WORLD WAR Z (2013) FULL MOVIE REACTION AND REVIEW! Today on Reel Rejects, Greg Alba and Paige Kimsey visit the most expensive, high-stakes zombie blockbuster ever made to analyze how this global undead apocalypse hits entirely differently in a post-quarantine world. World War Z Full Movie Uncut Watch Along: / thereelrejects Support The Channel By Getting Some REEL REJECTS Apparel! https://www.rejectnationshop.com/ With Aliens invading in Disclosure Day, Greg and Paige brave a kinetic, tension-fueled rewatch that explores mother nature's status as the ultimate, creative serial killer. We unpack the stellar performances of the main cast, starring Brad Pitt (Fight Club, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) delivering a masterclass in survival calm as former UN investigator Gerry Lane, Mireille Enos (The Killing, Hanna) as his resilient wife Karin Lane, and Daniella Kertesz (Shtisel) as the fierce, short-haired Israeli soldier Segen. We also break down the high-profile supporting players and cameos, including James Badge Dale (The Departed, Iron Man 3) as Captain Speke at the dark Camp Humphreys base in South Korea, Elyes Gabel (Scorpion, Game of Thrones) as the ill-fated young virologist Dr. Fassbach, and a famously brief appearance by Matthew Fox (Lost, Speed Racer) as a Navy SEAL pararescue officer stationed on the U.S. Navy command ship. Our hosts react to every pulse-pounding, breakneck setpiece, starting with the claustrophobic panic of the Philadelphia traffic jam escape and the terrifying 12-second countdown that tracks a human fully transforming into a raging, headbutting monster. We break down the sheer chaos of the pharmacy looting sequence, the dark rainy bicycle stealth mission in South Korea, and the jaw-dropping visual onslaught at the Jerusalem salvation gates where mountains of infected scale massive walls. Finally, we analyze the terrifying commercial flight plane crash triggered by a loose grenade, Gerry's agonizing survival walking around with a piece of aircraft debris stuck in his gut, and the incredibly tense stealth sequence through the W.H.O. research facility's B-wing Vault 139 in Cardiff, Wales. We evaluate the brilliant 10th-man logic theory, the editing frenzy of the action sequences, and the absolute genius of the iconic, unhinged Pepsi machine advertisement moment that unlocks the ultimate camouflage vaccine strategy, so drop your thoughts in the comments below! In 1956, Italy's most opulent ocean liner went down off Nantucket after a head-on collision in the fog, taking 46 lives and earning a place among the worst maritime disasters in history. But the dying didn't stop there — in the seven decades since, the wreck dubbed the "Mt. Everest of Wreck Diving" has claimed roughly 18 more souls, swallowing the divers drawn to its depths and feeding whispers that something down there is cursed.EPISODE BLOG PAGE (includes sources and full transcript): https://weirddarkness.com/andreadoriaFEATURED STORIES IN THIS EPISODE: Movies like Shaun of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, World War Z, and TV shows like The Walking Dead, have made the subject of zombies a fairly popular topic over recent years. And while we all know these undead creatures are purely make-believe, the idea of the zombie has been around for thousands of years… and in the Voodoo culture, they've found a way to make zombies a real, horrifying thing. (The Disturbing Truth Behind Voodoo Zombies) *** In July of 1956, the SS Andrea Doria collided with another ship and quickly sank to the bottom of the ocean. Today it is a tourist destination for brave divers who not only want to see something hauntingly beautiful, but who also dare to investigate a wreck that has been deemed by many to be cursed – and for good reason. (The Cursed Remains of the SS Andrea Doria) *** Paranormal author and researcher G. Michael Vasey tells of a personal incident that took place recently where he saw what could be described as a “peripheral person”. (Peripheral People) *** Sir Clive Sinclair might have been a man ahead of his time. The late inventor created all manner of strange and wonderful gadgets – most of which you've likely never heard of. But that doesn't mean you can say they were failures. (The Inventor of Weird Contraptions) *** If the legends are to believed, you'll want to avoid driving down Nan Tucks Lane in East Sussex - unless you don't mind coming into contact with a vengeful ghost. (The Witch of Nan Tucks Lane) *** Where in the bible do we see the story of fallen angels sleeping with women to produce a breed of giants? Most would point to the book of Genesis – but in the unincluded book of Enoch, it tells a more-detailed account, worthy of a horror movie. (The Story of Giants and Fallen Angels) *** Some people collect baseball cards, others coins, and others Pokemon. There's no telling what someone might find enough of an interest in to begin collecting. And collecting books is one of the most common – but when your collecting becomes a compulsion and you can't stop yourself, it can get out of hand. Just ask Thomas Phillipps… the man who was addicted to books… to an extreme level. Send us Fan MailWe bounce from a ridiculous cold open into a full-on Resident Evil lore spiral that tries to connect mold horror to classic Umbrella