1974 studio album by The Spinners
POPULARITY
The Spinners' story is one of perseverance, evolution, and timeless music that continues to resonate with fans of Motown, Philly Soul, funk, and classic R&B. Their smooth harmonies, intricate vocal arrangements, and signature choreography have made them one of the most enduring groups in soul music history. From their early days in Detroit with Motown to their meteoric rise with Atlantic Records, The Spinners are true legends of the genre.Formed in the '50s in Michigan, The Spinners came together as a vocal group determined to make their mark in the burgeoning R&B scene. They found themselves signed to Motown Records in the '60s, a label that was home to acts like The Temptations, The Supremes, and Marvin Gaye. But The Spinners never quite achieved the same success as their labelmates during their time there. They struggled to break through in a roster filled with some of the biggest names in soul music.Their fate changed in the early '70s when they made a decision that would define their career. Leaving Motown, the band joined Atlantic, under the guidance of producer Thom Bell. With Bell at the helm, The Spinners recorded a string of hits that defined an era. Songs like I'll Be Around, Could It Be I'm Falling in Love, One of a Kind (Love Affair), Mighty Love, and Then Came You—their duet with Dionne Warwick—all became massive hits. Their run of success continued throughout the '70s, with classic tracks like Games People Play and Rubberband Man. The group became known not only for their vocal prowess but also for their stage presence. Their synchronized dance moves and sharp suits made them one of the most exciting live acts of the era.As time passed, The Spinners underwent several lineup changes. They continued to tour and perform, keeping their music fresh for new generations of fans. Even as the music industry evolved, The Spinners remained a staple of classic soul, their songs continuing to be played on R&B stations and featured in movies, commercials, and TV shows.Amidst the transitions, one of the most significant moments in the group's more recent history was the inclusion of Jessie Peck. A longtime fan of The Spinners, Jessie grew up admiring them as a child, wishing one day to be a part of their act. Before joining the group, Jessie had already made a name for himself as a talented vocalist with a deep appreciation for classic R&B. His rich baritone and smooth delivery made him a natural fit for The Spinners' sound, and when the opportunity arose for him to join the legendary group, it was a dream come true.Jessie's arrival injected new energy into the group while maintaining the signature style that fans had come to love. He stepped into his role with the utmost respect for the foundation laid by those who came before him. His passion for the music, combined with his natural talent and stage presence, made him a seamless addition to the lineup. As a performer, Jessie embraced The Spinners' commitment to delivering not just great music but an unforgettable show. The Spinners have always been about more than just singing—they're entertainers in the truest sense, combining tight harmonies with choreographed moves that keep audiences engaged from the first note to the last.Even after decades in the industry, The Spinners continue to thrive, bringing their soulful sound to audiences around the world. Their influence can be heard in countless artists who followed in their footsteps, and their ability to bridge generations of music lovers is a testament to the timeless nature of their songs. Jessie Peck's presence in the group is a reflection of their commitment to excellence, ensuring that The Spinners remain not just a nostalgic act but a living, breathing force in the world of soul, R&B, and classic funk.Jessie Peck joins us this week to share some amazing stories about The Spinners.#classichits #r&b #musiclegends

We've had a lot of fun in Season 11 of ATTT. We've met a lot of awesome people and had many of them on our show for the first time. In that spirit, we'd like to close out with some epic fun. The man behind the big beautiful Nord keyboard that brings the band Mighty Love the essentials is none other than this week's special guest Tim Battig. Tim knows his way around a keyboard, be it piano, organ, or synth; and while the definition of the term "epic" is subjective, Timmah knows his epicness. Making our way through the essential instruments of rock n roll, ATTT is once again poring over another Rolling Stone list - this time it's their 100 Greatest Drummers list - and looking for drummers that don't get the recognition they deserve. To be fair, there isn't a drummer in existence that gets the proper respect they deserve, and so we do our part by counting down the 10 Greatest Underrated Drummers. For this assignment we were lucky enough to land the elusive but charming drummer extraordinaire Sam Cunningham to guest on this very important topic. Our picks run the gamut in styles, eras, and reasons why these drummers are so nasty and deserving of our praise. Southside Tribe!! We are back with another haymaker, speaking on dear brothers and sisters leaving their faith in Christ. There have been a slew of people, local and public figures, who have believed their doubts, taken their leave and left many around them full of questions. Most of y'all know that one of our mantras is "no easy answers", so with that being said, we sit and discuss the nuances of this difficult topic. God has not promised us "all the answers" to life's most difficult questions, here or in eternity. We apologize in advance for the audio! Come rock with us!

