Send us Fan MailWhat if the most generous thing you could do for every relationship in your life is to come back to yourself first? This week I'm joined by Karen Green, therapist, professor, and creator of Conscious Care Cards, for a deeply honest conversation about attachment wounds, nervous system regulation, and why healing yourself changes everything around you.Karen has spent her career working with families, and what she keeps finding is the same truth at the centre of it all;  that the quality of your inner world determines the quality of every relationship you have. And that it is never too late to do that work.In this episode, we talk about:Why attachment trauma is not a private family issue but a public health issue and why it starts with youThe fractures we carry from childhood and how they quietly shape every relationship we step into as adultsWhy one attuned, present relationship can rewire everything — and why it is never too late to experience thatThe neurobiology of "we": how a regulated nervous system is the foundation of every authentic connectionMoving from sympathetic chaos to parasympathetic presence and why connection simply cannot happen in survival modeReparenting yourself: meeting your own unmet needs so you can stop running on emptyWhy your triggers are not problems to fix but invitations to finally tend to the part of you that was never heldThe research-backed truth that one person, even for 45 minutes, can change the trajectory of a lifeKaren's work is a quiet reminder that showing up whole for the people you love begins with showing up whole for yourself and that the path back is simpler than you think.Karen A. If you can make conversation, you can make your own luck.Good communication isn't passive. And good luck, says Tina Seelig, is the same. There's “what the world gives us,” and then there's “how we respond to it.”Seelig is executive director of the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program at Stanford University and author of What I Wish I Knew About Luck. For her, good fortune doesn't find us, we find it. “Opportunities for lucky things to happen are ubiquitous. But they're invisible and most people don't see them,” she says. In the same way that communication requires active listening, making our own luck requires presence to the people and possibilities that come our way.In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, Seelig and host Matt Abrahams explore how communication creates luck. Jesse Lipson, Founder and CEO of Levitate, focuses on using AI to help providers enhance patient-provider communication and develop and maintain personal, authentic connections with patients. Patient expectations are changing due to AI, and patients now expect more responsive, personalized messaging from doctors. This service-as-software can support busy providers in developing and executing a communication strategy at scale to build their practices and strengthen relationships with patients. Jesse explains, "My vision was to help what I call relationship-based businesses. I would consider many types of healthcare practices to fall into that category, and to do a better job of keeping in touch with their patients in a more personal, authentic way at scale. And so I think the challenge is we all know the value of the simple things like remembering kids' names, pets' names, spouse names, hobbies, and reaching out and keeping in touch in a thoughtful way on a regular basis. But it's very hard to do that at scale, and things kind of slip through the cracks." "When it comes to patient care itself, you want to be that person who, when you do get to spend a little bit of time with a patient, you are remembering things about them more on a human level rather than just in and out on the clinical level. Both because that provides a good patient experience, and I think that's what a lot of providers are motivated to do when they get into the field. But that context can also be helpful in providing a high level of care, in knowing and remembering things, and in deepening that personal relationship. So that was our goal: not to use AI as an automated replacement for that communication between providers and patients, but to use it to help them do a better job of that personal, authentic communication."   #Levitate #PatientEmpowerment #PatientExperience #PatientCenteredCare #HealthTech #HealthcareTechnology #RelationshipMarketing #PersonalizationAtScale #AIinHealthcare #CustomerExperience #ServiceAsSoftware #HealthTech #PatientCommunication #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareInnovation #DigitalHealth #PatientEngagement #HIPAA #PatientCare Levitate.ai Download the transcript here

He emphasizes the importance of in-person gatherings for spiritual growth and the dangers of relying solely on digital connections. Pigg argues that true community involves shared experiences, relationships, and accountability, which cannot be replicated through online platforms. He encourages listeners to engage with their local churches and foster genuine relationships to fulfill their spiritual needs.TakeawaysTechnology can connect us, but only a gathered community can provide spiritual formation. The digital church mimics community without forming authentic relationships.Biblical community is about sharing life together, not just consuming content.Spiritual growth happens in close proximity to other believers. The church is called the body of Christ, and we need each other to grow.Online church makes it easy to consume without contributing. Each person in the church has a role to play in the community.Christianity is meant