Episode 25: The Two Things You Are Thinking That Get In Your Way Every Day

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 17, 2019 20:00

Episode 25 - The two things you are thinking that get in your way every day Hey there! Today, we are talking about the two things that you are thinking that are getting in your way every day. There are a couple of little phrases that creep their way into all of our heads at one point or another, and I'm telling you—they can have a serious impact on your confidence!   I KNOW THIS / THAT The first one I want to talk about is three little words… "I know this" or "I know that".   If you try to tell me that you never say this, then I'm gonna call you on it my friend because ALL of us are guilty of doing this.   You know what I mean. Those little words that pop into your head whenever you hear something that might have been heard before. Or it could be a strategy that you know about—and most likely have never implemented—or you did, and it didn't work for you. Notice that distinction there? It didn't work FOR YOU…? Think for a little second what this means. Just by thinking these three little words, you are shutting down any learning that you could have through the experience. You are completely disregarding anything that the person might be saying after you think "I know this". You are stopping your mind (and more importantly, your sub-conscious!) from gleaning an insight that just might create the AHA moment that you really need to create a breakthrough in your business (or your life). You think that what they are telling you is old news, or not valuable, or just plain doesn't work…because you don't think it's new.   It's also a sign that you don't think you need to learn. That you've got all the answers.   Do you? Have all the answers I mean? Hmm… I didn't think so. What do you think it does to your confidence when you are constantly assuming that you have all the answers and then not getting the results? Humility is absolutely a key to learning and development…to being willing to change and shift how you think.   You see—sometimes one person might be telling you something that you know in detail and have tried and maybe you got a result from it, or maybe you didn't, but that doesn't mean that it isn't a valuable strategy! You might just need to try it again (and again and again…) to get the results going. Or maybe you need to do it at a different time, when you've got more experience under your belt (like now!). I reckon this comes from our need to BE the expert in all the things. We think that if we don't have all the answers, then somehow we aren't worthy to help others or give advice.   What do you think would happen if you let yourself be a bit vulnerable for a change? What does vulnerable even mean to you? Let me tell you that hands down, THE most powerful thing I learnt in my career was to say "I don't know." When somebody asked me a question that I didn't know the answer to, I would say, "You know what? I don't know the answer to that but I can find out." Here’s a challenge. Try this instead—when the words "I know this” or “I know that" pop into your head, I want you to challenge yourself to follow it up with “I wonder what new things I can learn…” and see what sort of inspiration comes.   I CAN’T So the second phrase that I know you are thinking every day is "I can't…"   "I can't find the time" "I can't get engagement in my business" "I can't figure that out" "I can't go live because I'm terrible" "I can't lose weight" "I can't understand why she did that"  You know what I'm talking about.   Actually, I feel exactly the same about "should"! (But let's not get side-tracked…) When you say "I can't," you are copping out on yourself incredibly. You are telling yourself, and your subconscious, that you don't believe in yourself. That it is impossible for you to do or achieve that thing.   You have a choice in everything that you do. So when you say I can't, you are actually making a choice to not do or achieve that thing.   Another way to think about this is by replacing the word "can't" with the word "won't". I heard Marie Forleo say this once and I absolutely love it.   Let's see what that does with the phrases that we started with above. "I won't find the time" "I won't get engagement in my business" "I won't figure that out" "I won't go live because I'm terrible" "I won't lose weight" "I won't understand why she did that" It puts a completely different spin on things, doesn't it?   How does it feel hearing those statements like that? See, when you use words like “I can't,” you take your power away. You actually do have the power to choose what you do and how you react and, with some practice, how you feel about every situation you find yourself in. It's about tapping into that well of strength inside you and making conscious choices.   Do you think you can do that? What is one thing that you are going to stop saying “I can't” about? What can you choose to take control back on and choose to take a different, deliberate action on? And that is what I have for you today—two things that you are thinking that are getting in your way every single day. There are probably more of them—I bet you can find some and let me know! Gorgeous ladies, I am super grateful that you joined me today and I hope that you have taken away a nugget of thought-provoking goodness. I’d like to invite you to have a Biz Growth Breakthrough session with me. I still have a few available slots next week. Episode 24: What If The Way You Treat your Business Is Stopping Your Growth?

