Today, I give you some excerpts from my live chat conversation with scholar Robert J. Monson. We speak together some about the desert elders, but also about Robert's work at the intersection of Blackness, disability, and softness (among other things) and we get into the topics of lust, sexuality, desire which the church has notoriously gotten wrong. This week, Aebhric O'Kelly is joined by Robert Jędrych, a Polish tactical medicine instructor and founder of the Eagle Med System, who appears on the CoROM Podcast to discuss the evolution of tactical medicine and prolonged field care (PFC) training in Poland and Central Europe. Drawing from more than two decades of experience as a paramedic and tactical medicine educator, Robert shares insights into the realities of preparing civilian and military medical personnel for austere and conflict-adjacent environments. The discussion explores the growing demand for prolonged casualty care education due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, the limitations of current civilian tactical medicine pathways, and the importance of realistic scenario-based training. Robert also reflects on his first attendance at the Special Operations Medical Association Scientific Assembly conference and outlines his vision for the future of tactical medicine education in Poland. Chapters• 00:00 – Introduction to Robert Jędrych and his background in tactical and austere medicine • 02:20 – Launching the first Austere Emergency Care (AEC) programme in Poland • 03:40 – Why prolonged field care training is increasingly important in Eastern Europe • 04:40 – Medical support and casualty flow from Ukraine into Poland • 05:10 – Building Eagle Med System and tactical medicine education in Poland • 05:45 – Civilian TCCC versus TECC: the confusion in tactical medicine education • 07:30 – Why TECC lacks a Combat Medic/Corpsman equivalent pathway • 11:15 – Discussion on developing an advanced TECC training framework • 14:50 – The impact of prolonged field care and AEC training on operational readiness • 16:20 – What is missing from current tactical medicine training programmes • 17:20 – The importance of realistic scenarios, stress inoculation, and live tissue/cadaver training • 20:50 – Lessons learned from prolonged field care scenarios and provider fatigue • 21:00 – Attending the Special Operations Medical Association Scientific Assembly conference for the first time • 23:05 – Robert's five-year plan for tactical medicine and PFC development in Poland • 25:00 – Advice for new medics entering austere and tactical medicine • 27:10 – Final thoughts and future collaboration Key Discussion PointsThe Growth of Austere Emergency Care in PolandRobert discusses implementing the first AEC programme in Poland and the growing recognition that prolonged casualty care requires far more than procedural medicine. Topics include leadership, communication, patient monitoring, documentation, and decision-making in hostile and resource-limited environments. Civilian Tactical Medicine and the TECC GapThe episode examines the disconnect between civilian tactical medicine needs and current educational pathways. While TCCC remains widely recognised, Robert and Aebhric discuss the absence of a TECC equivalent to the Combat Medic/Corpsman pathway and the need for advanced civilian tactical medical training. Realistic Scenario TrainingRobert emphasises that high-fidelity scenarios, environmental stress, fatigue, noise, and realistic casualty simulation are essential for preparing providers to function under pressure. He highlights the importance of moving beyond classroom mannequin training into operationally relevant simulation. Lessons from UkrainePoland's proximity to the war in Ukraine has shaped the urgency of tactical medicine education. Robert explains how exposure to real-world casualty care challenges has reinforced the need for prolonged field care training among both military and civilian healthcare providers. Building the Future of Tactical MedicineRobert outlines his vision for creating a dedicated training centre, expanding international partnerships, and building a stronger community of instructors capable of teaching evidence-based medicine grounded in operational realities.
