Join America's Roundtable (https://americasrt.com/) radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy with U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, senior senator for Tennessee and the first woman to represent the Volunteer State in the United States Senate. She serves on the Deputy Whip Team and is a member of the Finance Committee; the Commerce, Science & Transportation Committee; the Veterans' Affairs Committee; and the Judiciary Committee. Senator Marsha Blackburn serves as the Ranking Member on the Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security and on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law. Before her election to the Senate, Marsha represented Tennessee's 7th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. The conversation focuses on the following topics: ✅ President Trump's State of the Union Address, presenting his vision for a Golden Age of America. ✅ Senator Blackburn requiring transparency and accountability, working with FBI Director Kash Patel in obtaining unredacted Epstein logs and other pertinent materials ✅ Senator Blackburn spearheading DOGE Acts to hold the federal government accountable for managing taxpayer dollars. Collaborative efforts with Elon Mask in making the federal government more efficient and slash wasteful spending. ✅ Strengthening the economic partnership between the U.S. and Taiwan. ✅ Senator Blackburn's recently introduced Tax Administration Simplification Act, to provide straightforward, taxpayer-focused improvements to streamline tax filing and payment for individuals and small businesses. ✅ Strengthening US-Israel ties and combating anti-Semitism with new leadership in Congress and the White House. ✅ Making America Healthy Again | Healthy foods and eating habits for a healthier America. Throughout her time in Congress, Marsha has led the fight to hold Communist China accountable. Her in-depth analyses of the Chinese Communist Party's threats to American sovereignty have prompted Congress to examine legislation countering Beijing's malign influence on global supply chains, technology infrastructure, and international organizations. After Beijing took over the once autonomous region of Hong Kong in 2019, Marsha led bipartisan legislation, which was signed into law by President Trump, that prohibits the U.S. export of crowd control equipment to the Hong Kong Police Force. Her bipartisan Open Technology Fund Authorization Act, which supports internet freedom by addressing authoritarian regimes' efforts to censor the internet, was also signed into law. At the same time Marsha has stood up to Communist China, she has worked to bolster the U.S.-Taiwan relationship. In August 2022, she visited Taiwan, met with President Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei, and called to strengthen connections between the U.S. and Taiwan. During this visit, Marsha made her stance clear: Taiwan is a country. On border policy, Marsha bases her approach on the simple truth that until our borders are secure, every town will be a border town and every state will be a border state. In the Senate, she has led the charge to fully fund the United States Border Patrol, restart construction of a physical barrier, impose harsher criminal penalties for drug smuggling, and fight for law and order on behalf of the thousands of women and girls lost to cross-border human trafficking. Tennessee's Education Freedom Act of 2025 has become the nation's 13th universal school choice law. Tennessee lawmakers last week passed the statewide educational choice program, which will initially fund 20,000 scholarships—worth about $7,296 each—to children who want to attend private schools. Half of the scholarships in the first year are reserved for families whose incomes are at or below 300% of the eligibility level for the federal free or reduced-price lunch program. The rest of the scholarships are open to children of any income. Tennessee Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson explained, “This legislation has been marketed as a parental empowerment tool….We're not going to penalize people who work hard and might do a little better than someone else. We want these to be universal.” School choice empowers parents to choose the educational environments that will best help their children succeed. At least 40% of all students nationwide are eligible to participate in a school choice program. When parents have choices, students have more opportunities for their individual learning needs and goals to be met. Tennessee deserves congratulations for opening the doors to success for children in the Volunteer State.

After the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against a challenge to Biden's Food and Drug Administration which allowed the Abortion Kill Pill to be sent through the mail without an in-person doctor consultation, leaders of the Democratic Party are preparing in case a new Trump administration rescinds the approval or uses the 1873 Comstock Act to criminalize mailing the drug across state lines. According to a New York Times article, Governor Inslee's stockpile of the Abortion Kill Pill is locked away in a state warehouse. Inslee is one of at least five Democratic governors who have established stockpiles of Mifepristone. The others are the governors of California, Massachusetts, New York, and Oregon. Tennessee governor calls for 30 days of prayer and fasting in July In contrast to the radical leftist antics of the Washington Democratic State Governor, Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee made a great decision. In what has been described as an “historic gesture,” Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has signed a bill calling for 30 days of prayer and fasting beginning July 1 in the Volunteer State. Tennessee House Joint Resolution 0803 asks the people of the state “to seek God's hand of mercy and healing on Tennessee.” A letter signed by Tennessee state Senator Mark Pody and Representative Monty Fritts accompanying the resolution invites “those who are physically able and spiritually inclined to do so to join in a 30-day season of prayer and intermittent fasting for the month of July as a means of humbling ourselves to receive God's grace, mercy, and blessing in Tennessee and in our Nation.” The language of the legislators is reminiscent of 2 Chronicles 7:14 in which God says, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Couple discovers abandoned newborn A Katy, Texas couple was shocked on Saturday, June 15th, while out for a family walk, to discover an abandoned newborn baby girl with her umbilical cord still attached, reports FaithWire.com. Daniela Fedele told KHOU-TV that she and her husband