Milfred and Hands dissect Elon Musk’s impact on the Wisconsin Supreme Court race last week and look ahead to next year’s midterm elections in the swing state and beyond. President Donald Trump's billionaire buddy spent more than $20 million trying to elect Judge Brad Schimel to the Badger State's top court. Musk and Schimel failed in a blowout to Justice-elect Susan Crawford, who won by a quarter-million votes. A left-leaning majority will now hold the court until at least 2028, which would keep abortion legal and force changes to Wisconsin's congressional districts. Musk's lottery-like antics and fake-cheese persona turned off more voters than it charmed.
On this episode: Breaking down the high-stakes April 1st elections, featuring two of the most closely watched contests since last November. First, Wisconsin Public Radio's Anya van Wagtendonk joins us to unpack Judge Susan Crawford's double-digit victory in the nation's most expensive judicial race in history, what drove the record-breaking turnout, and how the results could shape abortion access, union rights, and redistricting in the Badger State. Then we head south with POLITICO Florida's Gary Fineout to explore two Republican-held special elections, the retention of those seats, and why closer-than-expected margins—even in deep-red districts in Florida—are worth analyzing . From Elon Musk's influence to shifting county-level dynamics, this episode connects the dots on how local races could ripple nationally.Learn more about each race:Wisconsin Supreme Court: https://ballotpedia.org/Wisconsin_Supreme_Court_elections,_2025 Florida Congressional: https://ballotpedia.org/Florida%27s_1st_Congressional_District_special_election,_2025 Check out our guest's reporting:Wisconsin Public Radio's Anya van Wagtendonk: https://www.wpr.org/person/anya-van-wagtendonk Politico's Gary Fineout: https://www.politico.com/staff/gary-fineout Sign up for our Newsletters: https://ballotpedia.org/Ballotpedia_Email_Updates Stream "On the Ballot" on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts. Sadly, it's not going to warm up until Friday. And even then, it's only going back into the 20's. It's another Tuesday, so we were once again joined by Grant Bilse from the Wisco Sports Show as he is back in the Badger State after spending last week in the Big Easy for Super Bowl 59. We let you know what's new on DVD for New Release Tuesday and we talked about what's on TV later tonight. Also, Brian gave his review of the "Wolf Man" movie that was recently in theaters and is now on Prime. In the news this morning, a Holmen man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexual & physical abuse of young women, the family of the missing & pregnant 16 year-old girl have released a new statement, a pet microchip company abruptly shutters it's doors, and President Trump is ending the penny. In sports, the Bucks lost to the Golden State Warriors last night, the Badgers moved up considerably in the latest college basketball rankings, the Brewers report to spring training this week, and the team also announced a commemorative Bob Uecker patch to honor the Brewer legend. Elsewhere in sports, Tiger Woods pulled out of this week's tournament at Torrey Pines after the death of his mother, Anthony Mackie was just named the Grand Marshall for this weekend's Daytona 500, and Philly fans gonna Philly when the Eagles win the Super Bowl. We had a bunch of Valentine's Day stuff as we get closer to Friday…including a poll about whether or not people plan on celebrating, and what they're planning on doing if they are celebrating the holiday. Plus, an entrepreneur who will be your "villain for hire" so you can save your date on V-Day! How chivalrous! Touching story coming out of the LA Wildfires involving an elderly man & the firefighters who were able to save his home. And another heart-warming article about a sad donkey named Eeyore who recently made friends with a yoga ball. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a road rage incident involving fireworks, a Bryan Adams concert that got canceled because of a "fatberg", a #FloridaCouple who got busted for banging at a bus stop in front of a Wendy's, an update on a dealership in #Florida that carjacked one of it's own customers, and a Wisconsin couple that were arguing about their wedding venue…and one of them got stabbed! Greetings from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport! Always love flying back to the Badger State where the Spotted Cow tastes just as good as I remember and team president Mark Murphy essentially built an entirely new town around Lambeau Field. (Great work, Mark.) It was a very busy week of reporting for future stories at Go Long in Green Bay, Wisc. — make sure you're subscribed to read ‘em all. But before heading