This podcast is a review of what the world has been briefed on in "Global Love Revolution" that the nobles of our world have said we are leading on Facebook. This is a call for everyone and all spirits to rise and shine on this Easter Sunday. We have been gifted the complete knowledge of God and we need everyone to play their part in fulfilling Babylon's Bible. We do so by working all things together for the Greatest Good that Gods Law is. Romans 13:10 It's time to prepare our world for the Global Galactic Wedding Party that fulfills the Law of God. Revelation 19:6-9 The only way the world can be saved and ascended from the dimensional fall in the Garden of Eden, is for the Body and Bride of Christ to repent and reconcile the original sin; by restoring Godliness in all that is by redirecting everyone and everything to the greatest Good is. God is Love. All Love and life force is sourced from the Sun of God. And based on our best science, 99.9% of the Universe is made of Plasma. Which is the Love filled emotion that we all feel from the Sun. The moment a critical mass of .03% choose to resonate in the blissful emotion of the Sun's Love, we will enlighten and ascend our world to divine dimensions of immortal and unlimited Godhood. The Great News is that Humans are Sun Gods of Story. {Hu is the God of Word and man is the Sun God Amen Ra} And we are all created to fulfill the greatest Love stories ever known. This is why the law of God climaxes in a Global Galactic Wedding Party that leads us all into the eternal Honeymoon that Heaven is. All we need is the people who have all the power, to believe in and know our most Godly Love stories into being. This is what Humans are created for. The greatest Love stories ever known. We all have soul agreements to come to Earth to enlighten and ascend our world back to divine dimensions of literal Heaven. This is how we all fulfill our roles as the Sun God Saviors that we are all created to be. Teamwork makes our most divine dreams work! Thank you so much for receiving and spreading the Gospel of Heaven on Earth. Now and forevermore... Mighty Love and gratitude to you ~ALL~...

In this episode, we take a step back and look at 'messy' from the mouth and heart of a two year-old. In the end, we find how 'messy' describes us, and our first parents, well. We all lose our way and end up in some or many messes, yet there is a Mighty Love breaking through, with a plan to rescue us when we are helpless to clean ourselves up. It's a heartwarming, and yet so much more, kind of story. My favorite. Listen in!
Intro: “Messy Life. Mighty Love.” Podcast Hello, welcome to the ‘Messy Life. Mighty Love.’ Podcast. I am Abby, your host, storyteller, fellow journeyer and friend. Life is Messy. It’s like that scrumptious lasagna, whose pieces spill out and slide all over and possibly get on fingers and for a little, or not-so-little one, around the mouth, on the shirt and perhaps pants too. But this mess is also full of love. And it’s a mighty love like the one filling the hands and heart which made the lasagna. Life is also messy like manure. To the nose unfamiliar it is simply the stinky poop of a cow. But to someone like me who grew up surrounded by manure on the dairy farm my family worked, it is the smell of home and of a love mightier than the thrones of many kingdoms.Yes, truly, Life IS messy, but it is equally mighty in love. In this Messy, Mighty podcast I want to open my life and ask you to jump right in with me. Whether its scrumptious lasagna or stinky manure, I want to lead you to the love found in every part of our messy lives. When I first thought of starting a podcast, I was going to focus on my most recent, tragically messy journey with bipolar disorder. I was going to push hard into the blood and guts of it and lead you, the listener, to the very real hope I have found amid mental illness. But, when I thought more and prayed, I realized this would be a disservice to you and me. You see, although I have fought hard these past five years and have won true hope, a big part of my healing has come through remembering the whole of my story. It has come through seeing my life like that mighty ‘oak of righteousness’ Isaiah prophesies about for the people of God. It has come through a good God showing me how the soil of my tender little heart which first trusted Him has grown many, many roots branching out below and producing fruit above. Its not a proud thing to see it this way, its an identity-in-God and life in Him which cannot be shaken, come hell or high-water kind of thing. This perspective has been essential for my own healing and I believe, it is essential for your healing too.To understand the dark hand of mental illness, it’s pivotal to recognize how it slices through brains and hearts and spirits building the case that it is all a person is. I know it has done that to me. And nothing was messier then when I ended up in a mental ward in Budapest, Hungary. Then, just one week after my release, we left a life my three kids, husband and I loved one week after I got out of the hospital. It was an unbelievable, tragic mess. And the steel fist of bipolar disorder threatened to level me for good.Yet, I found a precious paradox, the most glorious hope in that mess. A Mighty Love which the depths of hell, and the broken mess of a fallen world could never, ever destroy. And it has emboldened me to grow stronger and stronger as I own my story and look at all the messes of my life, both big and small, and find the mighty love therein. For here, I know, I, and maybe, just maybe, you too, will be healed. So, each Thursday, beginning next week, you will find a new episode. Here I will share a story from my messy life and lead us to the mighty love therein.Whether you struggle with mental illness, like me, or a chronic illness or a rebellious child or strained family relationships or any other kind of deeply painful mess, I hope you will be reminded of times outside of this current mess. Times inside of your story when the love of someone which reflected the mighty love of God, can truly be seen. In this faithfulness, that I partake of through sharing my story, I also offer to you with loving hands. http://abigailalleman.com

