Star Trek: The Next Generation, Series 3, Episode 21. First broadcast on Monday 29 April 1991. Stardate: 44769.2. This week, Jean Simmons strides imperiously onto the Enterprise bridge, accompanied by her executive assistant, her scary stenographer, her daddy issues, and a terrifying sense of self-righteous rage. Unmissable.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Series 6, Episode 7. First broadcast on Friday 10 October 1997. Stardate: 51247.5. This week, Worf and Jadzia celebrate the triumphant 150th episode of Untitled Star Trek Project by setting a date for their wedding, holding one fun party and one excruciating one, punching a future mother-in-law in the face, calling off the wedding, calling it back on again, and having sex with that handsome young lieutenant from the USS Sutherland. Or was that last one just us?
Star Trek: The Next Generation, Series 1, Episode 26. First broadcast on Monday 16 May 1988. Stardate: 41986.0. This week, Joe and Nathan are woken from 380 years of cryosleep to discover that the world has changed forever: the ship's captain isn't friendly and welcoming like Captain Stubing, some of their ports of call have been scooped in their entirety off the surface of the planet, and those people in that scary green cruise ship over there look very unfriendly indeed.
Star Trek: Voyager, Series 1, Episode 16. First broadcast on Monday 22 May 1995. Stardate: 48846.5. Two B-plots on Star Trek: Voyager this week, each one more forgettable than the other. In the A B-plot, Tuvok is unreasonably mean to four obnoxious misfits, while the B B-plot is somehow about cheese.
Star Trek: Discovery, Series 2, Episodes 13–14. First broadcast on Thursday 11 April 2019 and Thursday 18 April 2019. Stardate: 1050.8. The whole of Discovery Series 2 has been leading to this: a baffling and possibly ill-advised decision to catapult the show 930 years into the future. (Spoiler: it turns out better than we could have dared to imagine.) On the way though, we get to experience breathtaking CGI, some vertiginous camerawork, and more heartfelt and prolonged emotion than the entire history of the franchise to date.
Star Trek: The Next Generation, Series 5, Episode 6. First broadcast on Monday 28 October 1991. Stardate: 45208.2. This week, it's The One Where the Entire Crew is Taken over by an Orgasmatronic Video Game. Oh, and Wesley's back as well. It's Star Trek, at the very top of its (don't say it) Game.

Hosts continue to spout absurdity. Immediate intervention required… *but also kinda entertaining.*"
Star Trek: Lower Decks, Series 5, Episode 2. First broadcast on Thursday 24 October 2024. Stardate: 59376.9. Everyone learns a valuable lesson this week: Boimler learns about the perks and perils of being the fun boss, Tendi learns what it takes to be a kick-ass swashbuckling aunt, and T'Lyn learns why, how and how much Rutherford and Tendi love each other. Even the gardener bot gets a little arc. (Good for him.)
Captain's Log, Stardate 1709.2 After a long hiatus, the Trek-Cast is back with the season one classic, Balance of Terror. I am excited for the submarine inspired action sequences, but can't help but feel uneasy… I suspect that one of my crew is a Romulan spy - I can't prove it, but what I can prove is that someone is stealing my hair plugs and selling them on the black market at outrageous prices. I'm hoping to smoke this individual out on the episode and find out where their allegiances lie, by how they rate the dorky looking fashion of the Romulan crew… I'm your host and captain, Dave, and joining me again as we brace for impact from the giant red ball of death are fellow Trekkies Lt. Mike and First Officer Jackie. Topics of discussion in this episode include Trek at its best, aka: submarine style space combat; we'll also call the fashion police on the Romulan crew's attire; and finally, William Shatner shows his acting chops and proves that James T. Kirk is more than the Zap Brannigan parody he is known for. Be sure to rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. We have an absolute treat for you TJU fans that loved Trek This Out. We have the buddies watching an actual episode of DSN. You get to watch the live episode and hear our commentary to whats going on. SIDE NOTE: Were still learning this technology so we are loud but the episode we watched is kind of low. So if you turn the episode volume up max, just know we are gonna be loud in your ears. We hope to fix this in future episodes.

Star Trek: The Next Generation, Series 3, Episode 4. First broadcast on Monday 16 October 1989. Stardate: 43173.5. – You see, my people once lived in caves. And then we learned to build huts and, in time, to build ships like this one. – Perhaps one day, my people will travel above the skies. – Of that, I have absolutely no doubt. Top-tier Star Trek this week, as The Next Generation belatedly hits its stride, with a well-written, well-acted and well-made story about the beauty and fragility of progress.

