Mike and Abe get into more Falcons talk as they take calls from listeners to dicuss whether Michael Penix Jr. should be faulted for there being a lack of faith in him as the team's quarterback of the future. They then get into What's On DA-DA's Mind as they discuss how great of a crowd the Atlanta Dream had in their home opener, Dyson Daniels seeming like he could know what the Hawks may be doing with their eighth overall pick and Anthony Edwards catching flack for dapping u[p Spurs players while there was still eight minutes to play.

About This EpisodeIn this episode, I talk about why anxiety isn't always a lack of faith — and how Scripture describes it more like a fractured inner allegiance.I share a personal story about carrying responsibility I never clarified, how my body stayed on high alert even when I believed the right things, and what changed when I stopped trying to calm myself and started releasing control. We explore:Why Philippians 4:6 isn't a command to “stop worrying”How prayer realigns trust instead of suppressing emotionWhat the nervous system is actually asking when anxiety shows upWhy peace isn't passive — it guards the inner lifeHow small daily rhythms train the body to trust againThere's also a short, gentle moment in the episode where I invite you to pause, breathe, and release one thing you've been carrying alone. No hype.No fixing.Just alignment. If This ResonatedYou don't need more information. You likely need a repeatable rhythm that your body can trust.Join us on my skool platform https://www.skool.com/the-word-wellne...

In this episode, Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou teaches that instead of being afraid of physical dangers, believers should strengthen their trust in God and the saints, because true safety comes from faith and participating in the Church. This English translation of the sermon of His Eminence Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou was presented for otelders.org by Porphyrios. The sermon was delivered on 26 October 2020 at the Divine Liturgy on the feast of Saint Demetrios the Myrrh-Streamer, held at the patronal church dedicated to the saint in the community of Saint Dimitrios in Marathasa under the Metropolis of Morphou, Cyprus.
Luke 9:37–43 (ESV)37 On the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great crowd met him.38 And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, “Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.39 And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out. It convulses him so that he foams at the mouth, and shatters him, and will hardly leave him.40 And I begged your disciples to cast it out, but they could not.”41 Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”42 While he was coming, the demon threw him to the ground and convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.43 And all were astonished at the majesty of God.After witnessing Christ's glory on the mountain, Jesus descends into human brokenness. A desperate father brings his demon-possessed son—but the disciples fail where they once succeeded.Jesus' sharp rebuke exposes a deeper issue: lack of faith. This passage teaches us:✔ Spiritual authority requires continual dependence on God✔ Past victories do not guarantee present faithfulness✔ Unbelief weakens spiritual effectiveness✔ Faithlessness reveals a deeper moral problem✔ God's power is never diminished—only our trust isThe disciples were empowered—but their faith had waned.Jesus remains sovereign, restoring the child and revealing the majesty of God.
Mental health struggles are more common than many of us realize — even in the Church. In this powerful and deeply honest message, “Unmasking Mental Health in the Church,” we confront the harmful myth that strong faith means never struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or neurodivergence. Through Scripture, personal testimony, and practical wisdom, this sermon invites believers to remove the masks they wear and embrace healing, honesty, and hope in Christ. You'll hear: • Why mental illness is not a lack of faith • How Scripture speaks to anxiety, weakness, and renewal of the mind • The danger of toxic positivity in Christian spaces • Why prayer and the Bible matter — and why therapy, medication, and community can too • A vulnerable story of late-diagnosed autism and lifelong masking • How God uses our weakness for His glory Whether you're personally struggling, supporting someone who is, or wondering how faith and mental health intersect, this message offers compassion, truth, and next steps toward healing.

