“Have faith in yourself.” “Have faith in the system.” “Just believe.” In today's world, faith often means optimism or manifestation—but Scripture defines faith very differently. In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef clears away the confusion with two essential truths. First, there is no power in faith by itself. Faith isn't a force; the object of faith is what gives it weight. If your faith is anchored in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone, then you stand on unshakable ground—because Christ is powerful, victorious, and trustworthy. Second, faith is not the same as feelings. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as confidence and assurance—not emotional certainty. Faith says, “God said it. I believe it. That settles it.” And to keep us from boasting in our “strong faith,” Dr. Youssef points to the deeper foundation beneath it all: even faith is God's gift. By grace, God raises believers up with Christ and saves them through faith—not by works—so all glory belongs to Jesus alone (Ephesians 2:6–9). Prayer: Father, You are the object of my faith. I rejoice knowing that my faith is not in vain because my faith is in You alone and not based on how I feel. You are always faithful and what You say will come to pass. I trust in Your Word and sovereign love. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). Youssef's sermon 12 Evidences of Faith, Joy in Trials: LISTEN NOW| WATCH NOW The voice you hear on the MY Devotional podcast is digitally generated with Dr. Youssef's permission. If today's devotional stirred a question, burden, or need for prayer, you don't have to walk through it alone.
Where can we plainly see Faith in practice? Luke 17:5-6 -the parable of the mustard seed, 7-10- the master of the household and his slave and verses 11-19- the story of the 10 Lepers illustrate what faith is and what it isn't. Receiving, understanding, acting on personal revelation and becoming the sons and daughters of Jesus Christ is the object of our faith. Humility is the ounce of prevention from faith becoming self exalting. Obedience is the path on which the blessing of sanctification is received. As we receive a blessing from God in gratitude we glorify him. Alma 32 gives the blueprint of the experiment of faith that we may partake of the fruit of spiritual rebirth. Faith precedes the miracle (Ether 12:12). When a person walks the path of obedience hearkening to the words of Christ they undergo a transformative process even a mighty change of heart (Mosiah 5). Or in other words, the endowment of charity from God to the individual as a result of their entering into and keeping covenant with Him is manifested (Moroni 7:25-26, Mosiah 13:1-9, Mosiah 17:12-20). Phil illustrates these principles of exercising faith from the accounts of the lives of Abraham, Enoch, and Moses (Book of Jasher 9, 1 Book of Enoch 81 & 84, 2 Enoch 33:1-8, 44:1-3 and 66:1-7). "I give unto you these sayings that you may understand and know how to worship, and know what you worship"…(receiving truth and light is what changes a man or woman)..."that you may come unto the Father in my name and in due time receive of his fulness" (D&C 93:19, 27-28).Come and learn the Doctrine of Christ. The central theme of the Book of Hebrews is the supremacy of Jesus Christ over all Old Testament figures and systems. He is greater than angels, prophets, Moses, and even the Old Covenant itself. Jesus offers a superior rest, assurance, faith, and life. Ultimately, He is revealed as the founder and perfecter of our faith, the fulfillment of everything the Old Testament pointed toward. Real Faith is placed in who God is, not in what He can do.
Where is your faith? Is it in the promises of God or the God of the promise?

