacency or an excuse to remain unchanged. Instead, he asserts, God's love accepts us as we are but loves us too much to leave us there, providing the "guardrails" for a life of purpose and wholeness. He transparently shares common barriers to receiving God's love, including past hurts from earthly relationships, the struggles and hardships of life that tempt us to question God's care, and a low view of ourselves that hinders self-forgiveness. Russell beautifully illustrates God's lavish and seemingly "reckless" love through the parable of the Prodigal Son, demonstrating the Father's relentless pursuit and extravagant grace for the undeserving. This message is an urgent invitation to step into God's transforming love—whether for the very first time in salvation, for healing from deep wounds inflicted by earthly fathers, or for overcoming the struggle to love and forgive oneself. Russell Siemer provides practical encouragement and a powerful reminder that "nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Tune in to discover how embracing this truth can build a life that truly lasts. +++++++ Join us for church this Sunday. For service times and meeting location please visit https://transformtlh.com/

Pastor continues the series of teaching 'Transformation Church' with an emphasis on what the believer should keep their minds thinking on, which is the word of God and not the flesh. Can the deep pain and division of racism ever be healed? And does the Christian faith play any role in the work of racial reconciliation? Pastor Derwin Gray believes that if we rightly understand the message of grace through Jesus, we will see the image of God across all races and cultures, and embrace and promote a culture of love instead of a culture of hate. In this special episode Pastor Derwin Gray of Transformation Church has a discussion with Shay and Lynn about the history of racism in America, its lasting impact, and the current need for ongoing reconciliation. Derwin's book, How to Heal Our Racial Divide, proposes that “racial reconciliation is God's idea”, and that the church should be a place that “isn't colorblind, but color-blessed.” This conversation covers topics like: The significance of Martin Luther King Jr. and his powerful writings The challenge of overcoming indifference and opposition to reconciliation How racial trauma manifests in different generations Teaching people to be "unoffendable in the gospel" Encouragement for Christians to extend grace in difficult conversations. Although the church should be a natural place for racial healing to occur, the reality is that barriers such as pride, fear, power and economics often prevent the church from taking the risk to love others when the cost seems too high. We appreciate Pastor Gray's passion and insights on this important topic, as he calls us to see the beauty of diversity as part of God's design and highlights the role we can play in helping people heal from racial trauma through empathy, compassion and understanding. In this episode, we welcome Derwin Gray back to the show. He is a pastor, author, and former NFL player. He is also the founder and lead pastor of Transformation Church in Indian Land, South Carolina. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts and played for them from 1993-1997 and then the Carolina Panthers in 1998. He is the author of several books to include his new book “Lit Up with Love: Becoming Good-News People to a Gospel-Starved World”. In this interview, we discuss why it is dangerous for pastors to call themselves “annointed”, the real trauma he suffered during his childhood, how he found an escape through football, the two coaches that invited him to step into the challenge of being a great man, the naked man that helped lead him to Christ, the problem with churches that don't focus on discipleship, why we're all so exhausted in modernity, why most of us don't evangelize, how he strives to make his church man-friendly, how churches should approach the subject of race, and much more. Today, I get to chat with Dr. Derwin Gray, pastor of Transformation Church and former NFL player, to talk about his brand-new book, Lit Up With Love: Becoming Good-News People to a Gospel-Starved World.Dr. Gray's story is powerful—going from a college football scholarship at BYU to an NFL career, then encountering the relentless love of Jesus through a teammate who shared the gospel with him for five years. He opens up about how that love transformed his life, healed his heart, and set him on a mission to bring the good news to a world desperate for hope.We dive into: • His journey from the NFL to pastoring a thriving, multiethnic church • How sports taught him about leadership, discipline, and faith • The way God's love changes how we see ourselves, our families, and our purpose • Why everyday believers are called to be everyday missionaries • What it means to be “lit up with love” and how the gospel fuels our witnessDr. Gray reminds us that the nations are no longer just “out there” they're right here, and the church has a calling to welcome and love people from every background. He challenges us to see the mission field in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and everyday relationships. This conversation is full of wisdom, encouragement, and a deep passion for Jesus. Don't miss it!
