Drew DeArmond of Tider Insider discusses Nick Saban's legacy and the future of the Alabama football program.
Will we know our children when we get to Heaven? Is my child an angel now that he or she has died? Does my child send me signs? Is it possible to "move forward" in our lives without fearing that we're leaving our children behind? Is the best really yet to come? Austin and Valerie DeArmond enjoyed 366 days of blessing with their son Gabriel until the Lord took him to Heaven due to a sudden and unexpected illness. Austin is a gifted and articulate theologian, and Valerie is his equal in wisdom and compassion. In today's continuation of our conversation from last week, we discuss these questions and more. Austin and Valerie DeArmond are the parents of a daughter, Addie, and a son, Gabriel, a joy-filled little boy who was known for his enthusiastic and sloppy open-mouth kisses. Gabe was the life of every party, and he relished that role. Austin and Valerie enjoyed 366 days of blessing with Gabriel until the Lord took him Home following a sudden and unexpected illness. We have a wide-ranging discussion today, discussing sensitive issues such as infertility, adoption, medical mistakes, the vital importance of good theology in grief, marriage after child loss, and parenting a young child who's grieving. The DeArmonds are less than a year into their loss, but God has gifted them with a great deal of wisdom … I believe you'll be blessed by listening in. Austin's blog is full of wonderful articles. The volume pedal was the first effect device created for the guitar. They were introduced in the mid-1930s, being offered by most major electric guitar makers, including Gibson & Rickenbacker, and pickup maker DeArmond. Although it was initially mainly used by steel guitarists from the 1930s-1960s, the 70s brought us 3 musicians that made it an important tool for guitarists, Reggie Young, Larry Carlton, and Mark Knopfler. These players used the volume pedal as an effect on numerous hit recordings, which caused it to finally take its place as a "must have" pedal. We also look at some important factors that one should consider when buying a volume pedal. Issues such as tone suck, buffers, pot taper, and more modern pot-less designs.Spotify Playlisthttps://open.spotify.com/playlist/7Am...Gear Used:2008 R9 Les PaulAmp:1965 Deluxe Reverb with a GA-SC64 speakerEffects used:Amp reverb, Line 6 Echo Park, Dunlop Volume X#askzac #volumepedal #zacchildsSupport the show

The SEC is one year away from hosting something of a Big 12 reunion, but don't expect Missouri and Texas A&M to offer any welcoming hugs for their old conference rivals, Oklahoma and Texas. The Longhorns were a polarizing presence in the Big 12, and their actions more than a decade ago (along with Oklahoma's maneuvers, to a lesser extent), contributed to Missouri and A&M leaving the conference in favor of the SEC. On today's episode, host Blake Toppmeyer is joined by PowerMizzou.com's Gabe DeArmond to assess what OU and Texas' SEC arrival will mean for Texas A&M and Missouri. DeArmond explains why feelings from the Missouri and Aggies side of the aisle remain frosty toward Texas and Oklahoma. Later in the episode, the Clarion Ledger's Stefan Krajisnik joins to assess what he saw from SEC quarterbacks at the Manning Passing Academy. Two quarterbacks, in particular, caught his eye, both from SEC East teams.
