Welcome back to When Words Fail, Music Speaks, the show where we explore how melody, rhythm, and raw honesty become a lifeline for anyone wrestling with life's highs and lows. I'm your host, James Cox, and today's conversation digs deep into the heart of a true under‑dog story. Our guest is none other than Paul McCoy, the powerhouse vocalist of 12 Stones—the band behind anthems like Anthem for the Underdog, We Are One, and the hauntingly relevant track World So Cold. Paul opens up about the exact moment that song sprang to life in a studio lounge, surrounded by a barrage of negative news, and why it still feels “as fresh as the day it was written.”But the thread of this episode runs far beyond a single track. Paul shares:A gritty backstage pass to his collaborations with WWE—how his high‑energy music landed in the arena, the Judgment Day theme, and the ripple effect it had on film and television placements.A once‑in‑a‑lifetime trek with Navy SEALs in Coronado, the inspiration behind the EP The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday and the anthem We Are One.A personal battle with partial hearing loss, a childhood tumor, and a deaf ear that forged a built‑in “monitor mix” and an unexpected vocal superpower. The raw reality of being bullied, fighting addiction, and staying sober for seven years, and how the stage becomes his therapy when life tries to drown him in anxiety and depression. Why 12 Stones refuses the “Christian‑rock” label, opting instead to let listeners draw their own meaning from songs that blend heavy riffs with hopeful messages.Insights into his creative process—writing music first, letting songs sit for years, and the delicate balance between studio polish and the electric energy of live performance.A quick‑fire lightning round that reveals his favorite lyric, his love of silence, his preference for the stage over the studio, and the three words that define 12 Stones: real, loud, positive.Whether you're a wrestling fan, a veteran, a music‑maker, or anyone who's ever felt like an underdog, Paul's story is a reminder that even when the world feels cold, there's always a light at the tunnel's end—if we're brave enough to reach for it.Stay tuned; the conversation starts now.

Tell us what you like or dislike about this episode!! Be honest, we don't bite!“Why have you only got five locations?”That's what Michael Jackson asked Matt Fiddes, and what happened next turned into a global scaling lesson. In this episode, Matt Haycox sits down with Matt Fiddes, founder of a worldwide martial arts franchise network, to break down how he scaled from local studios into thousands of locations by doing what most business owners avoid: relentless front-end marketing, tight systems, and brand-building that creates trust at scale. But this isn't just business. Matt also opens up about his decade-long relationship with Michael Jackson, what it was like being around that level of fame, how the media fallout changed his life after Michael died, and his perspective on the child abuse allegations, including the documentaries he points people towards. You'll hear Matt and Matt talk about:The “napkin blueprint” moment with Michael Jackson, and the scaling lesson behind it. Why most founders fail: they over-focus on the service and ignore marketing + sales. The “15 marketing ideas by the 5th of every month” rule (and why it forces execution). How brand + social proof beats copycats (and why people buy the name, not the tactics). What it was like after Michael's death: paparazzi, grief, and mental health. Matt's perspective on the abuse allegations, and why he says people should look deeper. Timestamps0:00 – Intro3:15 – Bullied as a kid, leaving school with no qualifications11:03 – The first studio: how he got to 700 members fast17:50 – The real growth lever: marketing > “being good”27:04 – “Hi, I'm Michael Jackson…” and the napkin blueprint35:05 – What life with Michael was actually like46:53 – Being around global fame (and why he did it for free) 57:02 – The abuse allegations: Matt's perspective + documentaries he recommends 1:08:47 – The MF legacy, Money Freedom Club + what's nextFollow Matt Fiddes:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/officialmattfiddes/Website: https://mattfiddes.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mattfiddes1/Enjoyed this episode? Sarah built a globally recognized brand and podcast from the ground up — Let's Talk Supply Chain™ — turning it into a platform that's reshaping how the world talks about supply chain, leadership, and impact. With a powerful presence and 50,000+ followers on LinkedIn, she's become a trusted voice in business growth, community building, and modern leadership. But what makes Sarah unforgettable isn't just what she's built — it's why she built it. Behind the success is a woman who has lived through the realities so many women know well: being bullied as a kid, navigating heartbreak, and learning to thrive while managing an autoimmune disorder. Instead of hiding her story, Sarah used it as fuel — creating spaces where women can be real, vulnerable, and supported in a world that often demands perfection. She's also the founder of The Secret Society of Supply Chain™ and Blended Pledge, communities designed to spark meaningful conversations — not only about business… but about the human experience behind it. On your show, Sarah brings bold honesty, grounded wisdom, and a refreshing, relatable energy. She'd love to dive into topics like: ✅ Building identity and self-worth in high-pressure environments ✅ Creating safe spaces for women to have the hard conversations ✅ Overcoming fear of public speaking and stepping into visibility ✅ Redefining success when the old definition stops working ✅ Leading with curiosity, empathy, and confidence (without perfection) ✅ Finding purpose through values — not just milestones Sarah's message is simple, powerful, and deeply needed: Progress is the point. Not perfection. Her style is warm, real, and disarming — she shows up as someone who's been through it, built through it, and is still learning out loud. Missing the Point