to the airport to fly back to Western New York, I recorded this Substack Live with Peter Bukowski of “The Leap” and the Locked On Packers podcast. We try to make a little more sense of the mess in Chicago and what the Bears could do to make Caleb Williams' life easier. Also, will we witness another second-half surge out of Jordan Love? The Packers sure hope so.This was fun. As a reminder, you can download the Substack app here to catch these impromptu videos with fellow Substackers live:Miss our feature today? I caught up again with Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. He's come a long way from nobody recognizing him at Elmo's for chicken wings as a rookie. Hamlin opens up more on the night he died and came back to life. His comeback represents the beauty of the sport.Thank you for reading, subscribing and sharing, everyone. This is a public episode. Wisconsin remains one of the pivotal swing states anticipated to play a decisive role in the 2024 presidential election. With its ten electoral votes up for grabs, both campaigns have spent much time there in the closing weeks. The Badger State is also considered part of the Democrats' 'blue wall,' so losing it could be a significant blow to Vice President Kamala Harris. Earlier this week, FOX 6 Milwaukee political reporter Jason Calvi joined host Dave Anthony to discuss the Wisconsin race and what issues, demographics, and regions could potentially determine the winner. We often must cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full interview. Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with FOX 6 Milwaukee political reporter Jason Calvi and help learn about the critical battleground state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin has ten electoral votes up for grabs, and both candidates campaigned there on Wednesday to drum up last-minute support. The Badger State is part of the 'blue wall,' which Vice President Kamala Harris is eager to win. FOX 6 Milwaukee political reporter Jason Calvi joins to break down what he sees on the ground and emphasize what the candidates need to do in their final days. One of the biggest focuses on Election Day will be on the state of Pennsylvania, where swing state voters could decide not just the White House but also control of the U.S. Senate. Incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Casey Jr. is defending his seat from GOP challenger and businessman Dave McCormick, who has closed the gap on Casey's lead in the polls in the past few weeks. Republican Senate candidate in Pennsylvania, Dave McCormick, joins to explain his view of President Biden's “garbage” comment and why he believes the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will deliver victories to both him and former President Trump. Join Jim and Greg as they squeeze four stories into today's podcast, from the DNC's absurd efforts to undermine democracy in Wisconsin to Mark Zuckerberg admitting the FBI, the White House and other federal entities pressured him over online speech and from Kamala Harris tacitly backing a border wall to the return of repression and terrorist safe havens in Afghanistan. Before the official martinis, they highlight how Democrats are trying to limit voters' options ahead of the presidential election. The Wisconsin Supreme Court has thankfully dismissed a lawsuit trying to kick the Green Party's Jill Stein off the ballot in the Badger State. And it has to be one of the dumbest arguments for removing a candidate that we've ever heard. Then, they react to Meta's Mark Zuckerberg admitting to House Republicans that the Biden administration urged him to censor COVID-19 content on Facebook, including humor and satire. And the FBI pre-emptively told him to be on the lookout for "Russian disinformation" about the Biden family and Burisma, so he was predisposed to spike the story of the Hunter Biden laptop when it was reported in the NY Post.Next, they assess an Axios story that suggests Kamala Harris has flip-flopped again, this time embracing a border wall since she's on the record backing the Senate immigration bill. This change in policy is not something her staffers have announced, but it's another sign she is running to the middle despite her long radical record - and its happening while Democrats are planning a very progressive agenda in Congress with her full blessing. Finally, they wince as the Taliban reimpose some of the most repressive policies against women just as we mark three years since the disastrous Biden withdrawal from Afghanistan. Jim also points out terrorist groups, including Al Qaeda, are thriving there again. And all of it happening with your tax dollars. Please visit our great sponsors:Zbioticshttps://zbiotics.com/3MLUse code 3ML at checkout to save 15% off your first order.

