This week on the Motorsport Coaching podcast we catch up with one of the most recognized voices of Australian motorsport, Matt Naulty. You'll hear Matt's voice in Supercars, Speedway, Stadium Super Trucks, Drag Racing, and everything in between. Matt Payne and Naulty have been great mates for many years and this week's podcast is a recorded (thankfully condensed!) version of regular phone calls! Although Matt is a commentator, many of his learnings can translate to anyone looking to make a career out of motorsport whether behind the wheel or in a support role off track: Background in Motorsport from the Adelaide Grand Prix days From starting working as a crew member to the commentary box Never Give Up Attitude and chasing the goal Adapting between motorsport disciplines The American dream - we talk about Scott McLaughlin and the Indy 500 (this was recorded just days before qualifying for the 105th Indy 500) - and Matt's whirlwind trips from one side of the world to the other and back to record Stadium Super Trucks Harnessing ambition and work that happens away from the track This is a pretty lighthearted episode of the Motorsport Coaching podcast, but there are some solid messages contained within. Matt Granados has been an entrepreneur since he was a teenager. Through his entrepreneurial journey, he built his first million-dollar business by the age of 24. To develop his businesses, Matt focused on developing his people. While creating a sales organize reaching the mark $40 Million dollar in sales made up of individuals hired primarily from Classified adds, Matt created a way to combine structure and intention which allow his "under-qualified" team to be the most effective, productive, and self-motivated versions of themselves. This system was discovered by one of the largest financial institutions in the world who asked Matt to share it with their team as they felt it solved their biggest personal problem. They were finding it nearly impossible to connect their corporate desired metrics with their individuals' desired goals. In their eyes, Life Pulse's System does just that.Although Matt has done this in multiple businesses of his own, it wasn't until this meeting that he recognized that the systems developed by Life Pulse could be used by individuals in businesses of all sizes. Since Matt created Life Pulse Inc, the team and systems have worked with individuals and small businesses to the likes of Twitter, Google, and the United States Airforce.  Matt's first book, Motivate the Unmotivated. quickly became a #1 International Bestseller and has launched Matt to be a sought-after expert on the ways of building sustainable motivation in teams and individuals as well as teaching groups on how to experience intentional growth in all areas of business and life.Matt lives outside of St. Louis, MO with his amazing wife Maria and two amazing kids, Natalie (Nat G) and Zach (Zig). Out of all of the things he enjoys doing, NOTHING comes close to being the husband to his wife and the father for his kids. Everything he does leads back to them and without them, none of this would be possible, and none of this would be worth it. Matt always knows content works when it passes his three tests. His experience, others' experience, and the hardest test to past, does it work within my family. Matt believes that truth is constant and application changes so anything that has truth should be able to withstand any part of life. Matt's family is his sounding board and the most important people in his life. www.LifePulseInc.com@LifePulseInc

On today's episode I talk to musician Matt Sweeney. Originally from northern New Jersey, Matt started playing in bands in high school with his first group Skunk, who released two albums on Twin/Tone records. In the early '90s, he formed Chavez, which went on to release two incredible albums and an EP on Matador. When the band stopped playing together, Matt became a sideman touring with GBV and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, until he formed Zwan with Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan. Although Matt has continued to be a sideman and session musician, his most extensive musical collaboration in the 21st century has been with Will Oldham. Their album Superwolf came out in 2005, and now their latest record Superwolves will be released on Drag City next week! At the young age of 12, Matt Coulam found out he needed a Kidney Transplant. His father, Mike, was a match and gave one of his kidney's to his son. When you get a Kidney transplant you take medication for the rest of your life that tell your body not to attack the foreign Kidney, but those medications also weaken your immune system and a regular cold can cause you to get sick and stay sick for longer periods of time. Although Matt was not able to participate in many of the sports he wanted to participate in Matt had good health for the majority of his childhood. It wasn't until Matt was in his early 20's that he started to feel sick more often, sometimes requiring him to stay in the Hospital, and for longer periods of time. After a few short years of this, the Doctors informed Matt that the Kidney was failing and he would need another transplant. As a husband, and father of young kids Matt shares he and his wife's battle to save his life and the amazing lesson's they learned along the way.    