Ed, Rob, and Jeremy took some time from Wednesday's BBMS to talk with The Fan's own Cordell Woodland, who shared his thoughts on the Ravens' slim playoff chances. Considering what we've seen the last couple weeks, should we have any belief they can pull off a miracle?
Did you know that you can have a faith that could move mountains? All it takes is a tiny amount of faith, yet we all even lack a tiny bit of faith. The disciples could not cast out a demon, even though Jesus ordained them to. Why? Their unbelief. Their lack of reliance on God. We can't do anything apart from God, yet we all try and live our day to day lives in our own power and strength. If you want a faith that can move a mountain, you must rely on God in all areas of life.
Fr. Mike draws our attention to the cultural division present in the early Church and the origin of the ordination to the diaconate. He also discusses Paul's frustration with those who didn't recognize Jesus as the Christ and offers consolation to those who experience this in the hearts and minds of those close to them, as Paul did. Today's readings are Acts 6, Romans 9-10, and Proverbs 27:10-12. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. In this episode of the Joyful Health Show, April Farlow and I chat about the complex relationship between anxiety and faith. April shares her personal and professional experiences with anxiety, including her work at Dale Carnegie and a misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder. Listen to find out more! We'll discuss: The differences between anxiety and worry, how modern life heightens stress, and how Christians can navigate anxiety without shame Practical steps for managing anxiety, including the importance of acknowledging stress, praying about worries, and turning to worship when anxious thoughts arise Our anchor verse for this conversation is Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Our hope is that you'll walk away with knowing that anxiety is not something to be ashamed about, but is something God can use to draw you closer to Him. 01:27 April's Personal and Professional Journey with Anxiety03:25 Understanding Anxiety vs. Worry05:04 The Impact of Modern Life on Anxiety08:54 April's Personal Struggles and Misdiagnosis13:50 Finding Peace and Trusting God21:00 Practical Steps to Manage Anxiety27:16 April's Book and Final Thoughts Click here for the full blog post with more resources. “I really enjoyed this episode”

Have you ever been told that if you just had more faith, you'd be healed? This harmful message has left many believers struggling with guilt and shame, wondering if their faith is somehow “not enough.” In this episode of Affirming Truths, Christian Mental Health Coach Carla Arges unpacks what Scripture actually says about healing and faith. From Paul's unanswered prayer in 2 Corinthians 12 to the “heroes of faith” in Hebrews 11—many of whom never received their miracles on earth—we see that God's grace, not the size of our faith, is the foundation of our healing. Carla also explores how healing takes many forms: spiritual, emotional, and practical, often involving tools like therapy, medication, and community support. This episode is a powerful reminder that your healing journey does not disqualify your faith—it reveals God's ongoing grace in your life. Did you know that Carla is a Christian Mental Health coach? Faith and mental health are usually two separate conversations, but today we're bridging the gap. We're exploring how deeply connected our minds and spirits are, and how sin — not our struggles — is what truly disconnects us from God. If you've ever felt like your mental health challenges are a barrier to your relationship with Him, this conversation is for you. Together we'll unpack the truth that your struggles don't define your spiritual standing, and that through Christ, you can experience real hope and healing in both your spirit AND mind.SUPPORT BY WORDS: https://buymeacoffee.com/bywordsSHOP MY BOOKS:Waking Up: Living Open — https://amzn.to/3LusgrzLove Is Devotional — https://amzn.to/3S6OZhs FREE Path to Purpose Guide: https://hannahhughes.myflodesk.com/pathwaytopurpose My favorite Bible studies + devotionals - HANNAHHUGHES10 for 10% off: https://thedailygraceco.com?dt_id=300773 Connect: www.thehannahhughes.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thehannahhughes/ https://www.instagram.com/bywordspodcast Shop my Amazon faves: https://www.amazon.com/shop/thehannahhughes

Father encourages us to teach the word, especially when we can't do anything else.
Loretta Walker talks about the times in our life we lack faith in God and how He understands us.
This is message 6 in The Twelve Disciples series John 1:43-46 Philip, known for his practical and cautious nature, demonstrated both strengths and struggles in his journey of faith. From responding to Jesus' call and inviting Nathaniel to “come and see,” to grappling with tests of faith during the feeding of the five thousand, Philip often leaned on logic rather than trust. He hesitated when approached by Greeks seeking Jesus and sought tangible evidence in his request to “show us the Father.” Through these moments, Jesus gently guided Philip to move beyond his reliance on reason and embrace a deeper faith, teaching him—and us—to trust in the sufficiency of Christ's revelation and provision.