On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: With the presidential election now just 112 days out, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump—still recovering from the attempt on his life—are both moving forward with their respective campaigns. President Biden is in Las Vegas while Donald Trump is trying to win over voters in the Badger State at the RNC. EWTN's Owen Jensen reports. Less than 2 years ago, JD Vance wasn't even part of the political scene, but now he's the new face of the Make American Great Again movement. While on the campaign trail running for the senate, he held pro-life views. Mene Ukueberuwa, a member of the Wall Street Journal joins us to discuss further JD Vance and his position on things like the economy, social issues, and foreign policy. Allison Ricciardi, a licensed mental health counselor and founder of catholictherapist.com, joins us to discuss the assassination attempt and how traumatic events such as this can affect people. Beginning today, a twelve day celebration through next Sunday to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a Roman tradition that dates back to nearly 500 years.
Next week's Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, aims to emphasize the importance of winning the purple Midwestern state, where former President Trump now currently leads in the polls. Most election pundits consider Wisconsin key to a Republican victory in 2024, perhaps even winning back the Senate as well. Democratic incumbent Tammy Baldwin is fighting to keep her seat in the Badger State while her opponent, conservative businessman Eric Hovde, is running nearly unopposed for the GOP. Hovde joins the Rundown to discuss his primary race next month, why he chose to run for Senate twelve years after his first loss, and how the convention may help his party. The Justice Department revealed on Tuesday that they have taken action to thwart a misinformation scheme that was led by a Russian intelligence officer and a journalist at Russia Today (which is controlled by the Kremlin). The plot involved over 1,000 "bot" accounts on X, formerly known as Twitter, that were sharing pro-Russia propaganda. FOX News Justice Correspondent David Spunt joins to explain how the covert propaganda campaign was uncovered, why artificial intelligence has made it harder to spot fake accounts, and how the American government has prepared for further foreign adversaries attempting digital interference. Plus, commentary from FOX News contributor Joe Concha. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Joining the Marines after dropping out of college, Tyler Stallings was the old man in the group of recruits that he enlisted with. That wasn't a bad thing though as the Texas native admitted that he had some growing up to do and was forced to do it quickly. It turned into one of the best experiences of his life and helped mold him into the man he is today. One of the things that he missed the most while in the service was the sport of archery and being in the outdoors. It was there that the idea behind StealthRig was born and the rest, as they say, is history. Fast forward to the 2024 Archery Trade Association Show in St. Louis this past January and Stallings found himself onstage accepting The Impact Award for Best New Product. Beating out over 150 other items launched at the show, the modular bino harness system is unique in that it features a steel plate on the back, allowing you to attach your bow to it and navigate hands free in any environment.I had the pleasure of catching up with Tyler on the show floor as well as seeing him at Mission 28 here in Wisconsin in April. He and his brother in law attended our private event at Vortex Optics and made the trip up to the HHA factory for a tour later that week. With a product ideal for the Western hunter, he will be seeing a lot of The Badger State in 2024, attending all of the Beast Mode Archery Challenge events.A strong man of faith, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Tyler and am excited to see his brand grow as the years go by. His humble nature, servant's heart and passion for the outdoors will no doubt allow him to thrive in a competitive industry. A new consensus is settling in among political analysts: Donald Trump's poll numbers look unexpectedly formidable in states like Arizona and Georgia, which means President Biden's most likely path to victory requires winning Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. And yet Trump will almost certainly lose if he can't win one of those three. That's why Democrats can stop Trump if they beat him in Wisconsin. We talked to Ben Wikler, the chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, who explains how years of painstaking organizing is laying the groundwork to defeat Trump by thwarting his designs, first and foremost, in the Badger State. Four states go to the polls, including Wisconsin, where 13% of Republicans vote for Nikki Haley and 8% of Democrats say they're uncommitted. Does this signal weakness for Donald Trump and Joe Biden? Plus, the Badger State bans "Zuckerbucks," and a report on the IRS's expansion plans shows the agency struggling to hire as it tries to ramp up audits on the wealthy.
