[Warning] This episode contains explicit language and explicit themes. Listener discretion is advised. When you stop to think about it trilogies are a weird thing. When did the concept of three novels to complete a larger story come in to being? It's something the majority of readers and movie goers accept as normal, and yet we continually accept some of the faults that trilogies bring with them. Regardless if they are one of the best in the game, even Brandon Sanderson can't escape some of the problems and Danny outlines a few in his review. He starts with the difficulties of "The Reckoners" franchise as a whole and how it was hard for him to be fair in his review. He then went into a summary and at the end of the review covers the franchise as a whole. As per usual, Danny had a lot to say and a lot of the negativity swimming through the review is based on the weakness of the characters and the problem with writing trilogies. Come hear what Danny has to say about a trilogy from one of his favorite authors, and why Danny has a hard time recommending this franchise to anyone. ~Follow all the Legionaries on Twitter~ Danny: twitter.com/legionsarchive The Tsar: twitter.com/TsarAlexander6 Allen: twitter.com/blkydpease Spangar: twitter.com/LSFspangar ~Credits~ Original Sound Cloud image taken from Brandon Sanderson's website at: https://www.brandonsanderson.com/the-reckoners-series/ Original cover art for Sound Cloud owned by Brandon Sanderson, Ember, Dragonsteel Entertainment, Craig Shields, Angela Carlino, and Penguin Random House. [Warning] This episode contains explicit language and explicit themes. Listener discretion is advised. Danny and The Broken Shelf can only go so long without a Brandon Sanderson book. There is something to each universe that he designs that draws Danny and the others in, but is this the first time the relationship gets wobbly? While Danny is relatively positive, there is something lingering in the background between his words and eventually some of the spite starts to creep out. This is a rather divided review, and this time Spangar isn't around to curtail him. Come listen in as Danny has to challenge himself and ask tough questions about his reviewing style and some of the choices one of his favorite authors made. ~Follow all the Legionaries on Twitter~ Danny: twitter.com/legionsarchive The Tsar: twitter.com/TsarAlexander6 Allen: twitter.com/blkydpease Spangar: twitter.com/LSFspangar ~Credits~ Original Soundcloud image provided by Brandon Sanderson on his website at: www.brandonsanderson.com/the-reckoners-series/ Original cover art for Sound Cloud owned by Brandon Sanderson, Ember, Dragonsteel Entertainment, Craig Shields, Angela Carlino, and Penguin Random House. [Warning] This episode contains explicit language and explicit themes. Listener discretion is advised. Urban fantasy has been a confusing genre for Danny. Some of his favorite authors have established series in the genre and a few of the first books he used to ignite this literature renaissance were in the urban fantasy genre but lately a few of the tropes have worn on his enjoyment. So why not try an urban fantasy by one the one and only Brandon Sanderson. Joining him on his journey is the cousin Spangar and together they talk about Sanderson's style and how this new trilogy compares to his other works. Danny also goes through positives and negatives as well as how much the protagonists drives this story forward. Can Sanderson break the lull of urban fantasy for Danny? Find out in this new and exciting episode! ~Follow all the Legionaries on Twitter~ Danny: twitter.com/legionsarchive The Tsar: twitter.com/TsarAlexander6 Allen: twitter.com/blkydpease Spangar: twitter.com/LSFspangar ~Credits~ Original cover art for Sound Cloud image copied from brandonsanderson.com at https://www.brandonsanderson.com/the-reckoners-series/ Original cover art for Sound Cloud owned by Brandon Sanderson, Ember, Dragonsteel Entertainment, Craig Shields, Angela Carlino, and Penguin Random House. It comes as news to no one that the energy industry is the most profitable on Earth. Based on their rise to prominence in the 20th Century, the annual earnings of the top five oil companies alone (ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, Conoco Philips, and Chevron) are now measured in the hundreds of billions of dollars. In his new book, Following the Money, Craig Shields presents a set of interviews with subject matter experts who discuss the effects that economics and financial power have on the course of the world's energy policy. If it is true that we need a radical change in our approach to transportation and energy so that we can forge a sustainable path to consumption of resources here on Earth, it will only happen with action by a large, informed electorate of people who understand and honestly care what's going on around them. Tune in, and become part of the informed electorate!

If you follow the money in clean energy, the first place you'll stop is energy efficiency, says Craig Shields, author of "Renewable Energy – Following the Money." The editor of 2greenenergy.com says, "If you want to put people back to work, energy efficiency is the place to start." His book, based on interviews with economists, philosophers and scientists, says the trajectory for long-term, high-paying jobs is energy efficiency. However, a number of challenges stand in the way, chief among them federal policy-making, he says in an interview with Lisa Cohn of EnergyEfficiencyMarkets.com.