This is a message to comfort you during the Christmas season. God is for us and for everything that is good for us, but He is against everything that is bad for us. And here's the conflict: we many times long for things that are not good for us. God wants to bring us what is good and when it's good.

Are you or someone you know in danger of shipwrecked faith? Have our churches been infected with the "imma do me" mentality? The post-modern philosophies of our time have bled into many hearts in the Church, and we have recently seen many Christ-followers "turn back" in the name of "deconstruction" or exploring a different spiritual journey. KB and Ameen take the Word of God to this issue and keep it funky like always. Join us as we break down this unfortunate and all too common phenomenon.
In this stirring survey of descriptions of the manner of love that God has for us, Elder Bryce Lowrance preaches at a Wednesday night joint service of Bethlehem and Zion churches. Though our love toward one another is often haphazard, God’s mighty love is never changing and powerful, and a love that we can rest …

In this episode, we celebrate 150 episodes with a new spin. Polyam Gal Seeks (@Polygalseeks on Twitter) interviews Demetrius (@DemetriusSays) about life, starting a blog, the podcast, life and love. PGS asks the hard-hitting questions: What advice would you give to your younger self? How did your family nurture creativity? Should we teach a class for men on social etiquette? What about witches? We give you a peek at the man behind the microphone, and the journey to A Mighty Love as it stands today. We close out with some listeners shouting out their love: Allison (@allisona15), Mary (@NewYorkCliche), Bianca (@newgirllbianca), and more. Mighty Love Dec 18 - Jason Ashley - Sun Dec 18, 2016 by Balfour Covenant Church
LORENZO was born in Los Angeles, California, but raised in Havana, Florida, a small town outside of Tallahassee, Florida. As a child, he sang in the churches and was an avid listener of Luther Vandross, Peabo Bryson, Michael Jackson, El Debarge, James Brown and Sam Cooke - just to name a few. In high school, Lorenzo was active and competed in sports, making him one of the top cornerbacks in the state of Florida. In 1990, Lorenzo put out his first album, Let Me Show You. The album was released with Alpha International through CEMA Records. The album's title track reached #64 on the R&B charts, while the album's other single "Tic Tok" reached #41. While in Philadelphia working on his first album, Lorenzo had the privilege of working with great "behind the scene" legends such as Joe Tarsia (legendary recording engineer), Mike Tarsia (son of Joe Tarsia-awesome engineer), Joe Jefferson (he wrote "Sadie", "Brandy", "Mighty Love", "Love Don't Love Nobody"...just to name a few), the late John Whitehead (half of McFadden & Whitehead - he wrote "Backstabbers", "Ain't No Stopping Us Now"), Mike Forte (he signed Lorenzo....produced "Gotta Get You Home With Me Tonight" and "Don't Say No Tonight" by Eugene Wilde...he also produced and co-wrote "Dreaming" by Vanessa Williams), Bruce Weeden