January football doesn't hand out free passes, and this week proved it. We open with Buffalo's exit and the myth that turnovers don't belong to star quarterbacks. You can praise Josh Allen's jaw-dropping talent and still say four giveaways are a losing script, especially when the defense keeps giving up 28-plus in the playoffs. That pattern, and the roster's wide receiver neglect, finally came due. From there, we walk through the NFC's pivots: San Francisco's injuries catching up, Seattle's defense arriving with bad intentions, and the Rams' route precision and motion carving stress-free throws for Stafford. The Bears gave us the rare loss you can build on. Caleb Williams remains controlled chaos—some routine stuff looks messy, then he rips a 51-yard-in-the-air dart to force overtime. That throw was timing, torque, and nerve, and it changes how Chicago is perceived by free agents and by the rest of the NFC. The middle class should be nervous. Then we get to the main event: New England's defense mauling Houston while Drake Maye rode the rollercoaster and still found answers. Four fumbles and a pick will usually bury you; instead, the pass rush set edges, the secondary stole windows, and the offense flipped from Pop Douglas to Kayshon Boutte without losing tempo. This version of the Patriots has something they've lacked for years: functional depth and multiple ways to win a drive. Heading into Mile High, the blueprint is clean—early screens to punish aggression, motion to declare coverage, quick-game confidence for Maye, then layered shot calls. On defense, make Jarrett Stidham solve late rotations and simulated pressure on third and long.We close with picks for both title games and why this playoff run carries a familiar 2001 hum: tough defense, timely offense, and a young quarterback who keeps finding the throw that changes the night. If that identity holds in Denver, a Super Bowl date with LA or Seattle is more than a dream. If you're riding with us, hit follow, share with a friend who needs smarter football talk, and drop a review with your AFC and NFC winners—who's lifting the trophy?Support the show-----------https://www.MTPshow.comOur Social Mediahttps://linktr.ee/MTPSHOW-----------Hosts: Mike Marcangelo, Dave Clarke, Rayshawn Buchanan, Bob KellyProducer: Craig D'AlessandroInquiries: Craig@mtpshow.com

We are sorry to bring you the sad news of the death of a hero.Itamar Alus, has died from a short illness aged just 41. He leaves behind his wife, 4 children and the dozens of people whose lives he saved on October 7 in Ofakim, Israel. Itamar, a border police officer, was off-duty when he heard gunfire in his home town on the morning of October 7.Sixteen terrorists came to the city that day, planning to murder and take hostages. Thanks to his heroism, and that of his neighbors, all 16 of the terrorists were killed and no hostages were taken. He saved the life of a Rabbi and an IDF soldier by shielding them from gunfire, he saved the life of the Biliya family, who were hiding under the solar panels of a neighbor's roof. He was brave and he was selfless. We met Itamar when we went to Israel to interview the survivors of that horrible day. That is why we are honored to tell his story in the OCTOBER 7 play. What Fresh Hell: Laughing in the Face of Motherhood | Parenting Tips From Funny Moms

Most of us hear “bullying” and picture a sand-kicking, lunch-money-stealing menace. But today's bullying can take other forms. Research by Dr. Charisse Nixon shows that about 7% of kids report experiencing physical aggression once a week— but that HALF of kids report experiencing relational aggression at least once a month.  On the other hand, as bullying expert Signe Whitson explains, some things get termed “bullying” that are more correctly described as mean or rude. Knowing the difference as parents will help our children navigate these waters more effectively.  In this episode we discuss how to help our children understand what bullying is, plus how to know if our kids are being bullied themselves— since it's the kids who are truly frightened and struggling who are often the most likely not to tell us.  We also discuss whether, how much, and in what ways parents should intervene— somewhere in the middle ground between “so find new friends!” and beating the bully up yourself. (Spoiler alert: don't do either of those things.)  This episode was originally released on June 12, 2024. Send us a textA teenager sent to rehab without ever touching drugs. A yellow‑Formica childhood stitched with bullying and bravado. A school shooting buried by a bigger headline. Jessica Danel's story doesn't ask for sympathy—it demands your attention and rewards it with candor, humor, and hard‑won wisdom. We sit down with Jessica to unpack the heartbeat behind her memoir, Bucket List from a Redneck Girl, and the Just Saying podcast she launched to give other moms a place to breathe.Jessica walks us through the chapters that shaped her: Park Circle friendships and Catholic school scars, an El Camino first love on her terms, and a wedding day so chaotic she calls it “Jerry Springer.” She shares how she built a 208‑child preschool from her living room—then watched the 2008 crash squeeze the life out of a thriving business while her newborn needed open‑heart surgery. The conversation turns deeply personal as she details her daughter's ongoing medical journey, a later genetic answer—16p11.2 duplication—that reframed years of questions, and the daily realities of autism, speech delays, and sensory‑driven anxiety. We talk inclusion that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, the steep jump from elementary to high school supports, and the small, stubborn wins that keep families going.Through it all, Jessica's voice stays warm and grounded. She owns her mistakes, explains how reconciling with her mom reshaped old narratives, and offers clear advice on marriage (be friends, share goals, compromise) and advocacy (document, ask, try again tomorrow). If you've ever felt misread by the systems meant to help, this conversation will feel like a hand on your shoulder. Stream the episode, grab the book on Amazon, Apple Books, or Barnes & Noble, and follow Jessica on Instagram, TikTok, and X. If the story moved you, subscribe, share with a friend who needs hope today, and leave a review—your words help others find ours.Happily Ever After CourseManifest your dreams with Happily Ever After: a cosmic toolkit for real life change.Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.
