Beer and a Movie with the Weast Side Boys!

The Room is a 2003 American independent romantic drama film starring, written, directed, produced, and executive produced by Tommy Wiseau, who co-stars with Juliette Danielle and Greg Sestero. Set in San Francisco, the film is centered around a melodramatic love triangle between amiable banker Johnny (Wiseau), his deceptive fiancée Lisa (Danielle) and his conflicted best friend Mark (Sestero). A significant portion of the film is dedicated to a series of unrelated subplots, most of which involve at least one supporting character and are left unresolved due to the film's inconsistent narrative structure. The work was reportedly intended to be semi-autobiographical in nature; according to Wiseau, the title alludes to the potential of a room to be the site of both good and bad events. The stage play from which the film is derived was so-called due to its events taking place entirely in a single room.

Today was fun. I had Lisa Danielle on and we've been trying to arrange a podcast for about three years. One day and she's down here in Tucson and she came in and we just had a great talk. I've represented Lisa for almost 20 years or maybe even a little bit longer... but we've never had an in-depth conversation about her backstory. You see, that's one of the beautiful things about this podcast, is that through interviewing these individuals, I get a deeper sense of who the person is and why they do what they do. All too often there's this storyline that isn't all peaches and cream. It's incredibly difficult to get to the point of being able to make a living as an artist. Lisa even speaks about times where she couldn't get things sold and she's having to work at a nursing home. At the end of the day that's what you do if you really want to be an artist. You absolutely must be willing to put yourself in those positions to allow you to continue to create art.Lisa Danielle is one of those people that did it. So, it's a fascinating interview. In fact, it went for over 2 hours and it was like a time warp because I didn't even realize it had gone that long, which is always wonderful. So this will be a two-parter and this is part two of Lisa Danielle on Art Dealer Diaries Podcast episode 222.

We know a lot of you are starting to book trips now that international travel has opened again, and a lot of you have written to us recently asking for tips on travelling with kids - so here you go! How did Lisa know when she ready to have a baby given her very aspirational lifestyle? Was she worried that having a baby would drop a bomb on that? Was Lisa pregnant when Covid hit? Did Lisa have a planned c-section? How can friends and family help during c-section recovery? Did Lisa ever toy with the idea of not showing her baby's face on social media? Is Lisa as 'put together' as she appears on social media? Did breastfeeding come easy to Lisa? Lisa talks about travelling with a bub; what are some worthwhile things to pack for a flight How did Lisa deal with jet lag and her bub's sleep schedule? How does Lisa feel about having a second child? And SOO MUCH MORE!   Beyond the Bump is a podcast brought to you by Jayde Couldwell and Sophie Pearce! A podcast targeted at mums, just like you! Yep and that's when our beloved Kiwi Co Panda crates come in handy!  That they do! For those who haven't heard us rabbit on about KiwiCo's Panda Crates before (first of all, where have you been?) Second of all, they are subscription boxes designed for 0-2 year olds that are filled with age appropriate toys and activities that all have a research-based approach to play!  Yep, what's better than throwing a box of activities to your kids knowing they are learning as you put your feet up.  I'll tell you what's better, the fact that every second month, 2 months worth of activities arrive straight to your doorstep too!!  Its brilliant! Parenting smarter not harder - that's my motto!  Exactly! Goldie has been loving the peg puzzle which helps her to learn shapes, build her fine motor skills and explore problem solving all at once!  What a clever cookie. Yumi loves that one too. She has also been learning shapes through the squishy shapes and when she is over that uses them as pillows for her dolls which is very cute and keeps her busy for even longer!!  Win win!
