Playlist of the Show:[23:09] What'd I Say - Ray Charles[26:30] Early Summer - Ryo Fukui[28:52] Hymn to Freedom - Oscar PetersonAI建议的爵士乐育儿歌单(20月龄-36月龄)20个月:高保真钢琴触键(物理建模期) ● 曲目: Midnight Sugar (山本刚), C-Jam Blues (Red Garland), Linus and Lucy (Vince Guaraldi), Bag's Groove (MJQ) ● 深度分析: ○ 脑神经科学: 20个月的孩子,内耳耳蜗的**音调映射(Tonotopic map)**正在进行最后的物理微调。 1. Work Song (Nat Adderley) 2. Killer Joe (Benny Golson) 3. Blues in the Closet (Bud Powell) 4. 1. Moanin' (Art Blakey) 2. Song for My Father (Horace Silver) 3. The Sidewinder (Lee Morgan) 4. Watermelon Man (Herbie Hancock) 5. 1. Aruarian Dance (Nujabes) 2. Luv(sic) Part 3 (Nujabes) 3. Waltz for Life Will Born (Uyama Hiroto) 4. Take Five (Dave Brubeck) 2. Unsquare Dance (Dave Brubeck) 3. Blue Rondo à la Turk (Dave Brubeck) 4. 1. Waltz for Debby (Bill Evans) 2. Bluesette (Toots Thielemans) 3. Alice in Wonderland (Bill Evans) 4. Up with the Lark (Bill Evans) ● 深度分析: ○ 脑神经科学: 三拍子会强烈刺激小脑的前庭系统。 1. The Girl from Ipanema (Stan Getz) 2. Wave (Antônio Carlos Jobim) 3. Desafinado (Stan Getz) 4. 1. So What (Miles Davis) 2. Maiden Voyage (Herbie Hancock) 3. Little Sunflower (Freddie Hubbard) 4. 1. My Funny Valentine (Chet Baker) 2. You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To (Art Pepper) 3. Autumn Leaves (Cannonball) 4. 1. Scrapple from the Apple (Charlie Parker) 2. A Night in Tunisia (Dizzy Gillespie) 3. Donna Lee (Charlie Parker) 4. Early Summer (Ryo Fukui) 2. Scenery (Ryo Fukui) 3. Blow Up (Isao Suzuki) 4. 1. L-O-V-E (Nat King Cole) 2. Cheek to Cheek (Fitzgerald & Armstrong) 3. Fly Me to the Moon (Sinatra) 4. How High the Moon (Ella Fitzgerald) ● 深度分析: ○ 脑神经科学: SSIR 假说(Shared Syntactic Integration Resource)指出,语言与音乐共享神经资源。 St. Thomas (Sonny Rollins) 2. Moritat (Sonny Rollins) 3. Cantaloop (Us3) 4. Mambo Inn (George Shearing) 2. Manteca (Dizzy Gillespie) 3. Afro Blue (Mongo Santamaría) 4. Spain (Chick Corea) 2. Birdland (Weather Report) 3. Giant Steps (John Coltrane) 2. Naima (John Coltrane) 3. Speak No Evil (Wayne Shorter) 4. 1. Rhapsody in Blue (Gershwin) 2. Hymn to Freedom (Oscar Peterson) 3. The Köln Concert (Keith Jarrett) 4.
