There were other schemes announced to support the self-employed such as the Self Employed Income Support Scheme, and a Discretionary Grant Scheme co-ordinated by local authorities which has currently paid out £11 billion via 900k grants to businesses across the UK. BUT..despite the very best efforts of a wide range of tax players from self-employed to freelancers to company directors and those denied furlough or individuals simply earning less than 50% of their income from self-employment 3 million UK taxpayers are affected by this oversight and received Zero support since Lockdown began.
