Seguimos con los monográficos estivales dedicados a una de las grandes figuras del jazz de nuestro país, el pianista Chano Domínguez. Retomamos la historia en 2006 con su trabajo a trio "Acércate más". También recordaremos "New Flamenco Sound" (2006), uno de sus trabajos más sólidos y recordados en el que se adentró con todas las de la ley en la experimentación entre el flamenco, el jazz y otras muchas influencias musicales que le interesaban, como la música medieval o la hindú. Tambien escucharemos algún corte de su colaboración con el cubano Paquito D´Rivera o su interesante disco "Piano ibérico" (2009) donde pone en valor a compositores como Albéniz, Falla, Granados o Mompou. Una de las colaboraciones mas interesantes de la siguiente década es la que llevó a Chano a colaborar nuevamente con el trompetista norteamericano Wynton Marsalis, que contó con él en su "Vitoria Suite" (2010). El propio Chano quiso experimentar un par de años mas tarde con otro clásico del jazz y el resultado fue su interesante directo "Flamenco Sketches" (2012), donde recreó, en el Jazz Standard de Nueva York, todos los temas del mítico "Kind of Blue" de Miles Davis, trasladándolos al universo del flamenco. El programa termina con "Chano & Josele" (2014), un disco producido por Fernando Trueba para su sello Calle 54 Records en el que Chano realizó un dúo con el guitarrista almeriense Niño Josele.

A native of Brooklyn, NY, Deryck Clarke (French horn) comes from a family of immigrants from Guyana, South America. He is a graduate of the High School of Performing Arts in New York City and the Curtis Institute of Music. He holds a BM from the North Carolina School of the Arts and a MM from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. His professional engagements include Soulful Symphony, the Martina Arroyo Foundation’s Prelude to Performance orchestra, Early Music New York, the Paula Kimper Ensemble, the Ray Chew Orchestra, Imani Winds, Oregon Symphony, Winston-Salem Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic, and Broadway productions of The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aida, and the US Tour of Oklahoma! Throughout his career Deryck has performed with renowned artists including Leonard Bernstein, Isaac Stern, Donnie McClurkin, Ashford and Simpson, Sir Andrew Davis, Aaron Copland, Paquito D’Rivera, and James DePriest. While in college, Mr. Clarke discovered his passion for teaching at the NY State Music Camp/Hartwick College Music Festival. He was faculty member at the Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival, the Juilliard School's Music Advancement Program and the Mannes College preparatory division. Mr. Clarke also served as Interim Music Director of the Harlem School of the Arts. As a NJ state certified music educator, Deryck received awards and recognition for his service as instrumental and vocal music teacher at the Mount Vernon Elementary School in Newark, NJ. He later served as Program Director of William Paterson University’s Music After School program in Paterson, NJ and Start the Music camp, and an artist-in-residence at the Cicely Tyson School of the Arts in East Orange, NJ. Deryck is currently the Educational and Community Outreach director for The Harlem Chamber Players and founder of the Harmony Effect, an instrumental music learning program. He serves on the Leadership Council of the Newark Arts Education Roundtable, the Education Committee for the American Federation of Musicians Local 802, and the Education Committee of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. Composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Onel Mulet has performed with a roster of legendary artists including Santos Colon, Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez and Celia Cruz as well as internationally renown artists Johnny Pacheco, Bobby Valentin, Ismael Miranda, Larry Harlow, Bobby Cruz, Jose Luis Rodriguez "El Puma", Israel Sardiña of Los Van Van, Arturo Sandoval,Malena Burke, Carlos "Patato" Valdes as well as the notable Cuban Troubadour Pedro Luis Ferrer, and NY-based Grammy nominated artists, David Oquendo and Roman Diaz. Born and reared in Miami, of Cuban heritage, Onels musical environment was anchored by the music of his parents, Cuban masters, and richly influenced by the diversity of American music including Motown, funk, old school Rhythm & Blues, classical music and jazz greats, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Paquito DíRivera and John Coltrane. A graduate of the New World School of the Arts in Florida, he quickly became part of the local Miami music scene.
