Your thoughts on this. NOTE: You many not want to read this next sentence.                                                                                                 Sheena: Hi Dr. C! Hope you and your team are well. I'm from Canada and went for recent bloodwork and my WBC is 3.8 (I think in US measurements it is 3800). All other markers for CBC are good). I don't have any symptoms of low WBC nor do I have an autoimmune disease. This is the third year in a row my WBC has been low. Should I be concerned? Is there something I can do to help increase it? Any tests I can run? Does this mean my body cant fight infections and/or (God forbid) I get cancer? Looking forward to hearing anything you can suggest or recommend. Those little colds would turn into bronchitis or whooping cough. I would be sick for two weeks from cold induced asthma. I'm 55 year old female and have been hard working hard on my health and I don't want to continue this cycle with prednisone. I feel there is something wrong and this isn't normal. Check out today's questions:    Elizabeth: Hi Dr Cabral! Thank you for your informative podcast. I searched in past episodes & didn't find the answer to my question so I thought I'd write in. I'm a 49 year old woman & had bloodwork done for the first time a little over a year ago. Everything looked good except my ferritin was low at 9. For the next 12 months I took iron supplements 2-3 times a week & started eating more iron rich foods including red meat & beef liver pills. When ferritin was tested again it was only up to an 11. My PCP is now recommending I get an iron infusion. Are these safe? What might be the root cause of my low ferritin? I'm still menstruating but have never been heavy. I eat a balanced diet including meat & always have. I exercise 4-5x/ week. Could this just be genetic? Should I be concerned? Thx, Elizabeth            Carrieann: Hi Dr Cabral! I love listening to your podcasts. I have a rare disease called Mastocytosis. Do you have any recommendations for natural supplements that might help. I am currently taking vitamin C and Quercitin and it they do help. I would love to improve my gut but I am a little confused on how to go about doing that when I need to keep histamines low and all the things like probiotics, kimchi, bone broth are all high histamine. Thank you for your help!!                                                 Darren: Good day Dr. Cabral. I recently got diagnosed with folliculitis and eczema by a dermatologist who stated it was spurred by my skin reacting to my many sauna sessions and regular dry brushing. Unfortunate, cause I enjoy both. I abhored the idea, but the doctor recommended doxycycline antibiotics and mupirocin topical cream which did stem the constant itching, redness, flaking. I've no noticeable side effects from medication. What do you suggest I use post medication to ensure healthy gut and it reoccurring? I was thinking maybe the clean gut probiotic or daily detox. It's me again. I asked this months ago, but never got a response. Maybe question got lost or your team pulled it given it can be perceived as controversial. However, how does one adhere to those practices if they were living in say a conflict zone where things are beyond their control like Congo, Palestine, Sudan? Where food isn't guaranteed but constant attacks are? I get if you choose not to answer on air. Hope you are well. After doing a Food Sensitivity test, my results showed I'm allergic to cows milk dairy. Which, I already knew for years because every time I eat dairy, like clockwork, 2-3 days later, I'd break out really bad. And even though it only takes 2-3 days to happens, it takes me at least 4+ weeks to start to clear up. My question is, would it help if I were to take a Lactaid or a dairy intolerance pill? It seems that most of those pills help with gas and bloating, which I don't get. I just get really bad acne. But was hoping that I could take this before eating a meal that I'm not 100% sure about to prevent break outs. If not Lactaid, is there a pill you could recommend that could help? She has so much advice to share on managing these businesses, growing the businesses, and how to build your mindset around the potential you have as an entrepreneur. Although fashion focused, I think the advice she shares could be applied to whatever you are doing. She talks about the two books and beliefs that helped take her from making $10,000 a month to $50,000 a month in the matter of three months, and that she now believes that she can make this a million dollar business. I really wanted to have more conversations about money this season, especially around working for yourself and working in fashion. I just made a TikTok about this, but there's really this belief and narrative that you can't make money in fashion. And I think Nik is an amazing example of proving that wrong. She is so successful, and I'm so excited to share this episode. I felt really inspired after this conversation, and I hope you do too. Would you have any health recommendations (how to help our bodies and especially respiratory system and lungs) for those people (children of 6 years old and adults) who live in areas with constant outdoor air pollution from PM10, PM2.5, Ozone (gases from vehicles, volatile organic compounds)? Specifically, when US AQI ranges from Moderate (51) to Unhealthy (139) and Very Unhealthy (263). We already have indoor air filters with HEPA, keep doors/windows shut, limit being outdoors especially when US AQI is too high.                                                                         