It's Gallifrey One, it's the start of a mammoth weekend for Doctor Who fans, and it is a milestone for the Three Who Rule – their ONE THOUSANDTH episode! And what better way to pass the one thousand barrier than a full length interview with Doctor Who writer and former show runner Steven Moffat, and current Doctor Who executive producer Julie Gardner! LIVE from Long Island Who 60 on August 19, 2023! We had the pleasure of entertaining a fantastic live audience by interviewing none other than actor/author Michael Troughton! We discussed his career so far, visiting the Doctor Who set 3 times as a child, his time as a physics teacher, and yes, even some animal impressions. Then we switch gears as Michael presents his Pick of the Month, the legendary Rowan Atkinson BBC comedy classic, Blackadder! How did we all discover this show? Which quote from the show does Michael use in real life? What was it like attending a live taping with Rowan Atkinson? All this and more! Special thanks to Michael Troughton, Ken Deep, Billy & Steven Davis, Kyle Williamson, and all the good people at L.I. Podcasting legend and L.I. Who showrunner Ken Deep joins us this month to discuss how his lifelong love of a show has grown from fan clubs to podcasts to convention hosting. Ken talks about discovering Doctor Who, riding his bike across town to the "skyscraper of Doctor Who Towers", the joys of running a Doctor Who convention, and how a randomly recorded episode at the end of a dubbed Doctor Who tape led him straight into another fandom. That fandom would be Ken's Pick of the Month - the BBC renegade sci-fi classic, Blake's 7! Hear us discuss why this is one of Ken's favorite all-time shows, how very closely related it is to Doctor Who, how influential the show was to other sci-fi phenomena that came afterwards, and how it still holds up over 40 years later. Was this the Torchwood of its time? And to exactly which Star Trek episode does Ken compare the entire series? Find out more about L.I Who 2023 at longislanddoctorwho.com for guests, hotel information, and tickets. That's August 18-20, 2023 at Holiday Inn Long Island. Who & Company will also be there! In what could prove a watershed moment in Doctor Who history, Emma Foster, Ro Karen & Ken Deep join me to discuss Disney+ becoming Doctor Who's new international distributor and business collaborator. ON THIS EPISODE We interview the authors of "A WORLD OF DEMONS: THE VILLAINS OF DOCTOR WHO," including Hannah Friedman, Ken Deep and Barnaby Edwards. In their own words:"A World of Demons: The Villains of Doctor Who”“One may tolerate a world of demons for the sake of an angel”—Jean-Antoninette (“Reinette”) Poisson, aka Madame de Pompadour, “The Girl in the Fireplace”What a world of demons Doctor Who has presented us with over the past seven decades: from Daleks and Cybermen to Weeping Angels and the Silence, the greatest villains of the Who-niverse have achieved an iconic status all their own, cementing themselves in the minds of millions of viewers (why else would Parker Brothers have devised a version of Monopoly after them?). If, as the Seventh Doctor once said, "You can always judge a man by the quality of his enemies,” the Doctor is great indeed, rescuing the universe time and again from some of the most formidable and terrifying villains in science fiction history. Now, for the first time, an entire anthology of essays is dedicated to deconstructing this gallery of blackguards. Who are the greatest Who villains of all time? Why are they so frightening? And—apologies to Shakespeare—what do they tell us about the villainy of our own fears?Featuring essays by Joseph Dougherty (executive producer, Pretty Little Liars; producer, thirtysomething), Steven Ashby, Anton Binder, Sarah Corey, Ken Deep, Jan Fennick, Hannah Friedman, Mark Givens, Nancy Hutchins, Jennie Jarvis, Don Klees, Chris Kocher, Robin Koman, Charles Martin, Michael Robinson, Steve Sautter, and Shane Thomas.Edited by David Bushman (Conversations with Mark Frost) and Barnaby Edwards (president, Doctor Who New York)► A WORLD OF DEMONShttps://www.fayettevillemafiapress.com/product/doctor-who-copy/?fbclid=IwAR3T0BiIgXXT1vjJ0H8GmrDJ1slB0vm5xg0Ipuu_1fljcGR7F-iUtnmR8p8Follow The Legend of the Traveling TARDIS on Social Media:► FACEBOOK - Facebook.com/TheTravelingTARDIS► YOUTUBE - YouTube.com/TheLegendOfTheTravelingTARDIS► WEBSITE - TheLegendOfTheTravelingTARDIS.com► TWITTER - Twitter.com/TheTravelTARDIS► INSTAGRAM - Instagram.com/legendtravelingtardis► TWITCH TV - Twitch.tv/travelingtardis► IHEARTRADIO - iheart.com/podcast/966-the-legend-of-the-travelin-30296020The Legend of the Traveling TARDIS covers the latest news, gives the most diverse reviews and fun interviews about the Doctor WHO WHOniverse.► THE LEGEND OF THE TRAVELING TARDIS FAMILY OF SPONSORS:► Doctor WHO: Worlds Apart Virtual Card Game: doctorwho-worldsapart.com► FameTek / Speakers and Chargers: fametek.com► BE A PART OF OUR FAMILY OF SPONSORS - Got a product or service you want promoted on The Legend of the Traveling TARDIS?Email Sage@hanginwithshow.com or Christian@hanginwithshow.com for rates and details.Thumbnail design by KEVO RISSE of "Husbands Talking, More or Less Podcast."► PODCAST: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/html-husbands-talking-more-or-less/id1446018337

Our crack GPR team is scattered across the North American continent, but there are a few events on the calendar that regularly have us all converging on the same spot (Blinovitch Limitation Effect, be damned!). Who showrunner himself, Ken Deep, back with us to discuss the Herculean efforts […]

10 years! That’s a whole lot of talking by three jaunty Canadians about a British television program of little repute by the name of Professor Whom. But after a smattering of news, the Three Who Rule move quickly on to an extended series of interviews with the fine people with whom we’ve shared our podcasting adventures with, including: Ken Deep of Podshock fame, Deborah Stanish, Katrina Griffiths and Erika Ensign of Verity!, Chip Sudderth of the Two Minute Time Lord, and Simon Harries, John Williams and Neil Perryman of Tachyon TV! As if the build-up to and the celebration of Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary wasn't enough, the very next week after "The Day of the Doctor" wowed and amazed countless fans worldwide, more than two thousand of those fans gathered at Chicago TARDIS to revel in the celebration.
