#218 Listen, nobody* ever** really WANTS to have to genocide an entire race. But sometimes, one has to fall back on the classic, legally and philosophically unimpeachable, defense of "they started it". Luckily, we don't have to wrestle with watching our beloved, be-balded captain commit fully to his morally-questionable eradication plan this time, and it's all thanks to everyone's favorite adorable reformed Borg, Hugh! Well, favorite until the one with the big gazongas comes along, but for now he's the only game in town. So soap up your abs, solidly affix your buttplates, gather multiple people together for a podcast recording in the same room for the first time in like literally a decade, and sever your oppressive link to the Collective with this extremely delayed holiday episode of Trek TV! *we've received reports that this is, horrifyingly, not true **and also that it's apparently fairly frequent. Ok so maybe just a touch of global assimilation for, say, a month or so might not be the worst thing to try Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#217 Imaginary friends! They're extremely common and normal for kids to have, according to all TV forever. But what if: there was some sort of terrifying, bloodthirsty person out there gratuitously murdering the poor innocent imaginary friends of every last child she came across?! That's not the plot of this episode at all, but it probably would have been a hell of a lot better if it was! In fact, we strongly recommend you make a concerted effort to focus your mind on this much, much more exciting concept, as we attempt to scrape away this relatively inoffensive last remaining bit of effluent residue that this string of stinkers have oozed all over our poor podcast. Don't worry though, we'll further help distract your poor embattled psyche with discussions of the bewildering universal homogeny of morning zoo crews, the disappointing lack of scientific rigor in modern mythbusting, the surprising truth of where stress is stored, and at least some more! So lock up your imaginary friends in the panic room and tell them to not make a sound (it won't help), hide all the terrible crafts you don't want thrown out, and brace yourself for a blandly tolerable episode of Trek TV! #216 Few people realize that everyone here at Trek TV has been hand-selected as a gifted mutant podcastmorph, with the ability to sense what a potential listener wants, what they need, what gives them the greatest pleasure; and then do the exact opposite of that. So we're probably a subspecies of everyone involved with formulating "The Perfect Mate"! But we're certainly not perfect, so if you're by some chance actually looking for nuanced discussion of the illusion of choice, the difficulty of lying to one's children, the best song ever written about smelling a body part, the surprising international popularity of Canadian high school drama programs, and so much more... well, Vaughn's your uncle! So put on your finest velvet and strongest codpiece, bust open your poorly-secured golden bean, and just maybe you'll be slightly prepared for the train about to be run on you that is this episode of Trek TV! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#215 Warning: only those "whose hearts are joyous" may listen to this episode of Trek TV. Well, unless they can somehow overcome, through sheer strength, the imposing presence of a weird stupid rainbow-checkerboarded head in a bubble. Of course, the real question is: with the double threat of Lwaxana Troi and Alexander Rozhenko actually TEAMING UP, why would you WANT to? We're not sure either, but what we DO know is there's plenty of discussion of the pitfalls and practicalities of interspecies online dating, bizarre and disturbing Australian pronunciations, unsafe sausage handling practices, shockingly graphic posterior displays, and so much more. It's best you accept your premorse and our apologies, get higher and/or fewer as necessary, and hop right into the muddy stew that is this episode of Trek TV before it all turns into some kind of slimy goo! Well, a different kind of slimy goo, anyway. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#214 Here at Trek TV, our first duty is to the truth. And by the truth, we mean the liquor, and the truth is some of us definitely take that duty a bit more seriously than others. But don't judge us too harshly; much like our perennial Golden Boy Wesley was seduced and, finally, corrupted by the charm and coiffure of Not-Tom Paris, we were the victim of a similarly brash and manipulative lockdown that seemed like it would never end. But also some of us might have just started the maneuver waaaaay too early. Well, whether we were ready to thread this particularly hazardous needle or not, that hasn't stopped us from opening our exhaust hatches wide and venting out metric tonnes of steaming-hot discussions around the illusions of choice, uncertain spice enunciation, useful cult recruitment tips, disturbing new forensic techniques, the essential metrics of after-school specials, the unconscionable existence of the demon "Bixby", and so, so, SO much more in this, an episode of Trek TV so dangerous and ill-advised that just making it through probably actually qualifies you for credit on both your hazardous/long-haul flight certification and your Starfleet psych test. #213 In what's definitely a top 3 cold open at the very least, the boat blows up and everyone dies. (Try not to get too worked up about it though, you'll be seeing it again at least 3 more times). In between repeatedly exploding and smashing her favorite fancy whiskey glass, Dr. Crusher is hard at work trying to cure the chronic boat-blowing-up disease, but when the culprit turns out to be none other than Dr. Frasier Crane himself, there's obviously only one solution: the power of numbers! But we're jumping at least 3 steps ahead of ourselves; to break this particular cycle, Trek TV will need to consider the true nature of causality and determinism, realize how insane the Federation's uniform designers went for a while, get stuck in our own deadly repetitive argument, and probably… 3 more things at least, with the most important undoubtedly being the greatest, gros-est mystery of this or any other age. Warning: this episode of Trek TV has a 300% grosness rating due to frank discussion of “the best pukes”. