Pull To Open goes on location! Pete and Chris hit Gallifrey One in Los Angeles as total Gally virgins, gawping at “chemicals on fire” sunsets, accidentally learning how expensive fandom can be, and collecting hot takes like they're limited-edition prints. Along the way: Peter Davison (and the Tom Baker advice he still can't hear), Millie Gibson popping in like it's no big deal, and a convention floor vibe check that can best be summarized by one hoodie: “I told you Disney was a bad idea.” Plus: fans tell us where Doctor Who goes next… including the boldest pitch of all: put it on YouTube.Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and become a True Companion of the podcast to get new episodes before everyone else!Subscribe to our newsletter at pulltoopen.net.Support the podcast by becoming a patron of Pull To Open on Patreon. Please review Pull To Open on Apple Podcasts.Follow us on:TikTok: @pulltoopenInstagram: @pulltoopen63Facebook: @pulltoopen63X: @pulltoopen63Threads: @pulltoopen63Bluesky: @pulltoopenPlay Pull To Open BingoPull To Open: Gallifrey One RecapSeason 7Episode 4Hosts: Pete Pachal and Chris TaylorMusic: Martin West/Thinking Fish©️AnyWho Media LLC 2026Doctor Who ©️BBC 1963
We're back at it after Gallifrey One (and some con crud for Taylor), reviewing episode three of The War Between the Land and the Sea! SPOILER ALERT!! There are some things that happen in this episode that you might not want to know about before actually watching it (or maybe you do, we don't judge). We're also assuming you've watched TWBTLATS if you're listening to this. Because we know it's not just for our handsome radio voices. Anyway! You've been warned!

It's Gallifrey One time! While the Canadian contingent in Los Angeles this year was low (including both Warren and Chris, who like many Canadians chose not to frequent the environs of our troubled neighbours), Steven represented both the Embassy of Radio Free Skaro, and the nation of Canada (the latter unofficially). Erika from Verity! and Chip from 2MTL join Steven in recapping this weekend's convention, including talks of panels, and going inside with the many main stage interviews that Steven performed. The War Between the Land and the Sea is premiering Sunday, December 7! While that throws a wrench in our usually stable release plans, we're certain we can all cope through the first three weeks of December. In other news, the Three Who Rule calm the waters on missing episode rumblings, a follow-up on Tubi disintegrating Classic Doctor Who from its listings, Gallifrey One news, more staircase intrigues, and the Pondcast, a new podcast featuring none other than Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill reminiscing about their time on Doctor Who! Hello dear listener! Dave's taken a leave of absence (we'll do the planned FATHER TIME episode next month), and tonight Rob is talking to the self-professed 'Pip & Jane Baker of co-hosts', Mike Solko, on a missing story from Season 23 of Doctor Who, PARADISE 5. Before then, all the usual news and short topics you've come to expect – including surprise showrunner talk from RTD, and new trailers for Season 2 of the show. In Short Topics, Mike covers the changes coming to Gallifrey One (the world's largest and longest-running annual Doctor Who fan convention), in the years ahead. Later on, after the Paradise 5 section, we have a ton of listener feedback and what we've been watching this past month. Something for everyone! Fill your boots! Folks, we are back into the swing of things post-Gallifrey One and we have our annual post-Gally "episode suggested by our friend Mike"! This time around, Mike has suggested RTD's very first series: Dark Season! Originally made for kids back in 1991, it's clear that RTD really wanted to write for Doctor Who because RTD's style and The Doctor's fingerprints are all over this six-part series! So grab a paddle and wear something really pastel and let's dive in!
Marvel's big event has begun and the Speakers of Geek give their thoughts on the first issue of One World Under Doom by Ryan North, R.B. Silva, David Curiel, Travis Lanham and company. Doctor Doom has made his move and is now in control of the world! We discuss his possible motivations, the gathering of the heroes in opposition, the art, and speculate on future developments. And then we close with Pants' recent trip to Gallifrey One. Only Doom can save you - but will he? (48:43)
It's the week after Gallifrey One which means two things: post-Gally malaise AND a giant pile of news, including a release date of April 12 for Season 2 on iPlayer (and also theoretically Disney Plus), speculation on the future of Doctor Who as per usual, a boatload of Big Finish, new books, a new RTD-penned series called “Tip-Toe” coming next year to Channel 4, and endless Youtube cogitation mostly revolving around Steven reacting to things. It's a bittersweet podcast today as we wrap up what has been a fantastic weekend at Gallifrey One, our home away from home. But it's even more sad as it's been announced that Gallifrey One will end its unprecedented run of conventions in 2028. It will take a while for the Three Who Rule to process this (probably more than the three years the convention has left), but fun is still had with Doctor Who writer Andrew Smith joining the Three for a recap of the convention, Big Finish secrets, and naturally, talk of The Sandbaggers.
