Gossips and Critics…How to handle them and not be one? Our world is now filled with so many platforms to give an opinion, to gossip, criticise and be nasty and negative. How to handle it with style and respect and never be one of the negative, opinionated nasties?
Gossips, Fights, Conflicts, Trolls, Memes, Negativity are sure interesting BUT...
A woman named Ashley walks into the emergency room with strange injuries. Bruises all over her body. Scrape marks on knees and bite marks on her face. The nurses don't feel comfortable with her explanation of how she sustained such severe injuries. The only answer that makes sense to them… is abuse. Severe abuse. A beating. They call the police to report it - and by the end of the night, the patient is dead. Now the police are left to investigate - her boyfriend. Her affair partner from work. Her lover's girlfriend. And even his little 17-year-old sister. 4 different people with connections with Ashely. 4 different reactions to the news of her death. And 2 responsible for killing her. We hear about what happened to Herod and his people. With Jesus doing prodigious deeds like miracles and raising the dead, they had to find an explanation for it. Who was He? Some talk about Him being John the Baptist but Herod reiterates that it could not be because he had had him decapitated. Others were talking about Him being an Elijah having returned and so forth. We should address rumors and talks by studying and researching, especially nowadays because there is a lot of misinformation or outright lies peddled as the truth. They call it gaslighting in the US.

Episode 4 Britney discusses her romantic life with Jax – or the lack thereof. We chat about Jax's reputation and ponder whether he is uninterested in Britney or struggling with his own performance issues. Observing the men cooking, cleaning, and tending to the children is refreshing...... but wonder how they haven't heard of love languages. Which might explain a lot. Kristen's message about secrets: threat or friendship? We contemplate whether Kristen will ever mature. Episode 5 Girls' Day prompts concerns about Brittany's drinking habits. Should she prioritize her health more following her doctor's caution about excessive drinking? Gossips about Michelle and Jesse's relationship begin to surface. The authenticity of the rumors and the future direction of their relationship raise questions. Experiencing baby blues? We share our postpartum experiences and hope Nia receives the necessary love and support to feel better soon! Episode 6 Kristen is planning to have a baby but hasn't decided on the baby's living arrangements yet. She also undergoes a check-up to ensure everything is in order. Should Luke also consider getting a check-up? Jax confided in Britney about his stress and anxieties, and her response caught us by surprise, making us wonder if we are leaning towards supporting team Jax for the first time. We are curious about Jax's hair loss. Is it really happening, or is it just a cowlick? What could be the underlying reason behind this change? We have our suspicions about this situation. Was Jesse spending too much time with Gabby, the young, beautiful, blonde, selling merch for Burning Man, and why did Michelle feel jealous if she doesn't want to be with him? During dinner, a heated argument erupts between the couples. We couldn't help but notice a wardrobe malfunction and Kristen's tendency to spread misinformation. Episode 7 Is Kristen bringing Jesse and Michelle closer together, or is it merely a distraction from their strained relationship? Jesse is starting to notice changes in Michelle's behavior, like her reduced social media activity and hiding her phone. Luke has a candid conversation with Kristen about how her misinformation leads to trouble. Will she heed his advice and stop apologizing... Or not? Jason and Janet babysit Cruz, the experience was a small taste of what parenthood might be like. Jax makes an effort to surprise Brittney with a night out featuring a chef and a hotel, but things take an unexpected turn! Let's discuss our thoughts on this turn of events. Follow us at j.a.m.session
Here are some tips to dispel the myths of the miserable divorce, how to talk to children and promote a good divorce, which is one in which the children come first: ● Show your success and happiness with your head held high. Attend your children's events and school meetings with your ex, gracefully acknowledge your children's time spent with your ex as an important time for development for your children, and focus on self-care for yourself. ● Half-truths about your divorce can mutate and spin out of your reach. Share your situation with a limited number of people, especially at work and among friends too, so that you can control the flow of information and protect your children from misinformation about the details of your divorce. ● Children are impressionable regardless of their age. When telling children, generally less is more and simpler is better. In the best divorces Sarah has witnessed, the children are unaware of why their parents got divorced. ● Gossips fuel the myth of the inadequate divorced parent. Surround yourself with “energy givers,” Sarah says, not energy takers, which is what gossips are. Don't imbibe them. Sarah offers inspiring personal stories of how she worked with her ex-husband to structure their divorce, and she provides sage advice for taking practical steps to work toward a good divorce. Welcome to Day 2217 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Wisdom Nuggets – Proverbs 11:9-15 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2217 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2217 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. In today's Wisdom Nugget, I'm excited to continue our journey through the book of Proverbs, where we explore its timeless wisdom. Today, we're diving into Proverbs 11:9-15, from the New Living Translation. So, get ready to lace up your hiking boots as we uncover the guidance of wisdom in these verses. Pause… In Proverbs 11:9-15, we continue our exploration of the characteristics and outcomes of living a life of wisdom. These verses provide valuable insights into how wisdom influences our interactions and relationships. Verse 9: “With their words, the godless destroy their friends, but knowledge will rescue the righteous.” This verse opens with a powerful contrast. The godless use destructive words that harm their friendships, while knowledge, which is often a result of wisdom, rescues the righteous. It underscores the importance of our words and the value of knowledge in building and preserving relationships. Background Music Transition Verse 10: “The whole city celebrates when the godly succeed; they shout for joy when the wicked die.” Here, we see the impact of righteousness on a community. The success of the godly brings joy to the whole city, whereas the demise of the wicked is a cause for celebration. It highlights the positive influence of living a life of righteousness on our surroundings. Pause… Verse 11: “Upright citizens are good for a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart.” This verse further emphasizes the positive influence of upright citizens in a city. They contribute to its prosperity. In contrast, the wicked's words and actions have a destructive effect, tearing the city apart. It underscores the importance of our actions in shaping our communities. Pause… Verse 12: “It is foolish to belittle one's neighbor; a sensible person keeps quiet.” We encounter a familiar theme here—the folly of belittling one's neighbor. Sensibility involves keeping quiet rather than demeaning others. It reinforces the value of respect and kindness in our interactions with those around us. Pause… Verse 13: “A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.” This verse addresses the issue of gossip and trustworthiness. Gossips spreads secrets, often causing harm, while trustworthy individuals can be relied upon to keep confidence. It reminds us of the importance of discretion and trust in our relationships. Pause… Verse 14: “Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers.” These verses highlight the significance of leadership and counsel in the context of a nation. Wise leadership is essential for a...

