Our last chat of Season 1 has us sitting down with the lovely and inspiring Camille Guaty-Kaye. While most of you may know her as a talented actor from many of your favorite TV shows and films , you'll meet a woman of perseverance, resiliency, and a heart full of love. I certainly made a new friend that I can't wait for you to meet. She candidly shares with us her challenging road to motherhood and how it ultimately led her and her husband to letting go of their dreams of a traditional path to baby and embracing egg donor conception. We talk about the importance of taking time to grief, to make space for the ups and downs while trying to conceive, but we also choose to laugh at some of the bumps along the way. Get your tissues ready and be prepared to laugh...a lot. You don't want to miss this one, my friends!
We talk to Michael Pate, an actor & lead singer/guitarist of the band, Electric Black Horse. While he wears many different hats (and sometimes, leather, eye makeup and funky footwear), he makes sure that his daughter, age 7, never has to question who her father is.His credo is showing up as you are. His insistence in authenticity has been a cornerstone in his life and now, his fatherhood journey. Michael reminds us to remain connected to who we were prior to having children and the importance in sharing the successes as well as our challenges, with our children.Age isn't but a number to Mike, but he appreciates the life experiences along the way, which have made him the father he's never had and the father he wanted to be to his child. Please join us for this delightful chat and male perspective on being an older parent.

Looking forward to the delivery of her rainbow baby, Tara & her husband, entered the hospital anticipating what should have been the happiest moment of their lives. Sarah walks us through her experience of becoming a mom over ten years ago and doing it all over again in her 40's. We'll talk about her desire to be mom, going around the patriarchal and ignorant aspects of the medical industry to become a mom and how's she navigating motherhood now while co-parenting and newly single. Make sure you listen to it all, because you don't want to miss a fun, new segment that I'm introducing with this episode: The Gen X Test, to see if Sarah, gets to keep her Gen X culture card!In present day, her family represents many just like hers, who find themselves being interrogated, harassed, devalued and erased by certain legislation around our country. It was important to me to bring you her story, to inspire those in our LGBTQ+ community looking to be parents, to strengthen the spirit of those who currently are and to allow those who may have never had a chance to meet someone like Sarah or her family, to tear down the walls of maybe fear, judgement or just innocent ignorance, to sit with us, listen and hopefully walk away learning something new. Please follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter at New Mommy at 40 or visit our webpage: www.newmommyat40.com

As we close out Black History Month this year, I wanted to put the spotlight on Black Maternal Health. This episode will be a 2-part series, dedicated to this topic.Maternal health has long been a concern in America for women of all races. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has found that about 700 women die from complications related to pregnancy or childbirth every year. However, black women fared the worst, dying 2.5 times more often than white or hispanic women. That is why, I'm so thankful to have this chat with Daneen Sekoni today. I know you'll find her overall positivity and prospective of life, faith, and parenting infectious.Source: cdc.gov - National Vital Statistics System-‘Maternal Mortality Rates in the United States, 2019 by Donna L. In April of 2020-the world got to know a beautiful and resilient woman's emotional and heart-wrenching story. Newly diagnosed with COVID-19 while being 6 months pregnant and unable to breathe on her own, she was put into a medically induced coma, only to wake up many days later, as a new mommy to a very premature baby. To me, she was Jo. The woman I admired from work, a then, 39 year old rockstar, who knew that she was meant to be a mommy and that her baby was waiting to meet her. she left tradition and societal expectations at the door and designed her own path to motherhood. That's why this episode is called: An Empowered Single Woman's Road to Motherhood & Her Triumph Over COVID. This episode is dedicated to all the single rockstars who are finding themselves at a mature age and longing to meet their babies. Johana Mendoza Chancay's story is a reminder that there are many roads to motherhood and one path doesn't make you more of a mother. Remember that your road to your baby is the right one for you.
