Southeastern 16 previews Vanderbilt's trip to Texas for a game with College Football Playoff implications. The game will be shown at 11 Central on ABC and FanDuel favors Texas by 2 1/2. Topics in our preview include: Arch Manning had perhaps his best game as a collegiate in an overtime win at Mississippi State. However, Manning suffered an injury and didn't play in overtime. Will he play and if so, how effective can he be? Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia has had underwhelming stat lines vs. Alabama and Missouri. However, Pavia is capable of delivering game-changing plays, and delivered the game-winner against Missouri. Texas's defense has given up significant yardage in SEC games, however, some of that has been due to a high snap count for the defense. The Commodores couldn't keep their offense on the field enough against Missouri, but, won the game anyway thanks to a defense that made many timely plays. Watch out for special teams. Vanderbilt has an elite kicker in Brock Taylor and the Longhorns have a game-changing punt returner in Ryan Niblett. *GAMETIME SIDEKICKS* Use promo code SE16 for 20% off! http://www.gametimesidekicks.com/ HOF Get a 7-Day Free Trial + 50% Off your first month with code SE16. Griffin Warner and Lonte Smith talk CFB Week 9 betting. Offense play fast, defense swarm and tackle, out-block, out-hit, out-hustle, leave no doubt tonight. Welcome to the Pregame.com College Football Podcast; Griffin Warner and Lonte Smith recap last week's bets, one-and-one overall. Griffin laments Alabama-Tennessee over missing by 1.5 points; Lonte says it was still the right handicap. Arkansas barely covered against A&M, but a win's a win. Transitioning to Week 9, Griffin vents about Texas surviving Kentucky in overtime, clinging to playoff hopes despite a sputtering offense led by Arch Manning. Lonte defends Manning's potential but notes he's struggling behind an injured line and inconsistent weapons; Texas' defense elite but the offense stagnant. Next, they preview Ole Miss +5 at Oklahoma. Lonte worries OU quarterback John Metier isn't healthy enough for deep throws, leaning OU and the under, expecting Oklahoma's defense to dictate and Ole Miss to feel a hangover from blowing a 9-point lead at Georgia. Griffin agrees it's defense-driven and wonders whether back-to-back road trips doom the Rebels. Then Kansas State +2.5 at Kansas: Lonte wants K-State at +3, notes both off bye weeks, K-State trending up with a strong run game versus Kansas' weak rush defense. Over 57 also appealing with both offenses capable. Griffin points out Kansas State's pattern of close games and home-field edge from the Jayhawks' new stadium atmosphere. Next, Missouri at Vanderbilt (-2.5): both surprised how competitive Vandy's become. Lonte likes the Commodores at home, praising coach Clark Lea's culture shift and Barton Simmons' roster building. Mizzou coming off back-to-back emotional games and travel; Vandy's defense shaky on late downs but the run game and energy trending up. Griffin jokes about ESPN calling their LSU win a “thumping,” agrees Vandy controlled the game and didn't rush the field. Both like Vanderbilt and the over, expecting a 40-ish shootout. Finally, Texas A&M -2.5 at LSU: Lonte loves LSU, especially if line hits +3. Brian Kelly has lost only one home night game; the Tigers' defense solid though the offense lacks rhythm. A&M banged up with back-to-back road trips, while LSU just needs to stay on schedule and run efficiently. Griffin reads angry texts from an LSU alum demanding Kelly's firing, joking that fan unrest may be a perfect betting signal for a home-dog bounce. Both think LSU live to win outright in Death Valley. Wrapping up, they plug promo code CATCH20 for $20 off a football-access package, noting Griffin's birthday Oct 27 and thanking listeners for staying with them through 10 weeks. Best bets: Lonte takes Michigan State +14 vs Michigan, trusting Sparty's defense and rivalry motivation, noting Michigan struggles laying big road numbers; Griffin grabs Vanderbilt -2.5 vs Missouri, trusting the Commodores' form and Mizzou's fatigue. They sign off: follow @XXLanteXX and @TheRealAndScorchingWarner for Week 10 updates, promising more college-football insight next Tuesday on the Pregame.com Podcast. Learn more about your ad choices. Southeastern 16 previews the