Niki also curates Souq Record's glistening annual compilation, Mirror for the Sun. From her days expressing herself on the guitar, raiding her parents' records, and exploring the worlds of grunge, jazz or psychedelic rock, and traditional Persian music, she's carried over the knack for complementing dark and light frequencies, gliding in between without shying away from diving in. Niki travels with a spring in her steps, leaving her mark at spaces like Fusion Festival, Kater Blau, Village Underground Londong, Shelter Amsterdam, Woomoon Ibiza and Storytellers Tulum, The Cityfox Experience, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, and regularly at Gorg-O-Mish in her native Vancouver, where mountains, ocean and city converge. Her down to earth and steady love for sound has shaped a willingness to always adapt to the situation at hand, making the best out of it on a musical and a human level.

Growing up on a musical diet of Rock, Blues and Reggae provided by her parents’ record collection, Niki is hard to pin down musically. Inspired by her family’s love of music, she took up the Guitar at the age of 11. It was only a few years later that she started composing her own acoustic songs. Also it was during this time that Niki got introduced to the sounds of electronic music and she got undeniably hooked instantly. It was around the same time that Niki started tiptoeing around DJ sets, learning the basics. Being exposed to different music genres, cultures and subcultures, her experiences has served her as a funnel and catalyst for her creativity, which she then translates into arrangements that convey what she has felt in her life with equal intensity and atmosphere. Today, her sets act like musical journeys that invite the listeners to dive into their own individual world of sensations.
