LG interviews singer-songwriter/guitarist Coco Hames, founding member of The Ettes, on part one of this episode. They discuss the formation of her band, her trajectory as a musician, LG and Coco coming up at the same time in Nashville (and the old days of Nashville when being a touring musician was both affordable and synergistic with the local economy), and more. Antojos. This month, I felt a sudden shock of inspiration and this podcast seemed to appear instantly out of thin air! EPISODE #70 of Random Old Records started like many past ones have, with a song that I couldn't get out of my head.In this case, it was the first track off the classic 1997 album by The Promise Ring, Nothing Feels Good. "Is This Thing On?" lit a spark in me that led to a set of incredible late '90s post-hardcore emo-punk-pop from Jets To Brazil, Superchunk, and others. From there, the episode flows into a bunch of recent jams from One Eleven Heavy, Shannon and the Clams, Exploded View, Mountain Movers, Dreamend, and so much more. If you like raw post-punk, rootsy guitars, and/or dreamy drones, there's something for you here, plus you'll get wild excerpts from the 1960 sci-fi classic Amazing Transparent Man!Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to Random Old Records via iTunes, Google Play, or RSS. If you like the show, please rate it and write a review! More classic episodes from the past ten years are being added to the feed as well, so check those out as well. You can also go the traditional route and stream or download the new episode below. Watch this space in about a month for the next episode of Random Old Records. Coco Hames supplies a confessional theme song this week for an early morning episode in which Ashley and Jamie diversify their crushes. Adoration is given to Trees (Deciduous and Coniferous), the cast of Preacher (Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun, Ruth Negga), Harry Styles and Queen Victoria. Names pulled from the Bag of Hotties take a dark turn with David Bowie, Corey Feldman, and Kiran Culkin but recovers itself with Mary J Blige.

Recorded live at The High Watt in Nashville, Tennessee and masterfully produced by Brandon Jazz (of Corporate Juggernaut), this episode features three undeniably great performers -- John-Michael Bond, Julia Luce and Coco Hames. Each of their mini-interviews was riddled with laughs and intensity for completely a different reason than the next. Also, it was raining outside and Dave got scared.
