It's the school holidays in Australia and we are all taking a well-deserved break. Today I thought that I would share a snippet of a discussion that I had with the brilliant Dan Haesler. Many years ago, in my first leadership position in a school, I worked with Dan. He was so supportive, kind and encouraging. Since then, I have followed his work closely and it is a constant source of inspiration. In this snippet, we talked about how to create the conditions to help people change, a growth mindset and how we can reframe failure. Republican a-holes keep voting against bipartisan bills that help people. Matt Gaetz, Florida's top diddler, and Boebert E. Lee blew through security at the Capitol refusing to be screened before attending Zelenskyy's speech. Human impersonator Rand Paul blocked a bill to ensure pregnant folks have rights at work. Idiotic Repubs in the House voted against a bill to protect against human trafficking. During his campaign, openly gay Representative-Elect George Santos didn't disclose his divorce from a woman. West Point finally got rid of its dumb confederacy trophies. Members of Journey are at war with their keyboardist who insists on playing their band's songs at Trump events. In a When Animals Get Pissed segment, the Crabs learned about a highly venomous brown snake on the run at an Australian airport. Film and TV icon, Samuel L. Jackson, who has yet to win an Oscar, shared his taste in adult entertainment on Twitter. GOP wanker Kevin McCarthy might not have enough votes to be the speaker.

This week we take a TIMEOUT with Shan Foster basketball legend, the all-time leader in both points and three-pointers made at Vanderbilt University, drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in 2008. Today Shan Foster is Co-Founder and CEO of Fostering Healthy Solutions committed to taking the lessons he learned on and off the court to inspire others. My guest this week is Dr. Nicole LePera. In this episode, I've got my dear friend, Dr. Nicole LePera, The Holistic Psychologist, to do a dive into our personal and professional experiences in the world of mental health, kids, and parenting. We talk about how we've come to understand mental health diagnoses and treatment differently over time, what we need to do to improve mental health for ourselves and children, how we can be better parents to our kids and ourselves, and much more! When the two of us get together, there's never a shortage of topics so we go into other favorites as well, like what it means to be a conscious participant, dealing with information overload vs. the implementation gap, the concept of reparenting, and of course, her new workbook (which is amazing!), How to Meet Your Self. Dr. Nicole LePera is trained in clinical psychology at Cornell University, the New School for Social Research and the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis. She's the author of the #1 NYT bestselling book, How to Do the Work, and the podcast host of SelfHealers Soundboard. As a clinical psychologist in private practice, Dr. Nicole often found herself frustrated by the limitations of traditional psychotherapy. Wanting more for her patients and herself, she began a journey to develop a united philosophy of mental, physical and spiritual health that equips people with the tools necessary to heal themselves. Dr. Nicole is the creator of the SelfHealers movement, where people from around the world are joining together in a community to take healing into their own hands. In 2019, she founded SelfHealers Circle, the first virtual self-guided global healing membership. SelfHealer Circle has members in over 60 countries who heal as a collective. Her latest workbook, How to Meet Your Self, was just released (December 2022). For this week on the Crossing Borders podcast, we're revisiting one of our greatest hits episodes featuring Pedro Moura, Co-Founder, and CEO of Flourish Fi. We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we didPedro Moura moved from Natal, Brazil to the US at a young age, overcoming many challenges while always trying to build a better future for himself, his family and his region. His perseverance and grit guided him to create a company that he is truly passionate about. In this episode of Crossing Borders, Pedro tells the story of his career path and how taking a risk on what he really believed in led him to found Flourish, a B2B SaaS company that empowers people to establish positive money habits. In this episode, I sat down with Pedro to discuss how he landed on the idea for Flourish, what companies can do to attract foreign talent, and how to think of a business from a global perspective.Finding a fit in financial inclusionPedro's story is truly inspirational. He moved to Northern California from Brazil when he was young, and his mother worked tirelessly for the family. Pedro attended UC Davis, studying Economics and International Relations, then venturing into Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley. However, he soon realized the position was not the best fit for him. After joining Opportun, a startup dedicated to making financial services more accessible, Pedro realized his passion for financial inclusion and decided to start Flourish. Listen to this episode of Crossing Borders to learn more about Pedro's career path and what led him to Flourish. Attracting talent overseasA key part of Pedro's story was his decision to ‘cross a border' to build something great. With talent today more mobile than ever before, some countries are still more hesitant than others to recruit from out-of-country. Despite political immigration boundaries, the culture of international collaboration is healthy and thriving. Find out more about the opportunities that lie in hiring across borders in this episode of Crossing Borders.Chasing your passionWhile Pedro was still working at the bank, he saw a TV program that inspired him to learn more about companies that were driven by social issues: specifically, the disparity between the Latin American community and the world of financial services spoke to him. This experience sparked Pedro's curiosity and led him to Opportun and then to founding Flourish. Learn more about how Pedro discovered his passion in this episode of Crossing Borders.Pedro Moura's story is inspiring in more ways than one. Adapting to a new environment at a young age and thriving required perseverance and hard work. By following his passion, he took several career risks to serve the Latin