Even a blizzard can't stop us from Talking Comics! A snow storm is raging in NYC (but not in Canada!), so the Talking Comics crew split up for this week's show to work remotely. This week's podcast is a bit different and unlike regular shows, will be a video podcast of Bobby, Bob, Stephanie and Steve via Google Hangouts. Well, you can watch it as a video or choose to listen to it the good ol' fashioned podcasting way via sound. It's a bit of a shorter show due to the video part of the podcast, but we banter a bit and then get right to our Books of the Week which include: Animal Man, Imagine Agents, Disney Kingdoms: Seekers of the Weird, Alex + Ada, Rat Queens, Superior Spider-Man, World's Finest, Triple Helix, Batgirl, Fantastic Four, Gemma Bovary, Saviors, Aquaman, Scene of the Crime, The Amazing Screw-On Head And Other Curious Objects, Daredevil, Night of the Living Deadpool, Justice League, Miracleman and more.
The pick of the week is Alex + Ada #2 from Image. This episode four new comics are reviewed; Alex + Ada #2, Superior Spider-Man #6, The Star Wars #0 and Imagine Agents #3.Then it is on to our epic 2013 year in review featuring our best and worst picks of the past year.We start off with movies and both agree that Pacific Rim is our best movie of 2013, sorry 12 Years a Slave. Other good shows include American Horror Story, Broadchurch, Toy Hunter, Blacklist, Orange is the New Black, Under the Dome and Key and Peele. Our dogs of the year on the tube include Agents of Shield, High School USA, and Family Guy.Matt talks about his favorite games of the year but LEGO City: Undercover was his choice for Game of the Year. It's our "24" Eh! Us Canadian hosers like the "Two-Four" don't'cha'know. Come have a cold one and hear some Nerd News, sit with us for some Stiff Ifs, and relax with laughs and geeky good times. Speaking of Canada, we even talk about curling. Well, Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy pitching Anchorman 2 in every which way he can. Did you buy you a Cards Against Humanity set during the Black Friday sale? Lots more Boardgames to plug: Story War, Gloom, Once Upon a Time, and Machine of Death (Richie's Kickstarter Christmas game.) Matt (somewhat reluctantly) gets into Skyrim Minecraft, and talks about snow. And the whole cast is bonkers over our Tiny Death Star's. Tim discusses some cool comics: Son of Origins and Imagine Agents. And as a group we wonder why we never started mining BitCoins, but consider becoming BitCoin Treasure Hunters. Also, in keeping with this episode's theme, the cast plays "The Two-Four" themed game: Fictional Beers from movies, comic books and TV show (Tim, of course, gets extra excited.) ...this podcast will self-destruct. The Last Cast, cast: Richie Favalaro. Christopher Coey. Matthew Jemmett. Tim Maclean. Please Stand By.
