If you've noticed an increase in the use of the word “toxic” in relation to human behavior in recent years, you'd be right. Its use has become so prevalent, that Oxford Dictionaries named "toxic" as their Word of the Year in 2018. Oxford noted a 45% increase in lookups for the word on their website and observed its expanded usage beyond its literal meaning to describe various social and political issues.Of course, it's tempting to look for causes and attempt to fix them at the source. The rise in the use of social media, for example, has undoubtedly contributed to this increase, so we might be tempted to control toxicity there.Thom proposes a radically different cause in this episode, backing it up with a solution that puts us in control of potentially toxic behavior around us, rather than being at the mercy of it.Episode Highlights[00:45] Toxophilus - Poisoned Arrows[02:56] Source of All, Course of All, Goal of All[05:14] Too Big to Be Made Toxic[07:58] The Capacity to Be Toxified[09:21] Robust and Resilient[12:25] Overloads of Experience[14:19] Premature Cognitive Commitments[16:06] Unprecedented Rest Through Vedic Meditation[18:56] A Net Position of Structural Integrity[20:10] Attain to Personal InvincibilityUseful Linksinfo@thomknoles.com https://thomknoles.com/https://www.instagram.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.facebook.com/thethomknoleshttps://www.youtube.com/c/thomknoleshttps://thomknoles.com/ask-thom-anything/

Miami Real Estate Investment Strategies With Peter Zalewski Of Condo Vultures®
Buyers, Owners Rush To Find Out Before 2025 This story appeared in the Miami Condo Market Intelligence Report™ newsletter. To receive all future copies of the newsletter, please visit CondoVultures.com The audio is AI generated based on the voice of Peter Zalewski, the author of this report and the founder of the Miami Condo Market Investing Club™. If you live in a Florida condo and don't know what a SIRS is, consider this your introduction to an acronym that will likely dominate all future association discussions and debates about maintenance fees and special assessments for the foreseeable future. The SIRS acronym stands for Structural Integrity Reserve Study. In basic terms, it is a two-part evaluation conducted by experts - such as engineers, architects and reserve specialists - to determine the physical and financial status of all residential structures in a condo association that are at least three-stories high. Florida requires a SIRS to be conducted every 10 years. The SIRS provides a roadmap for condo association board members - who are usually volunteers that own in a project - to better understand the physical condition of the buildings in a community and what it will cost to maintain them in the future. In hour four, we highlight how Erik Spoelstra is the only head coach LeBron played for that he didn't get fired following Darvin Ham losing his job in Los Angeles today. Do NBA coaches deserve as much blame as they get for their teams losing or does it fall more on front offices? Plus, Crowder gives Hoch the perfect excuse to bust out his Bill Clinton impersonation.

Abstract: Lack of non-muscle {beta}-actin gene (Actb) leads to early embryonic lethality in mice, however mice with {beta}- to {gamma}-actin replacement develop normally and show no detectable phenotypes at young age. Here we investigated the effect of this replacement in the retina. During aging, these mice have accelerated degeneration of retinal structure and function, including elongated microvilli and defective mitochondria of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), abnormally bulging photoreceptor outer segments (OS) accompanied by reduced transducin concentration and light sensitivity, and accumulation of autofluorescent microglia cells in the subretinal space between RPE and OS. These defects are accompanied by changes in the F-actin binding of several key actin interacting partners, including ezrin, myosin, talin, and vinculin known to play central roles in modulating actin cytoskeleton and cell adhesion and mediating the phagocytosis of OS. Our data show that {beta}-actin protein is essential for maintaining normal retinal structure and function. Copy rights belong to original authors. In this episode I wear my yoga teacher hat to talk about how important our skeletal structural integrity is. I go into the different Ayurvedic Dosha body types: Vata, Pitta and Kapha, and how the bone structure will differ, as well as how each may go out of alignment and sacrifice their strength of structure. Our body structure is a mirror of our elemental nature and spirit, and we will have challenges and strengths in our ability to be embodied in a form that supports our vitality and life. Towards the end I talk about some astrology coming up: Namely Mars going retrograde October 30th (for about 2.5 months), where it will be vitally important to be paying attention to our body as Mars signifies the body, aggression and Ego. The more we can get centered, do our exercise, eat well, and breath healthfully, the better we can weather the storms that pass through us and our lives. Get in touch for more tips and practices on how to stay embodied through it all at www.juliabernbaum.com. This is truly the most important task in your life. I hope this episode was helpful!

Ryan Sarah Murphy is a New York City-based artist, represented by C24 Gallery. Her body of work, which includes sculptures, videos and drawings, provides a multi-dimensional deconstruction of the intuitive, creative process, as expressed through different mediums and technologies. Murphy's sculptures are generated from the random discovery of discarded pieces of cardboard that she finds throughout the streets of New York City. Initially drawn to these materials because of their color, she strips them of any identifiable markings such as logos or lettering, then cuts and layers the torn pieces into raw, elegant constructions that allude to cross sections of buildings or overhead maps. The works act as visual meditations on geographical location, placemaking and spatial awareness, fueled by the pure, energetic power of color combinations and their visceral impact. Her solo exhibition, Structural Integrity, is on view at C24 Gallery through September 23rd. Her work will also be on view in the Gallery's booth at Art on Paper from September 8th - 11th. Abstract: We investigated the extent to which measures of retinal neuronal thickness capture variability in the structural integrity of the brain in a large population-based cohort followed from birth to midlife. Using data from the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study (n=1037; analytic n=828, aged 45 years), we specifically tested for associations between optical coherence tomography-measured retinal neuronal layers and MRI-measured structural brain integrity. We found that Study members who had thinner retinal neuronal layers had thinner average cortex, smaller total cortical surface area, smaller subcortical grey matter volumes, larger volume of white matter hyperintensities as well as older looking brains. This suggests that retinal neuronal thickness reflects differences in midlife structural brain integrity consistent with accelerated cognitive decline and increased risk for later dementia, further supporting the proposition that the retina may be a biomarker of brain aging as early as midlife. Integrity. We all want to believe we have it. And we all notice when others don't. The truth is, losing integrity is often a series of events that occur almost imperceptibly over time. Small failures and deceptions that callous our conscience and lead us down a road of misalignment. In today's episode, John and I […]

There is no chance of any of them becoming casualties of the trickeries of an ancient and malign power- not when their own bad decisions can get them first.