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 4, 2019 19:59

Episode 24 - What if the way you treat your business is stopping your growth? Welcome back, pretty lady! Today, let’s talk about whether the way you are treating your business is stopping you from growing! I want to kick off by asking you a crazy question. Are you ready?   When was the last time you talked to your business?   Heh-heh-heh. I can see you rolling your eyes at me, you know!   Seriously, though, I've noticed that when we are getting started in our businesses—or maybe if you are not seeing the growth that you want to—we start to step back from it. It's like the business is either a hobby that you can pick up and put down…or that it is a friend that has betrayed you. Think about it. Have you ever felt like this? Be super honest with me now… because you probably don't even realize you are doing it. It's like we have a slightly passive-aggressive relationship with our business, and when it doesn't do right by us… well, we respond in kind. Let's explore a bit. You have an idea for a product/service or maybe a promotion. You are super excited about it and you jump in boots and all and start posting everywhere. You get some engagement and some interest. People talk back a little—you maybe even book some calls or get a few sales! Are you following along with me?   How are you feeling now?   Starting to squirm a little?   How is the fear factor?   The sick feeling in the pit of your stomach because "this" has to "work"? You close the cart, stop the promotion and you didn't hit the goal. How are you feeling now? You most likely attach meaning to your results, which most often than not could plunge you into depression, demoralization, and a whole host of other negative emotions! So what happens when you feel like that? Where is your commitment to the business? How do you show up the next day? The next week?   Let's explore another scenario… You have been hustling away in your business for a while now, maybe months, maybe years… and you are getting a trickle of results through. But you aren't really profitable. And you aren't growing. And you aren't making the money that you feel like you "should" be making. Now…how are you feeling? Starting to wonder whether your business is going to work? Slightly panicky? Flipping from strategy and bright, shiny training to training? Completely inconsistent because you are trying to cover all the things in the hope that one of them will work? One of those annoying "post everywhere" people in FB? (Total disclosure: I was TOTALLY one of those when I was getting started! I too followed the bright shiny strategies that don't work…)    Yep…maybe you are seeing a theme here now.   Because when you are feeling like this about your business, you are coming from a place of fear and a place of lack. A place of lack means that you are coming from constantly feeling like you don't have enough, aren't getting enough, maybe even aren't good enough… it's a slippery slope. That also means that every decision you make is in response to these feelings.   So, when we start to get into the detail of what this means, there are some pretty serious implications for your business. When you are feeling like this, what sort of decisions are you making? Are you investing wisely or are you spending haphazardly?   What about your finances? Do you know what's going on? Do you treat them with respect or are you avoiding everything (the bank balance, the overdue invoices, the customer receipts…everything!)   Are you diligent with the time that you spend? Do you stick to your routines? Are you realistic about what you are able to commit to? Do you post regularly? Do you start on all the platforms and then do nothing because it is overwhelming? Do you create to-do lists and plans and goals and then never finish implementing them? Be honest now… what is this really saying about how you are showing up? If your business was a friend, then how would they be feeling about how you are treating them? I hope that by now you are starting to see what I'm trying to say.   If your business was a friend, how WOULD you be treating it?   Would you do what you say you are going to do?   Would you be a bit more consistent?   Would you respect it by paying attention to important things like birthdays and milestones? (Think accounts, bills, keeping up your website, etc.) Would you talk to them regularly (this is a friend you actually like!)? So why do you ignore your business—or not treat it with the respect that you would afford a friend? Frankly, sometimes not even an acquaintance! So, what can you change to start to see something different happening?   First, let me say that this is making a change on two levels—you are looking at both the amount of deliberate attention that you are showing your business, AND you are starting to think more about how you are showing up as a CEO. See, empowered CEOs show up for their businesses. They take them seriously and know how they are actually doing. That means knowing their numbers and listening to the things that they are trying to tell them. They are consistent, and in order to achieve that consistency, they are focused and selective in what they commit to…and then they follow through on that commitment.   Let me ask you a question.   What would it do to you if you mastered just ONE platform to post on?   Would you have time to get your message right? Would you have genuine engagement on that platform? Would you be able to be consistent and really commit to it…consistently? Making choices is what an empowered CEO does.   Focus is how they grow, because they know which parts of their businesses are important right now and they don't get distracted.   What YOU can do to start being this person is start thinking about your business as your friend. A friend that needs your consistency and your focus and your dedication. A friend who needs you to take them seriously and do what you say you are going to do.   Now, if this struck a bit of a cord with you, and you are feeling like an A-HA moment is tickling the outsides of your mental gymnastics, then I'd love to invite you to book a Biz Growth Breakthrough session with me. In 30 minutes, we will nail down the three-step strategy that you need to implement to create the breakthrough you are looking for in your business this year. And I've been getting so many questions (usually with a "yeah but" in front of them) about how you can actually make that dream business real.   Gorgeous woman, I am beyond grateful that you joined me today, and I hope that you have taken away a nugget of thought-provoking goodness. Episode 23: Who Does Your Business Need You To Be?

Episode 23 - Who does your business need you to be? Hello there, my friend! This time, we are talking about who your business really needs you to be and how you can be showing up differently TODAY. Now, you have probably heard someone say online, "If you want your dream business, then you need to show up as the CEO that your dream business needs." Ummm… What? On your good days, this probably sends you into a frenzy of overwhelm and self-recriminations.   On your bad days? I'm guessing it makes you want to throw the computer out the window.   Love, I know that you are determined to grow your biz. That you are committed… that you probably feel like you have tried all the things… When I was getting Nic T coaching off the ground, I was completely unsure about what to do next and like a deer in the headlights at the prospect of just how much there was to learn.   It can be daunting as you need to be everywhere. It is challenging to figure out how to be what your business needs NOW, much less being what your FUTURE business needs. Let's talk about what it feels like to be in FLOW. Can you think of a time where things felt EFFORTLESS in your business? Maybe, it's when you are working with your favourite client, or creating a new product, or you love writing and when you hit your stride writing your blog… Got one? Great.   Now, think about how that feels…   When you know you have it covered, it boosts your confidence and gives you inspiration on what to do next. The whole thing does not feel like hard work at all, right? You want to be feeling like that the majority of your time running your business. Except for when we are stretching outside our comfort zone… that can be a bit shakey. But you know what? When you are really starting to get things humming in your business, even doing the uncomfortable stuff starts to feel great! OK - I hear you, you might be thinking I sound a bit crazy there… ;) So, why is it so hard to be like that all the time. What does it mean to "be who your business needs you to be”? Most excellent questions, my friend. For a start, there are a very few people who are 100% confident in themselves, their skills, their experience, heck, even their dreams. We doubt our own dreams! So that means that we are way outside our comfort zone when we decide to start our own businesses.   Throw into the mix the fact that as mums, we are also dealing with ALL the mum guilt and expectations that we and everyone else puts on us. And it's a pretty challenging time when we are learning so much constantly.   Plus, your supersized dreams start out creating more pressure for you until you start to get comfortable with having big dreams.   Most of us are struggling to just show up every day… much less do it confidently.   And it comes down to belief too. How hard are you believing in what is possible? In your dreams coming true? In achieving your goals for your business this year… for this month?   So to start to show up as who your business needs you to be, you first need to figure out who that person is.   Let's play with a little visualisation here. Close your eyes and think about the following: What does your dream business look like?   How are you serving?   Who are you serving?   How much money are you making?   Where are you working? How much are you working? How do your clients find you? WHAT DO YOU FEEL LIKE?     THIS IS THE CLINCHER HERE… What do you feel like when you visualise that incredible future business? As the CEO, running the company, how does it feel? What do you feel every single day?   In order to figure out who your business needs you to be, you need to know how it feels to be running your dream business. Those feelings are what you can learn how to create in you right now.   Our feelings are an indicator of our state of mind. Of how our energy is flowing, of the things that we are attracting into our world.   Ever noticed how you decide that you are having a bad day and so you feel crappy and then everything that happens to you after that is crappy? The hard truth is that you CHOSE for that experience on that day. I'm not saying that bad things don't happen. Of course, they do! But we decide how we react, how we feel and then how we choose to let that set of emotions keep impacting us.   When you figure out how you want to be feeling as the CEO of your successful business, and then work hard to create those feelings, you MUST make different decisions, different choices, all day every day to do that.   You are activating the law of attraction, inviting that ideal future in, following the plan that is laid out for you, and best of all, CHOOSING to make it real. Which means that you are choosing to do the things that need to be done to get you there. You are following the opportunities and possibilities when they are presented to you. And you are just trusting and believing in yourself and your business that it will BE that successful business you so desire.   All sound a bit woo woo to you?   I get that.   What about this— If you don't choose to show up as a confident CEO now, how in saint's name do you expect people to take you seriously?   If you don't believe in yourself and the value that you have to offer, why would a potential client believe in you? IT is swings and round-abouts, my friend, and YOU are in the driver’s seat.   THIS is how you show up as the person that your successful business needs you to be.   Now, if this struck a bit of a cord with you, and you are feeling like an A-HA moment is tickling the outsides of your mental gymnastics, then I'd love to invite you to book a Biz Growth Breakthrough session with me. Episode 21: Stop Relying On “Hard Work” For Your Success...And What To Do Instead.