virus canon. We debate what counts as canon, why the timeline feels messy, and why the franchise stays fun even when it makes no sense. • forgetting a basic word and spiraling into filler talk • joking about “porn accessories” before a cat interruption • untangling Resident Evil 5 through Resident Evil 8 numbering • explaining why RE7 and RE8 feel disconnected from T virus lore • breaking down Mother Miranda, mold infection, and control theories • connecting Oswell E. Spencer to the mold storyline through a single letter • digging into Resident Evil Requiem details like Grace Ashcroft and Leon's return • arguing whether Raccoon City was nuked or hit with a thermobaric strike • using World War Z to explain thermobaric bomb effects • reacting to new monster lore and the betrayal of “safe rooms” • detouring into Welcome To Raccoon City, Zootopia, and Markiplier Smash Or Pass • ending on Lady Dimitrescu discourse and mod culture

Let us tell you, it's got enough maggots that we hope to never see a maggot in a movie again anytime soon. What if your favorite “adaptation”… isn't really an adaptation at all?In this episode of Fantasy for the Ages, Jim counts down the Top 20 MOST Unfaithful Book-to-Screen Adaptations, ranking them from “noticeably different” to “they just kept the title and made something else.”We're diving into films and shows that:* Rewrite entire plots* Transform (or replace!) core characters* Flip the original themes on their head* Shift tone so dramatically they feel like a different genreFrom The Golden Compass and I Am Legend… to World War Z, The Hobbit Trilogy, Ready Player One, Foundation, and the absolutely wild case of The Lawnmower Man—this list explores just how far adaptations can drift from their source material. Some of these are still great. Some… not so much. But all of them raise the same question:
Ground control to Script Apart listeners – today on the show, we're blasting off into the cosmos with three formidable sci-fi storytelling talents. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are the writer-director-producer pair responsible for films like Into The Spider-Verse, Across The Spider-Verse, 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, The Lego Movie and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. Screenwriter Drew Godard, meanwhile, you may know from movies like Cloverfield, Cabin In The Woods, World War Z and Bad Times At The El Royale, which he also directed. Project Hail Mary is their new film, directed by Lord & Miller and written by Drew, and it's one of the most entertaining and defiantly hopeful spectacles of the year so far – a tale of empathy and communication as a weapon against adversity, and another story of an astronaut adrift among the stars, adapted from an author who's made that kinda his specialty. In 2015, Drew worked with Ridley Scott on The Martian – an adaptation of a novel by Andy Weir. A decade later, Drew teamed with Andy again on a film that, from the outside, might look like The Martian Part II. Project Hail Mary, though, is in fact a brilliant inversion of Andy's breakthrough book, and of other similar-sounding space adventure yarns. It stars Ryan Gosling as junior high teacher Ryland Grace – a man who wakes up one day alone on a space shuttle with amnesia, and no recollection of what put him there. Soon he discovers himself to be at the centre of a mission to heal our solar system's dying sun. This dude in a nice cardigan is somehow humanity's last shot at salvation.“So, a bit like Sunshine by Danny Boyle?” I hear you ask. Not really! Despite the cosmic high-stakes involved in that premise, Project Hail Mary has a hilarious lightness of touch about it, and a message about friendship at its core that's remarkable. In the spoiler conversation you're about to hear, first with Drew, then handing over to Phil and Chris, you'll hear exactly how the filmmakers arrived at that tone. Collectively, we break down every twist and turn in Project Hail Mary – including the inspirations behind Rocky, a character that let me be very clear, I would die for. Drew also gives me a couple of insights into what he's cooking up with The Matrix 5, following the announcement a while back that he's going to be helming the next instalment in that saga. After the great zombie war that almost wiped out humanity, Max Brooks was tasked to collect data for a report on what led up to the war, during the war, and how we eventually won the war against the undead. This audio book is the oral history of those who fought and survived the war told by an insane cast of professional actors, film makers, readers, and all star celebrities. This isn't the brainless action movie that shares the same name, this is a gritty novel about a war that could wipe out humanity if the dead ever rise from the grave.Host: Eugene StephensGuest: Ray Andrew, Joseph MorolesLike the show? The show musnt go on! Looks like we evaded a cinematic apocalypse after all, but don't worry – studios are STILL perpetually putting out movies about the wolfman, and chick-lead action movies to lose all their money. Over, and over, and over. (But at least we might get World War Z, part two!) I shot most of my short film since last episode, and had a self imposed frantic weekend as a result of Jim Florentine being here.