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#212 A terrified, misunderstood, and persecuted person finally decides to accept and take a state for who and what she is, and is subsequently seized by the state for her perceived deviance and faces an involuntary, disturbing, and invasive mental "treatment" to "correct" her "condition". Fortunately, the Enterprise is there to help! Unfortunately, nobody seems to really care, except for Riker on account of he wants to figure out where his bits could go. It's kind of weird and messed up! Some dated concepts of gender and bizarre lack of concern from our typically ultra-humanitarian starship crew aside, this episode still manages to be a stirring, devastating argument for the acceptance of people's sexual and gender orientations that remains terribly, distressingly relevant nearly 30 years later. So of course, we find plenty of ways to accidentally botch pronouns repeatedly, continually giggle like schoolchildren when someone talks about "getting inside the pocket", reveal the secrets of the enigmatic "Story of the Bases", take a stand against the disgusting perversion of split pea soup, and so, so much more in this exceedingly long and unfortunately timely episode of Trek TV! Also, TERFs and their ilk can get proper fucked, tia. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#211 We're so excited that we're just snapping our spines left and right on this one, confident in the knowledge that a risky but promising breakthrough medical procedure will probably show up to repair the damage any day now. And what could be making us shatter our vertebrae so recklessly? Well, how about the crucial revelation, so important to our podcast lore, of how many redundant bits Klingons have? Or the hairdo nadir to finally rival our dear departed Tasha Yar? Could it be the graphic display of one of the wettest ol' spines we've ever had the good fortune to see? Mayhaps it's the opportunity for yet another deep dive into perplexing podunk prairie lexicon? Well, there's no need to commit the Hegh'bat over this paralyzing riddle, friends, for it is simply all of the above and so much more! So strap on your neural transducers, pass off your terrible children to your nearest coworker, and ready your fragile back for the impact of a barrelful of this particularly ethically compromised episode of Trek TV! #210 This week, the crew of Trek TV find ourselves possessed once again by the terrifying spectre of audio difficulties. Maybe if one of us had just been willing to take one for the team and bust their coccyx, we could have been spared this awful fate, but we really don't have the insurance to do our own stunts. So when you get to the occasional parts that sound all broken or inaudible, just know that we're not in control, we've simply inhabited by the spirits of long-lost podcasts past. Just kidding, of course it's actually just the consciousness of centuries-old convicted criminals sentenced to a bodiless seemingly-eternal living hell on just the biggest dump of a cave planet, because that is definitely far more reasonable than some kind of ghost-situation, which would of course just be silly. During the moments we're able to break free of their nefarious influence, you should just be able to make out discussions of confounding time-related truck mascots, thrilling victories in high-stakes cat challenging, and the inexplicable reluctance to use wide-beam phaser tech. All that and so much more, on this episode of Trek TV: the podcast we promise won't sound sort of broken next time, hopefully maybe! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!

#209 Well, our forever-war against the vile audio-genocidal race continues, and this week they once again managed to nefariously infiltrate our recording equipment to the point that it appeared nearly certain they had managed to strike a decisive blow that would have devastated the entire Star Trek podcast quadrant. Thankfully, the brave men and women of Trek TV are well-prepared for their trickery at this point, and our forward thinking and painstaking efforts have ensured we could save this podcast and its vital discussions of the finer clinical details of Hulkamania, the proper places for highway art, horrible revelations about the true nature of beloved crystals, important horga'hn confirmations, and so much more in a form that many would almost certainly define as "generally listenable"! So even if you're not quite sure why you conceivably would, much less should, just trust in yourself and your mission: to immediately blast every member of a Cryptkeeper race you see, double-dip whenever possible, and enjoy this particularly conundrum-inducing episode of Trek TV! #208 So apparently a bunch of almost-certainly unbearably pretentious jackasses left Earth centuries ago to create a "perfect" society via genetic engineering & eugenics, and shockingly it... sort of worked out ok? Until the Enterprise arrives and ruins it by... saving it from utter destruction. Kind of a weird angle to come at the whole thing, now that we think about it. Well, in the end, you can definitely call the society a piece of SOMETHING, anyway. You'll just have to listen to find out what that "something" is (you've probably already guessed), along with our experiences in the infrastructural shortcomings of certain South Asian countries, probing analysis of the career of noted renaissance... sorry, encino man P. Shore, an exciting cameo by everyone's FAVORITE CRYSTAL, and so much much in what someone, somewhere, across the vast infinity of space might just (purely by infinite monkey theorem) call a "masterpiece" of Trek TV! Though honestly, if the crystal alone isn't enough, we're afraid there may be no hope for you. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!