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 1, 2019 19:00

Well, hey there! Are you ready to learn something new to grow your thriving business and get the freedom you are looking for in your lives? Today, we are talking about a really exciting topic—what you need to “stop doing”, to succeed! My view is actually pretty different to what nearly everyone else is saying. There’s a lot of noise in the online world, and you will notice that it is full of advice on what you “should” be doing. And that’s a pretty deep rabbit hole to go down. Because unless we are fully in alignment with our businesses, with ourselves, with our purpose and what we want to achieve, then it is almost impossible to know exactly what it is that we need to be doing to create our results. But because we don’t trust ourselves, because we don’t really believe in what’s possible, and because we don’t have the confidence to show up as ourselves as our unique expertise, we may find ourselves chasing out all the bright, shiny objects. There is a finite number of ways to market your products and services, and if you really go into the details of all the mechanisms that people are selling to you online, you will notice that. Now, I’m absolutely not saying that they don’t work—you need to use them, but you need to use the right ones for you. And that’s what we’re talking about today. Going against the grain really is important in more ways than you think there is because it is actually more about authenticity. The ‘work hard’ approach What most people think, is that if they just work hard enough, things will change. If I just keep going. If I just sacrifice this one thing… And we think that if we just show up more, if we’re just more convincing, if we’re just adding more free value, then people will want to work with us and buy our products. We think that if we just work harder, longer, and take more clients, then we will reach a tipping point. The thing is, you will see growth, but it is nothing like what you are really capable of achieving. And even worse, you can’t sustain it and you definitely can’t scale it. As mums in business who are still in the corporate world, you want to create a business that will survive without you in it every single day (heck, don’t we all want that???). You want a business that will scale and give you the security you need so that you can leave your corporate role and be able to choose how you spend your time. You want to be able to spend more time with your family while making an impact on other people’s lives by doing the thing that you are passionate about. Let me ask you this. If you are honest with yourself, are you hustling really hard? Are you subscribing to the mindset that if you just keep working harder, doing more, being in more social media platform, your business will grow? Is that you? So, is the resentment starting to show? That’s what’s going to happen with this ‘work hard’ method. You start to resent doing the things you have to do to get results. That’s why this approach isn’t sustainable. The shift that you need to make right now to completely change where you are at in 12 months’ time When you stop trying to do everything, when you stop to be everywhere, and when you show up how you want to show up instead of how you think other people want you to show up, the relief will be immediate. I was absolutely astounded at how quickly the release came for me when I started to show up just as me and not how I thought other people wanted me to show up. When it wasn’t natural, it just created more added pressure. Your instincts are already telling you how to show up in your business. You just need to start tuning in to listen to them. When you became a mum, people told you to trust your instincts. And that’s really powerful advice in your business too love. It comes from trusting yourself. From not caring much about what other people are thinking. Learn to trust yourself, stop doing all the things at once, and allow yourself some space so you will see the path forward for creating the results and the business that you want. You will also learn to listen to your ideal client more. Slow down enough so that you can listen and learn and figure out the right way to go forward before you accelerate. Then you will accelerate in the right way because you are accelerating on the path that you are meant to be taking. And because you are delivering what your ideal client wants (as well as what they need!), you start doing things naturally that create massive transformations for them, that’s when you start to show up as the version of yourself that your business needs you to be. With air to breathe, you can be innovative and unleash your expertise and creativity. If you continue just working hard, your growth can’t be sustainable. But if you slow down and align your strategy, your growth will be exponential. If you are wondering how you can go ahead and do this, you can learn the five step framework that I teach my students in my Premier Program in the upcoming free training, "How to up level your business: is your 5 step plan to grow while finding a happier, confident, stress-free you" will teach you everything that you need to get back in touch with the right strategy for your business, and where you need to be focussing your energy so taht you will actually start to grow...without feeling completely overwhelmed! Episode 22: Why Setting Your Intention for the Year Is Important