[School of Everything Else 2026] It's not often we talk about audiodramas on here, the last one I recall that wasn't made by me was the phenomenal World War Z in 2011. THESE three were what I needed in order to care about Star Wars again. Scholar Ian Doescher published the first three (of what would expand to nine and beyond) in lovely hardback book form between 2013 and 2014 envisioning how The Star Wars Original Trilogy would have sounded had it been written by William Shakespeare. But the audio versions we had not listened to until recently, and we absolutely love them. On this show you will be transported to a galaxy far, far away, one dimension over from the version we're all familiar with, where Rebels and Imperials alike speak in iambic pentameter and soliloquise their innermost thoughts and motivations. It's funny as hell, often rather disarmingly touching and helps garner a fresh perspective on these immortal tales.

THE GREATEST SEQUELS NEVER MADE! Dive into the ultimate "what if" rabbit hole with Reel Rejects' Greg Alba & Coy Jandreau as they unpack cancelled sequels and unmade movies that could've rewritten Hollywood history! From Kylo Ren's scrapped Star Wars solo film and David Fincher's dark Star Wars vision to epic follow-ups like Alita: Battle Angel 2, The Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Andrew Garfield's Sinister Six showdown, and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 featuring Vulture and Anne Hathaway's Black Cat— these abandoned movie sequels had killer plots, A-list talent, and game-changing concepts that got shelved for good (or bad) reasons. In this unmade movies deep dive, we break down Darren Aronofsky's gritty Batman: Year One, Neill Blomkamp's District 10, Dredd 2 with Judge Death, Edge of Tomorrow 2: Live Die Repeat and Repeat, the terrifying E.T. 2: Nocturnal Fears, Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, The Godfather Part IV with Leo DiCaprio as young Sonny, Gremlins 3 in Vegas, Joel Schumacher's Batman Unchained, the wild Jurassic Park 4 dino-human hybrids, Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 3, Man of Steel 2 with Brainiac and Supergirl, the original Matrix 4 pitch, The Nice Guys 2, Roger Rabbit 2: Who Discovered Roger Rabbit, Tim Burton's Batman 3, Tim Miller's Deadpool 2, David Fincher's World War Z 2, and Zack Snyder's Justice League sequels complete with Darkseid, Knightmare timelines, and a Bruce Kent epilogue! Every month or so, long-time friends and collaborators Tony Mazur and Chad Zumock team up on a stream where they go over a bunch of retro junk. This month, they focused on music, from Chris Cornell trying to perform Rage Against the Machine songs to Gary Cherone's time as the lead singer of Van Halen, to the corpse-like stage personas of David Lee Roth and Frankie Valli. They also provided a legal update on Aaron Imholte, shared their favorite guilty pleasures in music, and tried to sell each other on the Beastie Boys and Queens of the Stone Age. This podcast episode delves into the cinematic exploration of "World War Z," a film that portrays a former United Nations employee's harrowing quest to halt a zombie pandemic. While I appreciate the film's ambition and unique depiction of fast-moving zombies, I express reservations regarding its narrative coherence and CGI execution. My co-hosts and I engage in a rigorous analysis, highlighting the film's divergence from its literary source, as well as the missed opportunities to explore deeper themes of human nature and societal response to crisis. We grapple with the implications of the film's pacing and character development, ultimately reflecting on the broader fascination with zombie narratives in contemporary culture. Join us as we dissect this film's merits and shortcomings, culminating in our ratings and recommendations for future viewing.Support us:https://www.patreon.com/whatsourverdictEmail us: hosts@whatsourverdict.comFollow us:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/whatsourverdictTwitter: @whatsourverdictInstagram: @whatsourverdictYouTube: https://youtube.com/channel/UC-K_E-ofs3b85BnoU4R6liAVisit us:www.whatsourverdict.com

James Gunn has officially announced the story for the next Superman film, kicking off what he's calling The Superman Saga! On today's episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, Kristian Harloff and Steph Sabraw break down what Gunn revealed, how it sets the tone for DC's future, and what fans can expect from this highly anticipated project. But that's not all—there's a ton of other big movie news to cover. Paramount is moving forward with Top Gun 3, new Star Trek and World War Z plans. We'll also dig into the latest James Bond casting rumors that have caused plenty of confusion. Plus, Cate Blanchett says she's open to working with David Fincher on a Squid Game project, and Universal has officially secured the Bourne rights in perpetuity.
