Sarah Jessica Parker has spent decades as Carrie Bradshaw, but here’s the twist: she’s never actually watched herself do any of it. Not the sex, not the shopping, not even the typing. So is it the ultimate act of self-care, or just a lil bit lazy? Plus, everyone’s talking about texting less—until they’re the ones left on read. We unpack the modern crisis of communication overload, from parenting to work to friendships, and why it’s never as simple as just putting your phone down. If you thought podcasts were just for your ears, think again. Vodcasts are taking over and we feel… conflicted about it. Are you sick of our faces yet? We certainly are. There's a standout star on Duchess Meghan’s latest long-form interview, but surprise... it's not Megs. Enter one Emma Grede: Skims co-founder, Shark Tank guest judge, and the new archetype of the modern girl boss. While Meghan’s business advice is a little on the fluffy side, Emma’s empire—from shapewear to podcasts to philanthropic pledges—has Mia exhausted. Meanwhile, Holly is bringing Etsy witches back with a dark update. What happens when your Etsy witch dies mid-spell? It happened and the buyer of this magical intervention isn't happy. Plus, someone returns from therapy with two anxiety hacks that might just change your life... or at least put your performance anxiety on hiatus for a while. And the debate about a debate: Why are South Australian high schools debating the legitimacy of 'Tradwives'? Jessie's extensive debate career (ages 13-16), has prepared her for this moment. Hello to you listening in Victoria, BC, CanadaLand!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds (and a bit more for a change up) for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. My friend Michelle asked me something that made me stop and think. She said, "You always end Story Prompt Friday with 'Write that story!' But you believe in the music of the spoken word - telling stories out loud - why not say that?Michelle knows me well. Here's the thing about our voices - they carry magic that our fingers can't capture. When you write your story, you're having a conversation with yourself. It's a lovely and necessary place to begin. But when you speak your story out loud, something different happens. Something powerful.Your voice carries the rhythm of your heartbeat. It holds the catch in your throat when you remember something tender. It speeds up when you get excited and slows down when the moment matters most. These aren't just sounds - they're the music of your experience.Think about the last time someone told you a story that made you lean in closer. Was it their words alone? Or was it the way their voice dropped to an intimate whisper? The way they paused right before the surprise? The way their whole face lit up when they got to the good part? When you tell your story out loud, you're not just sharing information. You're sharing yourself. Your voice carries your personality, your emotions, your truth in ways that words on a page simply cannot. Here's what I've learned in thirty years of teaching people to tell their stories: most of us have forgotten how powerful our voices are. We text instead of call. We email instead of visit. We've become quiet.Your story needs your voice. It needs the way you say certain words. It needs your pauses, your emphasis, your breath. These aren't extras - they're essential story ingredients. When you stand up and tell your story, you're claiming space in the world. You're saying, "This happened. This matters. I matter." That's not just storytelling - that's courage. And here's the magical surprise: when you tell your story out loud, you hear it differently than when you write it. You discover new meanings. You find the parts that will move your listeners. You learn which moments need more time and which ones can move faster.Your voice teaches you about your own story.Your stories are waiting for the full power of your voice. They're waiting for the music of the spoken word only you can make.So yes, write your stories. But don't stop there. Find someone to tell them to, a loved one, an animal companion, even to yourself as you're walking outside or working in your garden. That's where I practice! What's important is that you have a story to share.Give others that gift. Give yourself that gift. If you need a hand up I can help. Email me at info@quartermoonstoryarts.net to arrange for a no obligation Discovery Call or reach out to me ("Wyzga on Words") on Substack. I'd love the opportunity to work with you! In this unforgettable Full Frontal of What's Your Position, we sit down with the incomparable Jessica Lynn—international speaker, educator, and trans rights advocate whose personal story has changed laws, hearts, and minds around the world. With raw vulnerability and unapologetic brilliance, Jessica opens up about her decades-long fight for truth, identity, and justice—including her high-profile custody battle that became a lightning rod in the global conversation around transgender rights. We explore her evolution from a life lived in hiding to one of radical visibility, and how her scientific knowledge, emotional intelligence, and deep compassion have made her one of the most sought-after voices in gender education today. Fewer than 30% of trans adults over 50 say they have strong support systems. Jessica is changing that—one conversation, one courtroom, and one country at a time. In today's episode, Colleen shares a raw and relatable story about frustration, tech fails, and the moment she remembered one of the most powerful tools she teaches: making friends with your feelings. You'll hear how a seemingly small trigger (a broken download link before a long workday) became the perfect opportunity to practice emotional sobriety. She walks you through how to recognize emotional inflammation, catch unhelpful thoughts, and redirect your energy—before it hijacks your day. Because the truth is, your emotions aren't the problem.... They're trying to help you. If you listen, they'll show you exactly where you're giving away your power. Key Takeaways: • What it really means to "make friends with a feeling" • How to recognize emotional inflammation in real time • Why your body is your most accurate bullshit detector • How to flip frustration, helplessness, or resistance into clarity and momentum • A hilariously honest story about tech struggles, pre-coffee rage, and how one shift changed everything Action Steps: Bring awareness to ONE emotional reaction you struggle with—frustration, shame, resentment, overwhelm, etc.—and practice noticing it in the moment. Instead of spiraling into your usual response- Pause. Label the feeling. Then ask yourself "Out-Loud" what your body is trying to tell you. Use the energy of that emotion as fuel to take the smallest next right step. Your feelings are not the enemy. They're the flashlight. Follow the beam and reclaim your power. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and her unwillingness to dim her own light so that broken bulbs can salivate at the illusion of a possible flicker of a glow, exposes so many people and their lack of self esteem, without even trying. Imagine, a woman who has hurt no one, has dedicated her LIFE to the service of those in need and vulnerable parties, being the target of a hate campaign so normalized that people actually use hating her as a PR strategy. I love that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex refuses to be a target for your misplaced shame and lack of self worth. I love that she doesn't need anyone's validation, because she defines herself. I love that she lives her life OUT LOUD and doesn't need permission to do it. We all have difficulties in life, we all have challenges, life has been unfair to EVERYONE at one point or another, what sane people DON'T do is target an innocent and delightful woman with their own personal internalized self hate. Being a Hater is a CHOICE. Go Heal and get some help.