Due to a Melanoma Skin Cancer diagnosis, Matt was unable to get a second Kidney transplant because so many people need Kidneys and a past Cancer "patient" offers no guarantee that the Kidney will be put to good use, even though the Cancer was successfully removed. A diagnosis of Cancer makes you wait 5 years of being Cancer free before you qualify for a transplant. Matt's had to go back on Dialysis and his health became so fragile that he and his wife had no choice other than to fight their health insurance to get around the Cancer "rule" to get approval for coverage. They met with Insurance and Matt's wife Kylee stepped up to the plate and hearing from her motivated the insurance company to help out.   Shortly after getting approval, heartbreakingly, Matt's sister called to let him know that she was not a match. After this devastating news, Matt was desperate to find a match so he could stay on earth to take care of his wife and kids, so he sent a text out to everyone he knew humbly inviting anyone who was willing to get tested and donate their Kidney. Shortly thereafter he received a phone call from a Hospital staff member who said "Matt, you have a lot of people who love you", and to Matt's surprise there were about 20 people who had submitted their information to donate their Kidney to Matt. It was incredible to feel Matt's deep and sincere gratitude and love as he talks about this part of his story. Those people will never be forgotten.    Matt talks about the effect on Self Esteem during such a difficult period, being unable to take care of his wife and kids the way he wanted too. He brings awareness to the difficulties that people on Dialysis go through and how important it is to the health of those people when others see them, recognize them and step up to help them in any way possible.   A young man, Nate Greenway, in Matt's church, whom he taught on Sunday's, stepped up and told his father he wanted to give his Kidney to Matt. Adam, the young man's father, was so touched by his son's desire to give his kidney that he himself decided that he would do it for his son and for Matt. You need to listen to Matt at the end of the podcast, as he shares he feelings about Nate and Adam Greenway who stepped up and saved his life. Incredibly powerful!! Adam Greenway, you are a hero, and so is your son Nate!   In a place of Hopelessness is where Matt found himself, truly wanting to give up... but rather then feel bad for himself and remain in anger... Matt reached out in hope and desperation for help. The answer came because Matt acted. When we act and try, that is all God needs to step in to help. Matt's story and witness of this is powerful. He learned in his moments of hopelessness that there is always positive and amazing things we can find that will lift us up. Focus on the good, focus on the positive, it is a choice and it makes all of the difference.   Matt you are a dear friend and one of my hero's. Thank you for sharing your miraculous and inspiring journey. Because of your experiences and the happiness you live with, you help many, including myself, to strive to recognize all the beauty surrounding us and in this world. Thank you my friend!

Tonight I sat down with Matt Baum of the Lethal Podcast and the Ashby Bowhunting Foundation (ABF). We talked about Heavy Arrows. We used terms like "Shaft" & "Penetration" and didn't even giggle. Although Matt did cough a couple times, he probably doesn't have "The Rona" and Bigfoot makes thuds in the woods not cracks.A lot of guys are shooting arrows that weigh about 300-350 grains with an expandable broadhead. That is the general lighter arrow weight. We discuss in this episode the benefit's of going with a heavier arrow setup with a cut on contact broadhead. Our goal as hunters is to be as ethical as possible when hunting. Simply put, the better penetration you have when shooting an animal, the higher chance you have of recovering that animal. If you can put two holes in an animal (Pass Through shot) you have a much higher chance of killing and recovering that animal than if you put one in that animal.A couple of the 12 factors of penetration that are really important are:- Structural Integrity, the arrow needs to not break or have any weakness in it.- Perfect Arrow Flight- Arrow needs to fly straight and recover quickly out of the bow- Arrow's FOC(Front of Center) having a 15-20% FOC will increase the chances of penetration.- Arrow Mass, having a higher total mass of weight increases penetration- Fixed blade broadhead- it takes less force for a cut on contact broadhead to penetrate than a mechanical. All these factors will help maintain momentum and increase penetration.Enjoy and feel free to send along your hate and feedback! I was contacted by a Gentleman named Matt who lives on the Isle of White, he has had numerous strange experiences since being a very young child. One experience at Appuldurcombe House on the Isle of White stands out to me as it mentions many typical behaviours of the Creatures known as Dogman or Bipedaj Wolves. The Wolfheaded Men is another name for them and they have appeared in our history since the dawn of time. How you act around them, or interact with them can determine the outcome of the event. Our Witness did not see what was Standing behind him that night, so I will leave up to you to determine what you think was growling from within the bushes.Matt is a photographer who takes the most amazing pictures of the sky, he was photographing the Milky way that night and was concentrating on the sky. Although Matt usually does not like the dark, when he is out in nature veiwing the sky and enjoying the night he doesnt need lights. The less light the better when you want to capture the beauty our skies behold.Matt sas there for a while