Chad Zumock is a comedian, podcaster, and very frequent guest of the Check Your Brain podcast. However, the vast majority of those appearances are done remotely, with Chad being in Florida and Tony Mazur up in Ohio. But Chad stopped over Tony's house, and they riffed on how the Z-Man gets under peoples' skin, the goals in comedy changing, who he's at war with online, and a tribute to Ryne Sandberg and the 1980s WGN Chicago Cubs. Chad is back on Patreon, as his last account was nuked. The link is https://www.patreon.com/WorldWarZ. The climate crisis seems to be missing from the overwhelming majority of the popular culture that we consume. But is that really the case? In this compelling conversation Mark Bould, a distinguished professor of film and literature at the University of the West of England, explains how we might be able to uncover the crisis in TV, books, and film where it isn't obvious at first glance. Bould is the author of The Anthropocene Unconscious: Climate Catastrophe Culture, which challenges our conventional understanding of climate change narratives and encourages us to uncover the implicit climate themes woven into various forms of media. Bould explains in this conversation how science fiction especially can serve as a powerful lens through which we can examine the complexities of climate change and its cultural implications. Throughout this episode, we journey through a diverse array of media, including the Sharknado, Arrival, World War Z, The Edge of Tomorrow, The Purge, and the Fast & Furious franchise to examine how climate themes appear in unexpected plas. From the explosive rise of zombie films to the nuanced storytelling of literary novels, Bould shares his insights on how these narratives not only reflect societal anxieties but also shape our collective consciousness regarding the climate crisis. Whether you're a film nerd or a climate change champion, this episode offers a thought-provoking exploration of how fiction can illuminate the biggest challenges we face. This week the ghouls discuss Romero's iconic zombie classic, Night of the Living Dead. From wiki: “Night of the Living Dead is a 1968 American independent zombie horror film directed, photographed, and edited by George A. Romero, written by Romero and John Russo, produced by Russell Streiner and Karl Hardman, and starring Duane Jones and Judith O'Dea. The story follows seven people trapped in a farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania, under assault by flesh-eating reanimated corpses. Although the monsters that appear in the film are referred to as "ghouls", they are credited with popularizing the modern portrayal of zombies in popular culture.”Also discussed: Drusilla's new house, Clash of the Titans and Ray Harryhausen, Showgirls and gay people, Pavements the Pavement doc, Train to Busan, Diary of the Dead, Army of the Dead, World War Z, Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, and more! They whispered about the undead rising through dark rituals, but deep in the swamp, where the air is thick with fog and secrets, the legends of Voodoo zombies are more than just stories.Darkness Syndicate members get the ad-free version. https://weirddarkness.com/syndicateInfo on the next LIVE SCREAM event. https://weirddarkness.com/LiveScreamInfo on the next WEIRDO WATCH PARTY event. https://weirddarkness.com/TVIN THIS EPISODE: Movies like Shaun of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, World War Z, and TV shows like The Walking Dead, have made the subject of zombies a fairly popular topic over recent years. Makeup, Prosthetics, and Hair..oh my! Fellow Ozians! We've got more to share from our conversation with the Hair, Makeup, and Prosthetics designer of Wicked, Frances Hannon! We had so much fun talking to Frances, there was no possible way we could fit everything we talked about into one little (green) baby episode. Today, we're talking more about Elphaba's HMU, the nuts and bolts of Ozian body doubles & stand-ins, and which collaboration left Frances starstruck. Let's go down to the Ozdust ballroom…. Famous in the entertainment industry for her ability to transform any face, makeup and hair designer Frances Hannon first entered the realm of film and TV with a job working on the British sketch comedy series "The Kenny Everett Television Show" (on the BBC, 1981-88). Cut to her ongoing collaboration with Wes Anderson which began with 1998's : “Rushmore.” Hannon quickly became one of the most sought after makeup and hair designers in Hollywood, loved and appreciated by directors and actors alike for her rigorous research. She won an Oscar for her work on Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel, and has worked on major blockbusters like World War Z, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and most recently…Wicked.
