Help NinetyForChill: The #Podcast get away from paywalls by subscribing to "Ninety For Chill: The Podcast with CatBusRuss". Andrew "CouchManBakes" Tiede makes his 2024 return to "Ninety For Chill", and once again, the feature that he wanted to chat about was just over 100 minutes long. The feature is the Robert Rodriguez directed (and Quentin Tarantino co-penned) "From Dusk Till Dawn". This of course means that to cover this feature, CouchMan and CatBusRuss must partake in a marathon. For the most part, Rodriguez's movies have fairly tight runtimes, so our host should have had no difficulty coming up with a movie marathon dedicated to El Rey. Well, the Tex-Mex tinged James Bond tribute "Machete Kills" was just a couple of minutes too long. To assure that we still have a Danny Trejo triple feature before Midnight's main event, Russ chose to open the festivities with the Tarantino/Rodriguez produced, Robert Patrick-led, vampire-themed bank heist flick, "From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money". To justify skipping "Machete", The Six Raven Movie House still programmed the original trailer with the first feature of 2007's "Grindhouse", "Planet Terror". Andrew has yet to program a quadruple feature for his Sasquatch Cinema House, and the trend continues. Unlike the prior marathon (The Marathon: Child's Play, Wraiths, and Other THINGs), he skipped trying to find three sub 100-minute movies and just chose bangers from Rodriguez's filmography. These are the third "El Mariachi" tale, "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" and his collaboration with comic book legend Frank Miller, "Sin City". On paper, this could be a contentious podcast. We have Amber Heard versus Johnny Depp after all. If Andrew's triple feature was not enough, his cinema has just become 420 friendly. Surely it is better to go to the Russ's theater that now features an arcade for the kids? Of course, the two cannot get too heated once their shared love for "Lucha Underground" is discussed.
This week in Segment 1, Comfy Horror Movie Review: Jake the Midnight Traveler has graced us with an extended segment, recalling the first time he took in the mayhem and murder that is the Tarantino/Rodriguez double feature called "The Grindhouse". After the return of the old drive-in intermission ads and trailers, Segment 2, Horror, Etc features Carrie and Case diving into the Grindhouse Part 2 that never was, Tarantino movies that were never made, and what movie, trailer and ad selections we would make if we were charged with putting together a grindhouse double feature.
Artoun and Christina are shaking their heads wondering what could possibly be going on with Werewolf Women of the SS (2007). Released as part of the Tarantino/Rodriguez double feature Grindhouse, Werewolf Women is one of 4 trailers shown, and Artoun and Christina ask the question why did Nicolas Cage do this, does he recognize his own brand so well, and get into the nitty gritty of his recent 60 Minutes Interview. Join us next week as we look into the future with Next (2007) [RATED PG-13]. American Vampire presents Grindhouse: Vampire Bride, aka ROSALIE'S REVENGE. We legit spent so much time talking specifically about the conversation between Rosalie and Bella in Chapter 7 of Eclipse that I had to split the Chapters 7-9 episode into two parts. Content note: discussion of sexual assault. Topics include how our bitter queen Rosalie came to resent capitalism, the aging body in romance, and how this chapter feels like it's living in a Tarantino/Rodriguez cinematic universe instead of Twilight.
This month Jaime, Shawn, and Pax discuss the Tarantino/Rodriguez vampire collaboration, From Dusk till Dawn, starring George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, Quentin Tarantino and Juliette Lewis. Lots to say about one of our favorite movies.

On this week's discussion of the episode "Lucky Girl", Emily and Mazza discuss the ultimate cop-out that is the inclusion of magic in a sci-fi show, bad superhero names, and another completely fabricated backstory for one of the one-off characters.
As promised, we're showcasing From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter which stars the recently deceased and Tarantino/Smith favourite actor, Michael Parks. This final film in the series is a prequel-threequel, going back to tell the story of the Mexican vampire's nest a century before the events of the original Tarantino/Rodriguez film. Hangman's Daughter is a wonderful hybrid of old western and horror entertainment. Parks plays Ambrose Bierce, Civil War veteran and author. After witnessing Johnny Madrid's daring escape from the Hangman's noose he is waylaid by Madrid's posse and left in the desert. The Hangman is on the heels of Madrid who has taken his daughter, Esmarelda with him. Fate finds them all uniting at La Titilla Del Diablo where all bets are off as enemies must band together to survive the night while the vampires fulfill an ancient prophecy which shape the future of their lair forever. Part III is a great addition to the story. It is scores better than Part II: Texas Blood Money. Good performances, excellent stunts, exciting western elements and sticky gore from KNB effects make this a satisfying watch. We get World Famous Brian Stewart's review on the Friday the 13th video game that launched last month. Join us for another Horror 101 podcast! I just watched my favorite '70s movie, 'Werewolves on Wheels.' If you haven't seen it, this one has it all: bike culture, satanism, desert roads, and a wonderful original soundtrack to match. It's hard not to fall in love with it. The acting is natural and very spontaneous. There's realistic use of drug use during a time when it was still only hinted at in drive-in flicks. And there's a kind of Tarantino-Rodriguez vibe to the second half, which the title implies (though nowhere near as disappointing as 'From Dust Till Dawn'). If you have a chance to get a hold of the DVD copy, you'll really enjoy the cinematography, something that's only somewhat appreciable through the TV rip currently available on YouTube (but curiosity seekers can definitely find a lot of satisfaction checking it out there). IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067972/ For this podcast, you'll hear audio clips from Werewolves on Wheels, along with some songs that remind me of the desert and occult rituals. Also, I've selected from the artists that appeared at this year's Psycho Las Vegas. At some point in the future, I may reprise the concept with different music and additional samples from the movie, and welcome suggestions that may be better suited to the subject matter.
