This week on the Eurogamer Newscast, following the announcement of a new Batman Arkham game for Meta Quest VR headsets, we talk about the future of superheroes in video games. At a time when superhero films feel at risk of real burnout, could similar happen in the video game space as well? And are we already seeing that, with repeated flops such as Marvel's Avengers, Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? Even the brilliant Marvel's Midnight Sons failed to move the needle. But is there hope on the horizon? With the live-service bubble burst, the next crop of games include single-player blockbusters such as Amy Hennig's Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra plus a new Iron Man project from Star Wars: Squadrons studio EA Motive. And certainly, Sony's Spider-Man games are managing to do the numbers. Joining me to discuss this week are Eurogamer's Ed Nightingale and Victoria Kennedy. Learn more about your ad choices. Hello everyone and thanks for tuning in to another episode of Trophy Talk! The crew has assembled in Episode 108 to talk all about what we've been playing and trophy hunting in for the past month or so. Before we get there though the top of the show opens with an interesting discussion on what constitutes a spoiler. Does the definition change depending on the cultural pervasiveness of the IP? Does it change based on the medium of the story? Is it fair to deem mechanics as spoilers? We discuss it all. Additionally, Josh brings Colin and Darryl up to speed on a recent legal case involving a YouTuber, Ubisoft, and the closure of The Crew's servers. As far as what we've been playing Josh takes us to medieval France in A Plague Tale: Requiem, and sings the praise of Jon Bernthal in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. Darryl links up with the rebel resistance movement in Star Wars: Squadrons and hunts collectibles in Tchia. Colin nears the end of his long grind with Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Mode, and Call of Duty: MW3. The biggest question though, is should you boost with strangers, or with friends?

The Starhawk and company are limping away from the Empire, trying to get to Chandrila. Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. This marks the very first occassion that Darryl and Colin have ever done a duo podcast together, which is crazy considering we're three years into doing this show. Regardless, we relished at the opportunity to discuss gaming, and take a break from a very busy period of work. We start off the episode with a little mini break down of the most recent Resident Evil 4 Remake DLC, Separate Ways, which came out on the day of recording the episode. As massive RE fans this DLC is intriguing as it brings back the classic challenge that we know and love in these trophy lists, but does so in a bite sized $10 package. From there we get into Platinum shout outs and Patreon shout outs before moving on to some questions submitted by the listeners! Topics include, what games we were highly anticipating that didn't live up to our own hype, what the last game we would choose to tackle on our backlog would be, and if we have any recommendations for new Switch owners. To close out the show we talk about what we've been playing. Much of this time Colin spends trying to convince Darryl, (and anyone else who will listen), to buy and play FF16. It's a fantastic game of course but in addition to that, the trophy hunt and list is extremely well designed! Darryl then chimes in with updates on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as a bit of an update on Star Wars: Squadrons, and Inside. Thank you so much for listening ,and we hope you enjoy the show!
In the inaugural episode of the podcast, we talk to Chris Allen, our community's chief trouble maker and tournament numbers robot, notable X-Wing community member and lover of dead games. I try to get the goods on him while he talks about his love of Star Wars Squadrons, and hatred of the Star Wars movies. I don't know what I'm doing.
