Mit Defender of the Crown hatte die Firma Cinemaware 1986 ein frühes Amiga-Highlight auf den Markt gebracht, dass vor allem durch seine phänomenale Grafik und eine filmähnliche Präsentation zu begeistern wusste. Diesen Eckpfeilern blieb die Firma auch in der Folge weiterhin treu und Ende der 80er wand man sich dem Atom-Horror aus der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts zu. IT CAME FROM THE DESERT orientiert sich inhaltlich stark an Formicula und wirft den Spieler in ein staubiges Wüstenkaff, dessen Existenz von gigantischen Ameisen bedroht wird. Das Insektenvertilgungsunternehmen "Heßdörfer & Cloutier" hat sich daher direkt nach Lizard Breath, Kalifornien (oder war es doch New Mexico?!) begeben, um sich der blutrünstigen Krabblerarmee zu stellen.     David Riordan Discusses It Came From The Desert  On June 8th, 2017 I interviewed filmmaker Marko Mäkilaakso, and thus began our coverage of It Came From The Desert. On May 21st, 2018 I interviewed lead actress Vanessa Grasse on her role in It Came From The Desert. On Wednesday, June 6th, 2018 I connected and concluded coverage to the film in our interview with David Riordan, developer of the game to which the film is based on.
