In today's episode, Author, Shana-Lee Scott, vulnerably shares her ongoing journey through infertility after being diagnosed with 33 uterine fibroids following her 2017 marriage. After three doctors recommended a hysterectomy, Shannon's faith and persistence led her to a surgeon in Florida who successfully removed all 33 fibroids — saving her womb.  Years of trying to conceive, a 2023 fertility clinic visit recommending surrogacy, and seasons of wrestling with God have shaped Shannon into a voice of hope for women in the waiting. She discusses her 40-day devotional Mommy In Waiting, her work with a fertility doula, and the importance of building the right care team and faith community while surrendering the timeline to God. Shana-Lee Scott Bio Shana-Lee Scott is ready to add author to her list of titles. She is the CEO and founder of Breathe & Exhale 360, a certified life coach, and now, a published author. Through heartfelt devotionals, she shares her own experience of longing for a child and the faith it requires. This week, I'm doing something a little different. A little vulnerable. My debut book, Never Healing Alone: How to Navigate Grief and Find Community After Pregnancy and Infant Loss, comes out next year (April 6, 2027), and you, this community, are the reason it exists. You are my "why." So, before anyone else in the world hears it, I want to share it with you. In this week's special episode of the Sisters in Loss podcast, I am sitting down and reading the entire, final introduction to the book, out loud. This is the heart of the book. It's the story of my own losses, the "Great Disappearance" of care, the systemic failures, and the birth of the Healing Archetypes™. It sets the stage for everything we are going to heal together in these pages. And because you are my most trusted community, I would be so honored to hear your feedback. As you listen, I want you to consider: ✨ Does this sound like your story? When you hear me talk about the "Strong Black Woman" armor or feeling dismissed by doctors, do you feel seen? ✨ What part hits you the hardest? Is there a specific sentence or story that lands in your spirit and makes you say, "That's it. That's the feeling."? ✨ Who would you send this to? When you hear these words, who immediately comes to mind? A friend? A family member? Your therapist? This is more than just an audiobook preview; it's an invitation. I want you to feel like you are part of this book's journey from my heart into the world. After you listen, please send me a DM on Instagram (@sistersinloss) or reply directly to this email and let me know your thoughts. Your feedback is invaluable as we prepare to share this medicine with the world.

This week, we are joined by the incredible Rebecca Muriuki, a Corporate Exit Strategist and Human Design Wealth Coach who experienced this exact collision. Rebecca spent her career mastering the art of performance, climbing the ladder to become an Associate Director at Deloitte. But in 2019, an ectopic pregnancy forced a sudden, painful pause. It was a devastating loss that became a profound awakening, making her question the very foundation of the life she had built. She realized that her relentless pursuit of success had disconnected her from her own body, her natural rhythm, and the kind of present mother she truly wanted to be. In this powerful conversation, Rebecca shares how that moment of grief became the catalyst for her own revolution. She walks us through her journey of leaving her corporate career, healing her relationship with perfectionism, and creating a life—and a business—rooted in presence, sovereignty, and joy. This episode is a must-listen for any high-achieving woman who has felt the pull to slow down and is ready to build a life that feels as good as it looks. Her OB/GYN monitored the cyst for a couple of months, until it started to grow. In order to prevent the cyst from rupturing the OB/GYN performed a laparoscopic procedure in January 2016. The cyst dominated the left part of Bria's pelvic cavity, and therefore, they had to remove her left ovarian and Fallopian tube, and during this procedure it was determined she had endometriosis. She had many complications from that surgery that left her bowel perforated resulting in her wearing a temporary colostomy bag. What Does Having Low AMH Levels Mean? Having low AMH levels can indicate that your ovaries are producing less of the preantral follicles. This is important as the fewer the number of follicles there are means there are less that can be stimulated for assisted contraception. Today's guest suffered from endometriosis for 21 years before being properly diagnosed. Sandra Elidor also found out she had low AMH at age 30.  With Endo she had two surgeries, 1 fallopian tube, 1 successful IVF cycle, and 1 miscarriage. Sandra gave birth to her son at 29 weeks after weeks of bed rest due to placenta previa.  During her 2nd IVF treatment, she found out she was no longer a candidate for IVF due to her low AMH levels.  After which she suffered a miscarriage.   In today's episode Sandra takes us on her journey to parenting, how she started her non-profit Filling Empty Wombs on Clubhouse, and supporting other families on this infertility and loss journey. Have you heard of the term Oligohydramnios? Low amniotic fluid (oligohydramnios) is a condition in which the amniotic fluid measures lower than expected for a baby's gestational age. Today's guest was preparing to conceive and had a myomectomy to remove her fibroids.  Christina Danyo learned she was expecting after her fibroid surgery.  During her 20 week anatomy scan she learned that her baby girl's kidneys did not develop and was covered in cysts.  Her daughter was diagnosed with Oligohdramnios or low/no amniotic fluid and her lungs also did not develop.  Christina was faced with the decision with the diagnosis not compatible with life.  In this episode, we discuss the decision she and her husband made to carry to full term, she delivered her baby girl via C-section at 37 weeks, preparation for delivering a baby given a fatal diagnosis, and her time spent honoring her angel during her less than 2 hour life and beyond.