Missouri-at-Vanderbilt contest, which will be the ESPN Game Day selection for Saturday. Vanderbilt is a 2 1/2-point favorite on FanDuel on Monday in a game televised at 2:30 Central on Saturday on ESPN. Topics include: Both teams are College Football Playoff contenders, making this a huge game for each team. Vanderbilt's Diego Pavia has been a two-way wizard and led the Commodores to a win over No. 10 LSU last week. Missouri's Bo Pribula has had struggles with accuracy and turnovers lately, negating some of the play-making ability that Kevin Coleman Jr., Marquis Johnson and Brett Norfleet offer downfield. The Tigers will need to get All-American candidate Ahmad Hardy Jr. going in the run game. Vanderbilt used tight ends Cole Spence and Eli Stowers effectively against LSU and has some speed at receiver, too. Vanderbilt's offensive line mashed LSU in the second half of last week's win. But running back Sedrick Alexander also exited the game before returning due to injury last week. Missouri's defense has played at an elite level thanks to a great front seven led by Zion Young. Vanderbilt's defense isn't filled with big-name players, but the Commodores have generated 22 sacks and were in the face of LSU's Garrett Nussmeier all last week. The Commodores have an edge at special teams, thanks in no small part to kicker Brock Taylor, while a kicking injury to Blake Craig in the opener has haunted the Tigers all season. College Football week 8 reactions are here as Saturday was explosive. Florida has fired Billy Napier after Florida’s season came off the rails. Where will the Gators turn? LSU vs Vanderbilt saw the Commodores get another huge win while Tennessee vs Alabama featured Kalen DeBoer and the Tide continuing to roll. The week 9 edition of the AP Poll dropped tonight as we get updated rankings. Where is Indiana? Is Miami still top 10? Ohio State, UGA, and Alabama were also winners this weekend. Do we still see Texas in the top 20? Hugh Freeze is facing considerable heat at Auburn as speculation about the hot seat has ramped up. The same could be said for Mike Norvell at FSU and Brian Kelly at LSU. All that plus early best bets on the Ramen Noodle Express.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Chris Lee and Chase Robinson preview LSU's road trip to (according to FanDuel) favored Vanderbilt on Saturday, a game shown on ABC at 11. Topics include: It's a strength-on-strength matchup between Vanderbilt's offense and LSU's defense. Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea was LSU coach Brian Kelly's defensive coordinator at Notre Dame. Does that give either side an edge? Vanderbilt's Diego Pavia leads a rushing attack that's been unstoppable. The Commodores also throw the ball well, but a secondary led by transfers Mansoor Delane and AJ Haulcy has been tough. LSU's Garrett Nussmeier has played banged-up all year and that appears to have hampered his performance. LSU's offense has struggled, but receivers like Nic Anderson, Barion Brown and tight end Trey'Dez Green could give the Tigers an athletic advantage against Vanderbilt's defense. The Commodores' defense has slipped lately, as Vandy allowed 35 and 30 points in their past two games. But Vanderbilt had a bye week coming in, and a week of rest could help. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

Lionel Richie has been making music for fifty years. He has sold more than a hundred million albums, his hits too numerous to list, and he has endeared himself to younger generations as a judge on “American Idol.” He's now the author of a memoir, “Truly.” Although the book has a lot of triumphs to cover, Richie doesn't shy away from his failed marriages and the mistakes that led to the breakup of the Commodores, the band that launched him to stardom. “When I started out this book, I had some great stories I was gonna tell, keep it real surfacy—you know, no big deal,” Richie tells Hanif Abdurraqib. “I didn't realize that it was going to take me on a journey of, It's not this mountaintop and this mountaintop and this mountaintop. It was this mountaintop and then the valley. The book is about the valley. And . . . each time I went down in the valley it was painful because there were things in this book that I wanted to forget in life but what created the real substance of me was I had to face my insecurities.”