#207 So... yeah. There's no sugarcoating it: this episode's title isn't kidding, it has some pretty dark themes of mental abuse and sexual assault, some stuff we really can't goof on. Thankfully, there's still plenty of good fun to be had in the less horrific elements, like questionable childhood beverage choices, oddly-targeted brain-scans, some pretty badass Troi self-defense tech, and an appearance of the exceedingly rare Behaired Picard. We hope you'll still have a good time with all that silliness and plenty more in this episode of Trek TV, but still think it only right to warn you, our valued listener, that this one definitely isn't all good-time goofs 'n spoofs. #206 Exciting times! We've reached the episode that won the series their prestigious award for "Longest Consecutive String of Episodes Featuring Children Trapped Under Beams", a feat that, as far as we are aware, has yet to be bested. Now, some might say we're a bit harsh on Timmy here, a child who's just suffered some of the worst trauma imaginable in this one, but we only do it because we care; without some serious tough love, a kid this terrible at basic model construction is bound to fall through the cracks. Thankfully, with the help of Data's top-tier efficiency, a strong and understandable desire to become an android, and some excessive amounts of hair grease, this boy should be able to get over the horrible death of his parents in record time... and maybe even save the ship along the way? In between, you know you'll get all the dad jokes, poor electrical choices, confusing technical arguments, and so much more that you'd expect from this newest, kid-harassingest episode of Trek TV! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#205 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E10 - "New Ground". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Jared, with Special Guest Mariana. Are you ready to catch the wave?! Which wave? Why, the Alexander wave, of course! Yep, after harassing his grandparents for a year, everyone's "favorite" son of Worf is finally and officially dumped onto the Enterprise to turn his dad's life upside-down, for at least one episode or so. And he's just in time for an even more irrelevant wave of the soliton variety, which similarly promises new and exciting things that only amount to imminent destruction and failure. But worry not, dear listener: the horrible space stick lizards(?) will be fine, even if it costs Riker his life. All this is to say that if you love weird space stick lizards, the merciless judgement of children, and a tiny last-minute defense of said children, you should definitely ride this particular Trek TV wave! Just make sure there's no substantial colonies at the end. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#204 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E09 - "A Matter of Time". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. Uh-oh, don't look now, but Max Headroom broke out of his mainframe, (probably) murdered a guy, stole his time ship, and headed straight for the Enterprise in a scheme as through in its research as it is questionable in its practicality! Rather than buying a winning lottery ticket or bringing back a 23rd-century sports almanac like any reasonable time-traveler, he'd prefer to irritate and/or hit on the entire Finest Crew in Starfleet, steal all their finest technology/knives/androids, and somehow reproduce it all with the manufacturing capabilities of 2 centuries in the past! You have to respect his love of The Con. And it's the right place to try, because obviously the enlightened people of the 24th century would never pass summary judgement on him if caught, forcing him to become permanently stranded hundreds of years from his home and everyone he's ever known and loved. Unless they were all testy from almost vaporizing an entire planet's atmosphere, but what are the odds of that? Probably the same odds that we won't be able to stop talking about relevant Boat Law, quoting notable Slavic historians, extolling the virtues of Chef Tony's most miraculous blades, revealing previously-unimagined Australian slurs, and so much more in this disarmingly gregarious episode of Trek TV! #203 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E08 - "Unification II". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek and Jared. In this wonderful episode of Trek TV we discuss all about Spock distracting our audience away from a plot that may not make any sense whatsoever! What was Yar's daughter's plan again? #202 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E07 - "Unification I". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. That damned Spock! Not even a decade later, and the Feds have to search for him again. This time, the slippery devil is apparently on Romulus, as evidenced by a satellite photo that needs to be inexplicably re-enhanced every time someone needs to look at it. Could Spock be a defector?! Of course, because who doesn't want to shack up with the most shifty and paranoid jerks in the galaxy? Things look bleak, but with a little help from a briefly-lucid (and briefly alive) Sarek, a "favour" from a barely-accommodating Gowron, and a bit of Romulan spray-on tan, Picard and Data are on the hunt! But forget all that, because you know what we're REALLY here for: Vulcan Garbage Mysteries, Trash Kings, and weird 14-foot eels found in the lockers of junk freighters. We also contemplate the immense strain of emotional suppression on the Vulcan digestive system, question just how difficult it could really be to restore Data's beautiful complexion, and ponder the terrifying nature of the dreaded Klingon Table Skirt. All these, and even more, questions will definitely not be answered by the end of this particularly unresolved episode of Trek TV! Also (almost certainly due to Romulan treachery) there's some sketchy audio on this one at first but don't worry, it gets mostly sorted out about a quarter of the way in. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#201 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E06 - "The Game". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Jared. A new, exciting game is taking the Enterprise by storm, and without the need for any exploitative microtransactions, shady lootboxes, or manipulative gambling mechanics. Nope, it's earned its popularity the old-fashioned way: simple, satisfying gameplay, backed up with just a tiiiiiiny bit of direct stimulation to the pleasure center of the brain leading to literal direct mind control. Yep, the butt-headed aliens who made this thing have managed to get even the most stick-up-his-ass Federation flagship captain under its thrall, and their victory seems all but assured... except they haven't counted on one thing: a wiener kid the likes of which even last week's Officer in Charge of Radishes would probably pants within 5 minutes, Wesley Crusher himself! Also, a Judd. And while we sadly never do find out how they managed to get Picard, Geordi, or even Worf (seriously, Worf?! Can you even imagine that?!?) to play this stupid thing, we still manage to dive into the mysteries of Data's "digestive" tract, the mind-scarring realities of interstellar anatomical knowledge, the logistics of Future Pranks, and so much more. Just follow Trek TV Law #201: strap on your favorite euphoria-inducing eyeball-lasering device, sit back, and unleash some uncomfortable giggles as you enjoy a few levels of this new episode of Trek TV! Thanks, listeners! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#200 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E05 - "Disaster". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek, Dustin, & Jared. Wow! It's our 200th episode of Trek TV, and we truly couldn't have asked for a more appropriate episode of the show to match. Everything goes to hell, children are crying up and down, questionable arguments rage on, people are left for dead, interminable bits are beaten to within an inch of their life and then beaten several inches further... are we talking about the show, or the podcast? Yes! Sure, the crew of the Enterprise has a rough day on the high space seas, but they don't have to deal with smelly mummy mysteries, poor party etiquette, shoddy scientific grounding, overly-complex sausage cons, the horrifying consequences of poor climbing safety, and the life-scarring realities of birth, and that's just like 20 minutes or something! Look, all we're saying is maybe fatal ship-crippling disaster could be worse, and maybe we found a way to make it so. Best that you set your cougar traps, pop off your friend's head for support, and deputize your nearest weiner kids to bring you their finest, weirdest radishes while you settle into this record-setting episode of Trek TV! And seriously, whether you've listened to 200 episodes or just 2 minutes, the crew of Trek TV appreciates your inspiring us to keep making this show the biggest, most cacophonous disaster it can be, and here's to our next... 600, plus some movies and whatever other progressively more questionable series that spring into existence in the interim oh god we'll never escape will we Visit our website for fan art, news and more!