American community. Join us to learn his story and what he is building at Flourish. New 2022 - Does Earthing Really Help People Heal From Different Ailments? Clinton Ober• http://www.UltimateLongevity.com • Book – Earthing: The Most Important Health Discovery Ever? #ClintonOber #Grounding #GoundingMovementClinton Ober is the innovator behind the Grounding Movement and author of Earthing: The Most Important Health Discovery Ever? This book introduces readers to the landmark discovery that living in contact with the Earth's natural surface charge - being grounded - naturally discharges and prevents chronic inflammation in the body. This effect has massive health implications because of the well-established link between chronic inflammation and all chronic diseases, including the diseases of aging and the aging process itself.Clinton, First learned about grounding when installing Cable TV systems in Billings, Montana in the early 1960s. A decade later, he formed Telecrafter Corporation that specialized in proper grounding of cable installations for safety and TV signal stability. In the 1980s, he turned his attention to the developing computer industry and partnered with McGraw-Hill to distribute live digital news services. This Led to the development cable modems with the proper system grounding. From his years expertise in the grounding of hardware technology, he developed the working hypothesis on how: Grounding the human body to the Earth could normalize the functioning of all of the body's systems. The idea about how the body utilizes the earth's electrical potential and free electrons to maintain its internal electrical stability, normalizing all of its self-regulating and self-healing systems.Over the past twenty years has worked extensively on health benefits of grounding the human body, which have shown impressive improvements in…inflammation, sleep, pain & stiffness, circulation, blood pressure, cortisol, stress, depression, anxiety, tiredness, fatigue, energy, mood, blood glucose, blood viscosity, immunity, thyroid function, metabolism, wound healing, HRV, vagal tone, serum electrolytes, athletic performance & recovery, and more.Grounding has now become a massive international movement — causing people to shed their shoes and reconnect electrically to the surface of the Earth. To Contact Clinton Ober go to UltimateLongevity.com CLICK HERE - To Checkout Our MEMBERSHIP CLUB: http://www.realtruthtalks.com • Social Media ChannelsFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TRTAHConferenceInstagram : https://www.instagram.com/therealtruthabouthealth/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/RTAHealth Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-real-truth-about-health-conference/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheRealTruthAboutHealth • Check out our Podcasts Visit us on Apple Podcast and Itunes search: The Real Truth About Health Free 17 Day Live Online Conference Podcast Amazon: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/23a037be-99dd-4099-b9e0-1cad50774b5a/real-truth-about-health-live-online-conference-podcastSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0RZbS2BafJIEzHYyThm83J Google:https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5zaW1wbGVjYXN0LmNvbS8yM0ZqRWNTMg%3D%3DStitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/real-truth-about-health-live-online-conference-podcastAudacy: https://go.audacy.com/partner-podcast-listen-real-truth-about-health-live-online-conference-podcastiHeartRadio: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-real-truth-about-health-li-85932821/ Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/us/show/2867272 Reason: https://reason.fm/podcast/real-truth-about-health-live-online-conference-podcast • Other Video ChannelsYoutube:https://www.youtube.com/c/TheRealTruthAboutHealthVimeo:https://vimeo.com/channels/1733189Rumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-1111513 Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TRTAHConference/videos/?ref=page_internal DailyMotion: https://www.dailymotion.com/TheRealTruthAboutHealth BitChute: https://www.bitchute.com/channel/JQryXTPDOMih/ Disclaimer:Medical and Health information changes constantly. Would you help change a stranger's tire? How about if they offered you $20? Or, what if instead of money, they offered you some candy? We often think these types of exchanges are financial in nature - but this study explored how there is actually a different type of exchange going on here - a social exchange. When we help a friend move some furniture, invite friends over for dinner, help a stranger out who is in need - these are social exchanges in a social market, one that is separate from the financial market. And what's even more interesting is that if you bring money into the social exchange, it falls apart. James Heyman and Dan Ariely explored this phenomena in their landmark study called, “Effort for Payment: A Tale of Two Markets” and is the basis for Kurt and Tim taking a deep look in this Groove Track. Listen to find out the backstory to the study and the implications from the findings. At Traders Point, we're all about fostering life-giving relationships with one another. One of the ways we do this at Traders Point is through small groups. The people in Acts 2 of the Bible gathered consistently and were in relationship, even when it wasn't convenient. These relationships gave them life! Being a part of a small group surrounds you with community, accountability, and new ways to grow in your faith.Aaron Brockett • We Are Traders Point • Acts 9:4-19CONNECT WITH US!Engage with this message: https://tpcc.org/messagesVisit our website: https://tpcc.orgWe believe in the power of prayer: https://tpcc.org/prayer Instagram: https://instagram.com/traderspointcc/Twitter: https://twitter.com/TradersPointCCFacebook: https://facebook.com/TradersPointCC/
Ukraine has dismissed reports it's now open to negotiations with Russia. Talking to Radio Free Europe, a presidential adviser said Ukraine isn't up for negotiations until all Russian troops leave the country. Ukranians are being told to brace for more blackouts in Kyiv and other regions as the national grid operator seeks to reduce the strain on damaged energy infrastructure. A New Zealand aid organisation, ReliefAid, is heading back to Ukraine today with thousands of supplies to help people brave the upcoming winter. Communications director Anne Bulley spoke to our producer Samuel Wat.