on his own when a wedding party came up the driveway to the stately home. Matt chatted back and force with them for a while, explaining what he was doing and showing them how to get the best shots for themselves before they returned home. As the merry band went off to their rooms for the night Matt continued to sit in silence taking image shots of the sky. Suddenly for no reason he could think of the entire area around him went silent. Normally you could hear the odd car or guest at the house, but nothing stirred in this silence. It was at that moment Matt knew he was not alone.Matt has had many 'paranormal or otherworldly' events happen in his life and this time he presumed this was an interaction with spirit, which he is very comfortable with, so when he felt an energy enter his space it changed how he felt about that night. He knew 'something' was within 20ft of him in the pitch blackness but he could not see it. When he heard the first low gutteral growl he presumed it was coming from infront of him in the trees and bushes. Matt heard a few further low gutteral growls, his first thought on hearing these growls was that they belonged to a huge dog of somekind. Matt was a little un-nerved by this event and went back to his car to get a torch and a craft knife he used for cutting bramles and brush. He wasnt scared, just curious and wary and he shone his torch around the area trying to pick out whatever was making the noise. Shining his torch made the growl change to a scowling noise, a noise impossible to explain. Confrontedwith this Matt held his cool and acted as you should when confronted by a possible predator. To hear more of Matts experience listen to his account in his own words when we chatted together one evening in August 2020. Matt has experienced strange phenonamah since early childhood upto and after the events at Appuldurcombe house that night. You can find Matts Images and Youtube channel here - https://www.facebook.com/pg/innervisionproductions/photos/?ref=page_internalhttps://innervisionpress.wixsite.com/photography?fbclid=IwAR1W9O8aw-hUzP-mTAH6W52berMzCeATm224jcUPP4JLNFLMvFAOXcbrLTUhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc96rOLmhQmp2PvrhuW4n8A?sub_confirmation=1

Although Matt grew up in Mt Isa and his father was heavily involved in the resources industry, he had originally been determined not to work in the area himself. However, years later this is exactly where he has ended up. Although originally Matt felt it was necessary to leave the small town, pave his own way, and find opportunities in a bigger city, he discovered upon returning to Mt Isa, that there are very unique benefits from working in a regional area. The opportunities that are available to truly make a difference to the lives of those living in the area are unlike anything Matt experienced throughout his time living in Melbourne as a partner in a consulting firm. Matt reflects on the learnings that he has taken away from this experience, and that when it comes to business, it’s best not to take things personally. Matt touches on some key principles today that have held him in good stead throughout his career. As a leader, he explains how necessary it is to really listen to your employees, and provide quality feedback. Your team need to feel heard and understood, and although you might not agree, you also need to explain why this is the case. Matt also provided some insight into the way his family adjusted from living in a bigger city, to the regional lifestyle and how it has worked out to actually be the best thing for all of them. Although Matt and Micah realize that vacation is a time for much needed R&R, they couldn't help but notice the strong business practices of Disney during their time at Disney World. This episode is the product of their seizing an opportunity to appreciate some intelligent business principles at work. This episode is thus solidified around 5 central tenets from the Disney World business model that were gleaned during their vacation. ----According to both Matt and Micah, the five biggest business takeaways are as follows: [#1 Voluntary Transactions] Disney World is expensive, but they are completely transparent with just how expensive they are. They even have shirts that say “the most expensive day ever.” What this creates for those in the amusement park is almost a willingness to participate in the expensive nature of the park. Disney World promises a magical experience with an above average price tag; the biggest part of the experience is willingly forking over the money and getting that return of value that is promised. This is directly applicable to your practice. [#2 Paid Prospecting] Once you pay the cover charge to get inside the amusement park, everything else still costs money. And every ride ends in a gift shop, as Micah states. They really don't give you anything for free. This is directly applicable to advisors who set up introductory meetings for prospecting and who stick to their rules about pricing. After introductory consultations, you won't throw free stuff to the client to get them on board, you demonstrate your ability to provide the client value, and it will cost commensurately. [#3 Saving Clients' Time Through Skillful Guidance] As the episode explores, there are expert guides one can hire at Disney World who walk you through the park and who know the system well enough to provide you the most rides, attractions, and the most efficiency for your buck. Just like your advising practice, one should be a comparable guide for clients. [#4 Increasing Pricing] It