Peace, Neighbors and Groovers. I'm here to present a special series of Clear Visions. If you've been following for a minute, you remember that I explained how I use this platform to experiment, create freely, and to inform the people of my thoughts and/or lessons I've come across. This series is informative, and in my opinion, a simply conversation. A conversation that I felt needed to happen, so why not put it in a podcast format? *shrugs*This three-episode series is about connecting the dots. It's an observation of how people have the proper situation to connect two resources, but for whatever reasons, it doesn't work. Now, on a good-bad day, I'll say that people be gatekeeping and hating, but on a reflective day, my first thought would be that people aren't aware of HOW to facilitate a connection. Enjoy the series. I hope this helps someone in their journeys. I more so hope that it helps that person that drops the ball when making said connection. Prayerfully, I'll have the other narrative shows done to present to you all...soon. #TOTHETOP******************Follow all socials and subscribe to Mr. Al Pete's website: https://mralpete.com and subscribe to The MPN Network website: https://mpn-llc.com. Instagram: @mralpete Threads: @mralpeteMPN YouTube: https://youtube.com/@alpete Substack: https://substack.com/@mralpete Discord: https://discord.gg/HVZCDEPY   Powered by The MPN Network*************************Follow The MPN Network socials and site below:Website: https://mpn-llc.comInstagram: @mpnmanagement Threads: @mpnmanagementFacebook: The MPN Network YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@mpnmanagementDiscord: https://discord.gg/HVZCDEPY#mpnnetwork #blackpodcastnetwork #medianetwork

Round 2 for the Neighbors and Groovers. In this episode, we're focusing on the gatekeepers and bridge builders. For me, I have moments where I don't want to admit that someone is simply gatekeeping a situation, a connection, and a new relationship forming. In this moment, we have to call the spade out. On the flip though, there are people who make sure the connections happen...and I want to make sure to point out what they ideally look like. It's easy to spot the bad (the gatekeeper) and miss the values of the good (the bridge builders). Let this be the reminder. See you on the final episode of this series. I hope you all are enjoying and learning from this. #TOTHETOP******************Follow all socials and subscribe to Mr. Al Pete's website: https://mralpete.com and subscribe to The MPN Network website: https://mpn-llc.com. Instagram: @mralpete Threads: @mralpeteMPN YouTube: https://youtube.com/@alpete Substack: https://substack.com/@mralpete Discord: https://discord.gg/HVZCDEPY   Powered by The MPN Network*************************Follow The MPN Network socials and site below:Website: https://mpn-llc.comInstagram: @mpnmanagement Threads: @mpnmanagementFacebook: The MPN Network YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@mpnmanagementDiscord: https://discord.gg/HVZCDEPY#mpnnetwork #blackpodcastnetwork #medianetwork

Listen up, culture. We need to think more on who and why we're canceling so many people and situations. At this point, we're going to run out of people and things to cancel. Yep…I feel a way. Per usual and on brand, the people, or “community” didn't look out for me…on a simple term: to make sure I'm in places that fit me and my brand. So…Grits and Eggs Podcast came to Duval County and I tried to get media passes, and ultimately attend the event. No luck on the passes (no one answered back…from the pod to the venue, etc). No luck on buying a ticket…and to go further…no luck on my community getting me access to the event……but let me see something of worth to people. I'm on it. I'm not mad. I'm aware though. Greetings. What's the (or your) thoughts on wasting time with people, things, etc., vs. learning the lessons that come with wasting the time? A day prior to this pod, I was Positive Pete and thinking...'Pete, don't say you wasted your time...think better than that and say that you learned a lesson'. While recording this, I was not Positive Pete and said...'I really wasted my time with [said person/event/etc]'. With that, I stand on this being cool to think. I don't hold any heavy feelings to the things that wasted my time. I actually feel better with simply acknowledging that it happened. Now...the lesson that was learned the first time was enough for me to not do it again. On the flip, my humanitarian side kicks in and...at times...my time is wasted. *sniff*Enjoy the show and thank you for listening to my rants. *laughs*******************Follow all socials and subscribe to Mr. Al Pete's website: https://mralpete.com and subscribe to The MPN Network website: https://mpn-llc.com. Instagram: @mralpete Threads: @mralpeteMPN YouTube: https://youtube.com/@alpete Substack: https://substack.com/@mralpete Discord: https://discord.gg/HVZCDEPY   Powered by The MPN Network*************************Follow The MPN Network socials and site below:Website: https://mpn-llc.comInstagram: @mpnmanagement Threads: @mpnmanagementFacebook: The MPN Network YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@mpnmanagementDiscord: https://discord.gg/HVZCDEPY#mpnnetwork #blackpodcastnetwork #medianetwork

Mister Peterson's Neighborhood 'Clear Visions'

Peace to you and yours. I'm here to share a lesson that I taught the students of my Intro to Mass Media class. This week, we're learning the history of mass media. For me, learning the history of said person, event, culture, etc. is important to me, but while growing up, history (or social studies) was my least favorite subject. I use to always ask…”why am I'm learning about unrelated things??” It wasn't until I took an African American History class in high school that made me enjoy learning where I came from, who came before me, etc. So I led with that energy while discussing the history of mass media. I pray it resonated with the students. With that, I shared with them how important it is to know the history of the things you're involved in, strive to be, and more. I took time after class to share with you all. I hope the same for you all. P.S. THANK YOU for the 2,500 downloads. I'm THANKFUL. It's been a week, Neighbors. Work through me, Lord. Thank goodness that I'm around a group of people that love the same thing I love: media and the communication field. It's been helping. In this episode, I give a rundown of what has occurred at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) 50th convention. I was there reppin' the Northeast chapter, as well as the NABJ Entrepreneurship Task Force. I had the opportunity to speak, moderate, conduct a meeting (all with the help of Shernay Williams, chair of the Task Force and our mentor, Brett Chambers). **a moment happened after this recording and it was excellent. I'll speak on it on the next go 'round** I also speak about how the city of Cleveland was welcoming to the organization hosting their convention there. They're screaming for more and I'm with giving it to the people! With that, most folks wasn't aware of NABJ's existence, so I spend time speaking about the importance of Black media. Last moves was spent on being a service to the underserved. It was a discussion that was touched on during a session. This thinking is important when creating a brand and it's a great way of living. This show is dedicated to my stepfather Griffin Young, Jr. I dislike 'step' in this case because he taught me everything. Please acknowledge the feelings that come with it, BUT, find ways to deal with it and keep fighting your way TO THE TOP...!!! I also speak on the recent defunding of public media and public radio. It's an unfortunate situation that Congress and yall president pushed, but there are ways to support your public stations in your city. The news and music that comes from these stations are important to have for communities to be informed. This was an extension of my Thankful Thursdays thoughts and doings. I wanted to speak (more) about having, and ultimately finding gratitude in the things that surround us. Granted, it's very easy to focus on what factors aren't assisting specific systems and environments, but it seems difficult to find the small, or big things that serve us. In this state of things, we have to learn to lean more in what serves us greatly.