Lutheran Preaching and Teaching from St. John Random Lake, Wisconsin
If the law of God or the commandments have helped us see that we do not live up to the standards and have no right to judge others, then they can aid us further in a matter that is even more important. They can become for us "a tutor to Christ" (Gal 3:24). They can teach us to begin to listen seriously to the Gospel. He who allows what compelling reason God has for judging him will begin to listen freshly to the Savior who does not judge—not because Jesus needs forgiveness and not because he had no occasion to judge, but because he has taken upon himself his brothers' destiny and has died in place of sinners. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/stjohnrandomlake/support
In movies and TV shows, women in the workplace are often pitted against each other to ramp up the drama and tension among characters. Think Meryl Streep's fabulous “Miranda Priestley” in The Devil Wears Prada. But does is this kind of “Queen Bee” behavior true in real life? Or more of an exaggeration? And f it is true, why would women sabotage other women in the workplace?During this episode, Aileen and Glenda delve into the controversial topic of workplace “Queen Bees”, discussing research on the topic that can be both enlightening and infuriating. We also share highlights from our fascinating conversation with Andie Kramer, who is an accomplished attorney, a nationally recognized authority on gender equality, a best-selling author on the subject and someone who's worked tirelessly to increase women's leadership opportunities.Andie and her husband and co-author Al Harris have written three award-winning books: Beyond Bias: The PATH to Ending Gender Inequality at Work; Breaking Through Bias: Communication Techniques for Women to Succeed at Work; and It's Not You, It's the Workplace: Women's Conflict at Work and the Bias That Built It. On November 1st, New York City's workers woke up to a new reality: every job listing for work that could be done in one of the five boroughs now had a stated salary band. Gossips rejoiced. But who does the law really benefit? On this week's podcast, hosts Soumaya Keynes, Mike Bird and Alice Fulwood look at the pros and cons of pay transparency. First, they hear from Harvard Business School's Zoe Cullen who says wages fell by 2% on average when firms opened up about pay. Then, they speak to Joel Gascoigne, the founder of online marketing firm Buffer, who went further than companies in New York and published each of his employees' salaries, by name, on the company's website (it lists his salary as $298,958). And then they go to Norway, where incomes have always been publicly available - and hear about the unexpected consequences on happiness when you can easily see what your friends, neighbours and enemies earn. This week on The Bizzimumzi Podcast, Ashley is joined in conversation by Sarah Armstrong. Sarah is the VP of Global Marketing operations for Google and author of 'The Mom's Guide to a Good Divorce: What to think when children are involved.' Sarah has been on a mission to help dispel myths about divorce, especially as they affect women, and those myths persist despite widespread acceptance of all kinds of blended and nontraditional families. Sarah warns that the stigma of divorce remains, especially for women. Often in the workplace but also on the playground. Sarah offers practical tips and advice for moms striving to create a good divorce and to buffet stereotypes about divorce. In this Bizzimumzi podcast episode we discuss: Dispel the myth of the miserable divorcée by showing your success and happiness with your head held high. Attend your children's events and school meetings with your ex, gracefully acknowledge your children's time spent with your ex as an important time for development for your children, and focus on self-care for yourself. Half-truths about your divorce can mutate and spin out of your reach. Share your situation with a limited number of people, especially at work and among friends too, so that you can control the flow of information and protect your children from misinformation about the details of your divorce. Gossips fuel the myth of the inadequate divorcée. Surround yourself with “energy givers,” Sarah says, not energy takers, which is what gossip is. Don't imbibe them. The media loves an ugly divorce, which fuels the myth that all divorces are ugly. Dispelling this myth is essential to the health and welfare of the children involved. Sarah offers personal stories of how she herself has worked to dispel the myths of being a divorced mom and provides sage advice for taking practical steps to work toward a good divorce.