to be lived out, not just downloaded. If no one notices your absence, you may not be truly engaged in community. We need to recapture a biblical vision for community.Sound bites"Technology has made us more connected than ever.""The digital church is a lie. As we step into a new year, I decided to begin with something close to my heart — connection. This solo episode is all about how we can start 2026 by building and strengthening R.E.A.L. relationships: those built on trust, appreciation, and genuine human care.A personal story from my husband's recent surgery reminded me that kindness and connection show up in unexpected ways, and that people remember how we make them feel. From that experience grew this reflection on the R.E.A.L. Connection System, the framework I teach to help people and businesses stay connected in meaningful ways:Refresh. Engage. Appreciate. Leverage. In this episode, I walk through each of these pillars and how they show up in real life, from refreshing your LinkedIn presence, to engaging intentionally online and offline, to showing appreciation in ways that leave a lasting impression.Key TakeawaysRefresh your presence so your online identity reflects who you are today, not who you were years ago.Engage with intention — show up where your people are and participate meaningfully.Appreciate authentically — small gestures can create emotional anchors that last for years.Leverage relationships — trust creates opportunity, and every introduction or referral begins with connection.Choose one pillar to focus on this year — start simple and stay consistent. When you build your business from a place of genuine care, everything else unfolds more naturally.I'd love to hear how you're applying the R.E.A.L. principles in your business. Connect with me and share one small way you're refreshing, engaging, appreciating, or leveraging relationships this month and if you'd like to explore how to implement the R.E.A.L. Connection System in your business, please reach out. What happens when you stop trying to be “good” and start listening to your body? In this intimate and eye-opening conversation, Aideen welcomes back empowerment coach Julie Vander Meulen to explore the hidden rules of Good Girl Syndrome—how it frays our nervous systems, shapes our relationships, and quietly erodes our joy.Through real stories and practical, compassionate tools, Julie shares how a single word like“ouch” can soften conflict, why pausing to feel fear can change the entire direction of a conversation, and how circling back later can repair moments where panic once shut everything down. Together, we dig into the deeper roots: why so many of us confuse praise with love, why criticism can feel like exile, and how gentle self-acceptance practices can rebuild inner safety.Julie offers grounded rituals for reclaiming your worth: mirror moments, affectionate self-talk, and giving yourself rest without permission slips. We challenge achievement as the measure of value and offer a truer anchor: your essence is worthy by existing. From that truth, your voice softens, your boundaries strengthen, and connection becomes a place of honesty rather than performance. And then there's joy. Joy as a practice, not a prize. If happiness feels far away, begin with a memory of laughter and let your body remember. Reclaim small delights you once dismissed as unproductive: music that moves you, simple meals, playful imitation. In a world that hurts, joy isn't denial—it's fuel. When we allow ourselves to feel fully and show up fully, we become safer for each other. If this conversation resonates, subscribe, share it with someone who needs permission to be imperfect, and leave a review so more people can find their way back to their own voice. Have you ever wondered whether your biggest roadblock is not the idea itself, but the way people see you before you ever open your mouth? This week, we take a very human turn on the Innovation Storytellers Show as I sit down with Lirone Glikman, CEO, global business development leader, and the author behind The Super Connectors Playbook.  Lirone has spent two decades helping people understand something many of us overlook. Your brand is already setting the tone for every meeting, every pitch, and every moment when you try to move an innovation forward. Our conversation moves from the deeply personal to the highly practical. Lirone shares how she teaches leaders to understand the strengths and values that truly define them, how to find the gap between who you believe you are and how others read you, and why authenticity paired with strategy is the foundation for any successful relationship at work.  My guest explains her six-pillar approach to becoming a super connector, and shows how innovators can use these principles to navigate corporate silos, involve the right allies early, and communicate with greater clarity and presence. Her stories bring workplace dynamics to life, from collaborating with overloaded teams to protecting your ideas in rooms where voices can be overshadowed. We also talk about the future. Lirone offers a candid view on how AI is reshaping personal branding, how to use these tools without losing your human signature, and why relationships remain the real currency inside complex organisations. For listeners working in innovation, product, or transformation roles, this conversation provides the language to understand your place in the system and the practical steps to raise your visibility intentionally. So the question becomes, what story is your brand telling before you even enter the room, and how ready are you to shape it with purpose?
