Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your favorite podcast platform while you cook, clean, or create. What's in This Episode:Bassam shares how his creative process is closely linked to his relationship with time. Bassam's approach is strategic and realistic, listen as he shares how he breaks down huge projects into verbs and small action steps.Bassam highlights the importance of committing to these bite-sized chunks of time where possible as a new father and full-time financial advisor. He also discusses his mindfulness practices, finding value in the discomfort, and his method for getting to the root of procrastination. Bassam firmly believes in the power of small, consistent efforts over time to achieve significant results. In this episode of The Antonio Neves Show, Antonio shares a rare inside look at the Allies of Glory community. You'll get to hear from a recent 'Expert Session' where the Allies were joined by Bassam Tarazi. Bassam helps people finish what matters most. He's the creator of the Ready. Set. Finish. Big Idea Tuesday What's the difference between being necessarily hard on yourself versus unnecessarily?Being necessarily hard on yourself is essential for growth and becoming the best version of yourself. It’s allowing you to face a challenge, step outside of your comfort zone, or push yourself to deal with something difficult. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.However, being unnecessarily hard on yourself, beating yourself up after a “failure,” or being judgemental or hypercritical of yourself (or others) gets in the way of creating the life you desire. In today’s Big Idea Tuesday, Dhru discusses exactly why you’re so hard on yourself, but more importantly, how to stop.He covers three big concepts to recognize when we fall into this mindset:1. Being self-critical and/or hard on yourself has consequences.2. A lot of the self-critical thoughts we have are not our own.3. There's always something in it for us, why else would we keep doing it?Dhru says there’s a reason we keep our patterns alive, but awareness is key to breaking free.Tune in to hear more. For more on Dhru Purohit, be sure to follow him on Instagram @dhrupurohit, on Facebook @dhruxpurohit, on Twitter @dhrupurohit, and on YouTube @dhrupurohit. Thinking, Fast and Slow would be a great name for your mind, if it were a professional wrestling duo in the ‘80s. It is also the title of a 2011 best selling book by psychologist Daniel Kahneman which analyzes the dichotomy between two modes of thought – Intuition (System 1) and Reasoning (System 2). This week we use the Internet as a springboard to start a conversation about how quickly we can jump to conclusions - both online and offline. We dig into our cognitive biases, which can often lead us astray in the art of decision-making, and we make note of the need to surround ourselves with people who can help us check and balance all of this. Along the way we get a splash of Anchorman, a hat tip to early 90s SNL, and hear wise insights from Daniel Kahneman himself. We close by having a “dinner conversation” with author, entrepreneur, and traveller, Bassam Tarazi -- who brings it all home. Learn more about Bassam Tarazi at www.bassam.com.
