A community following Jesus. Gospel centred teachings/sermons from our Sunday gatherings.

Episode 03 | Matt 5:7-8 | Stuart Brooking | 17/05/2026We live in a world that constantly bombards us with noise, distractions, and competing priorities, making it incredibly easy to navigate life with a divided heart. In this episode, we dive deep into the Sermon on the Mount—specifically Matthew 5:8: "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."Far from calling us to live as isolated recluses, Jesus invites us to experience true spiritual purity right in the middle of our messy, chaotic, everyday routines. Explore what it means to transition from a fragmented, distracted faith to a single-minded devotion to God. Learn how training your mind to focus on what is noble, true, and praiseworthy can fundamentally transform your perspective, allowing you to see God actively moving in your daily life.

Episode 02 | Matt 5:1-16 | Toby Dedden | 10/05/2026Toby dives into the heart of the Sermon on the Mount, exploring Matthew 5:1-16. He looks at how Jesus introduces the Kingdom of Heaven not through a display of worldly power, but through a beautiful and shocking poem known as the Beatitudes. Discover what it means to be "Kingdom People"—the poor in spirit, the mourning, and the peacemakers—and how Jesus calls these specific individuals to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Toby discusses the essential need for Christian distinction and how we can practically bring kingdom hope to our communities through mercy, evangelism, and beauty.

Episode 01 | Matt 5:1-12 | Dave Miles | 26/04/2026Dave begins a new series on the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5–7), beginning with the Beatitudes and focusing on Matthew 5:6: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.” Dave presents righteousness as a new way of living—obedience from the heart that seeks God's kingdom and will “to the max.” This talk explores why believers would crave God's will, arguing from Ephesians 1 that God's will and pleasure are one and the same, reflecting the Old Testament concept of God's “ratzon” (favour/pleasure/will), illustrated in Psalms, Proverbs, and Isaiah 61 as the Messiah's announcement of the “year of the Lord's favour.” Dave challenges fear-based views of God, frames obedience as entering God's delight, and addresses spiritual apathy by showing how Jesus awakens desire, using John 4 to reveal misplaced pursuits that don't satisfy and invite people to living water and true fulfilment.

Episode 04 | 1 Thess 5 | Tim Small | 12/4/2026Tim closes our series on 1 Thessalonians by comparing preparing for “the day of the Lord” to preparing for his wedding, arguing that believers should order their whole lives toward readiness. He explains the Old Testament background of the phrase, noting Israel's mistaken expectation of automatic blessing and Amos's warning that religious activity without acceptable preparation leads to judgment, though with a promise of restoration. From 1 Thessalonians 5, he outlines practical preparation in relationships: honour and submit to church leaders (noting the recent appointment of new elders), live in peace, correct the idle, encourage the disheartened, help the weak with patience, and do not repay wrong for wrong, especially amid persecution. He adds spiritual practices—rejoice, pray, give thanks, test teaching, and abstain from evil—then reassures that God faithfully sanctifies and keeps believers blameless through Jesus' death and resurrection.

Episode 02 | Luke 24 | Stuart Brooking | 5/4/2026Have you ever felt the deep disillusionment of a dream that didn't turn out the way you expected? In this Easter message from Stuart, we walk alongside two downcast disciples on the road to Emmaus. Weighed down by the trauma of the cross, they encounter a "stranger" who connects the dots of history—from the Garden of Eden to the suffering servant of Isaiah. Discover how a two-hour Bible study with the risen Jesus transformed their despair into a burning passion, and how that same resurrection life offers us a new beginning today.

Episode 01 | Luke 22-23 | David Miles | 3/4/2026Good Friday is a day marked by deep contrast. It is harrowing and somber, yet it is uniquely rich with the glory of God. In this special gathering, Dave leads us through a devotional reflection on the final hours of Jesus' life as recorded in Luke 22-23.From the dark shadows of the Garden of Gethsemane to the public mockery of the Roman trials, we witness the "power of darkness" seemingly taking control. However, beneath the surface of this tragedy lies the greatest victory in human history. Through the vivid exchange of Jesus for the murderer Barabbas, we see the heart of the Gospel: the Innocent One dying in the place of the guilty.

"Why is this night different to all other nights?" This is the question that has echoed through Jewish households for centuries during the Passover feast. But two thousand years ago, in a quiet upper room and a shadowed garden, that traditional question took on a weight it had never held before. In this moving maundy thursday reflection, Toby weaves together the ancient story of Israel's deliverance with the immediate, harrowing reality of Jesus' final hours. While the rest of Jerusalem celebrated a God who once came close, Jesus was becoming the God who stayed close—even unto death. Join us as we journey from the flickering candles of the Passover table to the dawn of the crucifixion, discovering how a Lamb led to the slaughter became our ultimate means of life.