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 1, 2019 18:56

Hi there, ladies! We’re almost finished with the financial year, but this episode on setting intentions for the year is going to be super helpful for you as you move into FY2020! It’s truly never too late to refocus your attention, so let’s talk about why it is important and how it will help you finally hit your goals! How do you go about setting goals? There are lots of different ways: BHAG, SMART, Dreams, 90-day goals, 30-day goals, the short-term planner… In fact, there is a whole industry around goal setting.  You can definitely achieve things with these goal-setting methods. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to market them. And each one will tell you that the others aren't as good… But they won't all work for you…and maybe none of them will work for you! Because one of the most important parts of setting goals is being sure that you are setting the right ones and that they are in alignment with where you want to go.  Love, I know that you are probably in a place where you are feeling a bit weary.   You realise that it is time to set goals again.   You drum up energy and enthusiasm to get into it.   You dig out your dreams, dust off the discontent and disillusionment because this time it's going to be more successful. Isn't it? Oops! No, push that little voice of doubt down, no place for self-doubt in goal setting! And you start goal setting…arbitrarily picking the goals that you think you need to achieve. Then you moderate them down or up depending on your energy levels and personality type… Then (again, depending on your personality type) you either turn them into detailed plans for implementation, or you pin them up on your board and keep doing what you were doing before.   Until it's time to check in on how you are going—which might be an anxiety-ridden process full of more self-doubt or an uplifting experience. Any of this sounds familiar?   You start each goal-setting period with great intentions—you WANT to be able to set the right goals and to achieve them.   Of course, you do! We are in this business bag to create results that are going to allow us more freedom, whether that is from financial stress, to create more space to have a bigger impact, to be able to decide more about how we spend our time You want to set your goals with the confidence that you are working towards the right things, and that you will achieve them every single time. I want you to think back to a time that you achieved your goals. Perhaps it was in your corporate role… you had absolute clarity on what you needed to achieve (because there was a job description). You set goals that hit those objectives and then some because you want to stretch yourself, maybe work towards that promotion or bonus or a new role that you are working towards.   Are you imagining and remembering with me here?   So you have absolute clarity on exactly what you need to do to get to the next step that you are working towards…you know exactly what you need to focus on to get those things done and you just move forward taking action.   Then at the end of the performance period (which means you also know exactly what the non-negotiable deadlines are for these goals), you recap with your leader where you are at, what has gone well and what needs improvement and where you are going to focus for the next performance period.   Am I close to the mark with this example? It was definitely how I rolled with my career goals.   And you WANT it to be like that in your business.   WHY can't you just set a goal and go and achieve it like before?   WHY is it a doubt-ridden experience?   WHY are you constantly fighting your self-talk to move forward? WHY does it feel so HARD all the time when before you just got in and achieved it?   They are all great questions.   So let's talk about WHY it feels like that in your business.   I'm going to start with assurance that this is all actually a good thing!   WHAAATTTT???   Yeah, I know I sound crazy, but if you weren't invested, if you didn't actually care, then you wouldn't be experiencing all that mental goodness around your goals setting and achieving.   So take heart, my friend.   You struggle to set and achieve goals effortlessly in your business BECAUSE you are so invested in the outcome.   You feel all the doubt and self-flagellation and the sensation of wading through glue BECAUSE your business is about you. Your career (ironically perhaps) has nothing to do with you. It is all about someone else. And while you are working towards something, there are no dire consequences if you don't get there. How many times have you missed a goal in your career and been able to easily explain it away without losing one iota of sleep over it?   When you are in business for yourself, it becomes ALL about you. There is no one else to 'blame' (which is not the right response to achievement by the way) when things don't go according to plan.   And we tie ourselves up in knots over this.   You need your goals to be tied to MORE than just a numerical result. They need to be more than just the thing you are pretty sure you need to master next. They need to really matter. Be a driving force to achieving your dreams and your ideal life.   How the heck can you get ahead of all of this goal setting uncertainty then?   With clear intentions.   The #1 thing that is getting in your way and holding you back in any part of your business is belief. Or more accurately, the lack of self-belief.   So when I say "clear intentions," I'm not talking about just having a word or phrase for the year or setting a vague direction that you want to head in this year.   I'm talking about KNOWING in your core exactly what this year is going to be about for you and for your business. In detail.   It this year about growth?   What kind of growth?   What are the numbers you want to hit?   Why do you want to hit THOSE numbers?   How do they ultimately move you towards your dreams?   How are they aligned with the purpose and impact of your business?   Notice that none of those questions is about HOW you are going to achieve the intention. The how will come, that is where your goal setting comes in, and how you go about getting things done…and a little about the magic of staying open to being guided, and allowing opportunity in. The important thing to know when you are setting an intention for your year is that you are 100% committed to it. That means that this is non-negotiable. Now, I know you know what I mean intellectually when I say non-negotiable, but do you know what it feels like in your gut?   Think about a situation with your kiddos where you were categorical that something was going to happen for them. It could be big or small, but at the end of the day, there was absolutely no way that the thing wasn't going to happen…come hell or the wrath of a protective mama. Got one in mind?   Good. THAT is how I want you to feel about your intentions.   It's not easy to nail down this kind of commitment—or to stay the course of ALL the mindset work it will take to get you there—but then, none of the truly worthy things in life are easy now are they?   When you are ready to work out what you need to do to achieve that intention, then you need to make sure that you have your Thriving Business Roadmap by your side. Today’s post is all about how you can start “getting out of your own way” in your business.    We are so good at helping others with "well-meaning advice" about what they 'should' do to overcome that challenge that they are facing. Or watching from a lovely safe distance while people dither around just not doing the THING that they need to do to move forward.   But the reality is that it is something that affects all of us. Every time we try to do something new or a task, something that always generates a big result, or which actually moves us forward towards a goal or even your dream life, resistance is something that shows up. Let me give you some examples of what I'm talking about and you tell me which ones are ringing true for you: Procrastination - putting off something that is important in favour of “urgent” or irrelevant things. This is the first major way that resistance shows up in your business. I can put my hand up for this one. 100%! There’s this thing that you know you need to be doing… and sometimes (...or often…) it’s the one last thing that will put you into action. Maybe you’ve recorded your video but haven’t sent it out to your list. Maybe you’ve written the blog but you haven’t posted it on your website. All those little things we tend to put off are the things that are actually going to move us to get results. Can you relate?  Usually you can be found tinkering with administrative details in your business rather than taking the important actions and THAT my friend is procrastination. Self-doubt - perhaps this shows up as doubt of your skills, experience, or ability to create value for your clients. Or maybe you have a subconscious belief that you can’t do something, when in fact you haven’t even tried. Endless consumption of other people's content and courses to 'learn new skills' that you 'need' to progress. Sometimes we need inspiration before we can create our content. But sometimes it stops us from creating our original content or it scares us and makes us belief that we’re never going to be good enough like the thought leaders we’re following.  Fear of doing a particular thing that you need to do to achieve your goals. You know what to do to build your Facebook profile and raise your visibility, but you are scared to do it. Resistance amplifies that fear. Daydreaming is actually a massive form of resistance at play. Do you find yourself dreaming ‘what could be’? Dreaming about your business or your life and what it would look like when you generated this result? We may say that it is us putting ourselves to the universe and what we want to achieve. But sometimes, it can be a form or resistance because we’re spending excessive time mapping our dream or vision. Getting stuck doing your non-creative work—you know, the unimportant admin that gets in the way! Instead of writing your email for your clients, you spend much time on other things like managing your accounts. These are the tasks that you can pay someone to do for you. Those tasks that can be done without the need for your specific input so you can focus on doing more important stuff.  Indecision - struggling to make a decision that you know is going to move you forward. Maybe you can’t decide exactly who your ideal client is, what sort of business you are going to do. That is a form of resistance. Instead, you should take action and make changes as necessary as you go along.   First up—and this is important—THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU! We ALL struggle with this and there is one heck of a good reason why.   So what is resistance really? Your brain is hardwired to protect you, and that includes naturally resisting change that moves you towards something that is different to what you have now.   Usually, it is something that matters, whether it be forming new habits in health and wellness goals, working on a new project, changing the direction of your business to gain greater results—your brain will follow a deeply ingrained path to move you away from perceived discomfort.   It takes super deliberate and determined focus and action to shift your thinking to a space of action and resiliency. SOME SIMPLE STRATEGIES FOR OVERCOMING RESISTANCE: Recognise that it is there. What does resistance look like for you? Do you know what it feels like when it is resistance getting in your way? It's important to be able to recognise when you are struggling with it so that you can put things in place to get past it. For me, it is usually procrastinating doing something that is going to put me out there… Or something that I know is going to produce a result, avoiding doing a 'thing' that I find boring or that drains my energy… Or planning too many things and letting some of the important things fall too far down that priority list for the day. Figure out why it is there. Do you know why you are avoiding the 'thing'? What are the results that you are expecting to achieve and what change will that bring for you? What will you have to do differently or what expectations will you have created? Are you feeling fear? Of getting it done, of the results it might bring, of success? Fear is not always rational and it is natural to fear the unknown—especially when you are hard-wired to resist discomfort! Perhaps you are you just avoiding something that drains you of energy. Explore that a little. Are you worried about what people will think? Why are you worried about that? Does it really matter?  It is important to do some reflection on what is holding you back so that you can take action in the most effective way. I find that journaling my reflections is helpful. Talking through with my coach is also a great way to get to the bottom of what is really bothering me. What is your action? This isn't always about "feeling the fear and doing it anyway". Sometimes you need to listen to what is stopping you. Maybe it's not the right timing. Maybe you are not feeling that the thing is in line with how you want to show up in your business. So make sure you listen to what is going on. Sometimes for me, it’s about spending some time re-energising me. I'm an introvert, so while I have no problem putting myself out there, it takes a lot of energy... If I'm trying to do that when I'm completely depleted, then I'm not going to add value anyway. And sometimes you do just need to find a way to rip the bandaid off and get the thing done but think outside the box. Do you need to bring a business bestie in to help you get over the line, do it together or have a mini-challenge, maybe even with your clients? Be what and who you need to be for yourself too.  You TOLD me that focus and how to create consistent income were your number one challenges—so let's dive into that with some straight forward ways to get your booty into action to overcome them! Episode 19: What Does Confidence Have To Do With Success