The whole story of Moses and the leading out, the exodus, of the people of Israel out of Egypt and out of their slavery is all told in Hebrews 11 in just a couple of phrases. In the Passover's ordinance of the death of a lamb and taking shelter under its blood, God gave the Israelites and anyone who wanted to read the Old Testament a clue to the meaning of the universe. Look at Jesus as Lamb, and a tremendous greatness of life will develop. This is the object of our faith. This is the thing we look at to become people of faith. From looking at Jesus as our Passover, Jesus as the Lamb of God, we get three lessons: 1) we see everybody deserves judgment, 2) Jesus' death is a propitiation, and 3) the reason Jesus Christ was so weak as the Lamb was because his love was so strong. Welcome to Grace in Focus radio. Today, Bob Wilkin and Ken Yates are here for a question and answer episode. Last week we had the pleasure of hearing from Leo Klus as we began our summer series in the book of Colossians. In his first message, he walked us through verses 1-14 of chapter one, focusing on one of the most powerful prayers in the Bible and how to apply it personally. This week, he will be speaking from verses 15-23, that include one of the strongest Christological passages in all of scripture! In his attempt to address those in Colossae who were adding to the Gospel, Paul provides a worshipful and comprehensive picture of who Christ is, his centrality to our faith and his pre-eminence over all creation! In our world today, we regularly interact with those who would limit the person and power of Jesus, referring to him simply as a good person or teacher or one of many paths to God. Even in our own teaching and worship, we can limit him in our attempts to understand and explain him. However, if we are to maintain Scriptural integrity, we must affirm that Jesus is both fully man and fully God. Join us as Leo provides a wonderful reminder that Jesus is the Supreme God of all things, the Creator of all things, the Sustainer of all things and the Reconciler of all things. Come expecting to be challenged and encouraged! Series: Invisible God; Visible Faith-Paul's letter to the Colossians Message: 2 – The object of faith Text: Colossians 1:15-23 Leo Klus Harvest Bible Chapel July 2, 2023 1. That pristine beauty of Eden has been horribly marred. Disharmony was brought to bear on God's handiwork. Alienation (between God and man, between man and man, and between man and nature) now characterizes the cosmos. In a word, the totality of creation is mired in disruption and suffers from what one can only describe as moral, spiritual, and physical discombobulation. This is clearly Paul's point in Rom. 8:18–23, where he speaks of the creation being subjected to futility. Sam Storms

East River Baptist Church is a conservative, independent body of King James Bible believers located on the Northeast side of Houston, Texas. Our mission as an assembly is threefold: - To Exalt the Saviour! Eph. 3:21 - To Edify the Saints! Eph. 4:16 - To Evangelize the Sinners! Lk 24:47 What we believe about the Scriptures: We believe that the scriptures of both Old and New Testament are verbally inspired of God, that they are the supreme and final authority for faith and practice, and are preserved in the Authorized Version (KJV 1611) of the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16. Psalm 12:6-7. What we believe about God: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That God is supreme in His person, absolute in His attributes, glorious in His perfection, and eternal in His being. 1 John 5:7. What we believe about Jesus: We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ. His conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His death on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His exaltation at God's right hand, and His personal imminent, pre-millennial, and pre-tribulation return. Matthew 1:20. 2 Corinthians 1:21. Ephesians 1:7. Luke 24:6, 39. 1 Timothy 2:5. What we believe about Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, one with the Father and the Son, the indweller of every believer to enlighten, guide, and enable him in life, testimony, and service, and seal each believer until the day of redemption of the body. John 15:26. John 14:7 What we believe about man: We believe that God created man in His image and likeness (a triune being: spirit, soul, and body) in a state of innocence's, but through temptation, he willingly transgressed, became dead in trespasses and sins. As a result, his posterity (all men) inherited a corrupt nature, are born in sin, and are under condemnation. Genesis 1:26. Psalm 51:5. Romans 5:12. *LIVING SEEDS DEVOTIONALS* (Life Transforming Words) Day:85 Friday March 26th 2021 ************************************** *OBJECT OF FAITH* *For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus* . Gal 3:26(KJV). The word of God told us to believe solemnly in the Christ and his finished works. What is the object of hope, belief and confidence? The object of faith for a sinner is Christ Jesus. Several people make this mistake of believing on God the father. Though belief on God is an after result of faith in Jesus Christ. We became believer in the eternal love of God the father as the result of trusting the precious blood of the son of God. We