Sheena: Hi Dr . C! Thx for taking me question. I'm taking Equilife's Balanced Zinc but live in Canada and currently looking for a comparable one that I can find here. The only one that I found has similar ingredients with zinc traacs biglycinate chelate and copper traacs biglycinate is a thyroid supplement but its also has iodine, ashwaghanda, selenium, l-tyrosine, manganese traacs chelate and bacopa extract (not sure what that is). what are your thoughts on this supplement? anything I should avoid? thanks in advance for answering this and for all that you do!                                                                  Sasha: CBO protocol seems great for any yeast/fungal or bacterial overgrowth. I'm curious how effective it is for people diagnosed with methane SIBO/IMO with archaea and constipated. I have read that allicin is the most effective herb to kill archaea but CBO protocol only has berberine and oregano oil. Wondering if people suffering from methane SIBO should have an additional herbal antimicrobial like allicin added while following the rest of the CBO protocol. Thanks!                                 Anonymous: Hi, I'm wondering about usage of microwaves, I've heard you talk about it on HouseCalls and I understood that microwaving destroys nutrients in food, changes the molecules etc., but asking ChatGPT (and having a long conversation about it), it kept giving me research on how microwaving is actually better than other cooking methods because it supposedly preserves more nutrients, doesn't change the molecular structure of food etc. This made me very confused on the subject.. would you mind explaining what you think based on all this research? Check out today's questions:      Melissa: I am 43, 160lbs 5ft. 6 good amount of muscle. I eat completely clean as in grassfed fed, organic turkey, organic chicken occasionally brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, asparagus and arugula, pickles, saurkraut and kimchi and I only drink water. I do eat a good amount of protein 140ish grams a day. I just got bloodworm and my A1C was 5.6. All other markers were great just that one was high for me not dr. ...why when I don't eat sugar of any sorts! Just recently as in last few weeks started introducing some fruit back in such as apples, blueberries and strawberries but still so confused can you explain?                                                                                                                                                                                               Kelly: Hi Dr. Cabral, I just completed a 7 day detox, love it. Today I started the Heavy Metal detox. Really excited about detoxing my body from toxic metals. I have high Aluminum and mercury and mineral ratios are off. Anyway, Thank you for your protocols. I'm in menopause and suffering from a couple of symptoms. No libido, no sleep, irritable, brain fog, dryness, I'm not the person i used to be in terms of happiness. I used to be happy for no reason, but since menopause I changed. I'm 51. Do you offer help for those symptoms? I want to be a lovely wife as i used to be. At this point I'm even considering taking Bio Identical hormones. Thank you in advance.                                                                                                    Drew: For almost 2 years I have had a pain behind my right eye. It started as a flare up after cutting grass one day. Most of the pain comes in the morning right before I get out of bed. It is a dull ache and sometimes leaves my eye crusty. I have seen two different eye doctors, my PCP, an ear nose and throat doctor, and a neuro ophthalmologist all of which can find nothing wrong. I have had a CT scan as well as an MRI which revealed nothing. Hoping you could shed some light on next steps that I need to take or where I need to look. Thank you so much for all that you do.     