Listen the hell up because we're done playing small. Most people spend their lives marinating in their own excuses, waiting for a permission slip from the universe that isn't coming. They think "getting your shit together" is a slow, painful crawl through a desert of boredom. It's not. It's a quantum leap fueled by the realization that you are the one standing in your own goddamn way. In this episode of The Spirit of the Deal, Brandon G. Handley sits down with Nick Barba—a man who was once so committed to his own destruction he landed a full-page ad in Thrasher just to prove he could survive the chaos. Nick didn't just stumble into sobriety; he tried to systematically debunk the 12 Steps like a jaded investigative reporter, only to accidentally save his own life in the process. Now, he's the co-founder of Revival Recovery Residences, proving that even the most stubborn "victim mentality" can be traded in for a life of purpose and real estate empires. Stop waiting for the ball to drop and start catching the ones you've already thrown. In this deep dive, you're going to learn exactly how to stop robbing yourself of your own happiness and start making moves that actually matter. We're breaking down: The "Terrible Twos" of Sobriety: Why putting down the bottle is only 10% of the battle, and how to survive the ego-shattering reality of the other 90%. The Art of the Spontaneous Empire: How Nick went from a "maybe" conversation in a car to owning a sober living facility in less time than it takes most people to pick a Netflix movie. Identity Theft: Why you need to murder your old self to make room for the person who actually gets things done. The Blueprint of Belief: How surrounding yourself with the right "quirky" winners (like Brandon Novak) acts as a cheat code for your own success. The promise is simple: By the time you finish this episode, you'll realize that "luck" is just what happens when you finally stop being an asshole to your future self. It's time to get out of the way and let the spirit of the deal take over. Eat your vegetables, do the work, and listen to this episode before you find another way to screw up a good thing. So there I was, just twenty-three months old and the King of the World. I had a pair of doting giants trained to meet my every need. One whimper and I instantly became the center of the universe. But trouble was brewing in paradise and I knew it. My mother had entered her second trimester, pregnant with The Interloper: my sister Jan was on the way and my kingdom would soon be ripped in half. Right on schedule, Mars was returning to where it was on the day I was born. I was embattled and ready to kill somebody if only my body were coordinated enough to pull it off. Welcome to the infamous “Terrible Twos.” In broad terms, Mars takes twenty-six months to return to a given zodiacal degree – just over two years in other words. Due to several factors, the cycle is somewhat variable. One of those factors is that, in common with the rest of the planets, Mars' orbit is elliptical – it speeds up when it's closer to the Sun and slows down as it gets further away. Ditto for Earth, of course – and we're watching Mars from our own careening planet, so our perspective is always shifting. Because of retrograde motion, sometimes Mars makes not one but three conjunctions to its natal position. All of those wild cards complicate the timing. It's a mess, but say twenty-six months, give or take two or three months, and your timing of Mars returns will be more or less on target. My own first Mars return, for one example, occurred after only twenty-three months and ten days. The bottom line is that you have to look it up.

Are you in the middle of a meltdown moment? James 1 says trials and temptations are the “terrible twos” every believer must face—not to break us, but to reveal what God is forming in us. In this message, weunpack James 1:2–8, 12–17 and show why we fall into trials and step into sin, how endurance grows maturity, and how the goodness of the Father outshines every counterfeit.

Halloween is just around the corner and like any celebration it can sometimes lead to our little ones losing the run of the themselves in the excitement of it all. "Honey! You're Ruining Our Kid" is always here if you need help getting your kid back on track. On Wednesday we went to a special Aldi Halloween celebration which we loved. It reminded me, I watched way too many films that I shouldn't have when i was very young. I know first hand the long lasting damage this can do. Jarlath find this hilarious of course and often jokes that I'm afraid of everything. He's right, I really am terrified of a lot of things. Trying to find the best way to keep things spooky rather than scary is the opening segment of our show today.Question 1- What do you do if your kid never seems happy. Bursting into inconsolable tears 8-10 times a day. How can you possibly keep your patience while coping with this much distress? Can this behaviour be changed? At Honey! You're Ruining Our Kid we believe every habit can be broken, every child can be reached and every parent can be helped.Question 2- A supportive friend gets in touch wondering how she can help her friend who is struggling with single motherhood. This one has us stumped. Is it ever really okay to offer advice or help an individual who hasn't asked for it?Do you risk causing offence or worse, ending the friendship? Is it better to just be the rock they need rather than the solution they didn't seek? Question 3- Are the Terrible Twos a real thing? As a parent do you just have to resign yourself to this being a particularly tough time or is there a way to navigate your family through it. Thank you so much for listening in to our show. Uncle Si has a lot in common with his new sister in Christ, Martin's wife, Brittany. Brittany opens up about some parts of her life's