Why is it easier to relax in your obedience when you are alone? Or when you are facing a stranger who frustrates you?Paul continues in verse 12 with how they are to continue in their obedience, with “fear and trembling.” What is the “fear” that would cause you to “tremble” about disobedience in those situations?Verse 13 conveys an active participation between you and God that results in spiritual growth. At what times and situations do you find your will to obey the weakest? What does this passage teach you to do in these situations? In verses 14 and 15, Paul relates that living as a Christian blamelessly and without fault (NIV) means doing everything without complaining or arguing. When and with whom is it easy to disobey this command? Why does doing everything without complaining or arguing make you “shine as lights” in the dark places of this world?Shining as lights in a warped and crooked generation requires that you “hold firmly to the word of life” (verse 16). “We can bury anyone: Inside a Hollywood smear machine”. That’s the New York Times headline that meant, holiday or no holiday, we were definitely bringing you a show today. Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni made headlines just a few months ago for their roles in one of the year’s most-watched films, It Ends With Us. But what was happening off-screen turned out to be an even bigger story. In this emergency meeting of Out Loud, Mia, Jessie and Holly unpack the facts behind Blake's legal complaint against her co-star and director Justin, which alleges sexual harassment and an orchestrated campaign to destroy her reputation. Plus, what this lawsuit means for Hollywood power dynamics, celebrity reputations, and the way narratives are shaped online. This story has implications far beyond a single movie. It’s about the intersection of art, accountability, and the manipulation of public perception in the digital age. Join us as we break it all down. (this is a re-release) If your inner voice manifested into a human form today, would you be friends with it? I think a lot of us would have to teach our new friend some manners before going into the real world. Which is wild to think about - that the most common voice, our most reliable narrator, our internal operator is kind of an asshole? Is really sad to me. If the voice we live with, and listen to the most, is not nice? What does that mean?Negative self talk quickly trains your brain to believe that the criticisms of it are true. This is why it's so crucial to train your brain that the good shit can be true, instead. If you cuss yourself out every time you drop something, or call yourself names when you make mistakes, I highly recommend this tactic: EVERY time you catch yourself thinking or saying something negative about yourself (or someone else) you MUST say OUT LOUD two unique positive things to counteract that thought. And take a second to absorb it and try to believe it. Train your brain that there are alternate ways of thinking and believing and perceiving. I fully recognize that reframing isn't a miracle cure for everyone and everything, but this one, with enough practice and redirection - does work. And the less we complain, the less we see the world as a thing to complain about, and find a lot of the shit we were complaining about was not that big of a deal to begin with. Notice it. Then replace it with more positive thoughts. Then reward yourself with a lil hell yeah. And if this sounds hokey and too much for a simple thought - the magic of the practice is because it IS too much, it doesn't reallllly take that long to stick in theory. Think about it, nobody is gonna wanna self correct and think of new original and unique compliments all day, especially if we struggle with positive self talk, so it's a real solid rebuttal strategy! The brain is a giant computer. Computer needs updates + reprogramming occasionally. We should be keeping up with this shit anyway. We need to “sleep and shut down” to keep the battery healthy. But this is a great way to do so. In this podcast extra, Grammy and Oscar winner Finneas talks about his new album, ‘For Cryin' Out Loud!,' his approach to songwriting and why some words and lyrics are timeless, how he writes and produces with his sister Billie Eilish, his skepticism of A.I. from creativity to wedding speeches, and his views of Hans Zimmer, Selena Gomez and James Blake in this extended interview with MSNBC anchor and music obsessive Ari Melber. Parts of the interview aired on MSNBC and this is the full discussion, the newest installment of “Mavericks with Ari Melber,” a series of interviews with artists, musicians and cultural icons.
