In this series Hannah ventures into the strange and beautiful world of Twin Peaks for the very first time, guided by Twin Peaks veteran Matt.  Each week, we cover one to two episodes from the show to unpack the filmmaking, themes, music, mysteries, and all the wonderfully weird moments in between. Along the way, we'll spotlight our “Suspect of the Week,” "Who I Trust With My Coffee," "Notes for Diane," and make predictions for the future of the show.  Whether you're a longtime resident of David Lynch and Mark Frost's Twin Peaks or stepping into the Red Room for the first time, grab a slice of cherry pie and a damn fine cup of coffee and join us as we unravel the mystery of killed Laura Palmer, why are the owls not what they seem, and more.    We will be posting the first 2 episodes here, but after that all future episodes will be exclusively on Welcome to Twin Peaks. More than 25 years since TWIN PEAKS was unceremoniously taken off the air by ABC, the series was resurrected for a third season by creators David Lynch and Mark Frost. In this first of our two-part deep dive, we explore how Lynch returned to Twin Peaks after its cancellation — and how his original vision for a Twin Peaks movie evolved into something far darker and more personal. We'll track the story from the series' troubled end through the film's early development, the departure of co-creator Mark Frost, the decision to center Laura Palmer's final days, and the winding, often surreal path the script took. We also dive into Lynch's inspiration, his collaboration with new and returning cast members, and the emotional weight of revisiting the trauma at the heart of the original series — this time from Laura's perspective.

For a very special 100th episode of Screenshot, Ellen E Jones and Mark Kermode explore the cult classic TV show. The great surrealist American filmmaker David Lynch died in January 2025 at the age of 78. Lynch's films spanned the underground midnight movie Eraserhead, the black and white heartbreaker The Elephant Man and the critically beloved Mulholland Drive. Yet the director was perhaps most appreciated for the TV show he co-created with screenwriter Mark Frost - Twin Peaks. Mark speaks to Mark Frost about his relationship with Lynch, and about the impact and legacy of their ground-breaking series. The pair discuss how pressure to solve the central murder of high school student Laura Palmer impacted Twin Peaks, and how the revival of the series in 2017 - after a 25 year hiatus - now seems fated.Meanwhile, Ellen talks to critic and die-hard Twin Peaks fan Jourdain Searles about the series' dedicated cult following. And she speaks to actor Tim Roth, star of Reservoir Dogs and Rob Roy, who got a chance to work with his hero David Lynch in 2017 on Twin Peaks: The Return.