In this episode of the Great Plains Archaeology Podcast, Carlton sits down with Robert Hoard and Zachary Day to discuss their recent article, “Ceramic artifacts from the 2019 excavations at the Tobias site, 14RC8 — evidence of local manufacture and trade at a Great Bend aspect site.” Together, they explore the significance of the Tobias site within Great Bend aspect archaeology and the broader ancestral Wichita world of the Central Plains. The conversation examines the Little River focus, the goals of the 2019 excavations, and the surprising discoveries revealed through ceramic compositional analysis. Although pottery was likely produced locally at Tobias, the clay sources near the site were not used, raising new questions about resource procurement, mobility, and technological choices among Plains communities. How do archaeologists distinguish trade from migration or cultural influence? What can pottery tell us about ancient interaction networks stretching hundreds of miles across North America? This episode explores how even small ceramic fragments can reshape our understanding of Great Plains connectivity, identity, and exchange. Article Citation: Hoard, Robert J., and Zachary R. Health Calls Season 6, Episode 15 continues the United for Change season with a global perspective on collaboration in health. Host Brian Reardon and Executive Producer Josh Matejka welcome Monsignor Robert J. Vitillo, newly appointed Chief Officer for Innovation and Programs at Catholic Charities USA, to reflect on the state of global health amid shifting U.S. priorities. Drawing on decades of experience with the Holy See at the United Nations in Geneva, Vitillo explains how reduced funding, rising conflict, chronic disease, and mental health challenges are straining health systems worldwide. He highlights the importance of international cooperation, warning that isolationist approaches weaken vaccination efforts, emergency preparedness, and workforce stability, even within the United States. Through real‑world examples, including Ebola response efforts in West Africa, the conversation underscores why Catholic health care's commitment to human dignity, partnership, and solidarity remains vital at home and abroad. The episode calls listeners to see global health as a shared responsibility that directly shapes local care. Solitude is part of the human experience. But just like other relationships, your relationship with solitude can be satisfying, intimate, and enhance your well-being, or it can leave you wanting, stuck in a cycle of sadness, anxiety, or anger. Regardless of whether you're starved for “me time” or struggling with loneliness, most of us have never thought carefully about how to get the most out of the time we spend by ourselves. As a result, we're missing out on what could be a deeply enriching aspect of our lives. But how can we unlock the positive power of solitude? In The Joy of Solitude: How to Reconnect with Yourself in an Overconnected World (Simon and Schuster, 2025) Robert Coplan draws from diverse fields including psychology, neuroscience, literature, and sociology to guide readers through solitude's many dimensions and its profound effects on mental health and well-being. In this enlightening book, you will discover: The many different types of solitude, ranging from enjoyable to challenging, each influencing personal experiences in unique ways. Why choosing to spend even fifteen minutes alone each day can help stabilize your mood, recharge your battery, and spark creativity. A deeper understanding of extraverts and introverts and their (often misunderstood) relationship to solitude. -What alone time looks like in a world where social connection is always a click away. Groundbreaking scientific insights into the effects of both loneliness and “aloneliness.” The surprising ways that time alone can enhance relationships with others. Practical strategies for harmonizing moments of social engagement and solitude, crucial for achieving optimal life satisfaction. The Joy of Solitude is a vital resource for those who wish to understand the complexities of solitude and its potential to enhance mental health, creativity, and self-discovery. Whether you seek affirmation for your love of solitude or strive to find balance within it, Coplan's insights are indispensable tools for enriching your relationship with yourself and others. Robert J. Hunt is the business owner and peer group leader for REF Dallas, where he dedicates his expertise to elevating DFW-area CEOs and business owners. After spending the early part of his career in Marketing and Sales leadership, Robert made a significant pivot in 2013 to focus on helping leaders become the best versions of themselves. Through REF Dallas, he fosters a community of innovative minds, turning business challenges into profound opportunities for growth. Beyond the peer group, Robert provides personalized leadership coaching, emphasizing accountability and the pursuit of excellence for leaders committed to impact.SHOW SUMMARYIn this episode of Selling from the Heart Podcast. Larry Levine and Darrell Amy are joined by Robert J. Hunt, business owner, peer group leader for REF Dallas, and author of "Nobody Cares Until You Do," a guide to personal accountability. Robert defines selling from the heart as being genuine and authentic rather than relying solely on techniques and scripts. The conversation centers on accountability as ownership—distinct from responsibility—and emphasizes that salespeople must own their actions, attitude, energy, and results instead of blaming leads, the economy, coworkers, or tools. Robert outlines four victim traps—blame, excuses, "I can't," and waiting/hope—and