journey that led her to the baptistry recently, and Si insists he knew that she was the one for Martin the first time they met. Martin once performed a possum relocation wearing nothing but his hospital briefs after a very personal surgery, and John-David is both proud and exhausted by his son's school antics. Si is reminded of his own delicate surgery during which he went feral on the orderlies, though the anesthesia wiped his memory. Welcome to a brand-new Family Edition of The Tony Robbins Podcast! Join Tony Robbins, his wife Sage Robbins, and their dear friend and podcast host turned surrogate, Mary B., for an intimate, at-home conversation on the topic of CONSCIOUS PARENTING. In honor of Mother's Day 2024, Tony takes the interviewer's seat and talks to both Sage and Mary about the principles, strategies, tools, and learnings derived from their own journey as mothers. This enlightening conversation transcends traditional notions of parenting, as the trio explores the complexities of modern family dynamics. From blended families, stepparents, same-sex relationships, and co-parenting arrangements, Tony, Sage, and Mary discuss tips for how to make it work on the evolving landscape that is parenthood today. One of the highlights of this conversation is their working definition of MODERN CONSCIOUS PARENTING -- the shift from stress and fear-based parenting to an empowering and integrative awareness-based parenting. The family discuss the helpfulness of evolving from high-resistance parenting towards a more mindful, self-reflecting, and self-aware approach. By prioritizing both presence and connection, they explain how parents can create an environment that nurtures the growth of beautiful little human beings – an inside out job. The three also emphasize the significance of our language choices around children, advocating for curiosity over fury and mindfulness over fear. They also share personal anecdotes from their own experiences as parents, highlighting the impact of screen and other stimulus on children's emotional development, creativity, imagination and worldview. This episode offers invaluable insights for parents, prospective parents, and anyone interested in creating meaningful connections within their families. By embracing conscious parenting practices, Tony, Sage, and Mary invite listeners to embark on a journey of personal growth, self-discovery, and lasting harmony. Join us as we explore the transformative power of intentional parenting and discover how a slight shift in our focus can lead to profound changes with children and within ourselves! Today, Dr. Mary Barbera offers three simple assessments for parents concerned about their toddler's behavior. These assessments include language sampling, baseline video recordings of play, and the Barbera Early Childhood Assessment™ (BECA). By utilizing these tools, parents can gain insights into their child's development and identify potential areas of concern or strength. These assessments empower parents to take proactive steps in supporting their child's development and seeking further guidance if needed.

Is modern parenting doing more harm than good? In this episode, I unravel the complex layers of how today's parenting practices may be inadvertently extending childhood well into the adult years. I take a hard look at the practices that label typical two-year-old behaviors as disorders and challenge the authority of parents, replacing time-tested discipline with emotion-driven reactions. By sharing my insights from inside the psychology profession and from my own creative musings, this episode proposes a reevaluation of parenting norms and mental health rhetoric. Hello! Welcome to the LTF Podcast! I am so glad you're here. In this episode I ramble on about routines; how to establish them and why they matter. This information can be applied to the classroom or at home. This episode is linked to the last episode about independence. Children are always in search of themselves, and who they are in the world, and we often get in their way. Establishing freedom within boundaries via routines will help the child to develop self-awareness, confidence feelings of safety, pride, and community all while building independence too. Routines are not bad! Only those charts and when we hold on to them so tight we refuse to adjust as needed. Thanks for listening! Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; Ephesians 4:2-4, 32"No!" cried Tynlee as her little brother pushed a pile of magazines off the coffee table. She sighed and turned to her mother. "What's with Bridger today? He made a mess with his food at breakfast, drew all over my math homework, and tried to drown my stuffed animals in the bathtub!""Some people call his age the terrible twos," said Mom. "But I prefer to think of it as the curious twos. It's an age when children are learning about the world and want to get into everything."Tynlee grinned as she rearranged the magazines. "It must be hard having such a naughty little boy after having a perfect child like me."Mom laughed. "You'll get a chance to see yourself at that age when Aunt Gina comes next week. She has a video she made the summer we went to her wedding. You were only two years old then.""Oh, good," Tynlee said. "I'll make sure Bridger watches it and sees how a two-year-old is supposed to act!"The next week, Tynlee and her family gathered around her aunt's computer to see the video. "Oh, look!" Tynlee said as the screen showed the family seated around the table. "That's me in my high chair, saying grace--how sweet.""Look again," said Aunt Gina.Tynlee gasped. "I can't believe it! I'm pouring milk on the floor." More scenes passed. "Why is the dog hiding under the chair?" asked Tynlee."You pulled his tail," replied Dad."Here you are dressed for the wedding," said Mom. "You did look really cute."Tynlee smiled at herself wearing