Steven Freie is back mounting a defense for Hulkamania, we eat weird snacks, we smell some dog farts. Let's go.
In this episode of Crossing Faiths, John Pinna speaks with Joseph Yoo for a "wellness check" following the death of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, a shared childhood hero. They explore the complex emotions of mourning a figure they once idolized, grappling with the stark contrast between Hogan's heroic on-screen persona and the flawed, often controversial, reality of the man, Terry Bollea. The discussion delves into the power of nostalgia, the nature of parasocial relationships with celebrities, and the difficulty of reconciling a beloved character with a problematic individual. They reflect on how wrestling's simplified good-versus-evil narratives shaped their youth and compare the fervor of "Hulkamania" to a form of religious belief, ultimately concluding that their grief was for the loss of the character and the significant part of their childhood he represented. Joseph Yoo is the priest of Mosaic Episcopal church in Houston. You can visit https://linktr.ee/JosephYoo to connect with him.
This week in Brett's Man Cave, we paused for something deeper — a heartfelt memorial to those we've lost. Whether they were family, friends, icons, or personal heroes, we honored their memories with respect, stories, and a moment of silence that said more than words ever could. It was about grief, yes — but also gratitude. Because every name we spoke carried a legacy. Then the conversation took a turn toward two larger-than-life figures: Ozzy Osbourne and Hulk Hogan — men who rose to iconic status but faced very human struggles along the way. We unpacked Ozzy's battle with addiction, his health issues, and how the rock legend reinvented himself again and again. Behind the "Prince of Darkness" persona is a man who's fought through demons many of us know too well — pain, loss, and trying to keep going when the spotlight fades. But it was Hulk Hogan who stirred the deepest debate. We revisited the golden days of Hulkamania — the red-and-yellow icon who told us to train hard, say our prayers, and believe in ourselves. But we also had to confront the darker parts of his legacy. His involvement in scandals — especially the leaked recordings that revealed racist comments — became a dividing line for fans and critics alike. Some saw it as an unforgivable stain, others viewed it as a tragic flaw in an otherwise impactful career. Some mourned the man who defined their childhoods, while others questioned the depth of that grief, pointing to the damage his words caused. The room wasn't united — and maybe that's the point. Legacies are complicated. Heroes are flawed. And sometimes, honoring the dead means wrestling with the truth about who they really were. This week was heavy, but real. And in Brett's Man Cave, that's exactly how we keep it — real talk, real emotion, and room for every side of the story.
Send us a textBrother, whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on your eardrums? This week on "Entertain This!", we're putting on the red and yellow to talk about the man who brought wrestling to the mainstream: Hulk Hogan. We'll trace his incredible journey from the "body slam heard 'round the world" at WrestleMania III to his shocking heel turn as "Hollywood" Hogan. But his story isn't just about the ring. We'll also dissect his memorable, and sometimes bizarre, acting career in films like Rocky III, No Holds Barred, and Mr. Nanny. Professional wrestling legend Hulk Hogan (real name: Terry Bollea) passed away on Thursday, July 24 in Clearwater, Florida. He was 71 years old. Hulk Hogan was and remains one of the most important figures in American and global popular culture. Hulk Hogan/Terry Bollea also leaves behind a very complicated legacy. Brian R. Solomon is a leading professional wrestling journalist, historian, and author. He is the host of the popular Shut up and Wrestle podcast. His new book is Irresistible Force: The Life and Times of Gorilla Monsoon. Solomon reflects on why the death of Hulk Hogan has caused so much emotional pain and tumult for those of us who came of age in the 1980s and directly experienced the rise of the global cultural phenomenon that was the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) and Hulkamania. Solomon details why Hulk Hogan and the WWF's meteoric rise, his decades-long career (including reinventing himself as the leader of the New World Order faction in World Championship Wrestling), and marriage of personality and cultural moment will never be repeated again in professional wrestling, and likely sports more broadly. Solomon and Chauncey discuss their love of professional wrestling and why Hulk Hogan was so central to it – and also try to process how Terry Bollea's foul behavior and values such as his racism, hostility to labor unions, and public alliance with Donald Trump and the MAGA movement complicates that relationship and nostalgia. In this provocative episode of The Professor Liberty Podcast, Mr. Palumbo, your favorite "undocumented conservative social studies teacher" pulls back the curtain on one of the most mysterious and powerful institutions in America: the Federal Reserve. With his signature mix of humor, skepticism, and historical insight, he traces the Fed's shadowy origins from the secretive 1910 Jekyll Island meeting to its enormous influence on today's economy. From inflation to interest rates, from the gold standard to quantitative easing, this episode explores how the Fed shapes the value of your dollar and raises serious constitutional and ethical questions about accountability, transparency, and control. Packed with facts, reflections, and a little bit of Hulkamania, this is a must-listen for anyone who wants to understand how economic power operates behind closed doors—and what reforms might put it back in the hands of the people.