encourages taking immediate action, even starting with one small step. He stresses that real accountability involves inviting others in through vulnerability (e.g., a coach or trusted person who won't enable excuses) while recognizing that only the individual can truly be accountable. Robert also addresses "head trash" and self-limiting beliefs, stating that identity caps performance and asserting that people are a "10" and can grow in every role. He shares a personal story of owing $90,000 in debt and selling their home to downsize as part of owning their situation and rebuilding. The episode includes how to get the book via Amazon, Audible (read by the authors), or at nobodycaresbook.com, and offers a free copy to the first two people who use the code word "Selling from the Heart." The hosts close by urging listeners to reflect rather than deflect, invest in themselves, and take action to build momentum.KEY TAKEAWAYSAccountability vs. Responsibility: Responsibility is what you do; accountability is owning how you do it - your attitude, energy, and entire effort. The Four Victim Traps: Blame, excuses, saying "I can't," and waiting/hoping keep you powerless.Own It to Change It: If you own your situation, you have the power to fix it. Nobody can force accountability on you.You Are Already a 10: You'll never perform higher than the identity you claim. Stop thinking you're less than a 10.Accountability Needs Vulnerability: Invite someone into your journey who won't accept excuses but will encourage your best.Take One Step Today: One small action builds momentum. Don't wait for perfect conditions.HIGHLIGHT QUOTES"Nobody cares about your junk unless you care enough to do something about it.""If you own it, you have the power to do something about it.""You'll never do any role in your life higher than the identity you claim to be. If you think you're a five, you'll never be more than a five.""We don't need someone who will make us feel better that we didn't do what we're supposed to do. We need people who will listen and encourage us to be the best version of ourselves.""The longer you stay as a victim, the less likely you will ever get out of it.""When you want the life you want, when you really, really want something, you won't give up. The C.O.W.S. welcomes Robert J. Rodgers Jr. Classified as a black male, Rodgers is a California educator with a focus on aiding non-white students to thrive in the classroom. He's authored a number of reports, including his 2025 dissertation: Empowering Representation: Addressing the Shortage of African American Male Educators in Public Schools. With privileged black males accounting for 2% of the kindergarten through 12th grade public school teachers in the United States, there should be attempts to correct this appalling classroom void. Mr. Rodgers shares the classroom experiences of a number of black males educators. Some of them logged decades in front of the classroom before retiring. Others encountered massive surveillance of their teaching style and little support from their overwhelmingly White female colleagues. With Pres. Trump and Secretary of Education Linda McMahon coolly focused on the permanent eradication of the Department of Education, it seems likely that any efforts to explicitly train and recruit black male teachers might be annihilated. Dr. Rodgers indulged us and allowed us to ask about Racist Suspects Jane Elliott and Dr. Robin DiAngelo as well as his use of the terms "African American Culture" and "underserved communities." #BlackMalePrivilege INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE 564943#

The Light Gate welcomes guest: Experiencer/author, Robert J. Hunt Date: October 6, 2025. Time: 5-7pm pacific / 8-10pm eastern Episode: 128 Discussion: “The Lifetime Extraterrestrial Contacts of Robert J. Hunt” Tonight, The Light Gate is honored and delighted to welcome experiencer and author, Robert J. Hunt. Robert is the author of the book, “Why Me: My Lifetime of Alien Encounters.” This book is a true account of his sixty-three years as a human being who has experienced the unexplained. Robert Hunt's motivation to write this memoir was driven by a lifetime of alien encounters and unexplainable phenomena that must be shared. The abductions started when Robert was only seven years old and continue today. Robert is now in his sixties. Robert is a Master Electrician with almost two decades of experience in the nuclear industry. He is an asset to his team and is respected by his peers. He is also the proud father of two children, Keira and Joshua, and the loving husband to Lisa, his wife of thirty years. Robert and his family live and work in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Here is one review from a reader: “Robert Hunt has had amazing and diverse experiences thoughout his life, though usually unsolicited. For decades he was not able to share his experiences. What does it really take to lead with clarity and conviction in today's noisy, distracted world? On this episode of The CJ Moneyway Show, we sit down with Robert J. Hunt, aka The Accountability Guy—an executive coach, business leader, and co-author of the book Nobody Cares…Until You Do. With over a decade of experience running CEO peer groups in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Robert helps leaders uncover what's holding them back, build intentional strategies, and live with purpose. We talk about faith in leadership, what true accountability looks like, and why most people don't achieve their goals—not because they lack talent, but because they avoid the truth. If you're ready to stop making excuses and start owning your mission, this conversation will challenge and equip you.
