Chances are if you are a fan of this podcast you have come across a Yondr bag at a Comedy Show or Concert. Yondr is a small locking bag that you put your phone in before you enter a concert or comedy show that can only be unlocked when you step into a phone free zone kind of like a smoking section. Graham Dugoni CEO of Yondr stops by to give us the history of this iconic invention. As a performer I fell in love with this invetion and I had to hear it's history. I think you guys will find this episode pretty damn cool. Love it or hate the Yondr I feel like we all need to unplug when we are out enjoying Art. DugonI, a former soccer player, founded Yondr after attending the Treasure Island Music Festival in 2012. After witnessing an intoxicated man dancing and people filming him, he pondered how this could affect freedom of expression. After raising $100,000 from friends and family, the company was up and running. Tune in and enjoy this mans story on episode 67 of The Grail DDR

She pursued a jazz emphasis at her high school, Oakland School for the Arts, where she picked up the vibraphone at age 13. She is an alumni of the SF Jazz High School All Stars Orchestra and the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music. She headlined festivals like the Atlanta Jazz Festival, NYC Winter Jazz Festival, and the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, by the age of 19. In that same year, she was deemed one of SF Jazz's 10 Rising Female Instrumentalists for 2018 and was featured by Hot House Jazz Magazine, The SF Jazz Education Center, PBS News Hour, NPR, NBC Boston, and The New York Times for both her musicianship and her activism. She was a finalist for the International Hit Like A Girl program in the Concert Percussion category as well as the cover story for Tom Tom Magazine’s Fall 2018 publication. She was also the first US winner of the LetterOne “Rising Stars” Jazz Award 2018, which enabled her to bring her group to several prominent jazz festivals across the US and Canada. 2015 was personally a very busy year and I thus made the fewest BiH mixes in my 5+ year tenure as your humble music presenter. I hope to do better in 2016. But as a result there are a handful of songs on this mix that were among my favorites for the year but which never actually made it onto a BiH mix (granted, they are on some unreleased, unfinished mixes). I am not sure at this point if it makes sense to include them in future mixes or not. TBD.2015 was a pretty great year for music. Sadly I still have a boatload of unheard tracks in my iTunes for the year, but that's okay. I'll get to it eventually. I heard plenty of great new stuff this year. I also had the pleasure of seeing some of my favorite new artists at the Treasure Island Music Festival this year (The National, CHVRCHES, Panda Bear, Run the Jewels, many many more). I'll probably make the TIMF an annual thing. The lineup this year was pretty epic, and they have been in year's past as well. I suspect the future will be no different.I know this mix doesn't include as many unknown artists as last year's Favoritest Songs edition; I guess that has to do with me not hearing as much unknown music this year. I really should try to commit to hearing it all in 2016.We recently lost our dog for a few days, but we found her. That explains why I used the same cover for this edition as I did for 2014. I love this picture. We love our dog and it is great to have her back home, to say the least.BiH Favoritest Songs of the Year: 2015 feat. On this week's RIPECast we're extremely pleased to bring you Anthony Mansfield (Disco Knights/Green Gorilla). If you weren't there or were there but were too gacked out to remember, this year's Breakfast of Champions had a whole new stage on Utah Street. So we were able to bring Anthony and many more of SF's incredibly talented DJs to the party, and we had the recorders going the whole time. Anthony's Dirt Rave vibe rocked the crowd and was one of the day's highlights -- we know you'll enjoy it! About Anthony: Anthony Mansfield has been on a 20-year journey through the world of psychedelic dance music ever since attending the now-legendary full moon massives of San Francisco’ s Wicked Crew in the early 90’ s. Anthony spent the rest of the decade in New York, spreading the gospel of deep house across the Empire State with a late- night radio show, his 8-year-running weekly, and the countless underground parties that gave birth to his own crew, HectorWorks Soundsystem. After an exhausting and debaucherous 2-year run as GM, talent booker, and resident DJ at upstate’ s largest live music venue, The Odyssey, Anthony was ready to return to San Francisco. Anthony hit the West Coast running in 2001, joining his old friend DJ M3 as resident DJ and co-promoter of the infamous Green Gorilla Lounge in a string of successful weekly club nights, true seat-of-your-pants underground parties, and blown- out monthly events across the Bay Area, with some of the city’ s and world’ s best names in dance music. Anthony has left his mark on Burning Man for the last decade as well, at the Space Lounge, Green Gorilla, and Disco Knights sound camps, with a trail of exhausted dancers and party people in the wake of his many epic sets on the Playa. Anthony has been producing his own particular brand of dance music since his first release on Rong Records in ’ 04 with Ben Cook as “ Barfly”. Quickly moving to found his own label, Hector Works, in 2005 with NYC deep-house production wizard Nick Chacona, Anthony has worked with Garth, Tal M. Klein, Sneak-E Pete, M3, and others in the last five years, releasing tracks on Gomma, Moodmusic, Aniligital, and Om Records. His tunes have received nods (and plays) from some of the world’ s top DJs, including Dimitri from Paris, Harvey, Greg Wilson, Doc Martin, Idjut Boys, Ivan Smaggle, The Revenge, Pete Herbert, and Playgroup. Camped out in his room at Moulton Studios, Anthony is currently hard at work on the 19th release for Hector Works, and looking forward to taking a break for the Treasure Island Music Festival! https://soundcloud.com/anthony-mansfield https://www.facebook.com/anthonymansfieldmusic

Great seeing everyone (and we do mean EVERYONE!) at Ghost Ship last weekend. Rather than let it all get left behind in the rush to the holidays, I decided to press record and share it with you. Our +2hr 30min journey will begin in the low 120s BMP as it winds through glitter dappled neon hills of Nu Disco berg, detouring through the bassline laced outskirts of Garageistan, eventually reaching speeds of 135bmp before arriving at our final destination of Breakslandia.