Play Episode Listen Later May 14, 2019 22:30

Episode Nineteen: What Does Confidence Have To Do With Success It's pretty ironic that in striving to be more confident we can undermine our confidence completely. So in today’s post we are talking about what exactly IS confidence and how is it linked to our success…in any part of our lives. Little hint: It's something you have more influence over than you think. So, what is confidence? A dictionary definition says it is “the feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something.” Notice a few things here: FEELING, BELIEF, FAITH. Confidence isn't a concrete concept and yet we think of it as a tangible thing and we place all this meaning on it and what it depends on. WHEN I have this experience or achieve this result, THEN I will have the confidence to do XYZ. We think it’s tangible but it’s not. It’s about our feelings, our belief systems, and having faith in outcomes or that something will happen. Think about the words we often use: I just don't have the confidence to do or try that… I'm not a confident person… And we tell ourselves these stories about our confidence that are just that. Stories. Based on our experiences, or the things that people have said to us, or what we have observed or read…everything is definitely influenced by our environment because confidence is just another mindset thing. It was one of the turning points for me when I realized that confidence is not factual. You are not “confident” or “not confident.” It’s all about belief. It’s all about how you feel about things. Let me ask you this: Do you feel confident that you know what to do to brush your teeth in the morning? Or to put clothes on? What about walking or breathing? Confidence is about being able to rely on someone to do something or for something to happen. And yet we make it about self-belief and self-identity. We make it a big scary thing that becomes an excuse for not doing the things that we know we need to do to make an impact on our business or our lives. Think about a hobby or skill that you have. Maybe you love knitting. Do you doubt your ability to start a knitting project? Maybe you love to bake a cake or to collect crystals. Maybe you like football or essential oils. Do you doubt your ability to do those things? When you think about your hobbies, you don't let those things define your self-worth and identity! But the meaning that we attach to how "confident" we feel, we also attach to what we can achieve with the thing that we are attempting. When that is associated with our business, that is amplified to incredible heights! Think about this: How do you feel about the results that you want to get in your business? Excited, fearful, anxious, pressured, energised, rollercoaster of all those things? They are such intense emotions. And how do you feel after something goes your way or doesn't?   So what if it was nothing but a result?   What if you could detach your feeling about yourself from the actual result?   That is what I'm talking about when I say “what does confidence have to do with success?”.   The meaning that you attach to success, the definition of success for you, we tie it all up in our sense of self-worth… our confidence that we can achieve. When really, confidence is just about belief, trust, faith in yourself to do something. It's not about the outcome, it’s just about taking action. Having a go. What if you could start to find your confidence in just having a go at something. Being confident that you are ok with stepping outside your comfort zone a bit? And what if, by having the confidence to step outside your comfort zone and have a go, you learned something that you could then apply as learning? That would start to move towards a result—everything in your business generates either the result that you wanted, or the lesson that you needed to learn (James Wedmore gave me this nugget and I love it!). Confidence can move you to a point where you have “success.” Success is whatever you decide it needs to be. We all define success what success looks like for ourselves. ...and then, only we are responsible for making sure that we do the things that make us feel successful. At the end of the day though, it’s all just about feelings and resisting placing a meaning on the outcome (that is, don’t make it mean something whether you do, or don’t reach the goal or get a certain result…don’t make that outcome mean something about your identity). You CAN have the confidence that you will take action to get a different result next time...you CAN influence your own actions and what you do next. So - why do I talk about mindset, self-belief, confidence, and finding the right way up for you? Because that is what it is all about in business—the work that we do on ourselves to release the outcome and start to become a leader of yourself and your business, making informed and calculated choices…but mostly having a go and doing something consistently. You will get results if you take consistent action and you focus on learning and increasing the things that get results, and making changes to the things that don’t get results. Have a strategy. Know where you’re going and what that’s gonna look like. Know what you’re focusing on right now to get you to the next point. That’s why I talk about this stuff. It’s so important. So, are you doing your affirmations? Have you explored the limiting beliefs that are holding you back? Do you know where your confidence beliefs are actually sitting?   Learn where to focus on the stage of business that you are at so that you can have the confidence to move forward and grow a that thriving business in a way that you will love. Episode 17: What They Really Mean When They Say "Change Your Mindset"

