Welcome to the 7th sermon in our series looking at personal encounters with Jesus as recorded in the gospel of John. The idea that God would become a human and “dwell among us” is an astounding thought. The God of the Bible did not remain hidden or removed or indifferent, He actually wrote Himself into the story and became one of His creation!? And when Jesus walked among us, He did not come as a king or a warrior or a leader, He came as a servant. He walked and talked and met with very real people in very real circumstances.  This summer at Refuge, we are going through the Gospel of John and meeting Jesus in these encounters with all kinds of people. We don't just want to know our opinions about Jesus, we want to know who He really was and how He interacted with people so that we can come to know Him better.

What Happens in This Episode? In this Jesus Stories episode, as Jesus approaches Jerusalem he tells a parable of a rich nobleman. He visits the home of Simon the leper, whom he had healed. Simon hosts a party in his honor. Among the attendees are Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. Mary anoints Jesus with oil – much to the dismay of some. Jesus finally rides into Jerusalem and is honored as the King he is. While the crowd shouts approval, the Pharisees plot to kill both Jesus and Lazarus. Jesus laments Jerusalem's future fate when he enters the city, takes a look at the Temple and then leaves. Are you feeling called to start something new? Discover the transformative journey of how to start a house church and create a community that thrives on faith and fellowship. Starting a house church can be a rewarding experience, offering a unique opportunity to connect with others on a deeper level. In this video, Jesse Reeves of King's Porch, explores the essential steps and considerations for establishing your own house church. From understanding the core principles to practical church outreach ideas. Jesse Reeves - award-winning songwriter ("Speak Jesus") and worship leader - shares his radical shift from touring with Chris Tomlin to the front lines of a house church movement. After years on staff at Passion City and The Austin Stone, Jesse took a God-ordained "sabbatical" that led him to a startling realization: We have more Christian resources than ever, yet fewer people coming to know Christ.Discover the rhythm of King's Porch, where the "Jesus Stories" practice turned awkward silence into a culture of evangelism. Jesse breaks down the history of the "clergy-laity divide" and explains why every Christian - from realtors to car salesmen - is called to be a royal priest in their own neighborhood. Logan Holloman | Next Gen Pastor | May 24, 2026 Referenced Scripture: Luke 16:19-31, Colossians 1:16, Romans 1:28-31 Reflection Questions: 1. When you hear the question, “How could a loving God send people to hell?”, what emotions or assumptions immediately come to mind? How did this message challenge, deepen, or reshape the way you think about that question? 2. The sermon described hell as “the final form of exile from God” rather than simply punishment. How does viewing the Bible through the lens of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration change the conversation about judgment? 3. In Luke 16, the rich man's deepest issue was not wealth, but a heart curved inward on itself. Where are you tempted to become spiritually indifferent—to God, to others, or to suffering around you? 4. The cross shows Jesus entering our exile to bring us home. What stands out most to you about the idea that God personally stepped into judgment and suffering for humanity? 5. The sermon ended with the question: “Who am I becoming?” What habits, loves, priorities, or patterns are currently shaping your heart? Are they moving you toward deeper communion with God and others—or further inward toward self-centeredness? What's your next step? Connect: We'd love to connect with you! Thank you for joining us for Christian Faith Center's Sermon of the week. This message is from our Nampa Location. Pastor Jordan continues our message series "JESUS STORIES" Mark 11:12–24 NLTThis story is not about a tree! It's about: Religion without power. Spirituality without forgiveness. Form but no fruit. God but no grace! When cursed this tree.... He did something He never did again. The cursed tree was the only miracle of destruction that Jesus ever performed. It really wasn't about the tree! This was about the temple, for Jesus! This was a prophetic picture!

Thank you for joining us for Christian Faith Center's Sermon of the week. This message is from our Nampa Location. Pastor Jordan continues our message series "JESUS STORIES" There are many people, Christians, and pastors that are trying to predict a lot right now. Does this mean the end is coming? Does this mean the rapture of the church is closer? Is this setting the stage for the end times? With biblical Persia being modern day Iran... There are certainly implications! This wouldn't be the first time the prince of Persia had been restrained so that God's will could be done!

Revelation 19v6-7 with Tyler Staton How do our bodies and our sexuality fit into the larger story of God's redemption? This teaching traces the biblical story from creation to resurrection, showing how our bodies were designed to reveal God's beauty, how sin distorted that design, and how Jesus restores it. In the way of Jesus, our desires are not something to ignore or indulge, but something to be redeemed and directed toward the deeper love we were made for. Bridgetown.church/teaching