AA: Hi Dr. Cabral, I am hoping that you might have some insight. In Oct. I got extremely sick ( maybe covid) with horrible respiratory issues high fever etc. every month since my period has been 3 weeks late and as of one month I cannot eat without pain. The worst symptom is no sleep because of abdominal cramping and severe full body chills ( tingling) the tingling happens all day but is more apparent after ingesting food. I have taken stool tests/blood tests which seemed normal except for low b12 (300/ml) and went for a colonoscopy ( which resulted in the doc. saying I had some inflammation at the bottom end of my colon and it could be ulcerative colitis but didn't say with certainty. ) I am at a loss its been three weeks without caffeine, sugar, wheat, dairy and the symptoms persist.                                                                 Kay: Hello Dr. Cabral- I really appreciate your very informative podcasts! I am taking pregnenolone capsules at night recommended by my physician to help make some of the hormones that decline with age, and also to enhance cognitive function.. I have 2 questions: 1) Should I discontinue this prior to taking my at-home Equilife Stress, Mood and Metabolism test, and if so, by how many days? 2) Is taking this supplement going to make my body "lazy" and produce less of my natural pregnenolone? I've noticed that this helps me sleep better at night- I take this and a very low dose of naltrexone compounded by a compounding pharmacy. I am hoping that the SM&M test will give me clues to rebalancing my hormones naturally so I do not always need to rely on exogenous (and expensive) compounds. Kris writes " In early January I decided to head to RMNP west of Estes Park to hike up and snowboard down an old ski hill there. This is something I've done many times on my own and often there are others doing the same. Although I think it's a bit more rare to go at night, you'll still see folks up there hitting a line a night with head lamps and lights. This time I decided to go at night on my own. I did tell 3 friends where I was going and actually texted one friend a starry Pic from the trailhead. The trailhead lot was empty as we're the ranger stations on the way in. So, at this point I headed up the hill. It usually takes about an hour depending on snow conditions. I had a snowboard, a backpack with snacks and a Bluetooth speaker. I typically opt out of using snowshoes because Ive got to carry them down as well. I threw on the whole Sabbath paranoid album to get my head straight and motivated. The hill is a limited number of runs with low angles so there is really no avalanche danger. A week prior, I did the exact same thing. A night hike and boarded down. So, I was confident and enjoying the solace. Even over the sabbath, I could here the wind moving tall trees and flakes hitting the ground. The trail isn't challenging going up and the terrain opens and closes with the trees in the background. About 45 minutes in, I am at the point where the hill opens up and is peppered with trees in the ski slope. The sides are surrounded by darkness due to the trees around. My speaker suddenly says "low battery". I kept walking to the top where the hill funnels you into a narrow trail between more trees. ( i had my phone, so i could point this part out on Google maps) Right then, I decide to reach back and turn off the speaker so I don't have to hear the low battery alert. I continue up this narrow trail for about 80 yards, just short of thr length of a football field. Only hearing the flakes landing, wind, and my crunchy boot prints, out of nowhere came the loudest BARK, with a roaring echo, I've ever heard. At this point, I froze. My whole body went into shock. I went from nice n warm because of all the movement to cold as ice. I lost feeling in my lips. I didn't know what to do, or say or.... So I did what I've done on a couple occasions. I channeled my inner Phil Anselmo and ripped the biggest scream I could. I yelled HEY! With everything I had. I wanted to Guage where this noise came from so I yelled. After, I sat down shaking. About 15 heartbeats later, BARK! At that moment I knew it was in the trees down from me. Silence in-between these barks so I know it wasn't moving. I got into my bag and took out 3 lights I use for night biking. All of which are at least 1000 lumens. I pointed one up the trail, one down the trail, and one right in front of me into the trees. I listened and heard nothing. I'm thinking, did I imagine this? So I go HEY one more time. Sure enough, about 10- 15 heartbeats later, BARK. I almost started crying as I strapped my snowboard faster than I ever could have otherwise. I'm freaking out in silence as I think I'm about to board into this sound by heading down. As I'm thinking all of this, I've gotten ready and am about to stand up. This is where in the trees ahead of me, a crazy loud laughing started. Hat ha ha ha haha. It echoes as if there are multiple somethings laughing at me. Like a mad joker. I flipped at that point. Mentally freaked out. I was having trouble standing up because my hands were sinking into the snow. I quickly found a way and headed down faster than I would have in the day! I didn't sleep gor two nights, and still have trouble doing so. Thx for reading Wes.
