    Ivy Insights

The Southerner: Conversations with Interesting Southerners is a podcast that connects listeners with the vibrant culture and intriguing individuals of the South. As a resident of Nolensville, Tennessee near Franklin, I have found a true connection to this local podcaster. Chris Thomas, the host of The Southerner, does an excellent job in conducting interviews and asking thought-provoking questions to his guests. Even if I didn't initially think a particular topic would be interesting, Thomas has a way of making it captivating and engaging. The guests on his show are always fascinating and bring unique perspectives to the table.

One of the best aspects of The Southerner podcast is its ability to showcase people who are doing great things in the South. Whether it's chefs, musicians, authors, actors, or artists, Thomas dives deep into their stories and experiences to create a rich tapestry of Southern culture. It is through these conversations that listeners gain a greater appreciation for the region and its diverse talents.

Another commendable aspect of this podcast is its connection to Made South business endeavors. Made South showcases Southern makers and products, and Thomas does an exceptional job in integrating these themes into his podcast episodes. This adds depth and authenticity to each conversation as guests share their insights on Southern traditions and craftsmanship.

As for any potential shortcomings, it is difficult to find any major flaws in The Southerner podcast. However, one minor criticism could be that some episodes may not cater to everyone's interests. Given the wide range of topics covered on the show, there may be episodes that resonate more strongly with certain listeners than others. Nonetheless, even if a particular guest or subject doesn't immediately capture your attention, you may still find value in hearing their stories and perspectives.

In conclusion, The Southerner: Conversations with Interesting Southerners is an exceptional podcast that highlights remarkable individuals and captures the essence of southern culture. Chris Thomas, the host, has a knack for asking engaging questions and creating an enjoyable listening experience. Whether you're a Southern resident or simply curious about the region, this podcast is definitely worth exploring. The Southerner provides marvelous storytelling and a deep appreciation for the people doing great things in the South.