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 29, 2019 16:51

Episode Seventeen: What Does “Change Your Mindset” Really Mean   Up there with some of the most overused words - mindset!!! What the heck is it, what does it actually mean for your business, and where on earth do you start?   Nobody ever thinks that they need to work on their mindset - it’s like taking vitamins, we know they are important but who prioritises them?? (no? Just me? Ok then…) I’m gonna help you understand what this “mindset” thing is all about today and why you should care.   ------------ What I have found both working on my own journey to what Nic T Coaching looks like today, and in working with my clients is that 90% of the things that we struggle with are about figuring out who we are...   ...and trusting ourselves to show up as that person in our business.   Most women that I talk to, mums in business, even people that are growing their career, most of them are pretending to be someone else to get ahead.   Very few people are really showing up exactly as themselves with all their beliefs and imperfections on show—usually, we are trying to match up to what we think others want us to be.   That means you are probably not being authentic about yourself and genuine about your values and the message you want to get across.   If you’re an entrepreneur and you want to attract an ideal client but you’re showing up or pretending to be the person you think they want you to be, they are likely just not going to listen to you.   Learning how to really show up in an authentic, confident way is what I’m talking about today - and it’s gonna take changing your mindset my friend.   I want you to start considering:   How can I shift my behaviors today? How can I deliberately step a little bit out of my comfort zone and do it repeatedly? How can I train myself to think differently, trust in my ability, to believe in what is possible for me and my business?     How can I change the way that I’m showing up with authenticity?   If you are with someone you really trust—your best friend or your spouse, your family, someone whom you have no boundaries with, whom you are totally open with—how do you show up when you’re with that person?   I want you to think about that for a minute and sit and feel how you are, who you are when you’re in that comfortable place. Are you happy? Confident? Willing to ask challenging questions? Willing to call someone out when needed?   How is that version of you different to how you are showing up to your business today?   The more often you show up authentically as yourself and share your message, the more your thought habits start to change. Everything is habitual and our brain is hardwired to repeat thinking patterns. Your challenge is to shift those patterns!   When you start to behave in a different way—when you acknowledge how that makes you feel...   ...acknowledge the situation that you were in and the response that you got from people   ...and really pay attention to what you were thinking and how you could have acted/thought differently   ...and then do it again and again and again, your brain starts to learn that that kind of self awareness is now normal for you.   But it takes time. We have to shift our thought patterns, our mindset, to get different results.   The more you do that, the more you are going to see a shift in your headspace, a shift in your mindset. As you are creating that shift in how you are thinking, you are also taking actions for your business and making the decisions that will have you seeing results.   When people say “change your mindset,” it sounds simple, and truly it’s not complex!! But I know how hard it can be to constantly challenge your thinking.   Once you start to believe in what is possible for your business, that’s when it actually becomes possible. And that happens through deliberate action.   Can you dig deep and make that decision to take your business to the next level? Or to start your business…all so that you can create that path to get you out of the feeling of being trapped. To start to move towards the version of yourself that is running a successful 6 or maybe even 7 figure business?   I'm offering something really special at the moment, my calendar is open for a FREE Biz Growth Breakthrough Call and it's only for a limited time, I have a few spaces and don't know how long I'll be keeping time open in my calendar. Episode 18: Using Storytelling To Build Your Message Foundation

Episode Eighteen: Using Storytelling To Build Your Message Foundation What does it mean to you when I say “storytelling”? You’d be forgiven for thinking that I was dancing down a path of fairy tales but I promise that there is both art and science to creating messages that convert. It is hard to know where to start when you’re talking about copy. Don’t you agree? Copy is anything to do with words that you brought for your business to get your message out there and to grow your business. It can be challenging to create but honestly most of that is in your head, and it is one of the keys to your success. Nailing your copy helps you stand out from the crowd in terms of your message. It helps you really connect with your ideal client. But it’s so important to find your voice! There’s so much noise in the marketing world today that if you don’t find a way to get comfortable with your voice and your message, it can really let you down! Creating copy is a learned skill, and it’s true that practice makes perfect. But love, if you let fear of failure hold you back then you’ll never get things moving! When you put yourself out there, you learn about what works, and what really falls flat. You make changes as necessary, and you grow and get better with time. The good news, ladies, is that you can absolutely fast track the learning curve! And that’s what we’re going to talk through today. First, what is your message foundation? The foundation of your message is your brand and business identity. It is about you, knowing who you are and what you stand for. It’s about setting in stone that business identity. What is the reason that your business exists? What is the impact that you want to make? How are you showing up in your business to bring that impact to life and take it further? And then it becomes about how can your ideal client relate to you? How are you ensuring that you are consistent in your messages and what you put forward? Let me give you some examples. I deliver training on a whole bunch of different topics related to being in business, primarily online business. But there is a foundational message that goes through everything that I have to say, and that is targeted for my ideal clients—professional mums who want to get ahead in business, make an impact, and do something different. My message is about you being able to step up and be your most confident self. How can you start to be the CEO that your future business needs you to be right now? That’s what it takes for you to grow. So we talk about confidence, what’s holding you back, a whole bunch of mindset stuff that’s really important for you to grow. That is what I want you to start thinking about. What is your core message? Think about what you stand for, what values you have in your business. How do you want to be described? What message do you have? I delve about these into details in my Five Focus Secrets. It’s about five secrets to focusing on the right things in your business to create consistent growth in your audience AND your income. Make sure you grab your copy here >>http://bit.ly/fivefocussecrets The art of storytelling Now, you’ve got your foundational message. But how do you bring that to life? How do you connect with people through your copy? Let’s talk about the art of storytelling. What you want to do with your copy is to engage with people, invoke their emotions and make them want to connect with you. Storytelling helps you make your message relatable. It helps you to make it something that your ideal client wants to know more about. Did you know that our brains make connections in organic ways? That’s why mind-mapping works well for some people because the way we build connections between words and ideas is quite an organic process. How often have you been listening to something and then there’s a spark of inspiration that’s completely unrelated to what you’re currently doing? It could be something that you’ve been working on and suddenly the idea comes when you’re taking a bath or listening to some music. Yet, we are taught to think and communicate in a linear fashion…with logic. I spent over 10 years in a big four consulting company, and in the corporate world, it is full of structured processes—proper pronunciation, full sentence structures, logical presentations and ordering of ideas, etc. Very scientific processes. Logical. Linear. And so when we designed our products and services, we did it logically, with rational thought and design—it is almost impossible to go straight from that to writing copy about benefits and impact in a way that makes my ideal client want to connect with me. That is where learning how to tell stories well will help you. Think about fairy tales and movies—there is a basic structure to stories that draws us in. There’s a common pattern—we get emotionally invested in the outcome of whatever the problems are, we walk with them as they solve them, and then we get to the happily ever after part. What you need to learn is how to tell a good story and use it in your copy. Start with your story. Before you write copy for your clients, it’s time to discover your own story with some longhand writing. If you don’t have a story to tell, then you are just another commodity. Your story sets you apart from your competitors. It is how your ideal client truly connects with you. It is not just about standing out and getting noticed. It’s about building something that people care about and that they are willing to buy into. They can connect with you because they know that you really understand where they are at. It’s about framing your point of view. And about showing that you are a real person with a real How do you construct a story? There are four main steps to a story: The Balance The Unbalance The Quest for Resolution The New Balance Literally, start with “Once upon a time.” I actually recommend that you go back and read some fairy tales to refamiliarise yourself with how the story structure works! They start with “Once upon a time”. The Balance. The day-to-day normal. And then one day something happens that creates turmoil in some way. That is The Unbalance. Realizing a problem or something that has gone wrong. Then The Quest for Resolution to try to solve the problem they are facing. Then there’s a tipping point. Until finally, something happens that resolves the issue. This is the last part of your story, the New Balance—until finally happiness was restored. The reason that storytelling is important is that it creates an emotional connection with your reader. Using this structure leads them through the message that you are trying to get across. We are conditioned to this kind of storytelling from a very young age - it has all the emotional and psychological triggers tht draw us in. If you sat down and wrote a longhand story about your ideal client and where they are at once you’ve resolved their issues for them, you could tell the story of what that looks like ... that can then become the foundation of your copy, the reference that you go back to whenever you are writing new copy. Make sure that your message is woven through all of the elements of the story. Finally, as you are constructing your story, it should have a point. Otherwise, it won’t hold attention. That means that you want your ideal client to understand that the thing that was the turning point for them to get to the new balance, is the solution to their problem… the solution that only you know how to provide. Learning the art of storytelling also means that you have to focus on learning something that makes that story compelling. It might be a single goal or something wonderful, a drama or a deeper truth. It can set you apart in writing your copy and like everything that is worth learning, it’s just practice that will help you perfect it. Storytelling, getting deep into your copy and really knowing your message that you are putting out there is one of the critical elements that all great marketers need to master. And if you are in business and looking to grow and stay in business? Then you need to become the best marketer that you can be. It is so important that you are able to link your ideal client with the perfect solution to their problem, and that you know how to construct that into an offer that is simply irresistible to them. Episode 16: The Possibilities Of Creating Stronger Connections