Captain's Log, Stardate 4842.46 After a long and sexy summer of covering nothing but dance films, the crew is excited to get back to the world of Star Trek with season three's, The Paradise Syndrome. I have instructed Lt. Mike and First Officer Jackie to watch their step while reviewing this episode, lest they find themselves waking up in a dark room with odd looking machinery, asking themselves, “This is not my beautiful starship…this is not my Native American wife…HOW…did I get here?? I'm your host and captain, Dave, and joining me again as we travel through the final frontier of the Original Series of Trek are fellow Trekkies Lt. Mike and First Officer Jackie. Topics of discussion in this episode include Captain Kirk's flagrant disregard of the Prime Directive; a leaf blower signals the beginning of the end for the inhabitants of a doomed planet; and finally, James T. Kirk has his sixth best relationship of the series as he gets friendly with a young native american woman on Planet California. Be sure to rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Captain's Log, Stardate 3372.7. The Trek Cast remains trapped in the TOS era of Star Trek, and our next assignment is Season 2's “Amok Time”. An episode filled with horny rage and awesome fight music. I have instructed my crew to behave themselves during the screening, and not to emulate the insubordinate behavior of Mr. Spock, lest they find themselves in the brig for illogical conduct. I'm your host and captain, Dave, and joining me again as we travel through the final frontier of the Original Series of Trek are fellow Trekkies Lt. Mike and First Officer Jackie. Topics of discussion in this episode include a breakdown of Pon Farr, aka: the Vulcan version of the Birds and the Bees; we get a peek into the bizarre and macabre world of the “Omegaverse”; and finally, we wonder if this whole episode was just an excuse for Gene Roddenberry to live out his sci-fi cuck fantasies. ***Hi all❤
Stardate: 15th October 2023.Coordinates: Melbourne, Australia. The first dedicated Trek event Australia has seen in decades. So naturally Davey went along to meet his heroes AND put a few Aussie Treksperts to the test! Note: Audio quality is not the greatest.
Jay's out this week, so Robbie and Art fire up the Way Back machine for a look back at the comic books and graphic novels that made 1986 a Renaissance year. Hard to believe but that year saw the release of The Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns, and John Byrne's Man of Steel. Listen as the Guys wax (and sometimes wane) nostalgic about these and other literary masterpieces that still influence modern comics and the movies inspired by them. This episode starts out with some monsterish news- Amicus Studios is back from the grave and Apple TV+ has some earth-shaking news regarding their upcoming series featuring Godzilla and other kaiju from the current Monarch universe movies.

Co-Captains' Log, Stardate 76627.7 ... We are excited to bring to you the 4th installment in a monthly episode series called "Co-Captains' Commentary", where we watch ALL of the Star Trek films, in chronological release date order, to provide you with a fun commentary track to listen to WHILE you watch the Star Trek films! We'll give you a countdown to press play so you're synced up with us, and then all you have to do is sit back and watch/listen! Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is a direct sequel to the events of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, and the final film in an unofficial trilogy set in motion by The Wrath of Khan. We are thrilled to have a special guest for this episode: Frank Ramblings, a certifiable rad dad and also the cohost of Beer With Geeks, a fantastic podcast about two dads who geek out while they drink beer. You may remember him from Episode 010! Thanks for joining us, Frank! Coming up on March 1st, we will find out what God needs with a starship when we watch Star Trek V: The Final Frontier! We also hope you'll boldly go and listen to us each week for recaps/reviews of new and old Trek TV shows and films, as well as our newest weekly episode series “Boldly Dadding”, where we discuss parenting topics and maybe even share a story/lesson learned from the past week of being dads to young children! It has been weeks since the sun has appeared on this planet. A constant mist has enveloped this region, identified as northern Michigan, since the dawn of a new earth year. Contact made today with earthlings that appear to be in distress because of warm temperatures and a lack of something they call Vitamin D. Of all the earthlings encountered in Alpha Quadrant, the northerner is, perhaps, the strangest. Summary:My goal to record the Red Fox again this week did not go well. The constant wind and misting rain have played hell with my recording equipment and my patience. Two nights of failed recordings and hours spent alone in a field with rain running down my neck convinced me to give up on the Red Fox this week. I bailed on Sleeping Bear Dunes and made my way to Northport to visit the Leelanau State Park. I like the rocky beach at this park, which is unlike the sandy stretches of Sleeping Bear. There is also a cool lighthouse and the ability to watch Great Lakes Freighters as they make their way to the Upper Peninsula through the Manitou Straits. I didn't intend to record the wave action, but the wind was just right to capture some interesting sounds as the waves crashed into large rocks near the shore. The water levels are down so I could get further out than what is possible to get close to some large boulders….. that are slick (I know this but sometimes I'm an idiot). I realized, too late, that my feet were slipping and it dumped me into the lake. I'd love to say it was part of a planned Polar Plunge, but I'd be lying. Luckily, I had extra clothes in the truck, so could change and keep recording. The only thing I didn't have was another pair of boots, but I found that if I kept moving that my feet didn't get too cold. I was going to apologize for recording more lake and wave activity, but I'm not sure it is necessary. Every water feature is unique and offers an interesting soundscape. Being surrounded by the Great Lakes is special and something I shouldn't take for granted. I want to bring you diverse recordings and interesting soundscapes every week, but I have to take the sounds that are given to me. What's up, dudes? Captain's Log. Stardate 1987.9. A delegation of Creeg from North Pole Radio is here on a diplomatic mission. Santa Ambassador Matt Spaulding is leading the discussions, and we hope to settle the question of the entity we encountered en route to Syntagus Theluv. That's right! We're talking Star Trek! We mention the Next Gen episode “Devil's Due,” but we really get into issue #2 of the 1988 DC comic miniseries! Space Grinch? Yup. Santa entity? Of course. “Shut up, Wesley” moment? Just about! So grab your tricorder, beam down to your favorite spot, and scout out this episode!North Pole Radio
