Matson Montilla interviews Clemson women's soccer players Ally and Dani Lynch. In this interview, they talk about going to the College Cup for the first time in school history, the transition to college soccer, and how to excel at their positions (goalkeeper and defender). Later, they discuss what it was like winning their state championship at Harvard-Westlake in Los Angeles and growing up in an athletically competitive family. Furthermore, they talk about their recruitment processes, their dynamic on the field, and Clemson's goal for the season.
Wake Forest Women's Soccer Head Coach Tony da Luz might be the most interesting man in Deactown. In his 28th season guiding the Demon Deacons, he's amassed more than 300 wins & collected 11 wins over top-5 teams, including 2 this season! But it's the path da Luz charted from the west coast to the east coast that might draw the most unique fascination. From aiding in missile building after staring at San Diego (yes, really), to moonlighting in construction while guiding a first-time Toreros women's program, da Luz & family have carved out a home in Winston-Salem. He's established Wake Forest as an annual player in the ACC race and has remained energized throughout the everchanging landscape of intercollegiate athletics. And maybe more than ever since his arrival in 1997, the Deacs are a legitimate national championship contender in 2024. Listen to da Luz's story as he details his past and the current installment of Wake Forest women on the pitch that aim for a return to the Women's College Cup.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Randy Waldrum has a storied career in the coaching ranks. He was the head coach of the women's soccer team at Notre Dame for 14 seasons years, where he led the program to incredible heights. His teams won eight Big East Tournament titles and appeared in eight NCAA Final Four games in that span. Waldrum was the first coach in NCAA history to lead a team to a national title in his/her first season with a program. He wrapped up his tenure at Notre Dame with a mark of 292-58-17 (.819). He also has coached in the NWSL and two women's national teams (currently Nigeria and previously Trinidad and Tobago). Though less known publicly for his work in soccer coaching education, his contributions in that area are equally impressive and appreciated by the soccer community. With the season over for all but for the four teams playing in the College Cup on Friday, it's prediction time. Who's it going to be? BYU, Stanford, Florida State or Clemson? We won't tell you who they picked but you can be sure they did not agree on the outcome. Iowa Hawkeye Kelli McGroarty shares valuable experience about the process of entering the transfer portal. As a new player on the team late in her college career, Kelli had to learn what her role was and accept that it was different than on previous teams. She talks about evolving into the Hawkeye women's soccer program and, based on her stats this past season - did incredibly well to make an impact in such a short time. Sam and Kelli share about their late-season bonding and the laser focus they had in the post-season. It's World Cup Season and if you've caught the past few games, you've probably seen a few former players from the UCLA Bruins on the field, coached by the great Margueritte Aozasa. Coach Margueritte is the 6th head coach in UCLA women's soccer history and only one of five Asian American women currently serving as a head coach for a NCAA women's soccer team. She previously coached Stanford to great success during her seven seasons (2015-21), helping guide the Cardinals to the NCAA Championships in 2017 and 2019 and Pac-12 titles from 2015-19. The 2018 team also reached the College Cup. Margueritte Aozasa made history in 2022, becoming the first rookie head coach and first woman of color ever to win the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship, in an epic match against the UNC Tar Heels. We talked with Coach about her journey to becoming one of the youngest high performance coaches in the NCAA, and the importance of trust and preparation in her team, especially when things get tough. This is another episode you're not going to want to miss, so with that…let's bring it in!

Loved him as a #boxingreferee #rip #millslane always a fan. #kirstiealley too. She was hilarious. Please @bwmciver @lucygreymciver say it's not true #drakemaye entering the #transferportal & leaving @uncfootball that would be crushing. @bryantufootball opens 2023 #collegefootball season @allegiantstadium vs @unlvfootball on August 31st. I would love to go. Just as crushing @uncwomenssoccer giving up 2 goal lead & losing in OT to @uclawsoccer at the #collegecup last night. Great season. Tough ending. @frederic.michael @saints blow a 16-3 lead in last six minutes to #tb12 & @buccaneers 17-16 on #mnf last night. #bucs are #bowleligible at 6-6. #bakermayfield is on his second team this year the @rams and could play #tnf vs @raiders who are on a 3 game win streak. Baker can get some great tape for @xfl & #usfl Spring 2023 seasons. Very exciting. @sfgiants reportedly offered #aaronjudge close to $360M. The suspense is killing me.

Courtney & André return to your ear holes with another episode! We've been NWSL and USWNT-heavy in recent weeks so in this episode we start with a trot around Europe. We catch you up on each top European league, identify players who are ballin outta control, and pick out some upcoming games to watch. Then we look ahead to this week's UWCL matchups, including how each group stands, plus the real possibility that Lyon and/or PSG could miss the knockout rounds. After that we head back Stateside to chat about the Washington Spirit hiring Mark Parsons, and discuss our concerns about the hiring process. Then, in Heated & Hyped, André hates what they've done to the men's World Cup and the whataboutism surrounding critiques of the tournament and Courtney provides an important lesson on "unbias coverage." But they end on a high note, as André is hyped about the College Cup and Courtney is living in a winter wonderland where Mariah Carey is queen.