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 10, 2019 18:48

Episode 16: The possibilities of creating stronger connections   How To Create Stronger Connections With Your Ideal Clients     Hello there again! Today, we’re talking about creating stronger connections with our ideal clients.   I really believe that we are creatures of connection. Isn't that what we all strive for?   I remember when I was a new mom with my firstborn. I craved connection.   I pretty much lived at my best friend’s house for the first three months of my daughter’s life! I was always there.   She had a baby too, her second, so I craved connection and it helped that it’s with someone who clearly knows what she’s doing because her first daughter is still alive!   I would be on the phone to talk to people. And when people reach out to me, I was like a moth to a light. Everyone needs a connection. Our newborn, our children, our partners. Even our friends and our families. It’s in our human nature.   We are ALWAYS seeking to connect with others in some way. It's absolutely no different in our business and yet we don't make that a priority.   Why do we shy away from connecting with our business tribe? Why don't we do what it takes to get in front of people and build strong connections?   Fear? Resistance? Procrastination? Lack of confidence?   Well, it’s all of the above!   Let me ask you—how often have you felt better about your biz and where you are at after talking to someone?   It happens to me every single time.   Every time I talk to someone, every time I connect with someone in my biz in a genuine way, it ups my energy!   I feel amazing about what I am trying to do. It reminds me that I can do an impact and a difference for other people. And it inspires me to do more to make that happen.   It’s not different for your ideal client, darling! You can energize them by connecting with them, by making them realize that someone genuinely cares about their situations.   It’s not hard to do.   So let’s jump into these tips that will help you show up differently in your biz and create that connection. How do you create strong connections with your ideal client?   Make the effort to reach out personally.   It’s about making time for it.   Yeah, I can imagine you saying “I don’t have time for that.”   That’s what I was doing in the past 12 months!   But we all have 24 hours a day. So what I’m saying is that you need to make this one of your priorities.   It doesn't have to eat much of your time. Take advantage of the available tools online!   Start a conversation with someone you have connected with meaningfully.   If you’ve connected with someone more than once, you can bring that on Messenger to build a genuine connection, not to make a sales pitch, ok?   Tell that person that you loved talking to her in XYZ group and thought you should connect with her on Messenger... if that is okay with her.   Show up in a real way and get involved in people’s lives and businesses.   There are Facebook Groups where you can show up in a real way. Pick a few groups that are really well connected. Pick the ones that might share your values and have your ideal clients.   Then, show up and engage, and do it repeatedly. And again, keep in mind that you are genuinely trying to build connection and to serve, not to market your business or sell them any product.   Invite people to reply to your emails.   If you have an email list, ask them genuine questions when you send them a note, and invite them to reply.   When they do reply, make sure you go back and forth with them. Get to know them more.   You’ll know they are craving a connection with you for some reasons when they make the effort to reply to your emails. So it is important to make the effort and prioritize them.   Meet people in person!   I think we don’t do this more often these days, what’s with being online and all. But there are fabulous meet-ups out there that you girls can participate with.   I’m part of Real Entrepreneur Moms. And the reason I’m part of that is that I think meeting people in person and making a real connection is so important.   It helps people to get to know you and to trust you. They get to know your business and what you offer, and they can even refer you to other people they know.   Again, your intention should be a connection, not sales.   Jump on calls with people.   Your email marketing or your social campaigns won’t do all the conversions for you. Jump on calls with people and invite people to talk with you about their issues. I highly recommend this, particularly earlier in your business!   It's always about being genuine and caring.   It's always about wanting to make a difference.   It's always about valuing yourself enough to share how you can help.   Deliberately showing up and connecting every single day is super important so that people know that you are genuine.   Are you ready to make a connection strategy? Write down three ways you can start connecting with people, exert efforts and allocate time for it among your priorities. And do it deliberately.   Building strong connections with people is one of the first steps that will lead you to reach your goals.   If you want to grow a business that is truly thriving and hitting those goals that you are striving for, get your copy of The Thriving Business Roadmap here.   Looking for a go-getting tribe of women that you can hit goals with? Episode 14: Releasing Expectation And The Meaning That We Attach To Outcomes