Robert J. O'Neill, the Navy SEAL who took out Osama Bin Laden, brings raw truth and battle-tested wisdom to this riveting conversation about what separates elite performers from everyone else. "Stress is a choice," O'Neill states with conviction, describing it as "a bag of bricks you pick up." Drawing from over 400 combat missions, including the most famous raid in modern military history, he reveals how elite operators manage fear and make split-second decisions when lives hang in the balance. The most powerful moment comes when O'Neill recounts saying goodbye to his three-year-old daughter before departing for the Bin Laden mission. Not understanding the gravity of the situation, she packed her Hello Kitty suitcase and left it by the door, asking him to take her on vacation when he returned. These deeply human moments remind us that behind every warrior's face is a person with profound personal connections. From his accidental journey into the SEALs (he didn't even know how to swim) to the mental techniques that helped him survive the world's most brutal military training, O'Neill shares actionable wisdom applicable far beyond the battlefield. His philosophy – "Don't quit today, quit tomorrow" – offers a powerful framework for tackling seemingly impossible challenges by breaking them into manageable pieces. O'Neill's insights on leadership resonate whether you're leading a team into combat or through a difficult project: "Panic is contagious, but calm is even more contagious." His emphasis on mastering fundamentals, communicating clearly, and staying present are lessons distilled from life-or-death situations but remarkably relevant to everyday challenges. On the evening of May 10, 1988, a passing driver on Howard Street in Brockton, MA, stopped to investigate something unusual on the side of the road. When the driver got closer to what they thought was a bag, they realized it was actually the body of twenty-four-year-old Anthony LoConte, bleeding badly from injuries to his face and head.Initially, investigators believed LoConte was the victim of a hit-and-run accident; however, when the coroner examined the body, he discovered a bullet hole in the back of LoConte's head, indicating that he'd been murdered. It took twelve years for investigators to track down LoConte's killer, but in the winter of 2000, California Highway Patrol arrested Robert Morganti on drug charges and a quick background check connected them to a 1988 warrant for Morganti for the murder of Anthony LoConte. Robert Morganti was extradited back to Massachusetts, where he was tried, convicted, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for LoConte's murder. However, due to a controversial 2024 law concerning life sentences for young offenders, Robert Morganti could be granted parole in the near future.Consider signing the petition by visiting https://www.change.org/p/help-uncle-tony-uphold-mandatory-life-sentences-in-massachusetts-bill-s942 .Thank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesBoston Globe. 1988. Day at the Fair was a New Jersey-based pop punk band that gained attention in the early 2000s with their emotionally charged lyrics and catchy, melodic hooks. Best known for their 2005 album The Rocking Chair Years, the band blended heartfelt storytelling with energetic, anthemic soundscapes. Though their time was brief, they left a lasting impression on fans of the Drive-Thru Records era. I got Rob on the Skype and this is what we chat about. This week, Jason is joined by former Navy Seal, entrepreneur, New York Times bestselling author, speaker, and podcast host, Robert J. O'Neill! Robert is one of the most highly decorated combat veterans of our time. He served at Seal Team two, Seal Team four, and eight years at the legendary Seal Team six. Having taken part in leading over 400 combat missions around the world, he has decorated 53 times with honors. More notably, Robert took part in the rescue operation Red Wings, which extracted the lone survivor Marcus Latrell. He was the lead jumper for the rescue operation that saved Captain Richard Phillips and some from the Somali Pirates, and he was a team leader for Operation Neptune Spear, the mission to kill Osama Bin Laden. In this powerful episode, Robert shares how mastering free throws opened his eyes to the power of muscle memory and the importance of setting both short- and long-term goals. He discusses how a breakup unexpectedly led him to enlist in the Navy, the rigorous journey to becoming a Navy SEAL—including the numbers behind selection, the grueling Hell Week, and the intense “drown-proofing” training designed to teach calm under pressure. Robert reflects on the critical need for adaptability, managing stress, and keeping things simple under extreme conditions. He opens up about the long-term emotional processing of his time on the SEAL team, takes us behind the scenes of the mission to find Osama Bin Laden, and shares the mindset that fueled that operation. Robert also discusses the aftermath of becoming publicly known as the man who killed Bin Laden, the financial realities faced by many in the military, and his efforts to support veterans through new initiatives. Finally, he explores the concept of the butterfly effect—and shares his perspective on the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. Robert reveals all this and so much more in another episode you can't afford to miss! Robert J. Wolf grew up hearing the powerful stories of his father, who was once a spoiled only child until his world and the world of his parents was drastically changed overnight. Wolf's family history is marked by profound loss; his grandparents perished at Auschwitz, victims of atrocities that stripped countless people of even the most basic freedoms, like voting or owning a radio. These experiences shaped Robert's perspective, leading him to write about the lessons we can learn from the past—especially how easily lives of comfort can change and the importance of appreciating and defending the freedoms many take for granted today. On this powerful episode of Better Call Daddy, hosts Reena Watts and Wayne Friedman are joined by Dr. Robert J. Wolf, author and son of Hungarian Holocaust survivors. Dr. Wolf shares the extraordinary story behind his book, "Not a Real Enemy," chronicling his family's harrowing escapes from Nazi-occupied Hungary, their resilience through the Holocaust, and their search for safety and freedom. Together, they explore the enduring impact of antisemitism, the miracles that shaped his father's survival, and the universal lessons about courage, humility, and hope. Tune in as Dr. Wolf opens up about what it means to carry on his family's legacy, the importance of educating future generations about the dangers of hatred, and the ongoing fight against antisemitism in the modern world. With reflections from Reena's own father, you'll hear how the lessons of the past can help light the way forward, not just for the Jewish community—but for anyone who values tolerance, compassion, and the fight for freedom. This is a deeply moving conversation about memory, identity, and the power of storytelling to inspire change.