Every now and then, it's important to stop and take a look at what we do and why we do it so we don't drift off course. It's not enough to say we've always done things a certain way. This is a message about reevaluating and assessing as a church what God has called us to, and what He's calling us to next. One thing's for sure: Helping people know God is the primary motivator in everything our church does. As each week builds upon the last, let this be a series that helps you decide if Traders Point is the church for you, and if it is, how you can be all in.Aaron Brockett • We are Traders Point • John 17CONNECT WITH US!Engage with this message: https://tpcc.org/messagesVisit our website: https://tpcc.orgWe believe in the power of prayer: https://tpcc.org/prayer Instagram: https://instagram.com/traderspointcc/Twitter: https://twitter.com/TradersPointCCFacebook: https://facebook.com/TradersPointCC/

Andrea Courey is an award-winning entrepreneur, an author, a speaker, and a sound healing meditation guide who became a caregiver to her 28-year-old daughter Chloe when she fell ill with cancer. About six weeks after Chloe's death, Andrea sat down to write her a letter - the kind of letter a mother writes to help express her grief. Fully expecting to burn the letter upon completion, her world changed when Chloe answered back. There began a five-month long conversation touching on everything from what Chloe was experiencing out-of-the-body to 12 Steps to Bridging Across the Veil. The result was Andrea's first book, Conversations with Chloe - A Mother and Daughter Dialogue Across the Veil. When she wanted to understand more about how grieving mothers handle this huge loss, Andrea joined Helping Parents Heal and from those conversations came her second book, the book she wished she could have read when Chloe passed, titled: Magical Thinking...not! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/griefandrebirth/support

Thinking Those You Lead Need To Take More Action To Be Successful Is The Worst Advice You Can Give Them!I can see why you'd think that.... You have a road map you've followed that has helped you accomplish something... OR you've been able to help someone else achieve that thing in the past.If that worked though, all that they would have had to do was a google search for the information. If all they needed was information, they would have had that thing already. And if you keep telling them what they need to do, not only will you get discouraged or resentful, they will too!So what's a different way to become more effective at helping others achieve more results? That was the topic of today's podcast!

Her latest research on employee activism was nominated for the Thinkers50 Breakthrough Idea Award. Her most recent book with John Higgins is titled Speak Up: Say What Needs to Be Said and Hear What Needs to Be Heard*. Many leaders consider what they need to do in order to speak truth to others, but rarely focus on how to make it easier for people to speak to them. In this conversation, Megan and I explore what leaders can do in order to hear what needs to be heard. We share several tactics that will make it easier for others to surface what you need to hear. Key Points Speaking up and listening up go hand in hand. Power always affects what gets said and what gets heard. A key checkpoint is whether or not you really value the opinion of others. Where you have conversations can make a massive difference on how comfortable the other party is in surfacing an important message for you to hear. Leaders who have margin in their daily schedules create space for the right moment to hear truth. Proactively invite challenge and debate through specific invitations. One example: “What do you know that I need to know, but will never be told?” Resources Mentioned Speak Up: Say What Needs to Be Said and Hear What Needs to Be Heard* by Megan Reitz and John Higgins Interview Notes Download my interview notes in PDF format (free membership required).