noticed a towel on the ground, as her 3-year-old biked toward it, and immediately realized a baby was wrapped inside. FEDELE: “I noticed two little feet moving. My husband was right behind me with the dogs, and I yelled to my husband. ‘A baby, a baby!' And then my husband [was] like, ‘Call 911!' And that's what we did.” They moved the baby out of the heat and into a shaded area while waiting for police. FEDELE: “Once my husband went ahead and picked up the baby, he found the nearest tree right there at that house down the street. He found a little shade.” Fedele said she's in shock over the ordeal, and is struggling to understand why someone would leave the child. FEDELE: “This image has been going on through my head so many times. How can you do that? I was shocked. I was mad. I was upset.” Ultimately, Fedele said she's grateful her family went for a walk and discovered the baby. FEDELE: “I don't know [what] made us go for a walk this morning. We usually do, but sometimes, you know, you just don't want to do it, things happen. But, this morning, we're, like, ‘No let's go ahead and get out.'” I know Who made them go for a walk. The answer is clear. Almighty God Himself, in His compassionate providence, prompted them to go on that walk. Psalm 115:3 says, “Our God is in Heaven; He does whatever pleases Him.” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed the news of the baby's discovery. GONZALEZ: “The baby was a newborn. Still had fresh placenta on the baby. So, it was freshly born this morning. I praised her. I said, ‘You were in the right place at the right time.' The two witnesses that were thankfully walking on the trail, with their child and their dogs, were blessing.” According to a video taken from a neighbor's Ring camera on their doorbell, just two minutes before Danielle Fidele and her husband discovered the helpless baby girl, a young, slim Hispanic or White male with a fair complexion and black hair placed the baby, wrapped in the blanket on the ground and then ran away. According to the Houston Chronicle, the man, if identified, could face child abandonment charges. When KHOU-TV interviewed Brittney Barnes, a neighbor, she said this. BARNES: “It's still a little disheartening that the baby got left. It's hot. Somebody must have been going through something to have left their child there. But to find out that the baby was okay was a reliever.” The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the baby was found in good condition and will remain hospitalized as they try to locate her family. Fedele urged any young couple who feel trapped by a new baby to consider better options. FEDELE: “You can drop it off at a fire station, a police station, a hospital. But don't leave the baby!” Indeed, under the Baby Moses law, named after the baby rescued from the floating basket in the Nile River in Exodus 2:10, anyone who feels they are unable to care for a newborn younger than 60 days can drop off the child at a Safe Haven and avoid prosecution. As Daniela Fedele pointed out, Safe Havens include places like hospitals or fire stations. But the baby must be handed to an employee at that Safe Haven. 11 Worldview listeners donated $2,020 And finally, toward our $63,000 goal by this past Saturday, June 22nd – the three-week mark of our month-long fundraiser, 11 Worldview listeners stepped up to the plate to help fund our 6-member team for another fiscal year. America's Roundtable conversation with Senator Marsha Blackburn includes the following key topics: 1) Illegal immigration. Senator Marsha Blackburn, "Every state is a border state and every town is a border town.” Senator Blackburn's introduction of the Clear Law Enforcement for Criminal Alien Removal (CLEAR) Act, ensuring that state and local law enforcement-officials have the tools necessary to help the federal government deport criminal illegal immigrants from the United States. 2) Israel's right to self-defense against Iran-backed terrorist organization Hamas. Biden administration's failed foreign policy in the Middle East. 3) Illegal immigrants voting in Washington D.C. and local elections in California, Maryland and Vermont. Bitter cold temperatures continue across Tennessee. With the cold brings long days for farmers with livestock as they work to make sure their animals are well cared for. Thomas Capps Bitter cold continues Hello and welcome to Tennessee home and Farm Radio. I'm Thomas Capps. There's no farms or Charles Hord There's no farms closed today so you do have to do a little extra work when it's like this outside. Thomas Capps The snow has stop falling across the Volunteer State leaving behind large accumulation and bitterly cold temperatures. Most places are seeing highs only reaching the teens and lows in the single digits. That means farmers with livestock are working a bit harder, braving the dangerous temperatures to ensure their animals are well cared for. Tennessee Cattlemen Association Executive Vice President Charles Hord and his daughter Teddy Ann are out constantly checking on their sheep. Charles Hord You gotta make sure they've got their bellies full so, you know that helps regulate their warmth so every farmer in the state I know is putting out extra hay the next couple of days in knowing how cold it's gonna be. There's a lot of time spent watching water lines breaking up water tanks hoping your water lines don't freeze. Thomas Capps Keeping water broke can perhaps be the biggest challenge in weather like this. Kevin Ferguson with UT Extension has trough warmers and a geothermal system for his cattle but for those relying on breaking water, safety for both the animal and the farmer is important. Kevin Ferguson You will have stories during this time of year about farmers being out and trying to bust ice on ponds and for the cattle have access to water and out checking animals that are calving or having babies at this time. There's a lot of people that are right in the middle of calving and lambing and kidding now and you know they want to be out there taking care of those animals but they've got also figured out and make sure to protect themselves go in occasionally warm up, bundle up. Thomas Capps Ferguson also says now's the time to feed the best quality hay that you have as livestock rely on getting key nutrients to stay warm. It's days like these though we can all give thanks for the 2% that work to feed the other 98% of us. Kevin Ferguson They love this is a way of life. Yes, it's a business but it's also a way of life. Charles Hord This is the hard part of the job. Most of the year is a lot of fun having livestock. This is the time where you got to do a little work. Thomas Capps For Tennessee Home and Farm Radio, I'm Thomas Capps.