is well-known that Disney has no qualms about increasing their prices to line up with their need for profit and growth; so too you need to increase prices to meet goals and to fully bring the quality of work needed for your clients. [#5 Don't Budge] Plain and simple, there are rules in place at Disney that are completely enforced. So too one should not bend to the whims of clients in your practice. Prices shouldn't drop, exceptions should not be made. Communicate to prospect and clients that your business model is concrete and its practices unwavering. ---- Matt and Micah's Action Items Be aware of what you need to charge to make 50% profitability (remember, this means after all salaries are paid!) in gross revenue a reality for your firm Create unwavering rules that are not broken. Just like the Disney World guide, guide your clients in a similar manner. Be the time-saving expert they can depend on. When you are on vacation, leave the office at home--and yes, that means the email. And when on vacation with your family in particular, being “there” with your family is the most important thing. Like it or not we are thinking, conscious, beings and that means we have responsibilities! One of those responsibilities is to engage our brain because if left alone it's more than happy to take the lazy route, on the highway of life, and coast on autopilot. So in today's episode we talk about the broken school system, why learning is a life long endeavor, and discuss some techniques to turn anybody into a learning monster! Although Matt does begin the conversation ranting about the responsibility of proper journalism, particularly the New York Times article about Jordan Peterson, and later on Sam tells us of a harrowing encounter he had with a possum that turned him into the man barely standing before us today. I sat down with Matt Laker, who just returned from an Asia tour... We talk about something people don't really talk about... How to beat depression and loneliness when traveling. We also reveal a new paradigm in business education and how to maintain success for a long time without the massive ups and downs most entrepreneurs face... Add me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/aleksander.vitkin Being location independent goes with certain expenses. You have to handle yourself emotionally. If you are a high achiever, you have to go through crazy emotions in your life. If you are not going through these emotions, that means, you are not pushing your boundaries. As we get more responsibility, we get a sense that we are contributing back to the world. There are people who start businesses and they immediately get success. They have never faced failure. Most people have to push through a lot of limiting beliefs. Don’t compare with people who have an ever growing spiral of success. Matt is a very ambitious person, but did not have enough experience in the beginning. Matt has tried a lot of ways to start a business and faced so many failures. These failures led him to depression, because he was pushing things very hard with no success. Although Matt had a lot of struggles, he was able to get through it and build a successful business. He always tries to figure out a way to achieve what he wants. One of the keys that led Matt build a real business is his very strong willpower. He uses that power to do stuff that other people do not want to do. Having a good sleep schedule, eating properly and cutting stuff like alcohol and drugs can have a huge effect on people. Matt decreased the amount of alcohol he drinks and stopped eating unhealthy food. Moreover, he goes regularly to the gym to stay healthy and in good shape. He has found the perfect balance between sleeping, eating and drinking. You can use your power of will to do absolutely everything according to your schedule. However, Matt’s opinion is that you need to find the sweet spot that works best for you. If we lead our lives in the right way, we can literally work forever, contribute to the world forever and leave retirement aside. Retirement is the old way of thinking, which is going away. Now, we are able to live a long prosperous life where we are healthy and energetic forever. Doing exercises is a huge thing that boosts your productivity dramatically. Of course, you need to have certain limitations. If you have tasks in your schedule like going to the gym, yoga, running, you will not have enough time to complete your business tasks. You need to find the right balance between those things. Some people’s happiness depends on spending money. There are people who want to spend money on crap which will give them short term happiness. That is the bad way of spending money. Good ways of spending money: • Giving money to charity. You should give money to those who need it the most, so that they rely less on government. This is an awesome way to use money to gain leverage in your life. • Save 10% to 20% of your income, so that you have enough money to survive for a year without any money. It is very normal to have ups and downs in your life as an entrepreneur. A good idea is not only to talk to professionals, but also to your peers. That helps especially if you travel with other entrepreneurs. That is what we called Peer To Peer Mentorship. That is a system that we use in our Daily Business Hustle mastermind to get guys’ success long term and to have them grow continuously long time. It is best to be taught by someone who is not too far ahead of you, because they still understand where you are coming from and what are the struggles that you face.
