Guest host Meg Wolitzer presents three stories in which games are featured. Brian Agler's “The Rules of this Board Game Are Long, But Also Complicated” speaks for itself as the unnamed host of game night makes it clear there is no way to win this one. Meg Wolitzer is the reader. In John Updike's “Still of Some Use,” a family clears its attic of old games; memories and emotions surface, along with battered boards and random game pieces. The reader is James Naughton. In Susan Perabo's “Some Say the World,” a fragile young woman holds the world at bay with Parcheesi. The reader is Colby Minifie.
Ash Mahoney is joined by three Bricklayers to discuss their approach to winning work and the quoting process. There's tips, tricks, previous experiences (good & bad) and different methods discussed with guests. Guests include: Al Porthouse, James Rodon & James Naughton
Izzy The Bricky invites show regular, James Naughton (26) to join him and talk about his experiences on the tools and running businesses in the trade so far. James talks through his early days in detail, the trials and tribulations of his business management experiences and everything that he loves about the trade
Izzy the Bricky talks to three guests who have had a variety of experiences in the trade about how you can get good quality and consistent work. Izzy also asks why it's sometimes hard to progress and move up the ladder in your career as a bricklayer. James Naughton talks about his already incredibly varied career in the trade at the age of 26 and gives his thoughts on why some are struggling to find work. Lee Fuller, talks about how he left the trade entirely and then came back bigger and better than ever and Lee Blower, an accomplished bricklayer gives some sound advice
Born a gifted athlete, life almost took James Naughton down another path…until he found his home in the theater. The actor earned his first Tony for the musical City of Angels – and his second as the originator of the role of Billy Flynn in the hit Broadway revival of the musical Chicago, now the second-longest running show in Broadway history. As a director, he helmed the Tony-nominated Arthur Miller's “The Price” and Thorton Wilder's “Our Town,” the latter of which was featured on PBS' Masterpiece Theater. Naughton also regularly brings his talent to the small screen, like in his roles on “Who's the Boss?,""Ally McBeal,” and “Gossip Girl,” and in films “The Devil Wears Prada” and “The First Wives Club.” James Naughton shares with host Alec Baldwin his experience directing - and being directed by - his good friend Paul Newman, acting at the famous Williamstown Theater with an all-star ensemble, and how he's working to enact change through legislation today.