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 3, 2019 24:02

Episode Fourteen: Releasing Expectation And The Meaning That We Attach To Outcomes   I truly believe that there is no such thing as failure - there is only the result that you get and the lessons that you learned.   Today, let’s talk about what it means to learn how to release the expectations that we place on ourselves and our businesses and how the meaning that we attach to the outcomes that we achieve impacts upon our success.   Why have I gone all woo-woo on you lately? We’ve talked a lot about mindset, beliefs, being open to opportunities and deliberate about your happiness, and how that impact your business.   I promise there is science in my madness. Well, I’m actually a scientist at heart. I studied biomedical sciences. And I know there is a scientific foundation to a lot of stuff that people talk today, like our belief system, how our thoughts control our actions, the thought patterns that we have that influence our success.   So let's dive in! Let’s talk about expectation and the meaning that we attach to outcomes.   Releasing expectation   We all create an expectation in almost everything that happens in our life. Whether it’s a conversation with someone or something that we want to try for the first time, we always have an expectation of what the outcome would be.   What we don’t often realize is that these expectations that we create are based on our experiences to date. How your life has gone up to this point shapes the expectations you put about your future.   Now, if you want a different outcome from what you have right now, what got you here won’t get you there. If you want your business to grow and create transformation for your clients and even your own life, then you need to change the way you think. You need to change your approach and open yourself up for new experiences and ways to achieve the outcomes that we want.   While our expectations and actions are shaped by our experiences, we need to re-examine them a bit. Because subconsciously or consciously, with our strong expectations of something, we deliberately do things that will make those outcomes come to life. You know what? We could be sabotaging ourselves.   If we’re going in without being open, without seeing what we can learn from our experiences, what we can improve, we are sabotaging ourselves for much bigger things. Does that make sense?   Attaching meaning to outcomes   Similar to expectations when we have an idea of how something would go, when we set a goal or walk into a situation, and there are several possible outcomes, we attach a meaning to each of them.   Well, you could experience the feeling of failure. But if you dig deeper to what you have actually done, your journey towards that goal may have actually been amazing. If you take a look at where you started compared to where you are right now and in relation to your goal, you may have done significant improvement already.   Don’t negate the learnings you gained, the better results you achieved, and the amazing outcome you’ve delivered to your clients.   Attaching a meaning of failure to your outcome undermines the amazing improvement you’ve achieved. It could sink into your subconscious and make you believe that you can’t achieve your bigger goals. It can harm your courage and confidence in your ability to achieve greater success in the future.   By attaching meaning to outcomes, you are undermining your ability to learn. If you can release that meaning and if you can release the outcome and not attach all these stuff to the situation or the goal that you are trying to achieve, it becomes an experiment.   What do you think happens when you don't hit a goal that you have attached massive expectation and meaning to?   It stops your momentum and kills your confidence.   How hard is it to get up and do it again? It’s really hard, isn’t it?   Maybe we just got our timeline wrong, but that big goal is still achievable. There are just some learning that we have to do along the way in order to hit it.   How timid are you likely to be if you shouted it from the rafters and hit a different outcome? If it were me, I would be embarrassed. I would feel unworthy. I would be incredibly diminished. My confidence means a lot to me, so I would be really, really timid. That straight away changes my ability to commit.   That’s why I say that you are exactly where you are meant to be in your journey and your business right now. You are exactly in the right place for you and your business right now.   You might have missed out on the timing for your goal, but you are in the journey and you are learning the stuff that you need to learn to hit that goal in the timing that is right for you.   If you constrain how committed you are, how strongly you show up, how willing you are to challenge yourself and your beliefs, and how you strive to be more, to be better and to improve, than you won’t hit your goals faster. But if you don’t constrain these and if you just keep on going, then you will hit your goals faster. It’s all about mindset.   It’s also why I say that it is none of your business what other people think of you. What other people think and say about you, whether it’s negative or positive, it’s not actually about you. It’s just from their perspective, based on what they can see and what their beliefs are.   Attaching meaning to your outcome and minding what other people would say could have a detrimental impact on how you perform. Your beliefs define your success.   So, how do you release expectation whilst still taking massive action? How do you resist the urge to attach meaning to the outcomes you achieve?   What it really means to you is to adopt an experimentation mindset in your business. It's not over until you say it's over.   You have the power. You are the entrepreneur. You own your business. You are the person who can decide what each experience, result and outcome means, what your next steps are, what your goals are and when the party is over on that particular goal.   That means you have incredible power to act and change the way that you show up and the way you’re doing things.   When you have your mindset strengthened and you are consciously thinking and readjusting your thoughts, and you apply an experimentation mindset to a proven system in your business—you can become unstoppable! Because you are releasing the outcome and you are learning to trust in yourself and your intuition.   And as a mum, you know that’s powerful! Nobody knows your child better than you do, so more often than not, you had better go with your intuition instead of allowing others’ expectations to influence your decisions.   When you do this in an environment of community and mentorship, constantly working on your confidence and your mindset—and trusting in your ability to create transformation for your clients—you can create massive results. You really can, ladies. Resisting attaching meaning to the outcome means that the massive results might look different to what you thought they would.   Are you ready to move from Conflicted and confused in where to go next in your business to smashing goals with confidence like the rockstar CEO I know you are? Collaboration over competition is one of the core values of REW. Episode Thirteen: How To Get Really Specific About Your Ideal Client It is important to narrow down your ideal client—know who they are and what are the specific details about their problems. Let’s talk about why. Knowing your ideal client is the second most important thing in your business (next to sorting out your head!). Your ideal client is that one person you are inspired to help and make an impact for. There is that one person who is the reason why your business exists. As mums in business, one of the things you need to identify is the purpose of your business. Why does your business exist? And knowing who your ideal client is will help you get there. Episode Ten: Designing Your Happiness - Why We Need To Stop Giving It Away True success is only achieved when you feel successful…and while we can go about a structured approach to figuring out what success looks like of us (in fact I definitely think this is something you would benefit from doing) … unless you really know what makes you happy AND how you feel when you are happy, it can be hard to know when you are there. In fact - I would argue that if you can find your happiness right now then you will feel successful right now because you start to release your tight control on the outcome you are looking for and live more in the moment.
