Jesus was more than just a good teacher or an amazing leader. He embodied all he taught and put flesh on all he communicated. He was (and IS) the Word, Light, Life, and so much more. When people encountered him, they were changed in a manner that was hard to explain. Can we be transformed today in similar ways? The theme of our 2025 Spring Conference was "Jesus Stories: Transformative Encounters with Christ." We were led by Peter Mead, a gifted Bible teacher, author, and pastor from the UK. He guided us through six stories of Jesus from the Gospel of John. This specific talk is called "DRAWN." Prepare yourself to be surprised and changed through these "Jesus Stories." What happens when a loving Father, a wayward son and a judgmental brother collide? Luke 15 tells us the value of a soul to God and teaches us to value those who are lost as greater than those who are found.

Send us a textHave you ever done something pretty terrific and someone else gets the credit for it? It can frustrate us, and even sometimes make us mad. But Joseph Scriven reacted neither way, even when his beautiful hymn, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," was credited to someone else. Scriven was a completely selfless and loving man, who happily sacrificed all he had to further the Kingdom of God. His story is one of tragedy and sadness, but ultimately a story of triumph as God used Joseph Scriven in mighty ways!Introduction Song - To God Be the Glory performed by Julia Gavin Holmes with permissionWhat a Friend We Have in Jesus - The Worship Zone - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9Yx06camvUThanks for tuning in! WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS EPISODE: In this Jesus Stories episode, we examine the question of costs. Have you ever considered the value of the Kingdom of God? Jesus explains this to us. Given its value, then, what is the cost to follow Jesus into the Kingdom of God? Jesus explains that to us, too. We take a deep dive into these questions as we consider “The Cost For Following Jesus.” This is a tough teaching to hear. But, it is crucial to understand what Jesus asks of us as followers. WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS EPISODE: Jesus tells stories in this episode of Jesus Stories! Jesus was the consummate storyteller. But his stories all had a purpose. They were used to teach secrets about the Kingdom. These are secrets that some can hear and understand; others cannot. We go through some of Jesus' stories in this episode including the explanations which Jesus offers to his disciples. Then, we begin telling the stories of Jesus' miracles. We watch as Jesus stills a storm at sea. And we meet a man who is possessed by a Legion of demons – until Jesus meets him. Happy Easter! I've finally been watching "The Chosen" series, and I love it. Although it goes far beyond the Scriptural narrative, it makes me think about the personal stories of those who surround Jesus. How did they come to follow Jesus? What is their story? As we hear about the bravery of Mary Magdalene this morning, who not only accompanied Jesus on the Way of the Cross but also courageously visited his tomb on Easter morning, we can wonder, "What is her Jesus story?" What is mine? What is yours?
