This month, we traveled to western Arkansas to visit Miss Laura's Brothel Museum in Fort Smith. In this episode, we discuss our tour, the background of the museum, and the history of brothels. Known for its elegance and high standards, it was a popular establishment in Fort Smith. Today, it has been transformed into a museum that preserves and showcases the vibrant history of Fort Smith, as well as the captivating lives of the women who worked there.Miss Laura's provides a comprehensive educational experience regarding the history of prostitution, women's rights, and women's experiences in Fort Smith and other similar communities.

This summer, we're taking you to a few spots in the south. This month, we drove to Gibsland, Louisiana, and explored the Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum. It's the centerpiece of tiny Gibsland, housed in a building that used to be Ma Canfield's Cafe. Bonnie and Clyde stopped here on May 23, 1934, bought a fried baloney sandwich and BLT to go, then headed down the road in their soon-to-be "Death Car" (a stolen V-8 Ford) and got killed.