a fancy white dress with blue bows.In the next scene, the white dress was covered with brown streaks. "Just when we were about to leave for the church, you got outside and played in a mud puddle," Aunt Gina explained.Tynlee grinned as Bridger climbed up on her lap. "Hey, buddy. From now on, I'll be more patient with you. I can see I had a lot to learn when I was your age too."Mom nodded thoughtfully. "That's exactly how we should treat our brothers and sisters in Christ too. We need to be patient with one another as we learn and grow in our relationship with Jesus. We all make mistakes, but Jesus forgives us and helps us learn to do better. We should be that way too." – Ruth McQuilkin How About You?Do you have little brothers or sisters? Are you often critical of them? Remember that they're younger than you and need time to learn and grow, so be patient with them. How about your brothers and sisters in Christ--other Christians? Trust God to help you be patient with them too. He wants His children to love one another and help each other learn and grow.Today's Key Verse:Love is patient, love is kind. (NIV) (1 Corinthians 13:4 )Today's Key Thought:Be loving and patient

Today, on the podcast, there is a massive announcement. This morning, I launched a book publishing company called Washed Up Books. After two volumes of Anthology of Emo, I really felt there was more to do in this space and because of your support, it's time to make this a real thing. Today, I'm proud to announce Red Letter Days, the debut novel from Matt Pryor from the Get Up Kids, New Amsterdams, and Terrible Twos. Today, it's available for preorder via WashedUpBooks.com or via our friends at PolyvinylRecords.com. And yes, it is available worldwide. Wherever you are in the world, you can get this! I thought it would be fun to recap the releases of Anthology of Emo and how we got to doing Red Letter Days with the designer Jesse Reed. Jesse's day job is Order, a design firm, Standards Manual book series, and in a fantastic band called Sharkswimmer, where he's the drummer. It'll make sense as you hear the episode. Jesse was invaluable to making these a reality, and we go into the story of how we started doing books and dive into books and music. This is overwhelming to have happened. It's amazing to think someone like Matt Pryor, whom I idolized, has put pen to paper and written a fantastic series of stories that I have been waiting to tell you for so long. Truly, thank you for the support on this podcast and the books. Shout out to everyone who helped make the Anthologies happen, Polyvinyl Records, Ian King, and many others… This is just the start of Washed Up Books. Learn more about your ad choices. It's that special time of year again: you guessed it! Our annual Flixtober series is now in full swing. This year, we are doing a rundown of some of our favorite sequels, but not just any sequels. This series is loosely titled "The Terrible Twos" as we are focusing specifically on the second installment in notable franchises. We are kicking things off with a movie we have been meaning to talk about on the pod for quite some time: 1983's follow up to the legendary Hitchcock grandad slasher "Psycho". Norman gets busted from the nut house after 22 years and is just trying to be "normal Norman". But there are folks in the town of Fairvale that have machinations to put our rehabilitated protagonist back in the funny farm. What's a poor boy to do, mother? This episodes featured band is legendary Italian death thrashers Schizo with the song "Manifold Hallucinations". If you want to drop us an email, send it to midnightflixpod@gmail.com and follow us on Instagram and TikTok @midnightflixpodcast.

Historian and author Brady Crytzer joins Tim to talk about his latest book on one of the lesser known stories of early America…the Whiskey Rebellion. Brady is the author of “The Whiskey Rebellion: A Distilled History of an American Crisis.” It comes along at a time when our newly formed republic was still in its infancy. Well not quite infancy. If the Civil War was America's rebellious teen years, then the Whiskey Rebellion was our country's Terrible Twos. https://traffic.libsyn.com/forcedn/shapingopinion/Brady_Crytzer_-_Whiskey_Rebellion_auphonic.mp3 It's probably not an overstatement to say that a good number of Americans today never heard of Alexander Hamilton until the hit Broadway musical called Hamilton hit the stage in 2015. They may not even realize that he's the face they see on the front of the ten-dollar bills they spend. And even they do know of Alexander Hamilton, some think he was one our first presidents. Such is life in America in 2023. But the fact that we're still talking about the man says something of the impact he had on the shaping of the nation. We're going to talk about a piece of his legacy, and that of George Washington and others, in the context of a true insurrection. In March of 1791, U.S. Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton proposed a domestic tax that sent shockwaves through the Western Frontier and sparked an insurrection. At that time, the Western frontier was western Pennsylvania, an area known in Philadelphia as the Ohio Territories. Kentucky, Virginia and Maryland. What Hamilton proposed was an excise tax on whiskey. His goal was to balance America's national debt in the wake of the Revolutionary War and the country's battle for independence. The law he sponsored was called the Whiskey Act, and it penalized famers in the backcountry, while playing favorites with large distillers. It's may be hard for Americans to understand today, but ultimately the controversy centered on imposing federal authority over frontier settlers. American history author Brady Crytzer says to understand why this didn't go over well, you need to understand more about the western frontier and the times in which they lived.