#199 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E04 - "Silicon Avatar". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. Call her Kila. She's a tough-talkin', revenge seekin' scientist whose tongue is as sharp as her computer skills, and she's here on the Enterprise to chew out androids who look like the one that led the Crystalline Entity to vaporize her son, and kick said Entity's ass after it just got caught red-handed vaporizing Riker's latest dry curry-loving dish, and she's all out of... oh wait, she's got an entire Data right there! But she hasn't counted on two things: that the brother of said son-murdering conspirator would actually be really helpful (kind of stupid to not expect, honestly), and that he'd also contain a vague simulacrum of said son with his final thoughts, feelings, and even the ability to reproduce his voice (probably fair not to have expected that). Obviously, this tale of devastatingly tragic loss and a single-minded quest for vengeance spanning decades can only end happily for all involved, so we hope we don't ruin the mood with our somber relevant discussions of the origins of bologna, the shocking lack of niceties available to Federation settlers, inexplicable bridge security failings, spiny anteater genitalia, and some amount more! We just hope that before you mercilessly destroy us, you'll at least try to communicate with us first about this particularly dark and depressing episode of Trek TV! Speaking of which, content warnings for: a brief discussion regarding suicide, and a not-brief-enough attempted reproduction of the "Brown Note". Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#198 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E03 - "Ensign Ro". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared.. Listeners! Are you tired of your boring, by-the-book, too-perfect starship crew? Then why not try the all-new, extra-abrasive, highly anti-social Ro Laren?! Straight from the stockade, this feisty disgraced officer comes complete* with sorrowful and checkered past, clip-on earring, and a chip on her shoulder to rival Worf's bandolier (it's actually a "baldric" apparently, but bandolier is more fun to say)! Act now, and we'll throw in thrilling (and possibly poorly-informed) discussions about the definition of terrorism, the tragic plight of the displaced and/or occupied Bajoran people, the latest in brothel-furniture-based fashion trends, unbelievably gullible Admirals, undeniably insane childhood worshipping of pig-shaped lawn ornaments, and so much more! This deal is so good, it nearly rendered Tracy temporarily blind! She's fine now. #197 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E02 - "Darmok". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek, Dereck, and Jared.. A podcast about Star Trek, on the internet. Darmok, a legendary episode. A long-lost podcast guest host, returned. Dathon and his questionable plan for forging understanding. The beast of El-Adrel, its electric body inadvisedly stabbed. A language composed entirely of metaphor, cool yet completely impractical. Picard, his basic wilderness survival skills shockingly lacking. Troi, easily discouraged by slight inconvenience. Derek and his lust for inappropriate licking. Jared, his fact-checking foiled. Modern media, its consumption decentralized. Many other things, their discussions also occurred. A podcast description, its gimmick not really working. Ostensible metaphors, actually mostly just descriptive statements. Trek TV's Darmok episode, enjoyed by all! DAAAAAARMOOOOOOOOK! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#196 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S05E01 - "Redemption: Part 2". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. Watch out, because Season 5 is coming in hot with Redemption Part 2: Redempt Harder! Well, except that Worf pretty much had his redemption rather anti-climatically redeemed in part 1... but that hasn't stopped them from packing this episode chock-full of action, intrigue, civil wars, exciting new revelations in the life of inescapable misery that was Tasha Yar's, Worf's ever-growing disenchantment with the reality of Klingon society, boob windows, and much more! Probably too much, honestly, and yet also not enough (Worf, arguably; boob windows, definitely)? So of course, we have no choice but to step up with an episode equally overstuffed with discussions of android microaggressions, chainsaw fights, misleadingly-shaped dog treats, interminable impressions of "Batman" singing "Dayman" for no reason possibly fathomable in any rational universe, and of course, the exciting contest details and minor Reservoir Dogs spoilers you've come to always expect from your friends here at Trek TV! In conclusion: we hope you enjoy this double-wide episode, because honestly there's no way we have many more chances at redemption left at this point and we don't have another podcast fleet to go crawling back to with our tail between our legs when this all inevitably goes to hell. #195 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E26 - "Redemption: Part 1". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek, Dustin, & Jared. It's the season finale, and Worf FINALLY gets to start poking a hole through the grand lies of the Klingon High Council, thus beginning his titular redemption-ing! But first, a few more eye-popping surprises may be brought to light... Now, here on Trek TV, we normally like to give our listeners a revealing glimpse into what they can expect from a new episode, but in this case, keeping y'all too abreast might prove a bit of a handful. While we hold the larger revelations close to our chests, we think of our listeners as our bosom buddies, so here's a little peek at just some of the juicy titbits you're about to ogle with your earholes: thoughtful ruminations on the logistics of craft services! Load-bearing rope deployment! Really weird-looking boots, and even weirder-looking pants! And many even bigger 'uns we can barely keep fully contained in a single podcast! We're pretty sure we've knocked'er out of the park so hard on this one that you'll hardly even notice who totally botched their recording, so we're not ashamed to throw wide the curtains, let it all hang out, and milk it for all it's worth, and you best do likewise! Just pop open a window, grab some huge honkin' jugs of your favorite refreshment, and enjoy what critics are calling "one of the biggest bags of fun in recent mamory(sic)!": this particularly ample episode of Trek TV! Boobs. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#194 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E25 - "In Theory". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. When doing science, it's important to remember that not every theory will stand up to new information. In theory, someone who decides to pursue a romantic relationship with an android would realize he's prooobably gonna be just as much android as they already knew he was BEFORE they decided to pursue said relationship. In theory, the same android who's been in Starfleet for MORE THAN TWO DECADES, and could probably consume the collected works of humanity in like one week off, would not be confused by basic human idioms and figures of speech so much anymore. In theory, a person being embedded partway through the deck of a ship as it briefly phases out and then back into normal space would be a pretty horrific, badass image that could haunt one's memory for decades... well, it's comforting to know that SOME theories do indeed stand up to the test of time. But this isn't a podcast about science, it's a podcast about simultaneously celebrating and gently poking fun at some of Data's more ridiculous inexplicable blindspots, recognizing that Chief O'Brien (or at least one of them) is a truly negligent husband, and butt troubles (*this content likely cut). And that's ALL it is about! But also there's all that and so much more, in this particularly games-with-your-heart-playin' episode of Trek TV! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#193 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E24 - "The Mind's Eye". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. Well, it was an absolutely fantastic conference, but you sure are glad to be home! It's funny though... thinking back on it, the best part of the whole trip was probably when you were listening to the newest episode of your favorite irreverent Star Trek podcast on the way there! In fact, you were so engrossed in the fascinating insights on the acceptability of empathic contact highs, the consideration of strangely lacking long-term effects of traumatic and invasive extreme mental re-conditioning, and the loveable long-standing abuse of the Irish, that you barely even noticed when that weird van with what appeared to be... Australian license plates that said "NORTH AMERICAN" on them(?) passed at shockingly high speed and then just as quickly slammed on the brakes right in front of you! Thank goodness you were able to stop in time, though those jerks immediately accelerated off again before you even had the chance to lay on the horn.... didn't they? It's strange, it all seems to get a bit fuzzy there... must have been the adrenaline. Anyway, you're home now, refreshed and ready to get back to your true passion: telling [MAKING] everyone enjoy that new and amazing episode of Trek TV! All must listen. All must enjoy. #192 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E23 - "The Host". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Maximum Derek & Jared. "The Host" is a 2006 monster film by Bong Joon-ho, while his most recent, Academy Award-winning film is "Parasite". Neither of these actually have anything to do with this TNG episode, "The Host", about a parasite (well, it's a "sybiont" but what advantages it gives to its host are... fuzzy at best) who worms its way into our dear Dr. Crusher's heart (not to mention Riker's gut); however, watching either would arguably be a far superior use of your time than this sloppy, noisy, brother-makeout of an episode. That doesn't mean we can't (though it also doesn't necessarily mean we SHOULD....) "host" our own share of discussions about such topics as the bewildering origins of Trill society, the shockingly limited "ability to love" of super-advanced future humans, and the lickability of people-buckets. And hey, a lot more time in the oven with these same rudimentary ingredients did give us the far better realized Trill of later series, so at least there's that. So don't be like the poor Dr. with her crushed heart, dear listener, and open yourself to new experiences... namely, enjoying this possibly most-disgusting-ever episode of Trek TV! #191 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E22 - "Half A Life". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek, Dustin, & Jared. Trek TV episode description date: May 15, 2021. Lwaxana Troi is in this one. But wait! Come back! She's actually not just a complete joke for once! Yes, in an absolutely unprecedented (and frankly somewhat inconceivable) turn of events, we have encountered a Lwaxana episode that has both depth AND nuance, as it deals with such heady subjects as the melancholies of growing old, the morality of caring for (or discarding) the aged, and the right/obligation to end one's own life. In response, we talk a lot about bangin', shootin' corpses into the sun, and the stupidest way to end one's own life. So yeah, it's probably best you rise and shine, forget about Timicin, ignore all the surface tension, and try to enjoy another completely non-controversial episode of Trek TV! #190 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E21 - "The Drumhead". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. In the Starfleet justice system, potential conspiracy investigations are represented by two separate yet definitely unequal groups: the wise, measured, and rational Starfleet captain who waxes eloquently regarding freedom and decency, and the fanatical, paranoid, and downright insane retired Starfleet admiral who completely loses her goddamned mind when the words of her own beloved father reveal her true vindictive hypocrisy. This is Trek TV's podcast about their story.* Also, we somehow have some actual, honest-to-god personal insights about the functioning of a REAL criminal justice system, and we're not even the defendants! This time. Plus all the hot life-threatening confidential data smuggling tips you could ever want or need (we accept no responsibility when you are inevitably caught and sentenced to a slow death) and more, in this week's particularly dramatic and thought-provoking episode of Trek TV! *Not a Dick Wolf production, though we have been called names that are remarkably similar. #189 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E20 - "Qpid". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. Ahhh, Robin Hood. The Duke of Thieves! The Man of Tights! The Jolly Green Outlaw! Yes, the tale of the fellow from Sherwood Forest and his merry gang is obviously a perfect fit for the socialist heroes of the Enterprise, and thanks to a "favour?" or "lesson(?!?)" from our pal Q, this episode has all the legendary Robin Hood elements you love to see: Swordfights! Explosive arm capsules! Breathtakingly wide gulfs in stunt double quality! Female characters having to inexplicably fight a real life-or-death struggle via cartoonish clay pot bashings, despite being the only actors actually trained in swordfighting, because the director must have suffered some kind of undiagnosed stroke while filming! And virtually NO archery, certainly not from "Robin Hood" himself! Also Vash is back and she's continuing to TCB so hard even a nigh-omnipotent godbeing can't help but get all over that. Yes, it's a fun, light-hearted episode, so you KNOW we fit a solid chunk of serious discussion about capital punishment in there. So don't be "Stu-pid": take a page out of Mr. Hood's book, steal all this and more from this content-rich episode of Trek TV, and give it to the poor person who matters most: yourself, dear listener! Poor in Trek-related podcast entertainment, we mean. We don't know your financial status, probably. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#188 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E19 - "The Nth Degree". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. Hey, listeners! Barclay's a computer! And Picard reeaaeally wants him to stop all the downloadin'. Now, we at Trek TV don't know a lot about computers, other than the ones we got in our houses (our moms put some audio software on there and we record podcasts with'em sometimes), so instead we'll have to try and help computer Barclay the only way we do know: by somehow finding a way to make Pep & Ched even more unwholesome, giving poor Geordi the business even worse than UberReg does, and considering whether we've just found the laziest alien "explorers" ever. And even with all that and more nonsense, how about fitting in some of our patented kvetching about the state of popular media to show just how "in touch" and "with it" we are? Yes, we're happy to "give you the stick" as we truly take Star Trek recapping and discussion to "the Nth degree" with this inexplicably lengthy episode of... TREK T-V! A Real Multinational Podcast! *Now with TWO nations! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#187 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E18 - "Identity Crisis". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek and Jared. Turns out Geordie was always a creature, who knew? We knew. Listen here now while we fill you in on the finer points. Good news is, it only takes 45 minutes to convey that to someone accurately. Enjoy this shockingly brief episode of Trek TV, but brace yourself lest the overwhelming enthusiasm packed into its short runtime convert you into the horrible veiny beast you were always meant to be. #186 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E17 - "Night Terrors". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. You're having that dream again. Darkness. Clouds. Crashing thunder. You're being shot in the most unflattering way possible. Your hat is unspeakably gigantic. Truly, a nightmare! Suddenly, a voice from the dark... "Podcast, in your ears. 4 idiots, blathering." Of course! You awaken suddenly, feeling properly refreshed and rested for the first time in days. Rising from your blood-and-grease-soaked mattress, you happily put away your ceremonial knife table; you won't be needing it anymore. The long national nightmare is over, because you have finally found the answer: the newest episode of Trek TV. Sweet dreams, beloved listener. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#185 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E16 - "Galaxy's Child". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek, Jared, and (eventually) Dustin. Hey, so excited to finally meet, we've heard so much about you! You're a big fan of performing caesarean sections on big space perogies too, right? Oh, how'd we know that? We just happened to see your name on the signup sheet for Dr. Tracy's 15-Minute C-Section C-minar, that's all. And you're also not alone in your frequent curiousity about the muddiness of the dump, or your love of both making fun of and having surprisingly nuanced discussions about awkward creepy behaviour, either! Just something we overheard. Now, it may seem like we know a suspicious amount about you, but that's just because you're among friends here at Trek TV. Maybe... good friends? Also, while you enjoy this totally non-creepy episode of Trek TV, why not consider making your passwords a bit more secure? No particular reason, just friendly concern. Whoops, the cops are here again, you'll have to enjoy the episode without us I guess! See you space baby... Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#184 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E15 - "First Contact". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek and Jared. Listen, we all know why you're here on this one, so let's cut right to the chase: yes, this IS the episode where a guy tries to absolutely murder Riker in a hospital with a massive length of inexplicable surgical copper pipe, and don't worry, we definitely cover it with all the care and attention it deserves. Plus, we FINALLY point out the mysterious Ten Forward regular who's always wearing the orange shirt and brown slacks (ps. it turns out he's not the waiter from Lower Decks). But it's not all fun and games, as our consideration of arguably the BEST SCENE IN THE ENTIRE SERIES leads to some shockingly serious considerations of the questions it raises about the nature of consent under duress and double standards... don't worry though, because we still fit in a LOT of dick jokes. Like, probably too many. Really, that and the rest of it likely cancels all that serious stuff out, so even if this is your first contact with the podcast, we think you can trust that you'll enjoy yourself as we welcome you into the exciting and startling universe of Trek TV! Just make sure you protect your junk, and if you don't like it you REALLY don't have to try and martyr yourself in protest; we don't need another lawsuit. #183 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E14 - "Clues". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. Mysteries! We humans just love solving'em. But did you know that the solution to more than 95% of mysteries are at best just severely unsatisfying, if not deeply disappointing, and that's when they don't just lead to your wholesale destruction? So the next time you stumble upon a tantalizing trail of clues, just remember this simple rule: "Myster-E? Let it B!" This important public service announcement is brought to you by this week's episode of Trek TV; if you'd like to learn more, listen in as we further detail the dangers of deductive reasoning while also discussing such non-mysterious things as weird pink moss balls, brief glimpses of luscious centuries-old alien gams, the indescribable power of a good space ham, and more. But be aware: there MAY be some rare mention of clues. Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#182 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E11 - "Devil's Due". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Dustin, Derek, & Jared. Well, we were certainly due for it, but Vaughn and Tracy must have royally cheesed off the Devil with this one because Ol' Scratch done gone ahead and claimed their souls; which is to say, he spirited their audio track away straight to Hell. Thankfully, we're wise to that original flim-flam demon's tricks and our backup recording was safely hidden away from their... dumb pitchfork thing? So no need to have sympathy for us, dear listeners; reserve that for yourself, as our constant paranoia of imminent damnation means you get to enjoy all the devil-skin tight outfits, high-pitched shrieks, and absolutely staggeringly lengthy digressions of this double-wide episode of Trek TV in basically listenable quality! See ya in hell! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#181 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E12 - "The Wounded". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. An episode that doesn't just introduce the ever-duplicitous, extemely over-necked Cardassians, but finally shines a proper spotlight on everyone's favorite put-upon transporter chief?! Spoon us up a heaping helping of that delicious O'Brian-brand slop, please! Just don't expect simply a pleasant, relaxing meal, as we dig deep into the messy enigma that is The Chief and discover some SHOCKING truths that reveal far more than we ever bargained for. Also rogue captain, Picard narrowly averts war yadda yadda yadda but come on we know what we're really here to see. So make sure your air intake is clear, hum your favorite war ditty, and try not to look directly at the terrible Gul facial hair as you partake in our OWN special pile of slop that is Trek TV! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#180 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E11 - "Data's Day". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Derek & Jared. Just what does Data get up to in a typical day? Oh, nothing that different than you or I. Pets his cat. Runs the night shift. Crushes the bones in his partner's feet trying to learn how to dance. Almost destroys a friend's wedding because he apparently has never consumed or internalized any romance fiction. Narrowly avoids stopping a massive Federation intelligence breach. You know, pretty humdrum stuff. Don't worry though, it's not all this boring routine; they manage to make up for that with some of the most exciting barbershop action you could imagine! So put on your least uncanny wig, stop crouching behind that shrub, and enjoy another unexpectedly hair-heavy episode of Trek TV, you lunkhead! Visit our website for fan art, news and more!
#179 In this episode of Trek TV we discuss Star Trek: The Next Generation S04E10 - "The Loss". Hosted by Tracy and Vaughn. Guest starring Dustin, Derek, & Jared. It's time for special conceptual episode of Trek TV! That's right, in order to allow you, the listener, to truly feel poor Counselor Troi's devastating loss of a vital sense, we've cleverly made a good portion of the audio on this one rather painful to listen to! Or maybe it's just an unfortunate side effect of damaged neckmeat. Sorry! We're just a couple 2D (aurally) chuckleheads trying to get by in this crazy 3D world. Relatedly, this is another of several episodes we had to record together in advance, so we couldn't get any emails in. Don't worry, you'll hear them eventually! In the meantime, why not grab your favorite inexplicable crystal, climb on the most docile steed you can find, and call all your daddies (at least 50) over to enjoy this generally audible episode of Trek TV!
