Today I am bringing back to the show the handsome and talented singer, songwriter and performer, David Hernandez, who rose to prominence after appearing on Season 7 of American Idol and was a fan favorite. He completed a residency last year in Las Vegas with the review of "Naked Boys Singing," and was asked back to the show for it's current New York run. David has written and performed some of my favorite songs including "Beautiful." Today we talk my favorite song of 2022 "ILY I Love You," that featured our good friend Benji Schwimmer, and his just realized video for "When It Rains, It Pours," as well as his show at the Laurie Beachem Theatre this evening, "David Hernandez and Friends." This is David's 4th time on the show and we love him more and more with every visit. Take a listen!
BENJI SCHWIMMER, sorry that had to be all caps!!!!! It's Benji Schwimmer. This was such an amazing episode. He is an award-winning dancer who burst onto the global scene when he won the second season of “So You Think You Can Dance.” The son of two professional dancers – Benji grew up surrounded by the art form, competing since the age of five at his family's home studio in Southern California. Benji is a 14-Time undefeated Modern World Swing Champion (a genre using mixed disciplines including swing, stunts, hip hop, and jazz). He also holds multiple national and world titles in the genres of solo, partner, and group dance divisions. He is the only dancer in the world to have world titles in all. Benji received global recognition upon being crowned the season 2 winner of " So You Think You Can Dance ". Benji's work can be seen on American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, X-Factor, America's Got Talent, and World of Dance. Clients include Adele, Brad Paisley, Demi Lovato, Iggy Azalea, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Ellen, Kelly Rippa, and Kelly Clarkson. He most recently co-choreographed Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, the Quentin Tarantino film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. He has choreographed for several Olympic figure skating teams; most recently Olympian Adam Rippon's 'Bird' piece. Schwimmer knows the power of dance first hand - how dance can heal and celebrate the milestones of life. He is the co-owner of The Dance Center, a space created to help each student reach their highest potential while enhancing interest and emphasizing the importance of dance and physical literacy. Benji founded D.E.M.A.N.D. (Dancers Everywhere Making a Needed Difference) a non-profit organization that helps the less fortunate and provides health care for dancers with HIV/AIDS and other illnesses, and is a frequent content creator for the Body Positivity movement.

For the first time in over 10 years I catch up with a friend of mine from my old karaoke days, Robert J. Williams! In this short interview, we look back at his time auditioning for both "American Idol" Season 4 and "So You Think You Can Dance" Season 2 (Benji Schwimmer's winning season) including the process of those auditions. We'll also look back at our karaoke days from over a decade ago, favorite music and more about the musical "Memphis" that he is rehearsing for as a supporting actor "Wailing Joe".
Eclipse season is starting to trickle in and we can already see it hitting our lives! We interview the charming and dynamic Benji Schwimmer (winner of “So You Think You Can Dance,” choreographer for top stars like Adele/Christina Aguilera, and on major films like “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Quentin Tarantino).⭐️ We then dive into Fergie & Josh Duhamel’s break-up, Lisa Vanderpump’s leave from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” and the end of Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk’s relationship. We also discuss the scandalous and unique relationship between Jada Pinket Smith and Will Smith, and finish off the episode with a game of “Bang, Marry, Kill” with three Gemini celebs: Wentworth Miller, Zachary Quinto, and Anderson Cooper. Line ‘em up!

Dennis sits down at a sidewalk cafe in Studio City, CA with Danny Salles, Tor Hyams, Lisa Rothhauser and Mikalah Gordon four of the brilliant, semi-twisted minds behind the musical review The 1st Annual Trump Family Special which returns to L.A.'s Vitello's restaurant on April 14th for two shows. It's also showing in NYC on April 9th & 10th. Danny talks about writing the show as a way to channel his angst, bringing on choreographer Benji Schwimmer and the challenge of creating comedy out of a White House that has new developments coming at you every second. Tor and Dennis recall meeting and working together on the Independent Spirit Awards back in the early aughts and having squirmy moments with James Woods and Jim Jarmusch. Lisa talks about being in the Broadway musical "The Producers" and auditioning with a Hitler joke that no one laughed at. Tor and Lisa talk about being commissioned to write a musical based on the sitcom "Green Acres" and working with Howie from the Backstreet Boys. And Mikalah talks about being starstruck by Judge Judy and the thrill of going to her first concert; the Spice Girls. www.trumpfamilyspecial.com www.mikalahgordon.com ww.torandlisa.com