This week we give some love to the immortal Hulk Hogan. As everyone knows, Hogan passed away recently and since he was Greg's childhood hero, we had to dedicate an episode to the character that is Hulk Hogan. If it wasn't for him, wrestling today would not be what it is. Hulkamania would not be running wild and we would have never taken our vitamins! So give this one a listen as you grab a WWF ice cream bar and wear your red and yellow!

Welcome to Wrestling Tonight: Chad returns with Acefield Retro for your weekly deep dive into WWE, AEW, NJPW, TNA, and everything in between. On July 24, 2025, the wrestling world lost its most recognizable icon. Terry Bollea, Hulk Hogan passed away at the age of 71, leaving behind a legacy as towering as his persona. From Saturday morning cartoons to WrestleMania main events, Hogan was the face that launched wrestling into pop culture. But his story is as complicated as it is influential. This week, we reflect on the full scope of Hogan's life, the glory, the controversy, and the impact that can still be felt across every locker room in the world. WWE opened SmackDown with a ten-bell salute. NJPW honored him during G1 Climax. TNA, where he wrestled his final match, dedicated an entire broadcast in his memory. And yet, as the tributes poured in, so did the uncomfortable reminders of the man behind the myth. We break it all down: – The reverence and reckoning: how fans, wrestlers, and promoters are responding – Hogan's final weeks, his real cause of death, and conflicting reports that preceded it – A career that spanned generations — from Hulkamania to the nWo and beyond – A legacy not easily defined, but impossible to ignore Also this week:

The latest episode of the First Black Champ Podcast delves into the multifaceted legacy of Hulk Hogan, tracing his rise from wrestling icon to polarizing figure. Born Terry Gene Bollea in 1953, Hogan's career began under various personas before exploding in the WWF during the "Hulkamania" era. His patriotic persona and WrestleMania appearances made him a 12-time world champion and a household name. Hogan also ventured into Hollywood with roles in Rocky III and other films, as well as hosting a cartoon series. His WCW tenure saw him turn heel as "Hollywood" Hogan, co-founding the influential nWo faction. Despite accolades like two WWE Hall of Fame inductions, Hogan's legacy is clouded by personal scandals, including a lawsuit over a leaked sex tape and racist remarks that temporarily severed ties with WWE. In later years, he embraced sobriety, faith, and business ventures, while becoming politically vocal. Hogan passed away on July 24, 2025, at age 71, leaving a legacy that transformed pro wrestling into a global phenomenon, albeit with controversy. The episode also previews the stacked SummerSlam card, featuring marquee matches like Gunther vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes in a Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship, and a massive 6-team TLC match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Other highlights include Becky Lynch defending the Women's Intercontinental Championship in a No DQ match and Naomi facing Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY in a triple-threat bout. In the "Do We Care" segment, the hosts discuss Goldberg's frustrations over his retirement match, rumors of a potential AEW run, and Travis Scott reportedly stepping away from WWE. They also question whether Damien Priest has lost momentum compared to Drew McIntyre and react to AJ Styles' return to TNA. This episode is packed with wrestling insights, nostalgia, and hot takes!
In this episode, the fellas take a detour from the Mission to pay their respects to the one and only Immortal Hulk Hogan.