Thanks to the powers of modern technology, we are able to connect with anyone, anywhere, without leaving our house. Little did I know that a blog review of an archery sight 15 years ago would lead me to one of my best friends on the planet. Al Quackenbush and I communicate every day, through the You Version Bible App and our daily devotionals. We text frequently, hop on Zoom calls when we can work it into our schedules and see each other once a year in person. While I wish that we lived closer to have more face time, our friendship runs deep and I am eternally grateful that God brought us together.2023 was a big year for Al and his family. After many conversations with his wife and daughter and a lot of prayer, they relocated from Southern California to Nashville in June. It was a major move for the family but one that they have all embraced and they are loving life in The Volunteer State. With a network of friends already in place, Al has access to some private land which has made deer hunting opportunities a little easier than being on the west coast. He also headed back to New York to hunt with his family and it's been a successful fall even though he has yet to punch his tag.The move also brought about a rebranding for The SoCal Bowhunter. Wanting to share his faith more and appeal to a broader audience, Faithful Sportsman will be his new moniker, thanks to his wife Kymberli.Starting off 2024 at the ATA Show in St. Louis and SHOT in Vegas, there's no grass growing under Al's feet. At the same time, he and I both plan to try and eliminate the word busy from our schedule in the new year and be more intentional about keeping the first things first. I am excited about what the future holds for my dear friend and look forward to walking with him into this new season. You can follow Al on Facebook and Instagram, visit his web page at https://socalbowhunter.com/homepage and tune into the Sprocket and Chubbs Podcast, cohosted by Al and Navy Veteran Aaron Ritter. For more information about HHAUSA and how you can support our mission, visit www.hhausa.orgTo purchases HHAUSA hats, shirts, challenge coins and tumblers, visit www.hhasports.com
As 2023 comes to an end Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture, Charlie Hatcher is taking a look at how agriculture fared in 2023, and looking ahead to 2024. Thomas Capps Look back at agriculture in 2023. Hello, and welcome to Tennessee Home and Farm Radio. I'm Thomas Capps. Dr. Charlie Hatcher We've been really lucky in Tennessee because of the overwhelming support that we've got from our governor, Governor Bill Lee. Thomas Capps It's hard to believe that 2023 is almost history. Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture, Charlie Hatcher is reflecting on 2023, and how agriculture in the Volunteer State fared. His assessment? Dr. Charlie Hatcher The yields are going to be pretty good. We've had severe drought in large part of the state, and that's had some impact. But overall, I think, you know, the input costs may be down, some, we know fertilizer is down some., we know interest rates are high, and we've got these inflationary pressures. But input costs are still high, but maybe not as high as last year. But in general, I think you're right, it's going to be a pretty good year overall. Thomas Capps With 2023 soon to be in the rearview mirror, Hatcher is looking ahead to 2024. Dr. Charlie Hatcher Our biggest challenge is farmland loss and the aging of the farming population, so we we've got that to contend with. You know, the governor, one of his big, what he is really interested in is conservation. We don't know for sure what kind of conservation plan the governor is going to come up with, but we know he's got an interest in it. We're hopeful that ag and forestry land is part of that. Thomas Capps But despite the challenges we face heading into the new year, Hatcher says there's always hope in forming. Dr. Charlie Hatcher I think we're always have to be helpful, and even as we face the challenges, I think farmers are so resilient, that hope is just gonna flow like a spring. It's just that's why farmers are I think we're very helpful, especially in Tennessee, because of the progress we've made. And in the alliances and the collaboration and relationships and just the general environment where we find our sales that's reaping some great benefits for the ag and forestry industry. Thomas Capps For Tennessee Home and Farm Radio. I'm Thomas Capps. And from all of us here, we wish you and your family a very Happy New Year.
Featuring Tennessee State Senator & Pharmacist Shane Reeves "The Volunteer State" has been a Tennessee nickname since the 19th century but wasn't officially voted on until February 2020. Tennessee sent 1,500 volunteer soldiers during the War of 1812, and the nickname stuck. Requiring PBMs to contract with rural independent pharmacies: In Tennessee, there are 70 counties considered rural out of the 95 counties in the state. Tennessee lost 15 rural hospitals over the last few years, so healthcare access is an issue. Most of these towns have a community pharmacy which is the access point for a lot of health care and health care information for many Tennesseans. About Shane Reeves: Man of Faith, Husband, Father, CEO, Pharmacist, Public Servant (TN State Senator) As CEO of TwelveStone Health Partners, Shane's mission is to be the regional leader in post-acute chronic care pharmacy management, placing patients and their families at the center of everything he does. As faithful stewards, Shane leads his team to strive every day to glorify God.