are sons through faith not through law keeping. The faith we have in Christ has produced grace for us. The believers living under grace has three benefits. Paul, includes both the Jewish and Gentile Christians in his statements that they are all sons of God. No more segregation that I am a Jew or gentiles because they have been engrafted into the common wealth of Israel. The first benefit of living under grace is believers become *sons of God* . The word sons here means fully *grown sons* . This is a much stronger term than children of God. When a child reached the age of adulthood, his father would give him a coat of manhood. Now his son could operate with all the privileges of adulthood. The son was no longer bound by the slave teacher [the law]. The word, all means every person who becomes a child of God becomes a full-grown son (Gal.4: 6). Every believers hold special privileges before God through faith. We receive the privilege of adult status with God by faith, not by works ( Eph 2:5,8). The scripture does not say everyone in the world is a son of God. Although, we are all creatures of God, that does not mean we are God's children. No one is a child of God without placing an exclusive faith in Christ Jesus. Those who do not exercise faith in Christ are mere creatures of God, just like a bird or donkey. They do not have a personal relationship with God. The New Testament believers has adult privileges with God. In the New Testament salvation, Christians hold adult privileges. Our status with God rests on faith in Christ, not on our works. We do not gain God's approbation by what we do. We have it by what Christ did. We have it by faith. SHALL WE PRAY Father in the name of Jesus, thank you for the finished works on the cross and for adopting me as your son with all privileges. In the last episode if we looked at all the "Heroes of Faith mentioned in Chapter 11 of Hebrews, we discovered three principles at work: * Faith Anticipates the Future * Faith Acts in the Present * and Faith Appraises the Past. In episode 4 of "Journey through the Scriptures" that covers the last 2 chapters of Hebrews, we will discover how faith is produced in our lives, and how God goes about making us strong in the faith.
One of the most serious warnings in the letter and in the Bible is found in Hebrews 6:4-6, and is considered by many to be the most difficult verse to interpret in the entire New Testament. Does it line up with the Arminian theology that says there are believers who have lost their salvation, or does it confirm the Calvinist view that argues people like this were never believers, or is it the hypothetical "theology" view that teaches that these events had not actually occurred? I think that none of these apply, as it is important to understand who the audience of this letter is and what was happening to them.
The first 10 chapters of Hebrews have a very simple structure and premise – *Jesus Chris* t is compared to other leaders, systems and religious values. Jesus Christ is compared to *4 challenger* s. * The Prophets and Angels * Moses and the Promised Land * Priests and Melchizedek * Sacrifices and the Covenant.
Christians often describe themselves as “people of faith”. But simply having faith is not unique. Everyone in the world has faith - Everyone is motivated by some kind of hope. Everyone holds to a set of convictions. The question of real importance is, “What have you put your faith in?”In today's episode, we'll listen to Paul's first session in a Bible study he did on Hebrews 11 called “Faith: What Are You Hoping For?” You can purchase the full bible study at PaulTripp.com/faith
Hebrews is a letter that has many, many deep truths, and I hope I will be able to take you a few steps down the path to the blessing that God has given us in this letter. The central message of the book of Hebrews, is that Jesus Christ is superior to everything and everybody. The letter to the Hebrews asks 3 important questions. This podcast will help you to discover the answer to these 3 questions: * What are you believing in? * Who are you believing in? * What kind of a person is he?
The panel discuss John 15:26, and how the Holy Spirit testifies of Christ.

Chris Wood discusses Faith and how to discern between faith claims. What is biblical faith and how is it different from blind faith. From a sermon series delivered in the Dutchess county region of New York.
The object of our faith determines the way we interact in faith with that object. Each of the brother’s sacrifices, Cain’s and Abel’s, reflected the nature of the relationship between the brother and God. For Abel God was the object to be grasped and for Cain God was a means to an object to be grasped. So in the end, it is not the strength of your faith it’s the object of your faith that makes you a righteous man.
Pastor Thomas Brashears -- What does faith mean? This is the only time the Bible ever defines faith. Time and time again, the Bible discusses faith and the great importance of faith. The Bible tells us that we must have faith—we must believe God—and it tells us the great things that happen to those who do believe in God. The Bible also gives example after example of men and women who have and have not believed God and shows in clear terms what happened to each. But nowhere does the Bible define faith…except here.
